I am not keeping Lucko from getting the board fixed. On the contrary, I have even provided the full schematics for it to aid him in debugging when that wasn't part of the original agreement. I have no problem working with Lucko to try and fix the issue, and providing him the tools he needs to try to debug it himself. I would (as I have in the past) debug it and try to isolate what the problem is free of charge, though what I am able to do is extremely limited without access to hardware. The only thing I am not agreeing to is the sharing of all the design files. Believe me, I want to see this resolved as much as anyone. Excellent and that's what I would expect from you. Heck at this point too bad You and Us could not get our hands on a board to help out. I just hope it could be soon as BTC will be on the rise again and give these old BFL chips a resurrection of use. Especially those with unlimited power or not being charged for power. The Offer Still Stands: We could get our Tech guy to test and try to find a fix free of charge. We have approached you on a few occasions to send us a board and we will have our tech guy find out what's wrong with it and provide a FIX for it.
I'm not sure how can I explain that to you any clearer than I did in a past. I'm not allowed to share this data. Did you ever hear for intellectual property? I'm not even allowed to share any data with Form(re-asked that and got same answer again). If you would like to get Chili blueprints contact MrTeal not me. So please stop. Isn't is a little late to be fixing this generation of board? Refund and close it all out.
My guess is, Lucko not in the position to refund anything.  Unfortunately you are right. I don't have anything near the money needed for that... I have some working Chili boards I could be bribed to sell to UK buyers.

I will be making my decision in about 18 hours. Currently, here is my analysis of the situation: Refund for late delivery (1.1845 BTC requested)Due to the following, unless additional information is shown to prove otherwise, I expect that MikeMike will not be compensated for late delivery. - The escrow agreement specifically states that lost mining will be compensated for each day delivery is late AFTER Wednesday 2014-04-30
- The escrow agreement specifically states that escrow release conditions can be modified if both parties notify the escrow provider about agreement with the change.
- Prior to the shipping, I never saw an agreement from either party that the deadline for lost mining compensation was to be moved earlier due to this desire.
- Without agreeing to a change of the compensation deadline, MikeMike made payment to the escrow address.
- Without agreeing to a change of the compensation deadline, soniq made an effort to deliver.
- Delivery of the 4 delivered units was successfully made before the agreed upon deadline had expired.
- After delivery, I finally saw from MikeMike that he wanted the compensation deadline be moved earlier, but I still have not seen any indication that soniq ever agreed to an earlier deadline for late delivery compensation
Refund of balance due (0.06 BTC requested)Due to the following, unless additional information is shown to prove otherwise, I expect that MikeMike will not be compensated for balance due at the beginning of the transaction. - It is clear that prior to the beginning of the transaction soniq owed MikeMike some bitcoins.
- It is also clear that both parties agreed to apply that balance toward the purchase of 2 units.
- During price negotiation, soniq agreed to ship 2 of the units that he already had on hand in exchange for this balance.
- MikeMike agreed to the exchange of the remaining balance for 2 of the units on hand
- The negotiated cost of 2 of the remaining units on hand (including shipping) is slightly more than the balance that soniq owed.
- Therefore it appears that soniq accepted reduced compensation for the first 2 units in exchange for the settling his debt
- Those 2 units were delivered
Refund of undelivered product (7.8 BTC requested)Due to the following, unless additional information is shown to prove otherwise, I expect that MikeMike will be compensated for 1 undelivered unit. - Mike agreed to pay for 5 units.
- Mike has supplied tracking information that he states is for the fifth unit
- The supplied tracking information indicates that the fifth unit was not delivered.
- soniq has not made any statements denying that the provided tracking information is for the fifth unit
- As such, to the best of my ability to determine, the fifth unit was not delivered.
Total refund I expect to release to MikeMike if no additional information is provided in the next 17 hours: 7.8 BTC After processing the 7.8 BTC refund, the remaining balance of escrow will be released to soniq. NOTE: It is unclear to me at the moment exactly what the negotiated price was for the 2 units that were exchanged for the debt owed. It is also unclear to me at the moment who paid the delivery costs on those 2 units. If it can be demonstrated that the agreed price was less than the balance owed, or that MikeMike paid the shipping costs on those 2 units, then there is a possibility that MikeMike may have a valid claim for a portion of that debt.Danny, #1 We were unaware of the Wednesday Deadline set. It was always something happening but if you are saying that I wasn't doing nothing last 10 days that is right. I was waiting and yesterday I got the report back.
1. it is put together correctly
2. they replaced components that can't be measured(with same as they were used for all batches)
Board is still not working and what they think is that there is ether a
1. defective component that is on all boards and in extra parts I still have but was not on all others that worked(all is same batch)
2. something to do with firmware
3. something to do with PCB that can't be detected in static stage and happens only in special conditions
I shared that with MrTeal too...
P.S.: I also looked over what was left over and it is in a ball park(some are always lost do to replacements when checked, inserting into PnP...)

#2 5th Unit not delivered etc.
FIRST:
I do not believe soniq is nor has been trying to take advantage of us in these matters.
We believe he has his plate full as I do so I can be understanding...and actually look forward to do more business in the Future.
We were told by soniq that he had the 5th repaired unit from the Manufacturer available to him
so made this deal for the entire 5-units.
It was not until about an hour or less prior to shipment we are told that the 5th Unit was being rerouted from the Manufacturer to us.
We made sure it was to be delivered to the Georgia Address and have many PM's denoting that concern
and sent a few PM's asking for it's tracking Number to no avail.
After about a week we spoke to soniq.
He let us know it was held in Customs awaiting a Label to First be shipped back to the Manufacturer and Then to Georgia.
That it was Company Policy for re-Routing a Miner.
We let him know we did no longer want the 5th unit as too much time transpired.
However left the door open upon NOTICE from soniq of an actual Delivery Date to Georgia being it was still held in Customs
and had to first be shipped to the Manufacturer for rerouting to Georgia.
Then we could renegotiate a Price. soniq Agreed.
After no reply for days concerning it's delivery and only after Danny became involved soniq
mentioned it had been delivered.
Whether or not he knew the Tracking Number he provided was the one for Delivery Back
to the Manufacturer I do not know.
The Tracking showed Delivery to the Manufacturer NOT to Georgia.
Being we have not heard from soniq on a possible Delivery Date to Georgia we are requesting
this 5th unit's BTC be Refunded.
7.8BTC
NOTE:
The Label cost for Overnight Services to Georgia USA is a Non-Issue
since it has not been used and we will not be billed.
In the Prior email it's noted the Packages did not make it to the Drop Off Friday
and we do not accept responsibility for this Delay.
The 4-Units were not Delivered till Tuesday 10:30am...
3- Full Days Late:
We are only asking for lost mining time for 2-of those days since the Delivery Service made an Error
and we should have had them Monday 10:30am.
Though we have not received any compensation for this error it shows we are being more than fair
in only asking for lost mining time for 2-Full days and at the amount of hashing speed for the 4-Units
per the Actual Amount of Blocks Found during that time by the Pool.
Grand Total BTC refund Requested:
9.0445 BTC.
A:
1.1845 BTC: Lost mining revenue due to late delivery.
Lost mining for 48hrs on 6.4TH/s at Corresponding Difficulty:
We estimate this at:
.59225 per day/24hrs. based upon the amount of blocks found on those two days.

You notified us last minute you thought the quality was not sufficient so we had to rescan and send to you again.

The Originals AND each consecutive email each had a Name, Destination and Separate Tracking number and file labelled accordingly as well as the Heading of the email listing what it contained.
1-To go to Georgia USA.
4-To go to East Coast USA.
Though soniq knew 4-Units were going to East Coast USA massive confusion took over
and only after I mentioned to look at the 4-Labels clearly sent with the last 4-Digits of the Tracking number
as the File name...To look at those last 4-Digits. They were 4-Different Labels NOT 4- of the same Label.
After Explaining this soniq finally got it BUT I believe he at that time only had 25 minuets to print the labels,
tape them to the boxes and deliver to the drop off in time for the pickup for next day services.
We called the shipping Company and they Confirmed the cutoff time.
Though the Originals were sent a few hours prior...
soniq was fully aware of the next day services rendered and was fully compliant with meeting those terms
to get the 4- Units to the Drop-off in time for Saturday Delivery to the East Coast USA.

I downloaded that program and the Bitmain.img file in the quotes but My win32 disk Imager program doesn't offer any option to format. I can format in windows explorer under fat32 I used "Default Unit Size" as Allocation unit size optionquick format checked. I tried to do this to one miner and it worked! Only after i bought a new micro sd card, I think re-writing the micro sd a bunch of times corrupted it. I'll try the same on the other two now. OK Update.. Good news all 3 1TH/s miners are hashing, the problem was with the Micro SD cards. 3 new Verbatim 8gb cards & it works. If you SSH into the OS and do a shutdown prior to powering down, you will greatly reduce the chances of trashing your SD card. The problem is likely to happen when you power off while a program is writing data to the file system. MBP Bitfury rigs delivered last year also had the same problem. Of course, getting good SD cards like you did also helps a lot. Has anybody figured out why this is happening? I can't find anything in the OS that writes to the file system. I'm way out of my league here BUT IF you have more than one S2 I found I could copy the good file from one SD card and then after deleting all the files on the other card just paste them in. Of course you need to only have one running at a time since both would have the same IP address and would need it to be changed to another...so you don't have conflicts...that can cause problems too needing to do a reset to default. You could also just have someone mail you the SD cards contents IF you only have 1-S2... |

I have a major problem and need troubleshooting help! Today all 3 of my 1TH/s miners stopped working.  One stopped working after mining non-stop for a couple of weeks (it was left alone and untouched) so it couldn't of been hit at all. I turned it off and back on, nothing. I ordered a total of 3 from batch one and today all 3 stopped working after i turned them off and back on! all i did was power down and turn them back on & the screen just displays a dark blue square, a red light & the fans always run full blast, I cant even see them on my network. I find it strange that all 3 decided to kick the bucket on the same day. Should I RMA all 3 i'm not sure what to do. wait 10 minutes then try again. Shut off PSU by the switch on it. Wait till it cools. Restart. Run heavier cable and in cooler area and/or on the floor or basement etc. |

i have a problem with all of my antminer s2.
it keeps turning off after 15-30min hashing, then it need to be unplug for 5 min before it can be turn on again. anyone having the same problem?
perhaps firmware issue or other known issue ??
btw, how to control the fan?
PSU it is! Sounds like it. Quick test and sort-of fix is to pull one board. Put it in the coolest place and on floor if possible. Just a few degrees may allow it to run for now. |

Bitmain - we have had a great relationship for the past few months. Sadly, it looks like it's ending.
You are no longer competitive given the S2's fragility and high price. There are better options that are built more solidly and don't cost as much.
But I'll keep watching. Hopefully you come to market with a product as great as the S1's were for their time.
We just had an S2 arrive destroyed. All blades out of slots and in a bunch. It won't boot. All BITMAIN needs to do is put foam on both sides of the blade rails and on top of the main card in the middle since it's shorter. They could also Pop Rivet two flats to those rails and the sides of the case. So what the case cover sticks up a tiny bit. It's worth the peace of mind. |

Is BTC6.5 bad investment for batch 3?
IMHO yes...not a good investment... Let's do some math... S1 is 0.831 BTC ...or $410-415 ( @112Bit as well)... S2 is generally replicated 5 x S1 ...in a rack box ...10 blades vs 2 blades design...900Gh vs 1000Gh So $410 x 5 = around $2,000 ...add 1 more blade ...around $2,100 ...all other parts, including PSU, case, LED etc are maybe another $100 at cost...$2,200...but they are saving of 4 controllers less...and they are not so cheap... My guess is that In May we will see price in the $2,000 and a change range... What do you think...? Am I missing something...? S2 is way over priced BUT saves on electricity. Still overpriced though... |
