Can somebody point me to the list of all the other coins supported by Trezor, other than bitcoin. Does something like that even exists?

Thanks guys and keep up a good work.

Armory is not Trezor compatible yet. Is there a wallet Trezor works with now that does protect xpub information?

You would also need to setup an Electrum wallet configured with network settings that will access your personal Electrum server exclusively. You're responsible for all your own mistakes if you attempt to do all this.

Thanks for the quick reply! I was aware of the option to run my own Electrum server but was hoping to avoid that.

1) Use different password for all of your big bucks BTC and your spending money, try to minimize 3rd party exposure with big bucks BTC
2) For sign in use different password
3) Don't buy a house, previous owner knows exactly how much money you've atleast had to buy the house
4) Don't buy a car, dealer knows exactly how ....
5) When buying food, always try to pay the exact amount required, because otherwise the teller knows the amount of change you are carrying.

Luckily for human kind, most of them like to brag about how much they've got.  Cheesy

But an interesting question nonetheless, it should be fairly simple to sign a transaction offline using Trezor somehow...and broadcast it using your own full node. Sombody just has to write a couple of lines of code.

But now for the bigger problem, how are we going to protect our privacy at the bank, so that people that work at the bank don't stare all night at parties, because they know exactly how much money you've got too.

0) Broadcast Trezor transactions with a wallet that protects your xpub information
1) Forget steps 1-5

3165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which one is the best Bitcoin VISA debit card? on: July 19, 2015, 04:23:29 PM
Wouldn't like to use a bitcoin credit card. I couldn't imagine how much the fees would be for every use.
I'd prefer a debit card personally. So you know you can use it and not get high fees like the credit card companies, be it Visa or Mastercard, would charge you on interest charges.
Wagecan has a debit card but they have had probelms with it  for a while now, so they suspend it's use sometimes.
Coinbase and others like it are saying they are coming out with one. So I will wait for those until I decide which one to get, because they are larger companies and less likely to always have problems with their debit card system so often.

I think they're all technically pre paid debit cards, even though a few stick the word 'credit' on there. You can only spend what you load.

The fees for fiat only ones can be relatively hefty too depending on what you choose. There'll always be a fee involved with a BTC conversion, just a case of finding a card with a reasonable one.

I can see why people might go for them for the sake of convenience but you'd need to carefully weigh up the ongoing costs compared to just selling on an exchange.

I assume you also have to leave your BTC balance on the provider's website. That's a pretty unsexy concept.

Bit-x and Xapo bitcoin credit cards are linked to your wallet at the provider. You do not have to load those cards, you spend funds directly from your wallet balance.

You do not have to buy a bitcoin debit or credit card to spend your bitcoin, though they are convenient to have. Coinomat makes it possible to fund a card you already own using bitcoin or altcoins. All you have to do is open an account at Coinomat and fund your account with Bitcoin, Litecoin, BitcoinDark, Peercoin or NXT. You can then use any of those coins to send funds to a VISA or MasterCard you already own.

Staying away from Bitplastic is a good idea. Your bitcoin debit card options lists the following VISA options: SmartyCash, E-Coin, and Xapo.
3167  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S5, Spondoolies SP20 or 3 x Antminer S3? on: July 19, 2015, 02:38:47 PM
SFARDS SF100 is only 20% more power efficient than the S5 and twice the cost per GH/s. If trading is not your cup of tea I would look into replacing the fan on the S5 to cut noise. Some advice on upgrading the fan at https://www.reddit.com/r/BitcoinMining/comments/322z3a/fan_upgrade_for_antminer_s5/ and https://forum.bitmain.com/bbs/topics/1744
3168  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S5, Spondoolies SP20 or 3 x Antminer S3? on: July 18, 2015, 10:30:10 PM
With your power cost I think you would be better served by just buying hash on the Hashnest market. UMISOO has the highest yield at the moment, not S5. If you learn to trade you can also make money buying and selling hash with mining income as a bonus.
3169  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Cloudmining VS Investments(trading) on: July 18, 2015, 03:31:23 AM
The money is there to be made in trading GH/s and the best place to do it is Hashnest. You need to choose the most profitable contract and learn how to properly enter and exit trades. Once you have a position open the money you are earning from mining income is a bonus.
3170  Economy / Speculation / Re: Who didn't see this coming? on: July 17, 2015, 04:54:43 PM
So I need to sell all my bitcorns?

No. As long as the bitcoin price is above the 200 day simple moving average on a daily chart we are technically in a bull market. Price broke through on 28 June and has not even retested the SMA.

3171  Economy / Speculation / Re: Critical Levels - EW analysis on: July 17, 2015, 11:40:52 AM
As long as we stay above the 200 sma on a daily chart I am not concerned:

will break out the bubbly when the slope of the sma turns positive
3172  Economy / Securities / Re: Anything sustainable worth of investing? on: July 17, 2015, 11:29:02 AM
I have been making 15% returns per month consistently trading GH/s on the Hashnest exchange. It is important to identify the contract with the current highest yield, it is not always S5. In fact right now UMISOO is the winner. I explain how you can do it yourself at how to profit with Bitmain Hashnest.

3174  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Top Cloud Miners Compared by Profitability on: July 15, 2015, 08:27:18 PM
I just noticed on the Genesis Mining website that they have new 1 year contracts on offer.

So perhaps if someone could work out the ROI on those, that would be good.

For example the cheapest you can purchase is 250GH/s for 72.50 USD or 1TH for 290 USD.

Looks like the maintenance fees are the same at 0.0015 USD per GH/s but as contracts are cheaper, then ROI time should be less I guess.

Ian

Business must be slow, no other reason for them to release a lower priced contract. Using your maintenance fee I ran the numbers using the Coinplorer calculator. I set up the calculator to use the last 180 days difficulty increase and extrapolate into the future. Breakeven was longer than one year and at current BTC rate you would not even make your investment back. I guess the moral is never buy one year mining contracts, the only one who wins is the seller. There are better options like Hashnest.
3175  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: HASHNEST Discussion and Support Thread on: July 15, 2015, 07:48:56 PM
Shop: AntminerS5 Price: 440.0 USD

Every time the price seems good and I get close to pulling the trigger, they raise it. Only 1,100 units left in stock, I assume S7 released once stock runs out.

One Antminer S5 equals 1155 S5 GH/s. Right now you can buy 1155 GH/s S5 hash on the Hashnest market for $447 so the price of one miner bought to hash is fair. You could place a buy order at a lower price on the market to see if you could get 1155 GH/s at a better price but your chance of getting 1155 GH/s for less than $440 is slim looking at the order book. You can always follow the market and look for a down day to get the S5 hash at a better price.
3176  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Top Cloud Miners Compared by Profitability on: July 15, 2015, 06:16:04 PM
With BTC at $286 right now - UMISOO is paying an estimated 0.74155560972143600% daily...   Wink

Very nice, but how much power is UMISOO...? I can only seem to buy it on the market under Hash

I'm not sure I understand your question.  Yes, UMISOO is available from HashNest.  Choose the menu item "hash", then "UMISOO", then "market" to find the buying menu.

"Power" would be 0.67478569276522800% daily at present...  Wink

Sorry for the confusion. A hopefully better way of expressing it would be: How many GHS does UMISOO has, given that it can be bought as an unit (as we can buy an S5).

UMISOO are shares of AntS2 units.  You can buy as little as 1 GH/s.

Thank you, but that makes it even more confusing. Why are UMISOO shares separated from the regular S2s, which you also can buy as little as 1 GH/s of?

UMISOO is a 3rd party datacenter that hosts AntS2 units.  They were the first available per GH/s shares for sale when HashNest originally went live.

AntS2 units as listed now are hosted by BitMain.  There is no difference between the two except for price.  They both have the same payout and the same maintenance fee.

Why is there a price difference?  I guess more people trust the "AntS2 hosted by BitMain" idea and are willing to pay quite a bit more for that alone.

Personally I am loading up on UMISOO at the moment...  Wink

No one is buying S2 contracts. Price is more expensive than UMISOO and volume is very thin. I agree that UMISOO is the highest yielding contract at Hashnest this week. It has the second highest trading volume after S5 (which has a lower yield than UMISOO this week.)

in luc's option wave 2 is too short, bear market can not be wave 2, maybe wave 4, but imo ryn's option where 166 was wave A bottom and now we are having wave B is the most likely option, so 50-62% retrace from 1100 is the most likely target, or even just 38%, though it could make even smallish HH

http://www.tradingfives.com/articles/elliott-wave-guide.htm

here is a chart from RyNinDaCleM

I haven't seen that chart from RyNinDaCleM until now, maybe he didn't show it in this forum so the permabulls don't call him names? Cheesy
According to that chart, the bear market would last until July 2017, but the block reward halving is at the end of July 2016.
So the price could be around 250$ in July 2016 and only around 50$ one year after the block reward halving? I find this impossible,
unless there will be some major technical flaw with bitcoin, in which case double digits would be expensive, I hope such a disaster wont happen.
B is usually 50-100% of A so that can realize faster. This chart has been here before. I would not post it otherwise.

Yeah that ABC correction doesn't look possible given the block reward halving and increasing global financial instability. Is Wave 2 really so short as to make this ABC chart more plausible?

Wave 2? RyNinDaCleM wave count is that the 1163 high in November 2014 completed wave 5 of a five wave impulse and we are now in a three wave ABC corrective phase. Contrast his count to masterluc who believes we are still in wave 3 of the initial impulse.

All crap aside, i sold out my KHS with reasons being lack of transparency, no way to contact, reduced rewards (we should not cover his losses). Basically everything you shouldn't do when you run a business, he is doing.

These days I'm looking at one of the better ones less rewards but run properly.

The hack is very easy to see how it happened. A group of certain members lagged down the trade engine & database enough that they were able to get in.

It's your choice and your money. Thumbs up.
I think hashnest is a stable, been with them 7 months and no problems.

Hashnest way to expensive price.. minimum buy 1TH.. OMG

You can look at is as buying a stable investment.

It is stable and you can buy and sell from 1 GHs on the market. Roi about 0.7%

How can i buy from 1 GHS?

Open an account at Hashnest and transfer some bitcoin to your Hashnest wallet. Once your bitcoin arrives go to the 'Hash' tab and select which product you are interested in buying from UMISOO, S2-S5. Current best yield is from UMISOO. Click on 'Market' tab to see what the lowest ask price is. If there is enough hash for sale at the lowest ask price to fill your order go ahead and place your order in the buy section. If you are wanting to buy more hash than is for sale at lowest ask price you will have to go up the list to a higher ask price. Right now you can buy 1 GH/s UMISOO for 0.00030309 btc. Though buying just one GH/s is a waste of time. Think of several hundred minimum.

Nice.. thanks for info and guide..

Very welcome. People need to move away from the HYIP programs and support Hashnest. Right now UMISOO is the best contract to buy for highest yield but the best contract can change week to week. Every Monday I list the current best contract to buy here.

At Hashnest there are 5 classes of GH/s and they vary based on the amount of fees you are charged. S5 has the lowest as a percentage of earnings. All GH/s pay the same gross amount, it's the net that tends to vary. S2 is thinly traded so you can usually ignore it. Also the most profitable contract tends to vary week to week. Don't concentrate on ROI the most important figure is to calculate the daily $ yield per $ invested.
