3142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you play Slots? (long sessions / jumper / focussed) on: August 31, 2022, 09:20:13 AM
~ It's a common way of playing slots whereas you play with a minimal amount and try to win or even make your game longer to have a better chance of winning the jackpot. In this way, you can maximize the enjoyment and fun while not caring if you lose as you've only bet for a small amount. It's not a great strategy though if you want to win a lot but it's a great way to enjoy the game and avoid gambling addiction and such.

Right, and that's why it's an amazing strategy. Trying to make your living playing slots is the most stupid thing you can imagine. And since to become a gambling addict is not impossible, it's dangerous too. But having fun while betting with small amounts is a nice thing to do for your relaxation, and you can win, say, 940x of your bet(my personal record, happened not long ago), and that feels really good, although much smaller wins, like 20x and 30x of your bet also can charge you with positive energy for the entire day.

I think gambling depends entirely on luck. There are some people who have a good attitude towards gambling. I don't have much experience. I think gambling can make a person rich in a short period of time. Similarly, a person can destroy everything in a short period of time. I think it is better to stay away from gambling. If someone plays it for fun then it is fine for him.
I have made it this particular analysis of gambling some months ago because I noticed that no matter your prediction and gambling the only thing that accomplish it so come to reality is lock. Because I've seen some people who played it very well about a game but at end of it they lose the game it's not all about the thing they predicted is wrong from human imagination but based on luck they lose their prediction. What I'm trying to say in quote is that gambling is a game of little chance.

Luck plays a big role in gambling, no doubt about that. But we shouldn't forger that it plays a different role in different games. Some games, such as dice, keno, plinko etc, are purely luck based, while others, like poker and sports betting, require some skills in order to be successful. You can still lose in those games because of bad luck, but there's a good chance, not a "little chance", like you said, that you'll be in profit in the long run, if you possess the required skills.
3145  Economy / Economics / Re: The BTC price must stabilize in the long run. on: August 30, 2022, 10:54:29 AM
I absolutely think bitcoin's price will stabilize in time just be patient. Right now there are many factors contributing to BTC volatility. First, we are probably entering a recession due to massive government overspending and general mishandling of the pandemic.
Furthermore, the war in Ukraine has shaken the world economy up and it will take time for things to blow over. BTC price will be in a completely different place when the market conditions change. I just try and remain patient. I’m holding long anyway so I don’t even look at my wallet these days.

I agree with you. In times when everything around is very unstable, we can't expect something as volatile as BTC becoming stable all of a sudden. In times like these, people are selling their assets to cover their food needs and stuff, and Bitcoin is not an exception. But no pandemic and no war can last forever. Better times will come.

Honestly you guys are INSANE, I wouldn't be able to pass over 5k in wagering, let alone do these. I would be probably more around 1k if I tried. I am on a vacation right now and just wanted to check whats going on and saw these, I am not gambling at the moment and I am glad that I am not Cheesy I would be tiny kitten against you guys, you guys are lions in this jungle and I haven o place. I would love to see someone in bitcointalk to earn some big major wins, that would be a lot better because that way someone we know and like would have a chance to win something which makes me happier than some stranger as well.

I'm sure you could do it if you were trying to.  I could see making a lot of tiny low risk last minute live bets on sporting events, or tiny bets on the player vs player games.  Not sure if you'd come out ahead in the end even with a bonus, but it's not like you need to risk $5,000 on a single slot pull.  This is just a guess, but I imagine that many of the people who play for bonuses are mainly concerned with how to get their volume up without taking major losses.

Imo, people winning in wager races are those that would wager such amounts anyway, with or with a contest. I think for anyone ending up in the top 5,000 positions, the prize is just a nice bonus, that is much lower than what they won/lost along the way. That is my impression. I myself have never won a wagering contest, except on newly opened sites with very small number of participants. And in this particular race, after $38 wagered,

I'm taking 203,401st position. This tells something about the site's overall turnover, doesn't it? What can I say? Bravo, Stake!

As for the prizes being insignificant in comparison to what the prize recipients win/lose, idk, it's just my theory, So, please, correct me if I'm wrong.
3147  Economy / Gambling / Re: The Biggest Wins with lowest risks in Casino History on: August 30, 2022, 09:27:13 AM

All the winners in the OP's example were spending from 30 cents to $50, not big money for anyone living in the West. So, it wasn't a "biggest risk", if you ask me.

This formula, "the more money you can potentially win, the higher the amount you have to put at risk", is true when you are betting on Red/Black in Roulette, but in slots and lottery, it doesn't work like that.
They spent small money, but we know just about money they used for winning. I think that they spent more money without winning. But you`re right about the risk, if we are talking about the bet. If we can know the chance of such a win for a such sum - the percent will be really scanty.

You mean, they spent more money than the jackpot amount? More than $18 million, or $40 million? I don't think so.

There are a lot of such cases among slot players. When they win, say, $1k, we all know that they have probably lost more than that previously. But with slots or lottery jackpots it's rarely the case. People normally don't have such money.

After the initiation of Faucet where traders were gifted 5 btc each,
5 btc is quite a lot now, reading this is making me wish I was one of the beneficiaries. I was curious after reading this and made some research of my own to see if this early bitcoin exchange faucet developed into another current day exchange, but couldn't find any information to that end. Any information on that?

I would bet a dollar you would have sold all your btc at the first all time high Wink,~

That's what I heard too. Many of the early adopters sold everything they had at the point of the price reaching like 50x or 100x compared to what it was when they first entered the game. I can't blame them, I would surely do exactly the same thing. Only now I know that when dealing with BTC, it is better to not sell everything at once. Keep 20%, at least, just in case it will cost much more in 2 years than the 80% you are selling today.

3150  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is a game you would like to see in an online crypto casino? on: August 29, 2022, 12:02:21 PM
Hey Bitcointalkers,

What games do you like to play (mobile, board games, easy game with friends, etc.) that you would love to see put into an online casino for real betting?

There have been a lot of successful yet simple games in online casinos like Heads or Tails, Over/Under, and more. We are looking to see what games you guys love and wonder if we can turn them into an online betting game!

I think monopoly will be more interesting if it is used as a part of betting, because as we know monopoly is a fairly easy game and where every player can face each other in a player vs player game. so the level of prowess and luck will appear real

this is just hope

Imo, monopoly is a great game for friends and relatives, who came together to spend time just to relax. It's important to sit around one table, in real life, for this board game.

But they used to say the same things about poker, and look at online poker now. So, who knows?

I'm not certain if the proposed Akon City in africa, linked to the cryptocurrency akoin, ~

I think it's not linked to akoin. If you google it, you get this result:

and I personally believe it.

~
There are interesting and innovative ideas being proposed. The saudi arabia project is constructed around a mass transit length of rail. Built above the surface of the desert like a skyscraper. Elon Musk has discussed building a city devoted towards space exploration in texas. I was hoping UAE dubai and middle eastern real estate development would explore the viability of building cities underground to save on insulation and cooling costs. That seems like a natural progression. Interestingly enough, no one seems to like the idea.
~

Although it is very likely that a "paradise on Earth" won't be built with just following those innovative ideas, I think it's a good thing that talented people keep trying to do such things. Often, the ideas, when developed, can serve other purposes, making this world a better place.

Newcastle.. so close yet so far. This table is shaping up to be super interesting, Arsenal to lift the trophy in the end? Cheesy

I thought the same for Newcastle, judging from the great performances so far from them and from the poor performances of Wolves I did put them as winners in the predictor.

I bet on Wolves win, 2-1, and wrong too. And yet, 19 people from our pool made a perfect pick, earning 3 points with that, and 3 others predicted 0-0, which was close. Good job, guys!

Also I never thought a West Ham win would be possible but they did it finally and got out of the last place in the standings, they even had a very good odd to bet on them at 4 which I think very very few people did.

And here I was among those few predicting West Ham win:

Very proud of myself. Smiley

If only Nottingham held on to that 0-1 scoreline it would've been a nice recovery for me to end the round but still happy with how it ended. I had a bad start going down almost 10 spots at the start of the round and then going back up a few spots thanks to that draw on the Newcastle game.  Tongue

That was the only 3 pointer for me in this round

so I can't remain silent about it. Smiley

I am very curious to know how people are playing Slots.

Option A : Do you play one slot for a long time, until you hit the feature or until you win something big?
~

Yes, most of the time I'm trying to play like this, but it's not like I'm hitting something big in the end all the time. Sometimes, after losing 4-5 times more than I can easily afford to lose, I stop without reaching my goal. I would be very surprised to read about someone's always achieving their goal.

Another round of Sportsbet's Premier League Predictor on Superbru, and although I hit EXACT in the very last game,

 it didn't improve my position

What I like to see, when I click "VIEW FULL LEADERBOARD" here to see where the hell I am,

is that this time we have 60+ participants. I remember like in the last EPL Predictor we were struggling to get 50+, but ended up having 48 only. So, our numbers are growing. And that's good thing. Smiley

Overall I see that many people from Sportsbet's BitcoinTalk Pool are very good with their predictions, being either exact or close to the correct result. Wondering, if you, guys, are in some other pools too, how are you doing there?

3157  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is a game you would like to see in an online crypto casino? on: August 26, 2022, 10:39:44 AM
In fact, games on gambling platforms are quite conservative and I don't think that too complex game engines will be available in the near future, since a winning game should not last long and have some kind of complex plot.

I disagree. If the only purpose of gambling was earning money with it, then you'd be right, and we would not need other games than a simplest version of dice. And, indeed, for some gamblers it is like this, and they play dice games only. But the vast majority of gamblers are looking both for winning money and getting entertainment. And for them complex plot is a must.
3158  Economy / Economics / Re: Removal of $100 bills from circulation on: August 26, 2022, 09:57:09 AM
They also last more then 2 decades:
https://www.federalreserve.gov/faqs/how-long-is-the-life-span-of-us-paper-money.htm

So lets say they bounce it around and decide to stop printing them in 2027, which is 5 years from now. That is easily well into the 2050s before they really start to disappear.
There are still $500 and $1000 bills out there that are still legal tender, but good luck getting them out of the hands of collectors for anything close to that:

https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=%241000+bill&_sacat=0&rt=nc&LH_Sold=1&LH_Complete=1

I think my parents still have a $500 and $1000 framed set someplace. Might have gone to my sister.

-Dave

I went with the link to eBay which you provided, and there's nothing there except some paper garbage with Trump on it, that is not legal tender. But, indeed, there were large-denomination banknotes issued in the USA, you can see all of them following the link below:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Large_denominations_of_United_States_currency

And, yeah, you are right, today they cost much more than their denomination

As for removal of $100 bills from circulation, it will never happen. Not in our lifetime anyway.

Freedom of speech is not absolute. Google it. So, to keep order in our society, we have to give up our freedom to say some things. Same here with KYC on gambling sites. In order to stop money laundering, financing of terrorism and some other bad stuff we agree to give up some of our privacy. Just a little bit of it, actually. Because no one is gonna see your KYC data unless there is a police warrant.
I tend to agree since more and more we're already losing privacy due to governments, anyone even posted his address and where's his live in social media lol. I mean, they're self exposing their privacy and I think it's already become a normal habit due to flex life style. I don't think there's so much difference between centralized exchanges and casinos, after all it's had relation with crypto. If anyone really had 100% privacy concern, why they're playing on centralized casino?

Maybe we are not there yet, but I think in the future , trying to avoid gambling platforms with KYC can be dangerous. Scammers will be trying to exploit this, almost irrational, fear of losing privacy, offering platforms with no KYC.

~ Because no one is gonna see your KYC data unless there is a police warrant.
KYC has been major concern in the crypto space because people want to be anonymous so they were playing in this crypto world but then under the AML policies and all that stuff KYC was implemented so if we continue to gamble then we have to comply with the rules of that casino but this is threat to our privacy if some data breach happen our information is at risk and who knows when they see the documents.

I'm not trying to say that there's no risk, but normally your KYC data is encrypted, as far as I know.

~ Btw, how did you mange to take a look at the 60th round? The oldest I can get is LOTTERY ROUND 325.

Most probably he used the mobile version where you can add the homepage of Freebitco.in as some app.Every time I check right after the lottery has been drawn it shows the 60th round for me too.
That is plain luck and I doubt anyone of us at the forum here will ever have such luck to hit the top prize of the weekly lottery.

I finally have stopped completely buying even a single lottery ticket and these last rounds from WoF spins I have had nearly 1500-2000 tickets every week but of course as always without winning anything.

Yeah, since some time ago I'm getting my lottery tickets only from the WoF spins. I'm not buying them(although I used to in the past) and I've even disabled getting free lottery tickets with my free rolls in favour of Reward Points.

~
It also shows that a lottery is purely based on luck. You get have millions of tickets and still not be able to win any prize. Before the WOF spins, I would always buy 1 lottery ticket as you never know that you would really get lucky.

Yes, although the chances are very small, it is much better to have just one ticket than none. If I had had zero tickets for a lottery round, I'd buy one, but normally I have hundreds of them from my WoF spins.
