You can play against others all the time though in the tournaments (freerolls even you can try). But it's Blackjack and even there you play against dealer, it's just your scores that count, winner is the one with most chips at the end of the contest.

I think in the end, the only one who will have disappointed fans is PSG and of course Bordeaux, what a farce they have both become at top and bottom of the league.
