3161  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: November 12, 2022, 04:50:40 PM
Thurman has some experience fighting against the best (Pacman), and even if he lost against one of the greats, it's still a split decision which means he can compete among the best of them. Errol Spence is currently the favorite to win this matchup should this happen, as Thurman has been idle for quite a long time before coming back to fight against Barrios which he easily won, and Spence Jr. is just bashing heads back and forth and being undefeated. Hopefully we see this come to fruition as the boxing scene has been quite stale as of late.
3162  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cash out or wait till the end on: November 11, 2022, 11:58:30 PM
Well if you are feeling good about your bet, I don't see any reason to withdraw at all. Personally I would still chase for the win and not regret it even if it ends up as a losing bet. But of course, if it's in the thousands already I would just use my common sense in decision making. You have to be smart on that one rather than try to chase even more wins than you can possibly have at the moment. But if it's in those levels (hundreds), I'd just play to win and chase the complete parlay.
3163  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can roullete be rigged? on: November 11, 2022, 11:28:45 PM
I've watched too much Hollywood movies to know that it is somewhat possible, although of course people would probably notice before the casino can make a lot money. Some tricks include magnets, table level, subtle sleight of hand tricks etc. Of course, only a casino daring enough can pull this off because just imagine the scandal it can cause. They can easily lose a lot of patrons just because they became too greedy rigging a game chance.
3164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Axie infinity price prediction: Future of AXS? on: November 11, 2022, 10:52:34 PM
This no longer has a future IMO. The devs took so long to address the issue of the lack of burning mechanism for SLP and people just lost interest in it. It's an extremely amazing endeavour, but if SkyMavis took action the first time, AXS, SLP, and everything Axie-related might still make it to the top and prove that P2E is possible. But nah, they just chose to give out grand promises and that's it.
3165  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The origins of Slot games on: November 11, 2022, 06:32:54 PM
It's amazing how a simple machine that is created to solve a simple problem became the mainstay of an industry that is worth billions and billions of dollars. Whenever I get the chance to get inside a casino and play, these are the ones that I only go to and they keep me in the place for quite some time. Lots of complex visuals, lots of lines and lots of jackpots but essentially the same.

Kinda want to see and play a mechanical one that is still in operation, and of course free from any mechanical interference that might affect my gameplay.
3166  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tom Brady and Giselle Bündchen loses a combine $650 Million from FTX on: November 10, 2022, 11:48:31 PM
They are still rich as hell. They can easily make that money in no time. They already have the connections, the fame, the capital. All they have to put in are ideas and some work and they're golden. Also, they're not the ones who lost a lot on that FTX deal turned sour. I'm sure they can take a beating for what its worth.
3167  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Copying Bet From Other Unknown Bettors, Is This a Good Practice? on: November 10, 2022, 11:28:56 PM
Not a good practice if you're completely blank on the game that you're betting on. At least have some knowledge on the game before betting on it. Even if the one you shadow is a successful bettor, it's better that you know why they came up with that decision, and maybe you might not even need their bets to use as a reference in the future. At least, even if they stopped betting you already know how to make decisions alone.
3168  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who are those people that you don't want them to know you are a gambler on: November 10, 2022, 10:19:27 PM
The only person that I don't want to know my gambling history/activities is perhaps the young ones in the family. I just don't want them to think that it's cool to gamble and set a bad example that they might replicate in the future. Usually, young kids will always see adults as their role model no matter what the adults are doing, and IMO that's something that will always be a double-edged sword that needs to be checked always. Apart from them, I don't care whoever knows about  my gambling habits. I have the money to fund whatever I'm doing, and I'm not using money  that's not mine in order to get my gambling fill.
3169  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I won $128,000 and it's been a week waiting for game provider verification on: November 07, 2022, 11:57:38 PM
They did you right when you won lower amounts, but this one is too big and IMO they might delay this even further for a few weeks before they give you their decision. Just be prepared for whatever reasons they might give you, and insist that all you need is your winnings and nothing else.  Been to a similar situation with you, but found out that the casino I'm playing with is a scam, but it's already too late. However in my case, they managed to pay me albeit waiting for two weeks of gruelling discomfort and anxiety.
3170  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Losing $350,000 because of a friend, what would you do? on: November 07, 2022, 11:21:13 PM
I'd probably kick myself for being persuaded by other people on my betting decision. It should have been clear to me that it's my money and it's whatever I want to do with it, be it on a losing or a winning position. Of course some blames will be directed to this friend but I don't think it will natter now that the potential win is lost. I'd rather just keep to myself that my bets should not be affected or influenced by anyone no matter how close we are.

Besides, it's still a win anyway
3171  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Mattress Mack wins $75 million as Houston Astros claim World Series title on: November 07, 2022, 10:43:03 PM
The man deserves it. He's been a constant supporter of the Astros for years and has done a lot of charitable works to his people by way of his furniture shop. Also, that's a huge gamble: not everyone will ever have the chance to bet millions for their favorite team, and win that bet as well. Afterwards, the proceeds that he had for the win will go straight back to his business. Man's doing God's work, and should be commended for everything he does IMO.
3172  Economy / Economics / Re: Always ask bargain for prices never pay full specially now on: November 07, 2022, 10:27:36 PM
I don't see the logic in this one.

If everyone is already having a hard time financially, why would the merchants even accept your plea of bargaining anyway? This might even put their business in peril and may even affect their funds for their business. It just isn't making any logic at all to bargain when everything is turning to shit. You can always try, but do not expect that people will be so welcoming of how you try to bargain when they themselves aren't doing well enough even if they are supplying the goods.
3173  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Does Gambling/Casino Ads Help An Addicted Gambler Who Wants To Stop Gambling on: November 07, 2022, 09:30:21 PM
What it mainly does IMO is that it sparks the urge of the gambler by triggering his memory of what can be experienced in the gambling platform. Ads are effective in stimulating the minds of people if done well enough, and it could, too, affect the minds of gamblers who are trying so hard to avoid visiting the gambling platform. This is why even in the self-exclusion program, those who opted to be placed on that list are angry whenever they receive promotions and regular updates about the casino. It can easily break their concentration and they'll easily find themselves stumbling to play on the gambling platform that sent them the invite/updates/promotions.
3174  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin payment implementing at the Bitcoin Island(BORACAY) on: November 06, 2022, 10:41:52 PM
Interestingly enough, the company/app (Pouch.ph) that sort of like sponsored this implementation is pretty unknown probably outside that island. Great move by them though, I don't know why the biggest Philippine exchange (Coins.ph) hasn't made such a move.

Coins.ph kinda did some of the things that this new company is doing, except that it focused mostly on bars and other such establishments in the Metros. Would be nice if coins.ph did one again however this time focusing more on scenic tourist spots just like what pouch.ph did. It promotes tourism, promotes bitcoin, and it's a win-win for everyone.
3175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Faucet and Bonus Farming on: November 06, 2022, 09:51:34 PM
So, what do you think about this?
As i just talked with one of these cases who got their account frozen, i actually just went and read terms and faqs from few casinos about this and couldn't find anything on how they deal with people who don't deposit anything but use just try to get free money via faucets.

At the moment they don't really need to care, as frozing those accounts doesn't even raise any red flags with actual paying customers. It's not like they stole from people who deposited, that indeed would raise concerns, not this.

Personally i see this as non-issue, because i see no real victims here, more like annoyance of spending their time doing something bots would do.

Well at least they should be upfront and clear about this and update their terms and conditions to to state their policy on these kind of users.

Casinos will only use the banhammer on those who do this AND actually gets something from it. Considering how little the amount is that they're giving out anyways, they wouldn't make their platform look so bad by placing things against these people on their ToS. It would have been rather annoying at first but most of the people who does this don't even get anything from the casino anyway, plus the wagering requirements before one can withdraw those amount will be hard to reach.
3176  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: November 06, 2022, 09:10:36 PM
Things are really worrying for the Vitality - NaVi duo right now. Because they both got only one win after playing three matches.

Vitality's loss against NaVi wasn't surprising maybe but the MOUZ loss was unexpected. Mirage is just like a nightmare for Vitality now. After losing to NaVi there they got another loss this time against MOUZ. It happened after OT again also. NaVi's loss against Cloud9 and Liquid were also unexpected for me. Mirage and Ancient were the maps consecutively in these matches and the results were the same, 14-16. Ax1Le and EliGE were the stars of these matches by the way. When s1mple doesn't carry the team NaVi really have a bigger issue with winning these days.

Navi losing to Liquid is kinda okay. Ancient really is a CT-sided map. Lots of cheeky hiding spots and rotation + retakes are quite easier because you literally have lots of places to peek from and lots of angles to play with. Even with the errors made by oSee, Navi hasn't bounced back off it. They had an explosive CT side but once the switch happened it looks like they are struggling really hard to play as T.

Also, if Simple isn't carrying, you have Perfecto stepping up sometimes. This guy is also good in lots of things, it's just that the map is the problem IMO.
3177  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance CZ decided to dump all there FTT tokens on: November 06, 2022, 08:52:58 PM
It's better that CZ announced it, otherwise a lot of us would be clueless on the situation until it's over. Anyway, that's a lot for the market to absorb, and seeing that it's still not done and FTT already lost a considerable amount on its spot value, this might be another Luna situation, only we were told ahead of time of what's happening.

Hopefully FTX can turn this around, though for sure it will be hard since tjat's a lot to begin with. $2.1B is no joke.

3178  Economy / Economics / Re: TSMC says efforts to rebuild US semiconductor industry are doomed to fail on: November 06, 2022, 08:19:23 PM
If it's something for 'defense' then nothing is impossible for the US. They put a lot of effort when it comes to this aspect of their country more than anyone else in the world. They just have to get the right people to do the job for them and they're basically all set. It'll be a hard feat, yes, but if these guys are decades ahead of their competition when it comes to military technology, then it just means that they understand enough about electronics and the chips that they are using to be able to reverse-engineer it - and even manufacture it with the right tools.

For now TSMC can take the crown of being the major producer of lots of advanced chips in the world, but a country such as the US with a bigger economy, a lot of dependable engineers and technicians, and basically an infinite amount of resources to spend can catch up if it wanted to.
3179  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you consider appearance in business and employment? on: November 06, 2022, 08:06:21 PM
Yes, it matters A LOT, especially if you are in a client-facing role then the way you dress will also tell how the clients will address you. Also, it helps in establishing that you are someone they can trust because you care enough to dress well for your job. But if you are working a job that does not require you to talk to any clients at all, then it's okay if you just wear whatever feels comfortable for you so long as you do not disobey your office's dress code. Luckily, I'm employed in a place wherein people won't care about how you dress so long as you get the job done when they need it.
3180  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sports and entertainment industries could play a big role in Bitcoin adoption. on: November 06, 2022, 07:25:58 PM
A lot of crypto companies have been tapping huge sports event for a number of years now to promote their brand and spread bitcoin awareness everywhere but to no avail. There might have been some changes here and there but none of them were substantial enough to be noticed that there were really some changes. FTX, Crypto.com and a lot of other bitcoin/crypto-related names tried meddling with huge sports events and guess what, not much has changed since then.
