3141  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: February 11, 2013, 08:30:15 AM
the manipulator aspect doesn't have to be significant; all we need is a steady flow of new demand/new users which I think we can see on this site.

The fact that we rose so fast after a lot of us though we would see a correction and thus sold too early; first we are oversold; second we are 'learned' from this experience to wait till the full top which itself is a 'self fulfilling prophecy.' Last the psychological point to beat the last all time high of around $30 is another driving factor to people holding off selling.

Demand: http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=buy%20bitcoins&date=1%2F2011%2025m&cmpt=q

We are not moving fast, we are moving way slower than it should have been, the rally is deliberately slowed down, to make it sustain longer, to prevent it from turning into a bubble.

Unlike the explosion last time, this time when the reaction core got probably too hot, controlling rods were inserted to make it cool down a bit, freak out some weak hands a bit, and so on, we have seen it several times. Someone with deep pockets and great skills maybe in control,  if they want they could have wiped the mere 20000 BTC separating us from $30 long ago, but it's not in their best interest to do so.

When you will get burned you will tell me.
3142  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: New to speculation, how do i report losses/gains for income tax? on: February 11, 2013, 08:22:36 AM
You certainly cannot report losses and ask to pay less taxes for that.
3143  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: February 11, 2013, 08:00:35 AM
so let's see a show of hands...are we in a real bubble?
Yes... And this explain it pretty much well:
Heck.. With a rally like this even i am not selling my mined coins. It is like a self fulfilling prophecy. Bitcoin users want the price up, refuse to sell, and it goes up. Common sense tells me this cannot continue at such a rate yet if ppl wont sell and there are still buyers... Up it goes.
3144  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if it just doesn't go down again? on: February 10, 2013, 06:18:13 PM
We'd all be some rich motherf***ers.
And that usually never happens.

Bastava cliccare nel primo post... Ops Wink

3147  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER: board seat (equivalent of 5000 shares) for sale on: February 10, 2013, 11:22:27 AM
* Avalon (and maybe BFL) ASICs enter the game and the portion of network power will decline
In 6 months the highest cost of running an ASIC farm will be the power. Only a few entitled entities will have access to lower nm optimizations and will be able to compete.
3148  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Coinsetter - New transparent bitcoin forex trading platform intro/feedback on: February 10, 2013, 10:45:40 AM
Seems cool.

But how could one seriously trust you with their money? What stops you from running away with it?
You should deposit the amount you have on the platform to several trusted escrows.
3149  Economy / Auctions / Re: ASICMINER: board seat (equivalent of 5000 shares) for sale on: February 10, 2013, 10:13:38 AM
1/400k of the 1% of the remaining 10M BTC to be mined = 0.25BTC / share; 0.25+0.1BTC = 0.35BTC.

How can one really believe that will have more than 0.35BTC per share back?
3150  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: Il mio punto di vista su mtgoxUSD on: February 10, 2013, 09:59:44 AM

Secondo me sotto i venti, entro 2 mesi.

3152  Economy / Speculation / Re: If you had 10 million to invest... how much would you invest in btc? on: February 10, 2013, 06:58:12 AM
200k$ (2%)
I would buy and forget, checking back the investment in a few years.

There is no need to risk more, but if you have that kind of capital you already know that. One thing is earning a lot, another one is not losing...
3153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Next Thursday I will have 20 minutes to present bitcoin to 150 businessmen/women on: February 09, 2013, 06:18:31 PM
I think that the first question that you should ask yourself is, what do I want them to understand?

-the libertarian "the gov. will never be able to touch my money again" mess
-the "bitcoin is worth at least 10 times its now (possibly untrue) you should invest" stuff
-the irreversible transactions advantages
-the amazingness of giving a currency to the people

Etc etc etc.

I think that first of all you should mark a list of points.
3154  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Batch #1 Ships on: February 09, 2013, 05:44:17 PM
ok, so you have to smuggle it out of the country.
is this a assumption or a fact?

I don't know, but avalon sure makes it sound like shipping from china is adventurous or some sort of a gamble. I don't think that's true. I receive product from China usually within 2 weeks to Europe.

Maybe the Chinese government confiscated the ASICs so they can mine bitcoins.

And they are waiting for BFL to ship so that it will be a fair mining war.
3155  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Is it worth to invest in ASIC living in Europe? on: February 09, 2013, 11:58:59 AM
If you live in iceland, yes.
3156  Local / Raduni/Meeting (Italiano) / Re: Meeting a Padova on: February 09, 2013, 06:59:35 AM
Peccato, in cinque potevano sentirci meno dispersi!
Cheesy
3157  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: February 08, 2013, 08:08:45 PM
This is it, THIS is the top!
There is a Geman saying: "Even a blind hen sometimes finds a grain of corn.". => Maybe this time you are correct?
I don't think this to be the top... But hey, I would be happy of it to be!
