3141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it possible that bitcoin cash can surpass the value of bitcoin? on: August 07, 2017, 01:56:25 PM
Can anyone help to answer it? because I want to invest for bitcoin cash.

Right now, not even close. If scaling problems arise again, then there could be some increase in the value of bitcoin cash. But I don't think it will increase enough to pose a threat to Bitcoin.

This. Keep an eye on the fees for bitcoin transactions - if they spike, people may start moving money using bitcoin cash instead. Bitcoin cash doesn't need to increase fees, it can just pack a lot of transactions into big blocks and make money from the volume.
3142  Economy / Speculation / Re: r0ach proven right - Bitcoin market is a Gox-style fraud controlled by Bitfinex on: August 07, 2017, 01:45:01 PM
ok so clearly if bitfinex is evil, what exchange we should use for other than btc trades?
I mean, stamp offers only limited currencies, poloniex is no go, kraken looks shady-ish as well... so which one?

Gemini (the winklevoss exchange) does ether trading.

And GDAX (coinbase's exchange) does ether and litecoin and you can trade eth and ltc against various fiat currencies as well.
3143  Economy / Speculation / Re: r0ach proven right - Bitcoin market is a Gox-style fraud controlled by Bitfinex on: August 07, 2017, 11:49:18 AM
I wouldn't be at all surprised if this was true.

Brexit caught EVERYONE by surprise, not just bitcoin traders,, but the forex markets and stock markets worldwide. I even remember some really big hedge funds trying to panic sell commercial property (which is not the type of thing you can sell quickly) after the referendum. They mist feel like fools now, especially as a whole bunch of businesses have relocated to London to occupy said comercial property.
3144  Economy / Speculation / Re: About BCC (Bitcoin's Cancer Cell) on: August 07, 2017, 10:57:58 AM
84% reduction on BCH difficulty. We're seeing block less infrequently. More dumps to come as the chain becomes somewhat closer to normal blocktime spacing.

Its a natural reaction by the holders. But which one has more upside, BTC or BCC? If everything goes as planned with BCC we might see more price growth in it because of heavy speculation.

We're going to see some heavy speculation for sure. BCH does not even need to be fully viable to get pumped once the current wave of dumpers has run out of coins. Especially the upcoming Segwit vs Segwitx2 drama is going to be BCH pumper's paradise, regardless of whether the coin shows any merit or not.

I think the pump has started - it's up from about 0.06 yesterday to about 0.11 today. Part of the reason is that the difficulty has fallen and blocks are being generated smoothly at last.
3145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When did altcoins got so popular? on: August 07, 2017, 10:56:02 AM
It's because alt trading is more volatile and offers potentially greater rewards than bitcoin trading. And also noobs look at the price of bitcoin, decide it is too high, and try to spot the "next big thing" in the alt market instead.
3146  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I need bitcoin targeted traffic for my faucet on: August 06, 2017, 04:54:46 PM
Get your faucet listed on the following micropayment hub:

https://faucethub.io/faucets/BTC

You should get traffic from that
3147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex Withdrawal Alert! Anyone experienced similar issues? on: August 06, 2017, 04:47:15 PM
The lesson is simple - do not use Poloniex. There always are issues with the wirthdrawals, I've been waiting for my wirthdrawal for a week. I am pretty sure there will be changes in the exchange market and Bittrex is going to flush Poloniex.

They do seem to be having a lot of problems. Their steem wallet keeps going offline, and not sure what the problem is, because it works just fine on other exchanges.
3148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BitcoinCash is dead on: August 06, 2017, 04:39:48 PM
Well someone is definitely trying to kill it:

https://news.bitcoin.com/blockchain-data-reveals-someone-is-trying-to-slow-down-bitcoin-cash/

Basically just when the difficulty is about to drop, someone puts in massive hashrate, and mines a couple of blocks in quick succession. And then leaves, with the difficulty high and no-one able to mine the next block...
3149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex will credit BCC on or before 8/14 on: August 06, 2017, 11:54:34 AM
Yes. I'm surprised that people stuck with Polo so long. I just hope Bittrex doesn't start to have problems due to a huge influx of customers.

Well, Polo comes with Trading Volume and a nice Interface. Bittrex could improve the chats.

Polo's trading volume is mainly because they allow margin trading. Bittrex doesn't allow it (but is a safer exchange). You pays your money and you takes your choice.
3150  Economy / Speculation / Re: About BCC (Bitcoin's Cancer Cell) on: August 05, 2017, 02:05:59 PM
Isn't Bitcoin all about freedom and financial evolution? Let the free market decide. Maybe those guys are onto something and big blocks work more reliably. Maybe it'll crash and burn in which case we'll finally have the proof that larger blocks just don't cut it. Either way we're going to learn something.

This. BCC is interesting because it has large blocks, which may mean lower fees. Obviously we need to let the difficulty adjust to make it usable - but if people start using it to move money, because the fees are low, it has a future.
3151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Fuck BitcoinCash on: August 05, 2017, 12:42:13 PM
I sold it off at 0.38, now its about 0.078
Thanks God. I will never ever trading BCC.

The high prices were only there when people were trading what the exchanges had credited to them. Most people withdrew to their own wallets, and when deposits were enabled, that's when the crash came.
3152  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Have you successfully claimed your BCH ? on: August 05, 2017, 12:27:27 PM
I moved my bitcoins to Bittrex prior to teh fork, they credited the BCH immediately and I managed to sell at 0.17btc. Which is not bad. I didn't quite manage to get the really high sale prices, but I am content.
3153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Poloniex will credit BCC on or before 8/14 on: August 05, 2017, 11:21:40 AM
https://poloniex.com/press-releases/2017.08.03-Bitcoin-Cash-Update/
We will be crediting users who had BTC in their account balance at the time of the fork with matching BCH.
We appreciate everyone's patience on the matter.
- The Poloniex Team

Too late. I'm out of Poloniex, like many others, leaving to Bittrex. All this issues in the last Weeks and now this BCH handling was just too much.

Yes. I'm surprised that people stuck with Polo so long. I just hope Bittrex doesn't start to have problems due to a huge influx of customers.
3154  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BCC value? on: August 05, 2017, 10:13:32 AM
Going on 24 hours and my bcc is now at 11/20 confirmations. Even the most worthless shitcoin moves 100x better.

That is because the hashrate is adjusting from the incredibly difficult bitcoin one, to having fewer miners - give it time and it will get there.
3155  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price is now going high on: August 05, 2017, 09:39:12 AM
It might be a relief rally because people are pleased that teh fork went off so smoothly. Most of us on this board held our coins because we wanted the BCC, but some of the Wall Street types probably moved into fiat during the lead up to the fork because they didn't know how it would go. (If you've been in cryptocurrency for a few years you get used to the constant drama and ups and downs, but for investors coming in from a Wall Street background, this is volatilty and unexpected events like nothing they've known before.
3156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Possible BTC fork and implications for holding Altcoins on: July 27, 2017, 10:30:01 AM

My question is what happens to Altcoins which you're holding and paired with BTC . . . if you want to sell later down the line what do you get in exchange? BTC Core or BTC Unlimited or both?  Huh

You'd get BTC - the alt/btc pairs will still be trading. As far as I can tell, neither Poloniex nor Bittrex plan to add BCC, let alone pairs with BCC.
3157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any danger /risk having my bitcoins at Poloniex,Bitrex after 1 August ? on: July 27, 2017, 10:25:00 AM
As far as I know, the only exchange that will give holders BCC as well as BTC for their holdings, is Huobi. But I don't think people are able to deposit there - they're still under the Chinese audit/kyc thing.
3158  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC-e still down, Russian arrested in Greece on: July 27, 2017, 10:18:40 AM
If it is really the btc-e guy and if the authorities get the money/cryptos from btc-e, are they forced to pay it back to btc-e users?

I don't think the authorities will be able to get any money from btc-e - they appear to be moving their servers. Also - in the event the Feds actually manage to seize btc-e - people would have to prove they own accounts before being able to access them. What are the chances of that?
3159  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason why BTC-E users will not get their money back on: July 27, 2017, 10:14:59 AM
I don't know how many people used their real information for registering account on BTC-E, since majority used the exchange because of its lack of AML/KYC policies. Tough to claim your funds and prove your fund source to begin with, even if there were any money left for the victims.

Yes. And also, nobody knows exactly who owns BTC-E - was it Vinnik, or was it friends of his. And where are they moving the servers? No-one knows which means the ability of customers to get their coins is precisely zilch.
3160  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Making a living from signature campaigns, is it possible? on: July 21, 2017, 03:55:32 PM
You can't make a living out of signature campaigns. But if you are going to post on bitcointalk anyway, you might as well sign up, and collect whatever they pay, which you can then reinvest or trade or whatever.
