3161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2020 US Presidential Election | Trump vs Biden on: November 27, 2020, 10:24:21 AM
From what I read, many bettors believe that with +700 odds for Trump it's worth a shot.

Donald Trump has had his day, but his daughter might get the media's / voter's attention.  Here's the full list from that website you cite:

https://www.oddschecker.com/us/insight/specials/politics/20201125-2024-us-presidential-election-odds-bettors-backing-donald-trump-to-return-in-2024

No sign of Taylor Swift, or some of the more obvious GOP candidates.  Harris or Biden are definitely in with a chance.  I wonder how much a 0.001 bet costing <$20 now will be worth if the bet paid even in 2024 given BTC hit $19,250 two days ago??
3162  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LEGO Bitcoin Wallets on: November 27, 2020, 10:12:08 AM
You can buy exactly one Lego Brick from the Lego web site if you really, really need just one more brick, or a whole tonne of bricks if need be.

Follow the link https://www.lego.com/en-us/page/static/Pick-a-Brick?icmp=HP-SHQL-EG-NO-pick-a-120 (it's not a reference link, that's the page, go to Lego.com and click on "pick a brick" if you're worried about such things...)

It's been good reading some of these later posts from people I don't ordinarily see much of in the Forum.  I have to laugh now given I cautiously said bitcoin would be about <$14,000 and now people are forcasting it'll reach >$ 25,000 in just under five week's time.  (If that does happen I'll win a small bag over at a certain gambling site).   Grin

Thanks to the OP @zasad@ for keeping this popular thread going (and @SiNeReiNZzz , you;ll have to tell me how to do those coulourful signatures of yours)
3164  Economy / Reputation / [Question] Why was Retina u=2508950 auto-banned & who are they an alt of? on: November 27, 2020, 08:30:12 AM
mdayonliner starts a thread: Re-join and hello to all! - Archive [1a], [1b]

mdayonliner links to their alt ( mday_alt ) thread: In the process of willingly locking mdayonliner [locked: Password inside] - Archive [2a], [2b]

mday_alt posts a signed message ( Archive [3a], [3b] )via wallet address 1GyLCQSgcSMN3oCDP6qitZ8b3sABP6wjaF during ban evasion ( Yobit ) and also posts in Bangladeshi.

Partial conclusion:

mdayonliner and mday_alt are confirmed alts.

Yesterday, S_Therapist posted in Bangladeshi - (Archive [4a], [4b] ) and prior to their period of inactivity such as this post on the 2019-06-23, 16:33:41. - Archive [5a], [5b]

S_Therapist admits that utlptc is their alt which they used to purchase bitcointalk accounts:

Archive [6a], [6b]

I bought that account.
It's enough. I don't see any point of further discussion. Account buyer can't be trusted.
Come on, we are talking about whether alt of mdaypnliner or not.

I bought that account.
Buying hacked account and then gets hacked.

I suppose you need forum account to buy account which means that you have at least one more account somewhere.
Yes, it's - utlptc

Partial conclusion:

S_Therapist and utlptc are alts of each-other.

DT trust:

Week 10 mdayonliner removes their trust/distrust list:

(Interestingly, that same week: 2019-03-20, 17:47:58 Last post by    utlptc)

Week 39 S_Therapist likewise removes their trust/distrust list: (including S_Therapist's trust of mdayonliner) - this is just three weeks after Retina has been banned.

merit swapping:

mdayonliner gives both S_Therapist and Retina merits (and receives one merit from S_Therapist

mdayonliner and utlptc register just four days apart.  There are something like a dozen threads suspecting mdayonliner and S_Therapist are alts, - I haven't scoured over every line of those threads, but it's gotten me to wondering:

Questions:

  • Is it just coincidental that mdayonliner and utlptc registered within four days of each-other with utlptc being a self-admitted alt of S_Therapist who has long been suspected of being an alt of mdayonliner?

The same week utlptc last posts, mdayonliner removes their DT trust/distrust list - coincidental?
  • How is Retina u=2508950 connected as an alt of any of the four UID's mentioned so far?  I've seen the user name ( Retina ) mentioned by others as being an alt, yet I can't see the first mention linking one to the other.
  • If Retina was auto banned, does that mean there was yet another UID out there who's information (e.g. I.P. etc) caused a trigger that saw Retina auto-banned?  (what is that alt?)
  • If people can accept a connection between mdayonliner <-> utlptc <-> S_Therapist *just* on the registration dates being four days apart *AND* Retina is connected to one of the four, then does it not stand to reason that all four ( mdayonliner, mday_alt, S_Therapist and utlptc ) are guilty of ban-evasion?

mdayonliner also merits both of these two.

I forgot to ask earlier if you have a lightning network node that people can open a channel to?  It might make it just a little bit easier if we already have funds ready in outbound capacity ready to send over to your site.

Hi,

I was actually put onto this site a few weeks ago, but only played it for a few spins before my browser crashed via an unrelated issue concerning the Tor Browser.

Can you tell me when I send a payment request to withdraw via LN, do I make the amount how much I want to withdraw (e.g some of my amount on the page) or, if I want to withdraw the full amount, do I need to leave a few sats short to cover TX fees?

Also, is there a token, or some kind of link to resume a game if I have some sats left over and want to close my browser then go back to the site later (essentially leave funds on the site)??
3167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2020 US Presidential Election | Trump vs Biden on: November 26, 2020, 04:59:02 PM
It's my first time to see that the US election has this political mark of discrepancy with the election vote result. I'm not living in any part of America but i am a vivid watcher of US election result started when the time Barak Obam winned and became president and i am amazed how their election voting goes on and i believe that in this kind of country no discrepancies can arise. But what happened this past election was over and i guess Biden was truly winned via votes of people who believes in him. However it is threatening to know what Trump were capable of, hopefully he can accept what has been done and resulted.

The reason the US President isn't sworn in for two months after the election is to enable any challenges to take their course and then the results are declared, then the Oath of Office takes place.

the 2000 election had one of the most contentious challenges with Former Vice President Al Gore challenging the results in Florida which swung to Presidential Hopeful George Walker Bush (son of former President George Herbert Walker Bush) which gave the Presidency to GW Bush.

Had Al Gore challenged all fifty States' election results, then Al Gore would have won the Presidency.

Check out other challenges that have occurred.

I'm curious how much I will win with my presidential election bet. Can someone help me figure out the estimated winnings?

When I placed my bet it showed the following:

TIME WEIGHT MULTIPLIER 30.0x
Outcome odds 4.5
Betting amount 0.01

Thank you!

The time weight multiplier is a little bit misleading your 30.0 X means that you will receive 1.3 times what you wagered (BTC 0.01 X 1.3 = BTC 0.013) with the outcome of 4.5 giving an end result of BTC 0.0585.

Having said that however, the outcome odds will fluctuate until betting is closed - if you're quoting the after closing odds (and you bet on Joe Biden) then you should pick up BTC 0.0585 in the near future.

Congratulations.
3169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2020 US Presidential Election | Trump vs Biden on: November 25, 2020, 06:02:32 AM
Maybe some big bettors are threatening to sue bookies if they call it for Biden already ? Could happen, when you see the level of delusion among Trump's supporters.

I somehow doubt any bookies paying out for Biden will be threatened with anything given Trump has started the process of the transfer of power as indicated in this article - see also the video at the bottom of the post.

Trump = Chump

Whether Trump concedes or not (he won't) doesn't matter. He has no path to victory. He lost the election.

Trump spoke on Monday about the transition of power to Biden, so if that isn't a concession of defeat, then what is?  See also this link and the video at bottom of article for further information.

OK, am back in business - https://live.blockcypher.com/btc/tx/7da3515aa3a7492b9e99ef95b7a3e7bbaf500c474de68b3dc4c756d18729abdd/ (every time I've re-broadcast it, the "confidence" has always been at or above 47-51%) - it looks like the error was only a temporary thing.

Fees are much lower now as evidenced by this guide: https://bitcoinfees.earn.com/ (it's a guide people)

Besides, it will mean trying to double spend on top of the current problem.

The OP's already "double spent" these funds as there's a "fee too high" version and the current one I've been bumping without success.  Have a look at the unedited version of the OP, the  rawtransaction look very similar to each-other.
3173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2020 US Presidential Election | Trump vs Biden on: November 24, 2020, 03:24:09 AM
...

What's even more amazing is Trump is either spending his own money (or more likely his die-hard supporters) to fund legal challenges that have ended up proving Trump didn't win.

More and more Trump's time in the White Hose will be defined by his refusal to accept he was beaten fair and square in a two horse (or rather donkey) race.  It'll be a mere formality when the betting agencies payout on the Biden win.
3174  Other / Meta / Re: Timeouts and other errors with Tor Browser, Cloudflare, Bitcointalk, and Alt-Svc on: November 23, 2020, 11:09:54 PM
I had to reinstall Tor for unrelated reasons and a fresh install went into the this irritating connection-error-every-10-minutes mode. Disabled Alt-Svc and it's been fine since. So maybe this thread can help someone.

Version 10.0.0.2 is stable on my PC - I *was* using version 10.0.0.4 but it kept crashing so have rolled Tor back.

(And like Firefox both have updated BPIP without incident)
3175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin betting on the 2020 US Presidential Election | Trump vs Biden on: November 21, 2020, 10:13:59 PM
However when people do try to say these things, they are not only hoping Trump might win, but they are also hurting Biden's presidency as well, and if you are a Trump fan you should know how bad it was for people to attack a president, trump fans should know that better than anyone. Hence why I think we should just let this go.

One by one the Republican delegates are certifying wins for Joe Biden, so the era of Trump is now over.  Anyone taking bets at this point for an election that is over are scamming people.  Anyone placing bets is being scammed.

What I don't get is why is there, say, "$50,000" instead of "$37,501 - $75,000" range? If it is the same, why don't we use the scheme for monthly betting we've been accustomed to?

It may be that someone requested that specific amount quite a while ago.  For the end of November the spreads go up to "more than $25,000" which is very self explanatory (and paying out 48:1) - the $25,000 is most likely to be the payout amount.

In any event $25k-$50k spread for the end of 2020 means the price would have to go above $ 37,500.01 (not one dollar) for it to be closer to $50,000 than be closer to $25,000.  It'd then have to leap above $75,000.01 for it to be closer to $100,000 than $50,000.  So again, $25,000 is looking likely to be the payout figure for both "end of November" and "end of 2020"

I have tried to broadcast my sample transaction few minutes ago and it's working for that transaction.

I clicked on your link and this is what I saw:

But I'm getting the same error when I tried with leventturksoy's 'normal fee raw transaction'.

Thanks for trying.
