3141  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: December 26, 2021, 02:28:01 AM
Very intriguing match, I mean Thurman is away from boxing for 2 years and finally decided to come back because there's a lot of fights around not involving him. So I guess it's enough for him to make a comeback and put his name into the discussions again. But what intrigues me is the fighter he chooses to make a comeback, he is a 140 lbs trying to get a feel of 147 lbs. So this is going to be an easy fight for Thurman.
3142  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UNREALIZED PROFIT IS TECHNICALLY NOT YOUR MONEY on: December 25, 2021, 09:59:49 AM
Merry Christmas to you too.
I took all my profits for this year and put it all in Bitcoin while it's still cheap. Yes, some may say it is not yet profit because it is still not cash but for me it's different. As long as I can hoard more Bitcoin in every process/service that I do then I consider it a winning situation.
It may not be cash but it's an asset that most investor would look out to buy even for the next 10 years.

Didn't ride that Shiba craze but this NFT trend had done a lot of good things to me. Most of my investments where lucky enough to be double and tripled. This year is something to remember.

Same here, I just put it all in Bitcoin and I would say it's all good despite the fact that it will downward spiral after hitting all time high. And still going to continue to hold as long as I can, maybe take a fraction if needed.

As for the Shiba and other meme coins, I'm also late so didn't get in and I don't want to stress myself with all this meme coins so I'm just happy with my Bitcoin investments so far.
3143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to invest in a possible Bear market? on: December 25, 2021, 09:20:06 AM
Base on experienced? I would say still the best altcoin in the top10-20. Because once they really went down hard during the bearish trend, it's better to fill your bags again and then wait for the next bull run in about 3 years.

Look at the price of Ethereum, during it's worst year in 2018, the price is less than ~$100.

And see what the price is doing today, not sure how much % is the increase, but for sure it will give you that huge profits down the road, if you buy them at the bear market and hold on it.
3144  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A supermarket in Mexico now allows Bitcoin payments for all their items on: December 25, 2021, 08:58:42 AM
This is how One day, the whole world will accept bitcoin. Everywhere we go, every grocery store, every payment section, we will see bitcoin payment options like our currency, and they will not ask for money; instead, they will simply say "please pay with bitcoin," or the customer may request the bitcoin QR code. And I believe that this will happen, guaranteed. We just have to wait for that day. I know it will take time, but it will happen. And the bitcoin price that day, you can't even imagine it.

But let's not get ahead of our selves here, this is just one store and it's in Mexico.

If this is a US based and big store, maybe it's enough to bring significant hype around it. But I don't think this is enough to push the price or even bring it closer to adoption though. It might take years to accomplished it and we need some big name stores to spear head, maybe like Amazon or some big retail stores in the US to bolsters Bitcoin image as payment scheme.
3145  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs. Ilunga Makabu on: December 25, 2021, 07:51:03 AM
Agree with that, because he won't become an undisputed champion if he is not seriously training in every game. I see him as a good example of a boxer, the discipline is there and he is very ambitious to achieve his goal, I mean he is trying to make history here and since he is still young, I expect him to achieve more success in the long run.

Canelo Alvarez vs. Ilunga Makabu is a good ifght to witness, but just like a regular fan, I'm going with Canelo who never fails to amazed me.

Canelo has a fighting spirit that always leads him to a victorious fight and that's why also he became the undisputed champion at the present time. Leveling up from his current division to CW will be going challenging for Canelo but for sure he and his team have been assessing and analyzing already if Canelo would be fit to level up his division. It is also undoubtedly that Canelo Vs. Makabu will be going to be one of the anticipated fights, it will going to be challenging for both fighters but like many of us here I am also going to be with Canelo.

I don't know if it is true, but I read that Canelo was surprised to see that his trainer Eddie Reynoso proposes this fight during the WBC convention. So it really didn't come from Canelo itself, but the idea was Reynoso from the beginning.

But Canelo is his student so maybe he can't complain what the teacher wanted from his student. But for sure he knows Canelo's ability and he knows that he can win this fight in CW.
3146  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ancajas vs Ioka Dec 31 on: December 25, 2021, 04:07:48 AM

Yes, exactly, so the delays have a 50/50 effect on the boxers, just look at the Lopez vs Kambosos fight, the fight was delayed and then Kambosos was more resilent that's why he upsets Lopez by a big win.

Not saying the case will be the same here, but the delays will have a big psychological impact on this boxers because they have trained enough to peak for the schedule and then suddenly everything will change just like that.

The delays or the rescheduling of the fight gives a considerable amount of time to fighters to condition their body and mind on their upcoming fight but also at the same it reduces the momentum or the eagerness of the fighter to win the fight. As I have remembered most of the time once the fight is rescheduled or delayed it ended up canceled but I do hope this case will be just like the fight of GGG and Murata since this fight was also scheduled to be held in Japan but was rescheduled too because of covid.

I think still favors Jerwin here, I mean he doesn't need to get his body used to the cold December weather in Japan as this was raised earlier in the discussions.

If the fight is still going to be held in Japan but push back, then winter is over and Ancajas who is used to warm weather might not need to go to rigorous adjustments as the winter might be over when the fight is rescheduled for next year.
3147  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stop or continue trading on: December 25, 2021, 03:29:56 AM
I have lost all my capital to trading but still yet I feel the urge to trade more, I spent a huge capital to trade some new coins recently and was actively involved in spot trading. But recently I lost all my capital and I decided to give a break but now am feeling I should return back to trading.

We can't decide for you mate, the final decision is yours. Do you think it's logical to come back after a huge lost? Or try to make it easy for yourself and sit down and see where it went wrong on your end? At the end of the day it's your money, but if I'm in your shoes, I will stay out of the game for now and enjoy and spend the holidays with my families so not to stress yourself at the end of the year.

Maybe next year, when you are rejuvenated and everything, then maybe you can start trading slowly again and win some and not make the same mistakes again.
3148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: December 25, 2021, 02:46:29 AM
So far we have seen a lot that the average boxer from the Philippines is always troublesome to his opponent because they are equipped with stamina and good hitting resistance.
I guess Russell will know this and he won't be able to relax now.
although his ability is quite good and he is one of the boxers who is quite complex and his abilities are evenly distributed in speed, strength and IQ in the ring he is also good but the problem of resting too long still still doubts the gamblers.
I think he should now be where he should practice and start honing his skills at this point
Russell is regulary training himself even though he didn't fight with anyone, I think he just make himself is ready whenever the fight declared... so he won't underestimating Magsayo. Yep he's take a break for 2 years now, previously he only one per year, he just want to fight if there's a challenger.

The best PH boxer right now is Donaire, but sadly he's lose from Inoue. There're no PH boxer which is good like Pacquiao, probably we'll see in the next decade(s).

And take note that Donaire is ageing mate, so PH boxers needs to step up their game so that they will have a continues stream of world boxing champions. I don't see anyone coming up like Pacquiao though, not even in the next decade.

Anyhow, Magsayo could be one of the next breed of PH boxers to make a name for himself, so he needs a good win against one of the best in the division. And he is an American, so defeating him will make more recognizable I would say.
3149  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Historical Bitcoin Prices😊 on: December 25, 2021, 02:11:36 AM
Yes, based on the historical price of Bitcoin every end of the year, there is a huge increase and this year is no exception, we even have 2x all time high in 2021, that alone speaks the magnitude of the increase specially after halving years.

So we might look at the next 2-3 halvings and see how the price will grow again. Not saying that the pattern will continue, but at least we have a picture of the possible growth it will have in the next 10-12 years.
3150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: GGG vs Murata - Reschedule on: December 23, 2021, 06:11:58 AM
Unfortunately, it is what it is, and yes, no need to change the venue of the fight. The promoters have invested their money already here. And they are not going to just move the venue somewhere else because it will involved another set of money that they can't recoup.

I'm not really sure who set up this fight and why in Japan, I reckon the deal was brokered by Murata's manager that's why it will be held in their country. Nonetheless, it's a good choice because Japanese loves their boxers as they think of them as national hero's too. But as you have said, their government has really to do this measures not to allow any sporting events in their country to prevent the spread of the new Covid-19 variant so the fight should wait a bit.
3151  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: December 23, 2021, 05:45:08 AM
^^ I don't think that China will give in to these pressures from WTA and the whole tennis organizations. There are even reports that Peng Shuai has disappeared or at least not seen in public after her revelation. And we all know how authoritative the government are, so I doubt it will have an effect on them in my opinion. Meaning, they won't do any investigations and the accused might go free because he is a high ranking government official now.

I believed otherwise, that authoritarian regime will have to give in the pressures one time or another. Specially if it involves high ranking officials? for sure they are going to look at that case. Maybe they are right now that's why they remain quiet. It might takes months or years though, so I'm expecting that maybe next year we are going to hear about this case.

I wouldn't agree with you.
First of all, this case is completely covered up in China and is not mentioned in public at all.
Even any trace of this news has been deleted on the Internet.
After announcing this news that she was raped, the Chinese tennis player disappeared from the public, and the news was deleted within a few hours.
Only after great international pressure, and the threat of international sports organizations to cancel sports competitions in China, the Chinese tennis player finally appeared in public but there is still a suspicion that she is free to do or say what she wants.
Many people make the mistake of assuming that Western democratic standards apply in China as well.
In fact, there is no real freedom in China and the Chinese Communist Party decides everything.
From their point of view, the Chinese tennis player has damaged the country's reputation and must be punished for that.
Even the cancellation of tennis tournaments in China will not change anything in such Chinese politics, where the interests of the nation are always more important than the interests of the individual.
Peng Shuai has accused a member of the Chinese party leadership of raping her, damaging the country's reputation and I personally do not believe she will ever be able to leave the country or play tennis again.

Yes, I know the state of how the government is being run in China, it's very authoritative indeed.

But I do agree that at some point in time, they will have to come clean in this one and proved that they value equal opportunity. I'm basing that they have executed even high ranking of corruption in the past so I'm betting that they will do the same in the Peng Shuai case here, so let's see how it goes.
3152  Economy / Speculation / Re: Btc ath february 2022 on: December 23, 2021, 03:45:52 AM
There’s no guarantee that Bitcoin will rise during that time especially on February that’s a Chinese new year so the spending might continue until that season and the price can be affected as well. If you want to see Bitcoin to reach that price be more patient because that huge target will always take time.
Even if China always banned Bitcoin, I still see that Chinese new year can also affect us.
There’s no specific time to reach a $100k value of Bitcoin, that’s way unpredictable and expensive that makes it more impossible to reach within 2 months. Maybe it can happen within the year of 2022 but not on February.

Or it won't happen at all in 2022 because we are going to see a bearish trend? Don't want to sound doom, but it is what it is. If we suffer a bear market next year then we won't see 6 digits and we have to wait for another 3-4 years for that to happen.

There is also an argument that we might see super cycles and reach $100,000. But I'm not sure if that is feasible at this point as the price is ~$50,000.
3153  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino account ban cases on: December 23, 2021, 03:03:35 AM
In recent times several users from this forum have complained about the account being banned on most of the casinos, so am prompt to ask what caused this situation sometimes the fault is from the casino site, and other times it is from the user itself.

It's two fold, so we can't really say who's fault it is until the facts have been laid out by one camp specially the accuser.

But mostly it the burden on the user to really shows proof that the casino has scam them, like not giving  them their winnings or they can't withdraw anything because suddenly they are being ban for violating their TOS. But most of the time though, casino's doesn't want to show proof as well that they found users violating their TOS or something. They will just say that you have been banned.
3154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Errol Spence Jr vs. Yordenis Ugas 3-Belt Welterweight Unification Match on: December 22, 2021, 03:51:38 AM
I read that Ugas is a feared boxer in the 147 lbs and no one wanted to fight him. So maybe this is a step up fight for Spence, and after his surgery it looks like he is back to have another challenge and their belts are on the line.

I do hope that the winner of this will fight Crawford for the unification. Hopefully it will be Spence as the hype has been building up for a Spence vs Crawford fight.
IMO, Ugas doesn't make a feared boxer just because he defeated the boxing champion Manny Pacquiao before the man hangs his gloves. Ugas have just defeated Pacquiao by just a small gap in a unanimous decision. His KO rate is that good compared to Spence Jr.
Same here mate, I'm also rooting for Spence to win, aside from that Spence got the height and reach advantage and also Spence's moves will be enough to take Ugas down. Just my opinion.

Maybe Ugas style is very difficult, so it's a stylistic match up for anyone, even Porter have a hard time in defeating Ugas (but there are those who says that Ugas won that fight).

But in any case, I will still go with Spence here, he has all the tools to match Ugas style. It will be close but I don't see Ugas pulling a big upset in the 147 lbs.

3156  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: December 22, 2021, 01:21:28 AM
Yes, this is going to be a hard fought fight for Magsayo and it will take him a lot to win and upset Gary Russell because admit it, Russell has all the tools here. But then again, we can't discount the fact that Magsayo has power in both hands and it might make the difference here. If he has a perfect timing, then perhaps he will caught Russell when coming in and score a knock out win.

Looks like this will be the hardest fight for Mark Magsayo and he really needs to give every ounce of his strength in this one. Gary Russell has the best defensive strategy on their weight division, it's really a low percentage for him if he can land a good shot here. He needs to work on his speed because he already has the power. when fighting a strong opponent, reflexes and good defensive strategy when got caught with a hard-punching opponent is the best thing to have as a boxer. Nevertheless, I'm going to cheer for Magsayo to win this one since this will be his road to get to the top list in their weight division.

Magsayo knows this fight is very important to his career once he signs for this fight. So yes, I believed that he will give every one of his energy in the training and the actual fight itself. They really need to strategize and be perfect in executing it. Yes, definitely we will be behind Mark's back 100% in this fight and going to cheer for him and hope that he will win.
3157  Economy / Speculation / Re: Supercycle or Halving cycle still? on: December 22, 2021, 12:22:11 AM
What exactly is a supercycle though?

Is it that the market constantly rises? or is it that there wont be a notable
prolonged Bear market?

I'm leaning toward the former in my understanding, a supercycle of bullish run, and somewhat just months of bearish and then the price will continue to go on again.

Its really hard to call whether we will stay in this halving cycle or whether we
are in a supercycle, maybe if we were hovering around the ₱100,000k now I
would be leaning towards a supercycle ... but we are not near the $100,000
mark yet...

The market is still like 10 years old, data is very young and we can't extrapolate anything from it.

We just rely on the last halving and it's subsequent bull run in 2017. Sure it might have been repeating itself every 4 years, But we can't still say and we can't predict how this run will go next year.
3158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo WBC Featherweight Title on: December 20, 2021, 01:25:10 AM

Not sure about the effect on him since he has been off in boxing for 2 years.

We've seen a lot of upsets lately because of ring rust, and everyone is not immune to it.

Yes, you are right, he is mostly in the Asian scene and not a champion in the major 4 belt. But I still consider him a champion though.
the time is still quite long and it must be put to good use for training and to make good conditions for his performance and speed and sharpness he is retrained.
as you said, this has been very old and can even be compared to an item, it has been stored for a long time and has started to rust so it needs to be sharpened again so that it is like before.
I hope for something good for him but of course this now depends on the effort he puts into making the most of this time

Mark Magsayo has the edge if we are talking about who is more active in the ring, but Gary Russell is a champion, so it's hard to underestimate his capability, and though Magsayo won his last fight but he wasn't so impressive if not of that KO win. Honestly, I'm also concerned on how Magsayo will beat Russell since he hasn't fought someone like him before.

3159  Other / Off-topic / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs. Ilunga Makabu on: December 20, 2021, 12:57:26 AM
^^ I do agree, he is following footsteps of Manny by going up in weight and winning belts.

Who is following Pacquiao's footsteps? Canelo? No way. He is not the type of boxer that will follow someone. He is creating his own journey and challenging on much higher division doesn't mean he is following Pacquiao's footsteps. They are also in a different league with Pacquiao.

What Canelo achieved or will achieve is his own legacy. He respects Pacquiao but does not follow him.
why did he have to follow pacqui? I think something like this is irrelevant.
to respect each other is possible because even if we compete in the ring it doesn't mean we can't respect each other. but to imitate and follow? don't make stupid jokes like this when there are no clear facts and statements from the parties concerned

My point is that he is going up in weight we've never seen such boxers in recent memories.

And Canelo started in 154 and if he is going up in more than 30 lbs which Pacquaio did as well. And it's no joke although in the past there are a lot of boxers who also goes up in weight, but the impact that Pacquiao did is different specially for Mexico which Pacquiao has done for the Philippines. Of course he can't go to 8 weight class or even 6 because it's impossible for him to go to Heavyweight, but his accomplishments inside the ring, being pound for pound and the impact he brings and legacy (not political obviously) is similar to Manny.
3160  Economy / Economics / Re: How far is bitcoin from full adoption (100% mass adoption)? on: December 19, 2021, 02:52:43 AM
According to what I see in social media and websites and also here in the local community, I think that Bitcoin has so far achieved about 20% of the spread, but the basic idea is that mass adoption is not just about knowledge about Bitcoin, this is not enough, there must be an adoption of the concept The real Bitcoin, I mean the idea of decentralization and maintaining privacy and financial freedom, unless these things are achieved on the ground, we cannot say that we are a fortress on the mass adoption of Bitcoin, based on the extent to which these things are achieved on the ground, I see that the ratio does not exceed 1%.

I would like to tend to agree, however, it's really hard to gauge as to where we really at. Maybe 20% is a big numbers already and it might takes years to really achieved a good percentage of "mass adoption".

So I guess it will be a case to case basis, some countries might have a higher percentage than others. Personally here in our country, I would say around that ball park number as well. But I can sense that there are still a lot of room to grow here in Asia.
