Here are the next set of fixtures to be played on Tuesday 18th January 2022:

Burnley vs Watford
Brighton and Hove Albion vs Chelsea

Here is how I see the games playing out  Grin
Burnley 0-1 Watford
Brighton and Hove Albion 1-1 Chelsea

Too hard to say with Burnley and Watford.  They’re both inconsistent and it’s a mid week fixture.  Watford had a short break but Burnley didn’t play vs Leicester due to the fixture getting postponed.  So Burnley players are rested.  It could give them an edge in the second half of the match.  Watford also got 4 players injured a couple others out on international duty.  I think Watford could park the bus here and try to get what they can at the counter.  HT draw at 2.11 looks good here imo.

The reverse fixture was 1 - 1 but I can’t see Brighton scoring against Chelsea after seeing how they defended against City tbh.  Yeah KDB got one in but I don’t think Brighton could do the same...  This feels like a win for Chelsea to nil.  But a safer bet would be to go for Brighton team totals under 0.5 goals at 2.25 or something.

IDK at this point, seems to be holding pretty strong at $40K.

Maybe the days of 80% corrections after ATHs are over?

I'm still bearish personally, but it has been a great your for Crypto in general. We'll see.

But I’m kinda getting some 2018 feelz right now when everybody keeps yapping around telling everybody to ‘buy the dip’ but what they’re really doing is market selling right after.  Cheesy  But yeah, it’s either that or they’re holding and sweating, esp the guys who have bigs bag of coins in the red.

And here’s another thing, there’s prolly guys in here who bought their coins below 10k who are telling everybody else to buy their coins at 60k, 50k and soon to be 40k.

Messi wasn't singlehandedly carrying but he had the most impact on the pitch for Barcelona. We also cannot deny the impact players like Xavi, Iniesta or Neymar had but Messi had the most impact. Before Neymar and Suarez joined, he had the duty of scoring goals and he did that very well. Even scoring 91 goals in a calendar year.
(I dunno how he did that) After Neymar and Suarez joined, he moved to the right flank and assisted them with tons of goals also while he scored lots by himself.

In my opinion, this is a biased statement - Xavi and Iniesta made the greatest contribution to the team. If you remember Xavi and Iniesta won the 2008 European Championship, then the 2010 World Championship and then again the 2012 European Championship - the greatest achievement. They did it without Messi, and without them, Messi himself failed at the 2010 World Cup and then at the 2011 America's Cup.
At everytime Barcelona always has great players.
Players like Eto, Ronaldinho, Ibrahimovic, Ture Yaya, Xavi, Iniesta, Messi, Neymar, Saurez etc.
These players have their best and played their quota in making the club great.
Yet, there impacts divers based on the time they arrived, their wings and loyalty.
Xavi and I Iniesta had great impact because they span to different generations and were doing it when it seems no one else could handle the midfield.
Messi having rose to arguably the best player in the world, still remained with Barcelona in what seems like a life contract.
So, their levels of loyalty differed according to their roles and how the club made them. I think Messi was Barca made and he gave back to Barca.

Messi was actually a La Masia ‘graduate’ and moved up the ranks from the B squad then finally moved up to the first team by none other than Pep Guardiola.  I think Barca got him when he was 13 years old.  And there were some stories about him having a growth problem and Barca helped him overcome it be giving him the best medical care at the team.  So yeah...  Who wouldn’t be loyal.  The club took care of him and made him.

If it weren’t for the whole mess behind the scenes within Barca, I don’t think he would’ve left.
3164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: January 17, 2022, 03:45:40 PM
Yeesh but we had some really close calls with Brentford. Still on a knife's edge I'd say. Enjoying possession, but really careless almost arrogant passing from the back to give some great chances to Toney and co, but we've paid off with a goal from a setpiece. As long as we keep their corners count low, we should be fine. Two more goals, Jota and Hendo, and I'm very happy!

Meanwhile, Leeds, damn Harrison!

@tokes I'm always laying into Fred but he seems to be a tick or two better under Rangnick? My imagination?

There was a match he looked good but all in all it’s Manchester United.  With their financial muscle and the prestige I think they could easily acquire better players for the club.  City has way less prestige but they were able to do it.  United should hire a guy who’s good to handle the transfer market just like what City has in Txiki.  If they keep leaving that job to Ed Woodward, they won’t go anywhere.  But I guess that’s why they brought Rangnick in for an advisory role after the season.

It appears the arrogant Giga has been humbled. This is a fighter who is very conceited to name a kick after himself. Also, in much of his interviews before this fight, he always told everyone that his next fight will be for the championship. He was not talking about his next fight and the next opponent in front of him. However, Calvin Kattar will be Giga’s most unforgettable opponent because he was an opponent who made a son out of Giga hehehe.

Father and son picture

Yeah...  I guess you could say that.  He was obv looking past Kattar and he was thinking he had 145 in the bag.  Entering the top 10 is one thing but being matched up vs somebody in the top 5 is another thing.  We just saw it with Chris Daukas who I’m a big fan of.  And we could see it next with another fighter I like, Rafael Fiziev.  He’ll get tested vs Dos Anjos next month.

https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/83406-ufc-fight-night

Only now managed to watch Kattar vs Chikadze fight. And here is what I have noticed. Giga has huge problems on mid distance. He ate almost every jab, not to mention that also every Kattar elbow hit the target (as a proof - look at Gigas face). He was good on long distance, ground is also good (he wasnt submitted), clinch was moderate, but mid range was a disaster. He has to do something about it. He was on a 7 win streak and was too confident before fight. But now he is even two steps behind title fight due that loss.

Chikadze couldn’t handle the forward pressure for 5 rounds and he was getting tired as his movement seemed a little bit labored starting at the second round.  Looking at the rankings, his next match up might bode too well for him either unless it’s a guy totally outside the top 15.
3166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2021/2022 on: January 16, 2022, 02:46:08 PM
I expected a draw with goals at the end of the Aston Villa vs Manchester United game and it happened. But to be honest, it was really surprising at the same time. Because Manchester United were playing comfortably and they got a 2-0 score advantage too. But in a very short time period, Aston Villa scored two consecutive goals and the game ended up with a 2-2 draw. Manchester United are still lacking in defense.
Maguire and Lendelof are not good enough for Manchester United, they are not a top four club kind of defenders, they might be okay for clubs like west ham and Leicester city not Manchester United. United did everything well in attack but their defence did not maintain high concentration that's why it ended a draw.

The main problem in Manchester United since the beginning of the season is in their defense, they did buy Varane but I think he is not enough to cover the weakness. There is also a missing position in the squad, it is defensive midfielder who are connecting the defense with the attacking side. Most of the midfielders in the United's squad is typical of offensive midfielder who can help while they are attacking their opponent but they cant help in defending from attack.

It’s not that Varane is not enough to cover Man United at the back.  It’s just showing how washed Varane is and they shouldn’t have acquired him for whatever kind of money they got him for.  And I’m pretty sure they paid a lot.

And yeah Matic and McTominay are just whatever.. They’re not players thats should playing for Man United at this point.  Fred too, sadly.  I thought he was goingto do well in the EPL.  Pep was supposed to get him but United acted first in the transfer market.  Pep dodged a bullet there.  Lol.

I would be strongly in favor of such happening.Of course it would be catastrophic to have a Monaco F1 race with the same cars for some but for me would be really beautiful seeing all the drivers with an equal car during this really slow track. The best of where this can happen is in SPA in Belgium,I would love that really fast race with the same car for the drivers.I think it would add to the beauty of a F1 calendar if we held a couple of such events and also the driver will get better recognition and in the top cars any driver would have a chance to go if they show good skills during such events.

It may look impossible for this to happen but it would be very beautiful for us F1 fans.

^ You are right. Having a new mode in F1 will also be a big refreshment for fans, organizations, and also the drivers in my opinion. Yes, there will be haters for a new mode but I think that it's worth a try. As we are not replacing the current mode, if things go south, the new mode could be shut down. But I really want that the better drivers to get rewarded for their driving skills rather than relying on their organization to make a better car.

What mode?  Lol.  It’s actually going to be dumb imho.  Imagine having no competition in car development and with only one car company monopolizing the construction of the cars every year.  In that world, Verstappen, Hamilton, Alonso, Sainz, Norris and the rest of the field would all be driving a Ferrari.  Cheesy

Anyway...  Sainz looks ready to take seat no. 1 at Ferrari.  Bad news for Leclerc.

^  Wasn’t Zabit removed from the rankings due to inactivity then eventually released from his contract?  I think I’ve read a tweet or an article somewhere.  But yeah..  The event wasn’t as good as I thought it would be barring the main event which didn’t disappoint.  Well I was disappointed with the result.  Lol.   I really thought Chikadze was on his way up.

Time to move on.  Next event looks parlayable but the dogs are barking at the main and the co main.  Ngannou now at 2.20 and Fig at 2.48.

Maybe we should be asking the maxis ‘how is BTC?’.  Bitcoin maxis love to mock people who like trading altcoins but I think they haven’t been really paying attention for the last couple of years.  I haven’t really been into the new stuff going on with alts as of late but I’ve been slowly been getting back into it.  I gotta say, there’s a huge possibilty that ETH will flippen BTC one day.  All eyes on June.  The hard for to proof of stake could happen then and If ETH doesn’t implode, I’d say that’s the start of ETH’s rise to no. 1.

Oh...  And how’s BTC?

And there’s going to be a race in Miami, Florida for the first time ever.  I’m not sure if it’s a street circuit or a real track.  Hopefully a street circuit.

Here are the games taking place today 15th January 2022

Aston Villa vs Manchester United
Burnley vs Leicester City (postponed)
Manchester City vs Chelsea
Newcastle United vs Watford
Norwich City vs Everton
Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Southampton

The pick of the games has to be Manchester City vs Chelsea which kicks-off at 12:30

The match between City and Chelsea done just now.  There only one goal but it was def a brilliant goal by KDB.  City are leading by 13 points while the next two clubs below it are somewhat struggling...  They’re running away with it.  But there’s nothing more satisfying for Pep than to win the UCL trophy.  It would be his only CL trophy outside of Barca.

As for bets, Norwich under .5 goals at 2.50.  That looks value imo.  Yeah sure it’s at home for Norwich and they’re due, but still...  Another interesting bet is double chance on Wolves or draw and BTTS no also at 2.50.

Edit:  Norwich...  Ugh nvm.

^  Lol.  Hilarious.  He better be sure not to trip on wires somewhere.  Cheesy

Anyway it’s down to 10 bouts.  Thank god everybody made weight and there were no more cancellations due to the rona.  Covid cases have been going up again in a lot of places which sucks.  I thought it would be all over by now.

I see Charles Rosa to win by submission is at 9.00 at Betnomi.  Grin  I mean Rosa isn’t really good but TJ Brown is a gasser, he could get his neck caught at the last round or something.

Here are the vids of thr weight and the face off.  I thought Kattar would be way taller than Chikadze.  Kattar could get finished for the first time here.  If not, later rounds could go his way.  Chikadze has a questionable gas tank.

^  It’s not exactly the best they can do but if you look at their current predicament, who would want to play at Newcastle with them being at risk of being relegated?  No decent prospect would want to play on the Championship next season.  Lol.  They’d rather go to a club where they could show their wares at Aston Villa, Leicester or with the Wolves and be noticed by the big clubs somehow.  So not exactly the best they can do but yeah...  it’s the best they can do.  Lololol.

Does anybody itt think Eddie Howe can motivate and get Newcastle to survive the relegation battle and stay up?

The sell down went a little too deep than I anticipated.  Lol.  But bids between 1.75 and 1.80 USD were hit.  There’s nothing to do now but let the chips fall where they may and hope the trading gods put this one in our favor.  Crossing my fingers.  Cheesy

What do you guys think?  Seems like a lot of the people don’t speak up like they used to in these parts anymore when I ask for advice.  Everybody used to be smart and had an opinion.  We need that 2013 - 2014 vibe back esp during the bear market.

After so much research and watching highlight videos here are my Picks for the Upcoming UFC Fight Night highlighted in green are my picks.

Calvin Kattar VS Giga Chikadze

Stake odds are 2.90 For Kattar and 1.40 for Chikadze, Well pretty much I let the analysis slip through me, but I surely can not help it, and upon further reviewing Calvin Kattar, because I am really digging Giga Chikadze in winning this, I have search a better way for Kattar winning over Chikadze and I think that is his counter striking, he can sure give Chikadze a counter-attack but his strike rate isn't that much favorable and for Giga Chikadze can definitely check with a kick and could deliver his signature move the "Giga Kick" his been good on his technical striking and could also control the fight with his faints, and Calvin Kattar is not active for 1 year now, I don't know if he's in for this fight, but I sure like how Chikadze can set up this fight so well.

Katlyn Chookagian VS Jennifer Maia

Stake odds for these two fighters 1.54 for Chookagian and 2.44 for Maia, Being Maia the underdog, I think this is because Chookagian have win against Maia on November 2, 2019, well in my opinion Chookagian can throw so much volume on Maia, and this could be a repeat on history, but yeah that fight with Jennifer Maia VS Jessica Eye, but it is not that powerful and not a great volume with her striking, well I think this could be another win for Chookagian.

There should be a Muslim Salikhov VS Michel Pereira fight but it was scrapped after Muslim Salikhov's team reported for undisclosed reasons the fight was Canceled, and right now Michel Pereira has shifted his fight to UFC 270 and his opponent will be Andre Fialho.

Guys, I see many of you here haven't made their predictions in the UFC Vegas 46 Multi Master Challenge thread. It's free, guys, so, why not? Wink They are giving away nice prizes in the form of free bets.

Most of the people there bet on Giga Chikadze and Katlyn Chookagian, and it's understandable looking at the odds, but I decided to try my luck with betting on the underdogs. Not in my every pick exactly, but in most of them. I know my chances are slim, but we'll see how it turns out. Anyways, don't forget to make your picks, guys. There's not much time left.

I keep on forgetting jeremypwr’s Multi Master!  Anybody who remembers, please post it in the thread.  I’ll give merits if I have them.  Thanks.  Smiley

From a betting perspective I can’t blame you if you go for the underdog in the Chook vs Maia match.  Chook isn’t really that good but gets away with winning close fights via decision.  Judges seem to like her.  Lol.  But yeah, the value is with Maia.  She throws leather harder and has decent wrestling.  And she already has fought Chook before too.  So she prolly has an idea what to do this time around.

As for Chikadze, dunno...  After seeing how he beat Barboza, it’s hard to fade him.  Lol.
3177  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ English Premier League Season: 2021/2022 on: January 13, 2022, 02:10:51 PM
I understand the point you are making but if it helps them avoiding a relegation battle then they will have to consider spending some of their funds. They could simply allow Howe a chance to stamp his style of play on to the team and hope it will be enough to avoid relegation. Imagine how they would feel if they paid millions to buy players then got relegated... it is not a good position to be in for the new owners.

Newcastle have funds to spend but they are taking things slowly, allowing manager Howe time to settle in and to allow the players a chance to prove themselves.

As for the game this evening, you went for a draw and I went for an away win... let us see what the score will be when the full time whistle is heard  Grin

Everton vs Leicester City has been postponed therefore the only game Premier League taking place this evening is Southampton vs Brentford

Southampton may have been purchased by a new owner but the funds will take time to get through to the manager to start spending on new players. I will go for the following scoreline: Southampton 1-2 Brentford  Grin

Change of ownership of course will not immediately provide a complete change to their performance, of course it will take time for the manager to get the right players for their squad composition, just like what happened to newcastle today, even though they have a lot of money but they just got 1 or 2 players in the transfer market.
It's hard to guess who will win in that match, because the current conditions of the two teams are not much different, so I think maybe the two teams will draw 0-0 or 1-1 in the match later.

Should they tho?  Newcastle is the second favorite to be relegated with just 11 points after playing 19 fixtures...  Not good.  I think they should be acquiring at least 3 players, esp players for the midfield for some creativity and a couple of decent CB’s.  But no..  They acquired Chris Wood from Burnley.  Lol.  They already have Callum Wilson, Saint-Maximin and Joelinton who are decent forwards for what they need.

But they got Eddie Howe who is a decent hire as a manager.  If they go down, they have an experienced manager who could get them back up just like he did twice at Bournemouth.  And if they stay up somehow, Howe is capable of building the club from the bottom up to be a mid table club imo.

It’s not a good position for the new owners if Newcastle gets relegated either.  That’s gonna be some lost revenue for the club if they are out of the EPL.  And what’s worse, they have to play in the championship which isn’t an easy league.  Who knows if Howe could get them back up the very next season.  They could stay down there for a couple of years for all we know.  So I think it’s much more sensible to risk it and spend now than be sorry later.

Btw...  did I mention they acquired Chris Wood from Burnley for 25m GBP?  25m GBP!  Lmao..
3178  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 13, 2022, 01:57:04 PM
Trofo and the real guys who watch the Serie A more closely...  And coinlocket$ I guess..?  What do you guys think of Arsenal breaking the bank to splash the cash on Dusan Vlahovic for 70m GBP?  Is he worth it?
In my opinion yes. He is one of the more exciting options on the market at the moment. He is complete striker and could do well with all those fast players like Saka, Martinelli and ESR playing around him. Still very young as well so possibility of big transfer out down the road if everything goes as planned.

That being said 70M GBP is not a small amount and there is often a problem for players to get adjusted to Premier League so no guarantees as usual but I would like to see him at Arsenal.

Yup.  Jaden Sancho is the latest proof of it and to some extent even Lukaku’s second stint in the EPL.  It shows that not every highly rated player in Europe makes it in the EPL...  Another one I couldn’t forget is Timo Werner.  I was so excited reading about him being considered by Klopp but then Chelsea splashed the cash and got him.  A year later, nothing...  Such a disappointment.

Anyway I’m hopeful for Vlahovic’s success.  The Arsenal fans deserve it and I’d rather see a player do good and flourish.  I don’t get why some football supporters like to see a player fail just cos he’s playing for their rivals.  I mean there’s a difference between laughing at them when a player misses a goal or commits a stupid foul and flat out hating them.

Kinda looking like just more of the same...

I feel like we would either need extraordinary positive pressure specifically for Monero, or a bullish tailwind for the whole crypto sector.  And neither of those is here.  So back down to 4 we go?

Or am I just moaning?

Yeah, I think some entity was just trying to paint some false hope before doing a rug pull.

I think TPTB have decided to throw fiat away on the market side of their attacks.

Only the Diamond hands are going to survive this ride.

If you can't beat them then buy them.

I don’t think TPTB or whoever care that much about XMR anymore.  They’re prolly saying:  ‘Us again?  Don’t flatter yourselves kids.’.  Lol.  And they have a lot on their plate.  I’ve been reading up on DeFi and decentralized mixing and all that stuff.  It looks like a hacker or some guy could swap his loot from DeFi market to market then mix it in something like Tornado Cash then boom.  Done.

And here’s the thing, all the liquidity is shoveled in there.  It’s where the money is!  Oh how I wish I didn’t get so complacent and really went balls deep into new stuff like I used to.

This could be Arteta’s biggest blunder yet.  If this guy flops, he gets the sack imho.
