3161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Africa Cup of Nation Discussion Thread || Current discussion: Group Stage. on: January 09, 2022, 02:04:27 PM
You said it all. Africa leaders are the problem  of soccer  In Africa, they never put interest in soccer , no investment  I'm soccer in the past and today it is affecting Africans and becoming a problem to Africans.
I don't think the leaders are to blame alone, there is massive and widespread corruption in almost all sectors of the government and also in governing bodies bodies for African football. There is indication of corruption from election of the president, to appointment of coaches, there is corruption from the approval of Stadiums and facilities for games to the procurement of good quality equipment to ensure quality coverage. There is corruption in the selection of game officials and featuring players. The cost of game tickets at times is not even made affordable for the average individual to encourage more live spectators for games. I believe these are all contributing factors as well, reducing the quality of African football, because Africa is not short of talents.
3162  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: [NEWBIE] What To Do To Avoid Red-Trust. on: January 09, 2022, 01:46:02 PM
I don't think you can get a negative trust for buying an account. It rules says buying Bitcointalk account is "discouraged".

The idea of buying an account defeats the original motive of this forum, which is to learn, it sends the message of greed, impatience and a signal that money may just be the reason and your motivation for you being here. It is better to start small, rather than at a stage where it may be difficult to understand how the forum operates especially if you have never been here, that is another reason IMO why it is discouraged. You can get a negative trust because unlike the previous owner, your reputation is not known and it is also in question.
3163  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: CAN YOUR BITCOIN BE STOLEN ? on: January 09, 2022, 10:13:14 AM
Protect your wallet device.
This is particularly very important as well, imagine that your device with your crypto wallet gets to the wrong hands and the person has a good knowledge of how to move crypto from one wallet to another. Getting the OTP from your mail or sim card to confirm the transaction will not be a problem as they are both open on the stolen phone. As there are no names attached to wallet addresses, trying to investigate afterwards may be tiresome and impossible. Try to secure yourself offline as well as online.
3164  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 09, 2022, 09:07:12 AM
If I'm not wrong now, Manchester United have already offered a contract extension to Paul Pogba. But I'm having my doubts about if he will be accepting the deal or not. Because if Paul Pogba really wanted to play for Manchester United for more years, I assume that he would already have wanted an extension by himself.

If you are Paul Pogba say for instance, will you still want to play for MUFC that is very unpredictable right now in performance, or will you want to secure your career and find opportunities else where?
I sincerely hope Arsenal can secure signature of Serbia's Dusan Vlahovic who has been clinical in front of goal lately for his Italian Serie A club Fiorentina. He will be such a great addition to the team, we also need a midfielder as well.
3165  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advice on what to consider when making an investment ? on: January 09, 2022, 08:44:07 AM
Usually check each of their social media platforms if they've got a lot of users, the real users with interaction. Like in their telegram channel or discord server.
Telegram interactions can be engineered these days, you must be cautious too. Dubious projects can recruit multiple users to push conversation on their channels, Interactions on telegram and discord channels are indications of good projects but not full assurance. If you feel that you may be biased in your research and decision, that is unsure of your judgement after researching, employ the help of a third party professional whose judgement is sound to help in your decision making process.
3166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do you use stable coins? on: January 09, 2022, 03:30:25 AM
I use them to get in and out from some trades!
Similar use to me, stable coins offer some sort of assurance against the market. When the market starts to dip, USDT's and BUSD's can help secure your investment until the market gets good for you to join back in. Also If you have no intention of trading, but Just want to avoid the over use of the centralised government financial system, Stable coins are a good switch as since their values are hinged to the dollar, they can be considered as a sort of "decentralised digital dollar".
3167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: January 09, 2022, 02:53:47 AM
Barcelona playing draw 1-1 with Granada is not surprise result because like what have my prediction before, I think Barcelona still face problem with not consistent performance
This season for Barcelona and it's supporters definitely is one where their very poor performance will be talked about even after, if they improve. It is very awkward to me, seeing Barcelona in 6th place on the La Liga table, so far away from their rivals Real Madrid. Another bad thing for Barcelona is that the club is in so much debt at the moment (over a billion in debt) that securing the signature of another top player that can help the team is in question.
3168  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What type of skills need for become a bounty Manager? on: January 08, 2022, 02:15:17 PM
It is nice to discover what you want at the early stage of your stay in the forum. This will enable you shape your activities in the forum to conform with your proposed desire to be a bounty manager.
True, knowing exactly what you want is the first step in achieving it.

OP, another very important skill that you will need to develop as well is "Diligence & Discipline". Deligence knowing that during bounties, you will have to be able to keep up, i mean with time. You should be able to devote and sacrifice enough time to ensure that your bounty goes smoothly even it is means quiting some of your regular activities for the time being, and also diligence in quickly distributing payment to bounty participants. Discipline also not to be too enticed by the money for bounty participants that you fault them unnecessarily just to cut their pay. If this is noticed, it is damaging to reputation.
3169  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My new year advice to crypto newbies on: January 08, 2022, 01:59:10 PM
Because actually you are a newbie as well,
He may be a newbie to the forum, maybe not a newbie to crypto.

OP, another thing you neglected to consider in your post is "security". As a newbie to the crypto space, it is your personal responsibility to secure your investment. You should be able to exercise more caution, not just from online thieves, but offline ones as well. Be more careful who you give you cellphone or personal computer that has your wallet or private crypto information to, be careful who you let know that you are now into crypto currency, so you don't become a victim of crypto theft.

This can be a big challenge to nigeria not having top players for tournament.
I don't think it will affect the outcome of the competition so much, If you are Nigerian, you should know that the country is very blessed with super talented home based players that are hungry to perform. Get those home based players and put them out on the pitch, with good tactics, they will perform. Top players can inspire other players in a team, but it is not an assurance of victory. A better assurance of victory is when the entire players in a team are playing well.

First games of the Tournament are Cameroon v Burkina Faso and Ethiopia v Cape Verde Starting on Sunday (Jan 9th 2022) - Drop your predictions.
3171  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lies in the world on: January 08, 2022, 01:14:22 AM
Even if you want to trade, better try spot and use the amount of money you can afford to lose, most traders are losing.
Newbies in trading should not take this advice lightly, because the emotion behind OP's write-up is that of one who has experienced real losses from trading.

The thought of the massive profit from margin trading is enticing, but the thought of losses should also scare you into not diving in heads deep but at the same time not a call to never try it if you can. You can win there, and you can be in big sh*t too! Margin trading is not a place to play around, you must know your onions in trading if you want to give marginal trading a try. Newbies take heed.
3172  Other / Meta / Re: BitcoinTalk Newbie of the Year 2021[Voting] on: January 07, 2022, 02:48:17 PM
I did not enter this space as a pro, I joined as a learner. I am still learning till now and I believe there are lots of things to learn.
Same here, Joining this forum stimulated my interest in bitcoin and cryptocurrency, can't say i know it all, but i know better than yesterday about cryptocurrency, and have also put myself in a position to guide another to knowledge.

Also, n0nce is a wonderful user of this forum.
Good Stats indeed, but my vote goes to - SatoPrincess. She deserves recognition for her effectiveness on this forum in such a short time, she may not be as knowledgeable as user "n0nce" but her vibrations as an effective member of this forum has definitely been felt.
3173  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Teachers deserve more on: January 07, 2022, 02:37:33 PM

kindergarten/playschool:
teachers usually are just there as babysitters. giving kids a paintbrush or a ball to play with while parents work.
some do however go the extra mile to inspire and teach. but broadly its a babysitting gig.
its a little hard to gauge which Kindergarten teacher has gone the extra mile. unless their was a 'parent survey' teacher review system to rate teachers based on toddlers behaviour.

The job description of Kindergarten teachers should not be overlooked, they are first set of teachers that your young and learning kids will meet and they will be spending a lot of time with your kids, paying close attention to them, and your kids may learn a thing or two from them as kids learn easily when little. for me these set of teachers need to be properly screened and the properly rewarded, because care has to be taken and it is not easy handling kids.

highschool/secondary school:
teach kids many things. but sometimes useless things that are never used in the real life, taking time away from things that might be used in the real world.. like wasting weeks on trigonometry, but not taking a day to learn about how banks 'print money' using the scam deception of credit cards and mortgages. i think keeps should learn about responsible 'lending'/using credit. more so than trigonometry.

teacher should be more rewarded for teaching life skills and things that are needed. not rewarded for following a national curriculum plan.

Formerly subject topics like trigonometry where ideal for education as a way of promoting reasoning, but these sort are now outdated and the educational curriculum plan  has to be updated to feature more present day topics. School teachers can do little about the curriculum because it is what is before them set by the government. I think some governments are well aware the need to update teaching curriculum, but reluctant to do so in a bid to control knowledge and keep people at a certain level.
3174  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Can Man Lives without Sex? on: January 07, 2022, 01:37:44 PM
however its WORDS of religious priests that are telling people that sex is bad
Sex becomes bad when you are not matured enough to handle what comes with it, it can ruin ones life and change the order of one's destiny if you don't exercise caution. It could lead to unwanted pregnancy, and other life changing infections or diseases, and this is not for Kids. I think this is why some religious leaders preach it bad because under the context of Christianity, sex is right only during marriage with a right partner, not only for pleasure but for procreation as well.

Sex is like the forbidden fruit, the day you taste of it, you will need more, that is why some Men are advised not to even start it at all, so they don't loose their way, life & dreams in the pursuit of sexual pleasure.
3175  Other / Off-topic / Re: Novak Djokovic's VISA got cancelled [Australian Open 2022] on: January 06, 2022, 04:20:44 AM
What do you guys think about this?

COVID-19 really caused some damage to many countries, and with the new variants, most countries are already taking measures, some have closed their borders and other countries like Australia have set new rules and regulation for visitors and even citizens to help curtail the further spread of covid-19 and its variants. For the case of vaccination, we knew for sure that it will get to this, and it's good to see that in Australia as regards this, no one is above the law, no matter your status. A tough decision it  is going to be for Djokovic, to just abandon the tournament, or subscribe to the terms and conditions of visiting the country.

However, i feel something can be done. There's still some time to the tournament, so the Australian government can isolate and carry out their out series of test on him before he be allowed to stay in the country for the duration of the tournament which is from 17th Jan 2022 – Sun, 30th Jan 2022.

But if the government does this for him, Other foreign international tennis players who have not gotten a jab may want to seek same preferencial treatment from the government, something i think they are trying to avoid.
3176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If you have a chance to become a VIP what casinos will those be on: January 05, 2022, 08:30:54 PM
Honestly, I'm not a VIP of any gambling sites I'm playing but every casino has perks and premium giveaways for their VIP, if I'm going to target one or two casinos for me to become a VIP what casinos will they be, named at least two casinos and your reasons.
Would have loved to name at least two Casino's, but offline casinos are not really a big thing in my locale and there are very few of them. However if i have the chance to become a VIP member in a casino, I have some personal criteria for any casino of my choice to be my choice.
- Must first be reputable and have an operational license that is legal permission. (wouldn't want to ruin my reputation being a VIP member of a unlicensed casino.
- Have good customer care and a spacious/comfortable environment.
- Should offer standard games.
3177  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What stopped you from starting crypto earlier??? on: January 05, 2022, 04:01:10 AM
WHAT STOPPED YOU FROM STARTING CRYPTO EARLIER???

At about the time i first heard about crypto, it was during a season when there were a lot of ponzi schemes ongoing in my locale. There was "MMM", "Crowd rising" and "Zarfund", all names of leading ponzi schemes that many including myself were victims of. "Zarfund" particularly was crypto based (bitcoin), where a certain amount could get us some little bitcoins, then via crowd funding accumulate this bitcoins.
After they all went offline with out bitcoins and fiat, I wallowed deep in Skepticism about anything crypto or making money online. It took a while, a miracle and some testimony of some friends who were early birds for me bounce back and push skepticism away. So skepticism was my reason.
3178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin celebrate 13th year birthday with new all time high harsh rate on: January 04, 2022, 07:47:25 PM
Bitcoin celebrated its 13th birthday which is the 3rd of January with this exciting new all-time hash rate.
HAPPY 13TH YEAR BIRTHDAY BITCOIN

Regardless of the price at the moment, the good thing is that there is something to celebrate, first of them is the fact that it has survived this long is something worth celebrating. I don't need to tell you, a lot of projects do not get close to even 10years, talk less of surviving it.
secondly we are celebrating for the things to come, that is the future of btc. forget the harsh rate at the moment, raise your wine glasses up for a toast to btc, "Hip hip hip" "Hurray!!! Cheesy
3179  Economy / Economics / Re: The link between Bitcoin and the economy on: January 04, 2022, 07:37:26 PM
Bitcoin is a digital currency that is not controlled by any one individual or government that is why it is referred to as decentralized currency,
Yes this was the original idea behind bitcoin creation, to eliminate government control and grant users a certain level of Flexibility and freedom.

secondly, Bitcoin is an asset just like gold that the reason most people adopt it for its economic benefits.
Bitcoin only became an asset because people have and are taking advantage and making profit of it's high volatility, maybe in the future when it is now more stable, the original idea of it as a digital currency will now be dominant.

However in line with the topic -"The link between bitcoin and the economy", I'd say the fact people are taking advantage of the volatility at the moment and making profit for themselves, it is a booster to the economy, because people have more money to spend, criminal activities will experience a drastic reduction as there will be more opportunities for many.
3180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy 13th Birthday, Bitcoin. You are a teenager now! on: January 04, 2022, 07:25:30 PM
I totally love the way OP has personified bitcoin  Cheesy

You have more than 100 million owners.
Seems you are loved by all.

You are a legal tender of a country (El Salvador).
You are a big shot in El Salvador.

90% of Americans have heard about you.
There's room for improvement, like the gospel, everyone has to hear about you.

Your market cap is around one trillion USD (it is close to the biggest companies and only 10 times less than the market cap of gold).
Are you (btc) going to let Old Gold intimidate you into doing less?

Your price has increased about 50 million times (from 0.001 USD to 50 000 USD).
We know teenage age is difficult to make steady decisions, but come on (btc) you gotta set your target up and keep going up, and stop dancing around, you are getting too old for that sh*t.

Not bad for this short time period (3 January 2009 - 3 January 2022).
Yh yh, not bad but you can do better, we are counting on you.

Happy birthday BTC.
from your loving Old Uncle Rruchi man.
