3142  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Bear Market thread on: May 01, 2022, 08:36:05 AM
Mukhang bear market pa rin ang trend mga kabayan. Bumaba na naman ang bitcoin below $40k, nasa $38k lang ang price ng bitcoin now.

Maaring dahil dito sa article na nasa baba, pero bag bear market talaga, down trend ang experience most of the the time.

https://time.com/nextadvisor/investing/cryptocurrency/bitcoin-price-increases/

Quote
After creeping above $40,000 earlier in the week, Bitcoin’s price fell down even further Friday to $38,300.

Several factors — such as rising inflation, geopolitical crises, and change in monetary policy —  continue to drive extra short-term volatility to the crypto and stock markets. The crypto market has increasingly tracked the stock market in recent months, which makes it even more intertwined with global economic factors.

Minutes from the Fed’s March meeting last week showed its plan to shrink its balance sheet by $95 billion each month to combat inflation. The March consumer price index, which measures changes in the cost of food, housing, gasoline, utilities, and other goods, rose by 8.5% from a year ago — the largest inflation surge since 1981. The war in Ukraine also continues to contribute to increased market volatility.

“Like all risk assets, crypto prices this year have been disproportionately driven by the war in Ukraine, inflation, and the outlook on Fed Policy (particularly the taper schedule),” says Ben McMillan, CIO at IDX Digital Assets. “So while we’re seeing crypto prices at relatively attractive prices on a longer-term outlook, there could still be considerable downside in the near-term.”
3143  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Warriors vs Grizzlies 2nd round discussion on: May 01, 2022, 08:22:45 AM
I'm leaning on the Warriors even though the Grizzlies pulled off some crazy 4th quarter comebacks against the Timberwolves multiple times I don't think they can do the same thing against the Warriors who are more experienced in closing out games given their previous playoff experiences. The odds seem a bit close only because the Grizzlies have 4 games at home but IMO that doesn't matter when you're up against one of the most experienced teams in the playoffs.

Warriors are good at taking care of their big leads, no way Memphis would do that to the Warriors.
If Memphis would want to beat the Warriors, they need to focus on their defense as well because the Warriors have shooters that has a high FG percentage.

Game 1 will start tomorrow morning, too early but I'm gonna watch it.

by the way @OP, series odds are already out, please check on your bookie.
3144  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: May 01, 2022, 06:25:05 AM
^ True, they are at lost in the last couple of minutes, they are in the lead but then Edwards and KAT are throwing 3's? They put up a good defense against Ja but it's not enough as they allowed offensive rebounds. They have a good chance to win this series or force game 7, but they blew it away. Gonna be hard for the team after this game.

It just shows that the Wolves is not really built for the playoffs as their star players making costly mistakes in the end, as you have said shooting for the outside, he could have post up and maybe get a foul but instead KAT, shooting and wanted to close the Memphis but he misses badly.

For the series I will favor the Warriors, but maybe Grizzlies can win game one?

They can win a game but I'm not sure if it's game 1 or 2. LOL.
It's hard to predict as the Warriors could dominate any team, they even almost swept the Nuggets if Thompson was not in early foul trouble in game 4.

Not ours to conclude it will be depending on how Warriors and Memphis will play in this series.

But basing from the way both teams played from that last first round series, Warriors do have that capability to dominate
the game, if that same level of GSW, it will be a tough series for Memphis to face.

Splash bros plus Poole and Wiggins small line up who can play 2-way and with Green who's so demanding we will go to
witness how offense again will be the good defense, old style GSW..

All the starters of the Warriors are a threat, Draymond may not score much but he is facilitating the ball sometimes and that would open up a lot of shooters. They have in this situation many times before, and for sure that Warriors will not miss this opportunity to win a championship now that they are back fully healthy again.
3145  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: May 01, 2022, 05:53:12 AM

Masyadong maraming binigay na second-chance points yong Wolves sa Grizzlies in the fourth quarter kaya nagkaganon.

3147  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 30, 2022, 06:35:29 PM
What do you guys think, is this planned all along by the opposing team? I hope not but it's also hard to deny not to look that way because Butler and his camp has been throwing rocks all along even before Casimero haven't caught in the act. I have read in the past that Probellum's main boy is Butler and with Casimero on the same roof would definitely cause rivalry that only one will continue to rise.

It's impossible that it's a stage and planned. The rules and terms about using the sauna are already there for a long.

There's clear evidence that Casimero's camp violates, how can that be staged? We should blame the whole Casimero camp here including Casimero itself since how come they don't have any idea about the rules of British Boxing.

Lesson learned that they should always be aware of the boxing terms in any region. Ignorance of the terms excuses no one even the boxer involved is a champion.

Exactly and I do agree that their ignorance is not an excuse because their team is consists of professionals especially Casimero, they should be fully aware that doing those actions could lead to a dangerous situation as every country has it's own set of rules to follow.

I know that Casimero is not the first one to do it but the fact that he's caught in the act is really a heavy evidence just because there's a dumb person in his camp. The damage has been done and they should just take that as a lesson rather than making some speculations that doesn't really make sense.
3148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]: RYAN GARCIA vs EMMANUEL TAGOE - April 9 on: April 30, 2022, 06:09:24 PM

This is what i like and truly acceptable on which a boxer who do really admits on something that he lacks on a particular fight rather than on evading or trying out to deny that he had done his best. Its true that it is
some sort of boastful kind of claims on taking down Tagoe in 3-4 round but it didnt happen and pretty much sure that Garcia itself was fully aware on how things been doing and what he do really lacks.
Ring rust might they say neither it would be true or not but at least he do made out some realization now.

At least he knows when to humble himself down and admit that he is not that fully back to be the knockout specialist again, but he did knock down Tagoe on the 2nd round despite Tagoe being a pain in the eyes in the ring often times, but Garcia didn't finished the fight somewhere in 3 or 4 rounds just like what he said before the fight schedule. Either way, I don't also think that Tagoe can defeat Garcia in any way. He just fighting for money and not to open more doors in his career.
You do see that Tagoe is just too scared basing or just looking on his facial experience and on how he moves which is really that obvious and its true that Tagoe isnt here for the win but rather for the money
that he would able to get on this fight or simply he had realized on first round that he cant beat up Garcia in terms of speed and power but still surprisingly that Tagoe does have that stamina
to last until the last round but well if you do make some running all the time then its not really that surprising to last that long.
I guess we expected something from Tagoe because he is like a mystery to me as he is not that known but according to his record, he is a decent and pretty much can bring out the best of Garica, unfortunately we got the opposite of it.

Well, his only goal is to grab that much money from fighting Garcia and he made it. I was just not impressed by the result of the match.
3149  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Celtics vs Bucks 2nd round Series. on: April 30, 2022, 05:30:03 PM
If you would based your bet off with the previous matches of this teams, then Bucks has the upper hand as they won 6 games out of their 10 matches. But if you would based off from the current situation, Celtics is indeed having the momentum here as Bucks is down with one of their great players. Even other bettors agrees that Celtics' performance is great and promising now as Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown are their current carries. I see a Celtics win here in this series.

It’s also important to consider on what team each player beat prior to this upcoming matchup, Celtics sweep Nets which is the crowd favorite while Bucks 4-1 Bulls which is far more weaker than Nets, Nets just have a low standing because there star player just recently came back late for the regular season. Celtics is surely has the upper hand base on the stats but as usual Giannis is incredible during playoffs which might give an upset game for Celtics.

I get what you're saying but this round is different because the Celtics is up against the defending champion who's star player can really be unstoppable if he chooses it to be that way. But yes, let's consider their last opponent which was Nets for the Celtics. Gotta give that credits for the Celtics especially Tatum for stopping the unstoppable duo of the Nets but we can't forget that the Nets is very vulnerable on their defensive which gave them an advantage to pour huge scores.

All I can say was Tatum improves a lot this year. I believe they will be beaten up by Nets if they are still playing like there performance last that full arrogance and has no clutch time experience. The current Boston roster is an improved version of last year. They already gain much experience to close a series without choking. I think they have the best shot to be on finals on East rather than Bucks since Bucks is fully dependent on Giannis. It will need a full hype Giannis to beat Boston to a 7 match series.

They surely have learned their lesson last year when the Brooklyn Nets have eliminated them in the first round with a 4-1 standing, they were not that hungry last year too that's why the Nets have took them down that easy. But this year, fate have matched them again and the result was opposite from what happened last year and they even swept the Nets now.

The match-up of Boston Celtics vs Milwaukee Bucks is indeed interesting to see.
3150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your NBA Champion this season? on: April 30, 2022, 05:07:09 AM
It's going to be one of the first years in which neither team is really a favorite. Of the 8 that remain, 8 really have a chance. I don't put any one step ahead, I think the champion will depend more on what style you play the least bother you play against.

(I know that the 8th team remains to be defined, but whether it is Memphis or Minnesota, it does not change what I think)
I hate to disagree but there's also lot of team now who is also favorite to win this season that have survived the first round of eliminations like the Milwaukee Bucks, Phoenix Suns and especially the Golden State Warriors who have the most edge and the healthiest team in the league right now. It's quite premature to tell which of these favorite teams will survive in the Semis and will go to the Finals.

The Memphis Grizzlies have already closed the series today and defeated the Minnesota Timberwolves.
3151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Davis vs Romero: May 28 on: April 30, 2022, 03:27:32 AM
When I saw Gervonta Davis for the first time, I thought is was just another rap singer. But turns out he is a boxer. A very good boxer indeed.

Can someone explain, why Rolando Romero is such an underdog in this fight and there is such a huge gap in odds? Coz Davis fought more experienced boxers and is more experienced? From wikipedia info, both of them have 0 losses, which makes them identically good.

Is it because of his skin color and aura that's why you assumed he's a rapper? I hope that's not the reason.

You already answered your question on why Romero is the underdog and why not Gervonta Davis, yes both have a clean record but Davis have more than Romero and he defeated much heavier names in the industry than Romero who's just picking a fight that he think he can defeat. The latter is not like that, just look at their past opponents. You'll see more famous names on Davis's rapsheet rather than Romero's.
3152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] George Kambosos vs Devin Haney - Undisputed Lightweight Title - June 5 on: April 30, 2022, 02:54:39 AM
It's looks like the voting is tie, 12 a piece. So definitely, boxing bettors are not to sure in this fight. Maybe there will be fans of Kambosos because of his huge win against Lopez or Haney because he has the ability to play defense and could survived George power early as he can turtle and try to break Kambosos mentally in this fight. So we will see, definitely an exciting match for us.
This is surely an exciting fight because people believe that it's not only a one-sided fight. Both are champions, so it's a fair match although Kambasos is the underdog per betting sites. Beating Lopez is not easy but Kambasos were able to do that, it was a bloody fight but he survive and won the fight.
Yes, they are both champions with no stains in their respective records and in this fight only one will survive as a draw is somehow not possible on this fight (hope so). Anyways, I'm still eyeing whom would I choose as they are both dominant and have a different skill set that is unique to each other, guess I'll pick few days before the fight schedule.

Isn't it hard to pick as to who is going to be the winner?
Both are good champions in their own right and Haney seems to be the favorite. But George has some serious power and dominant against Lopez.
Maybe I will take the same route, I will not bet early, I still have to look at them at the weigh in and see as to who is not intimidated per their body language. No need to rush our bets here.
Maybe it is a bit to early for him to decide and as for me, I haven't picked which side I will go too as it is still to early and there's no pressure really as we still have more than 1 month to decide which one. Yes, I'm also looking forward on their weigh-in as there will be some glimpse on which is more dominant by just looking at them doing a face to face.
I guess I can honestly say that it is really that hard for me to choose between these two boxers who have their own skillset but no pressure because the fight is still over a month from this time of writing. I'm still giving myself some time to have some opinion while grabbing my own research to have my boy in this fight, but at this point I'm thinking I'd go for Haney.
3153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Inoue vs Donaire II discussion on: April 29, 2022, 06:59:40 PM
Donaire should continue to work harder, if he have train hard in his previous fight, he has to double it as Inoue as a monster is a different animal.
There's no doubt that he's doing it. He's a responsible and dedicated one and that's for sure that he's doubling his work at his training now. The discipline that he's putting into his training is a must.
This is like his last match before he retires so basically, he's going to give his all in on this match if not then he can still continue with another one win before he announces retirement.
Yeah, for sure he had trained harder before, but Inoue is too much for him. But after his lost, Donaire has bounce back and then won a belt.

So if Donaire is thinking about retiring, then definitely he wanted to end it with a good note and hopefully he can beat the best boxers in their division. Because he has done that during his prime and it seems that he has gotten his second wind. So he will focus more and train hard for this Inoue, if he falls short again, maybe time for him to retire for good.

I think regardless of the outcome of this match, he has to retire already. I mean, if he wants to retire as a champion and he is lucky to beat Inoue, then that's it because there's no other best boxer in that division than Inoue. However, if he loss and think of bouncing back, I think it's not a good idea since it will take time to have a chance to fight Inoue which he is not getting any younger anymore.

I do agree, it's time for Inoue to retire because he has been in many wars already, brings glory to him and his family and to the Philippines. Maybe this is one challenge that he need to take as a boxer before hanging his gloves. And it ever he wins, there are a lot of young fighters that will come after him and we don't want to see him getting brutally knock out at the end of his career. He can passed the torched to many Filipino fighters, he has done his share, him and Manny Pacquaio.

You mean Donaire to consider retirement if he will beat Inoue this time.

I also agree with that because he is already old enough to do some exhausting preparations prior to the fight and he should really give some way for other young aspiring Filipino boxers like Casimero, Magsayo and etc. Pacquaio passed down his torch to him and know I think it is time to pass that same torch again. But let's consider that he indeed beat Inoue, I think that the latter will force some way for a trilogy though.

3155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: April 29, 2022, 02:18:29 PM

Golden State Warriors -10.5 @2.22

Maximizing the risks since I think they will end the series later on with the BANG.

Not much analysis is involved. Simply, I only refer to the Warriors' Game 1 and 2 dominance playing at Chase Center (former Oracle Arena) where they end up beating the Denver Nuggets with a huge lead.

Good luck to all.

I loved it, though I only got -9 but I like the -10.5 as well, better odds for you and I believe that the Warriors will dominate to end the series. Just like what is happening in the first game, the Warriors will win and cover the spread.

Unfortunately, Golden State Warriors just managed to breach the Denver Nuggets' lead in the 4Q. I really thought that they will close the series with a big lead like what they did playing at their home arena back in Games 1 and 2. I placed a good amount here and have no choice but to move on lol and prepare for the next set of games especially in my much-awaited Dallas Mavericks vs Utah Jazz game tomorrow.

Yes, Nuggets figure out how to beat the Warriors but it's still not enough. I'm happy for Cousins because he tallies his best record in the playoffs and that quite guarantees that his contract with the Nuggets will be longer. If not for him, maybe the Warriors have already dominated the game.

About the Dallas vs Jazz game, I would place by bet on the Dallas, they are in control of this series, and Luka being able to play very well, they should close the series tomorrow.

Yeah, GSW is too much for Jokic to conquer, although Jordan Poole has some sort of so-so performance in his last 2 games, Steph carry the team again.

And I agree with the Dallas vs Jazz series, Luka is just toying with the defense of the Jazz on him. He is still unstoppable and this could have been done already if not for Luka not playing in the first 2 games. This could have been a sweep.

Congrats to those who won today.

Yup, Jazz was that fortunate because they could have made Luka's absence to their advantage while he is still injured but the remaining roster of Dallas was still giving them a hard time every game and won a game even if Luka wasn't there. But when Luka arrived the scene they are completely destroyed when he poured 30 points.

For the GSW, it's hard to deny their edge this season especially with the healthy Splash bro and o fcourse with Poole as their new asset on the court that can be deadly too in the deep.
3156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Davis vs Romero: May 28 on: April 29, 2022, 01:34:51 PM
^ He has a good chance to score a knock out as long as his hands are not to get broken again as compare to his last fight that's why he didn't score a knockout.

But you have to give Romero some respect of bad mouthing the champion, big balls and hope he can back his trash talk in the ring and not just fight to survived and get his biggest paycheck.

That is usually the case though, up and coming fighters wanted to trash talk the champion in order to generate a fight. I think Floyd Mayweather thinks that Romero is special that's why he is willing to have him fight Tank Davis.

So we will see come fight not, yes he has the balls, but we are not sure if he can back it up and make the fight very entertaining at least.

Floyd Mayweather knows how to run his business, even at the time when he was still a boxer, he is already good at promoting the fight, now that he is a promoter, that is easy for him. Floyd would love his boxer to remain undefeated, but at the same time to generate money in a fight and I think Romero is a good match to generate a decent money.

I definitely agree! We have seen Mayweather numerous times that he can truly handle this kind of business even when he is still active on the sport and having a good clean record makes him one of the most sought after promotions as he can give you that sure fights that would surely generate huge cash flows in the future.

3158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING]: RYAN GARCIA vs EMMANUEL TAGOE - April 9 on: April 27, 2022, 08:03:44 AM
Well, the truth is that I don't know why this fight has caused such a stir in the world of oxeo, however what we need to remember is that Garcia won, that if Tagoe did or didn't, that he almost won that he almost didn't win, the one who won was Garcia and that is something that must be respected, no matter how much discussion or debate there is, those are the results, many lost because I know that Tagoe promised for this fight, sometimes I even thought he was going to win, but Garcia prevailed.

That's how boxing is, sometimes whoever has the best technical foundation wins, whoever hits the best or whoever does the knockout, for now you have to accept the results, this is what it is.

People tend to forget that this fight is for Garcia and for Garcia only, it ain't about Tagoe having a chance to beat up the young boxer because in the first place, Garcia's camp and Oscar Dela Hoya have picked Tagoe for a reason because they knew that Garcia is in need of a win after his lay-off and of course after the Garcia-Campbell fight. Now that Garcia have won, the camp has made a correct decision for that.

Some people didn't forget about that fact because just like me, it was just we just hoped too much for Garcia that we could see some KO or impressive fight from him as he's already confident enough to fight again on his recent interviews and for that we expected something like the way he used to fight in the past years. Unfortunately, we didn't get what we expected but yes, a win is a win.
I agree but let us still give credits to Ryan Garcia for winning versus Emmanuel Tagoe even if it is by decision, he gave his best to give the people they want and tried to KO Tagoe but it did not happen and he also admitted that he is not also satisfied on his performance.

That is already good enough for me because he is humble enough to admit it, now he will be more determined to get back in his rhythm.

Congratulations to the Nets for being the only team to be swept in the first round of the 2021-2022 season. I thought it would be the Bulls but they did better Grin What do you think about Nash's performance as a coach in this series? I thought they had a decent squad to push the Celtics but it looks like he's been outplayed by Udoka.

Boston is just strong enough Nets. Nets don’t have reliable center to protect the hoof and at the same time get an offensive rebound unlike Boston with so strong Theis, Even only his presence will make attacker very uncomfortable. Nets is not that strong this year, They are just hype because of Durant and Irving duo but besides that, they are nothing. I’m excited on Milwaukee and Boston matchup!

Coaches actually have a huge impact on team losses and wins. If Steve Nash just put all necessary pieces on the court, it could've been resulted into a different outcome rather getting swept. Boston is one of the most talented team in the NBA today. But I know for sure that the Nets could've done better than that. Man, they have Dragic, Irving, Durant, and they have good supporting players. Boston just executed better than Nets both defensively and offensively.
I'm not gonna be surprised If Nash will separate ways with Brooklyn after this off season.

Can't help but to laugh when I bump into these kind of discussions that the respective coaches of the favorite teams to win this season will be blamed after they lost and worse got swept in the series.

Folks, Steve Nash may have those mistakes but we cannot really blame him at all because even if he have those players players, he cannot really hold what the future brings upon just like Kevin Durant's injury early season and Harden forcing himself in the trade and they also have Irving who puts himself first before the team. Steve Nash cannot control those things, all of them had it coming for them that's why the Celtics made an easy way in the next round.

This fight may not surprised everyone if Davis will take the lead in the bet knowing he has held multiple world championships, so he's definitely more experienced than Romero. But even so, we can't have the full guarantee that he'll be able to score a knock out with Romero, but i guess that's most of the audience wanted to witness. Well then, only the ring will tell it all, be it Davis or Romero for the win.

Only the ring can really tell if who's going to be the winner in this fight, knowing that upset also present in this sport, though I'm also with Davis here to remove everything between him and Romero, for gamblers who loves to ride with high odd pick, betting with Romero might ring the bell for them, it's a chance that maybe slim but a lucky combination of punches may give them the win that they are waiting, who knows? maybe Romero has that luck and takes this one from Davis. Roll Eyes Cool

The ring and the judges, LOL.

Well, as long as the fight is exciting, I'm okay with that already although I really think that Davis will just dominate Romero.
However, since I love surprises, I liked to see how the trash talker Romero would do his job inside the ring.

The judges, if the scores will reach them but since both boxers are knockout specialist then we might see a knockout on this one rather than a decision. Romero is the underdog here and yes the odds on him are indeed juicy but he is against the Tank Davis who's record is untouchable after having 26 bouts in his career and his experience will play more on how he would dance towards Romero. This fight will be interesting to see!
