3181  Other / Beginners & Help / Another episode of "Not your keys, not your Coins" on: January 22, 2022, 07:40:34 AM
This is all about the Crypto.com recent hacked[1], though the news mentioned of the steps of securities added to the exchange, yet it doesn't mentions if the users that were affected are refunded/compensated. This is why "not your keys not your coins" always matter[2].

This is another reminder to everyone whether you're a newbie or not, that using platforms such exchanges which the users doesn't have full control of their assets always have the risk of getting robbed, either the platform refunded it, worst if not.

3182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Gas Fee is too High? on: January 22, 2022, 07:15:59 AM
For simple reasons because it's network is too congested from different kind of transactions e.g. spam tokens, ico tokens, smart contracts, nft, and too many more to mention.

It's always frustrating but you need to move on and use other alternative networks if available.
3183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How To Send Message in Blockchain Transaction on: January 22, 2022, 07:10:24 AM
Cools stuff, maybe you can add if what eth explorer is compatible for this message stuff. Or maybe all of the existing eth explorer integrates it too?
3184  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: need help finding wallet on: January 22, 2022, 06:37:27 AM
Don't leave your crypto assets on any exchange platform too, maybe it's considerable in a short term but not in the long term.
The duration of the storage shouldn't be a deciding factor though. Only the purpose of it.
And don't forget the risk factor, if the user's trading capital fund is just a mere % of his assets then it could be reasonable whether its for long term or not. But if he stored almost his assets in an exchange for trading purpose, it's too risky and it's a no for me.

An example of why the merit implementation is useful, if merit isnt implemented, this guy will be a legendary member already with the help of Bounties section.
3186  Economy / Goods / Re: Gold from Africa on: January 17, 2022, 03:39:02 PM
So basically you're going to have clients near on your place or someone online?

I don't know if it's safe to ship gold from those countries (Africa) as the sender place where gold smuggling is common. So it will in danger the receiver too.
3187  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: A secure hardware wallet for Bitcoin ? on: January 15, 2022, 04:36:18 PM
Unbranded tablets on amazon seem to sell for £50, you could probably find some from a shop that price (just make sure they run android) and then you can airgap with electrum without buying something more specific/expensive.
I'll be more wary the security patch of these unbranded tablets if up to date.

I'll go buy trezor if the price is just little different.

Buying a $250 HW is insane, if the whole purpose is the same to a
those fully tested, secured and cheap one.
3188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jack Dorsey: Block is ‘officially building an open bitcoin mining system’ on: January 14, 2022, 02:13:51 AM
.. im guessing he is going to offer a 'cloud mining' service...
I wonder how his words will encourage people to invest or something similar to it in regards with this cloud mining. And how it differs to typical scam cloud mining.
3189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: January 14, 2022, 01:59:27 AM
Agree with you, at least Donaire is a real champion who is not afraid of losing, unlike other fighters who are just making sure they will not lose and because of that they will just choose to fight a fighter that they are certain they can dominate. I know some but I won't mentioned the name as I don't want to hurt the fans feelings, lol.
I will call them the smart champions, preserving their reputations, belt titles and money. While real champions are those you mentioned.
3190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Casimero vs Butler ordered by WBO on: January 12, 2022, 11:19:28 AM
.
Not sure about Donaire though, it seems that he is fine with staying at 118 lbs and we all know that he is not getting any younger to bouncing off in weight might be a big problem for him in the future.
Donaire get a hard time on the higher weight division although he get a title but doesnt last long, and eventually decided to go to lower weight division where he dominate before which he want to get it again but with inoue reigning i dont know if he can do it. Thats true that age affects a lot so lets see how it will go.
3191  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why have my posts and topics been missed? on: January 04, 2022, 06:45:45 AM

3192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Thurman vs Barrios - Feb 5 on: December 25, 2021, 11:30:59 AM
If I'm thurman I will not miss this oppurtunity to claim what he has before, train what he have to and focus on this only fight. He has power and a pro attitude that's why I like him, he's just becomes unfortunate after lossing to Pacman.

After winning this fight or two will probably give him opportunity to fight again on championships on the welterweight division.
3193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 2021 Bitcoin market recaps on: December 22, 2021, 02:01:38 PM
Indeed, hoping that we will see another the same story/thread in the end of 2022, new ATH and new adoption from a known huge company e.g. Amazon, or maybe ebay (soon).
3194  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto Wallet on: December 21, 2021, 05:19:53 PM
I only suggest wallets that is known and used by many like what people mentioned above. Don't ever make a try to those new random websites, google can give you every questions you ask, just make a proper keywords though.
3195  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is the difference between seed phrase and private key? on: December 16, 2021, 04:46:09 AM
The private key is a very long letter/number.  But do most people write that down as well?

Nope, if you have the seed phrase there is no more need to keep a copy of your private key. Your private key, after all, is derived from your seed phrase. Having the seed phrase under your sole control means you also have the sole control of your private key. If in the event that you specifically need your private key for whatever reason, you could always extract it from your seed phrase using iancoleman's BIP39 tool.

What if you only have the private key but not the seed phrase?
Converting it to qr code is reasonable instead of hand writing it.
3196  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can we talk about airdrops? on: December 14, 2021, 12:29:49 PM
3. Third-party tracking (such as Facebook and Google Analytic) will know you're interested on cryptocurrency.
I guess that's why many crypto-related posts are now appearing from my dummy account in Facebook long time ago before I stopped trying them, lol. Not that it is really an issue for me due to it being a dummy account, but quite concerning considering that you mentioned in #1, from just sending only an email address.

Deleting your search history, also your likes and followed page/person to avoid getting crypto related ads. Adblockers will also help from tracking your google search activities direct to facebook cookies or their ad algo.
3197  Other / Meta / Re: My Affiliate Business Sales Page Was Deleted. Why? on: December 14, 2021, 12:15:17 PM
I would really like a valid reason for my thread deletion
Apart from the primary reason that others have mentioned [referral links], there's also a secondary one:

  • I quickly went over the archived version of the thread in question and "none of them had anything to do with BTCitcoin!"
Auto delete if its the case  Cheesy
3198  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Uniswap transfer and then immediate with draw from my wallet on: December 12, 2021, 07:16:30 AM
Still wondering why the hacker still left 19k life to the wallet. If you think that those remaining tokens/funds on your wallet are still important, I suggest you to transfer it to your new setup wallet to avoid bigger problems in the future.
3199  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Can we talk about airdrops? on: December 12, 2021, 06:02:06 AM
Just leave it alone if the airdrop tokens you got needed payment like minereum wherr you have to pay to be able to send your minereum to sell or trade whatever you lioe but the truth is you won't be able to do that. In short, it is a scam attempt where they send you a lot of tooens then you must send a fee as explained earlier.
It doesn't make sense actually if that he needs to pay more for the fees moving to the exchange more than the token he has.
I really don't think how these airdrops are worth participating with. They are almost 100% worthless and scam things. Yeah, you may receive a 1mil token, that was really huge but the price is $0, not even listed to any exchanges, that seems useless.
But in the first place, we could think also who would like to give that? Who would like to give money freely? That is why we never have to expect airdrop to gain value but just only $0.
I would ignore such tokens received out from nowhere, there are incidents that this token is meant as a smart contract scams/hacks. Once you want to send the tokens out, you will touch the smartcontract and will collect the balance of your wallet, and will be successful transfer once the address has enough balances for fee.
3200  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How many people are using bitcoin wallets? on: December 12, 2021, 05:57:17 AM
There's no centralized list/database to get such data apparently. So your question cannot be answered, you will just hear speculations that is nowhere to become truth.
