  • Play the games that you’re skilled at
~

This is a tricky part. When I was only starting, years ago, I thought I was skilled in dice game. Smiley Really, I thought I'd figured it out. And, amazingly enough, it was kind of "working". For weeks! I wasn't making a fortune, but 2-3 bucks per day was big money for me back then.

Then, of course, it stopped working, because it was never working, in the first place. Only later I learned that you can invent any strategy for any purely luck-based game, and it can be "working" for some time.

So, before starting playing "the games that you’re skilled at", find out, do those games depend on skill, at least partially.

  • The computational power behind blockchain is the equivalent of what one could do in a centralized way with a $100 computer.

If you want a centralized server you can have one for $100. The price for decentralization is much higher. So?
~

That's right, the price is higher, but it's fully worth it. Imagine all your life savings put in a bank which works for many years without problems, but one day you wake up and read in the news that today you can buy 5 times less for your money than yesterday, and tomorrow it will be even worse. You go to the bank hoping to withdraw your money and buy gold or something with it, and see a huge line of angry people in front of the closed door.

Also, the "$100" argument here is a weak one. Banks spend more than $100 on security, right?
3185  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Russian Invasion of Ukraine[In Progress] on: June 03, 2022, 07:38:37 AM

My personal view is that selling material that will be used to defend the Ukrainian territory is legal and does not remove "non-belligerent" claims, as long as it is not used to strike in Russian territory - again IMHO even that would also bee acceptable if targeting troops or means used for the invasion. That is why US and UK have been very reluctant to send their versions of MLRS (the HIMARS) which have nothing to do with the RF MLRS - much longer range, technologically advanced munitions.

So, for now, even M777 that are used within Ukraine are perfectly acceptable IMHO. The switchblades, Javelin, etc.. are pretty much defensive weapons just to provide infantry with a fighting chance against armoured groups.

On Iran closing Ormuz, I do not see how that could be a defensive act. Attacking or blockading ships would be an act of war and it would justify a strong response.

The HIMARS are on the way. Don't worry, brothers. The first four are already in Europe, and they are meant for training purposes. Later, when our soldiers will learn to operate HIMARS, we'll be receiving dozens of them until the invaders will run off of our land. There's no two ways about it. It's important for the whole world to see that an attempt to change the government of another sovereign country by force fails.

If he drops a nuke, I think it will be the 'all gloves off' type of a fight. I don't think he will go there. Russia is not ready for it.
~

I agree with you. Using nukes may very well turn the remaining few allies of Russia against it. Nobody wants nukes used in any war on earth. That's why we have the Nuclear Weapon Ban Treaty. Violate the Treaty and you'll see armies from all over the world on your land sooner than you think.
3188  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin's historical correlation with traditional markets begins to weaken on: June 02, 2022, 07:04:10 AM
The historical correlation of bitcoin with traditional markets continues to decline.
~

I've always had a feeling that there should an inverse correlation between Bitcoin and the stock market, and now I'm happy that it's starting to happen.

Before BTC becomes broadly accepted money, it can serve as a store of value for those who can see that it's actually better than gold in that regard.

South African rapper, cool. Just reading about him now, people in that area of the world love to gamble so there’s no doubt his influence will be good for bitcasino.io

I didn't know him before I saw that Bitcasino.io's tweet from May 31 about their new ambassador. Then I started researching too. The guy is really famous. Just look at how many twitter followers he has:

Almost 4 million!

For those who don't use twitter and doesn't know whether it's a lot, here's Bjork's account

And I know Björk for ages, like since I was born. Smiley So, 3.9M followers is actually a lot.

Good choice for both, Bitcasino.io and Cassper Nyovest, to work with each other.

3191  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-05-02]Wikipedia has stopped accepting cryptocurrency donation on: June 01, 2022, 01:54:48 PM

However, seeing Wiki as a pretty "hungry" organization - they do put big banners begging for money now and then - I think that's a losing move on their side. Although they've received "only" 130k worth of crypto as donations, it's much better than nothing.

I used to see those banners pretty often in the past, and, frankly, they were annoying. But I have stopped seeing them since a year ago, or maybe even earlier. I'd forgotten I even had them until I saw this topic today. So I went to the Wikipedia front page and clicked "Donate" here

and here's what I saw then

It turns out that they have stopped accepting not only cryptocurrency donations. It's strange. Does anyone else have the same result after clicking "Donate" on Wiki?
3192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NFT slot Machine !! on: June 01, 2022, 10:33:25 AM
~ they are trying to build the whole concept around Metaverse with adding the NFT concept as well, I think this is quite different and would like to know the thoughts regarding this, would you play? Would you own the NFT, it's good to see the casinos coming up with new ideas.
~

Not all NFTs are valuable. In fact, most of them are not. And imo there's a high probability of Lucky Degens being in that zero value pool. I would definitely play in a casino where you a have a chance of winning an NFT from Bored Ape Yacht Club, CryptoPunks or, now trending, goblintown.wtf, but having my RTP lowering for a chance of winning something of zero value, or even with the same RTP but in a shady casino ... I don't want that.
3193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a good time to start accepting BTC? on: June 01, 2022, 09:41:25 AM
Hello all,

I have been following Bitcoin prices for some time, and now I'm doubtful if it is a good time to start accepting it as it has changed so much in the past months. Those who accept Bitcoin - is it worth it? And do you accept Bitcoin straight to your wallet, or do you use third-party services?

Thanks in advance!

From what we know from Bitcoin history, BTC always surpasses it's previous ATH. So, today it's a good time for accepting Bitcoin, but under one condition: you must be good with holding your BTC for the next couple of years, or maybe even 3-4 years. Yes I'm positive that another ATH will be achieved, but it can take some time.

Don't get me wrong, I personally think that a new ATH can happen with high probability this very year, but we should be prepared for the worst, you know.
3194  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The effect of drugs abuse on youths on: June 01, 2022, 08:34:55 AM
Nearly 60% of youths are prone to drug abuse and are been influenced by peers group ,who make them indulge in this act ,this makes the youth have a higher ratio of drug addiction ,this is why they dominate a higher population at the correctional centers facilities, mental homes facilities, prison facilities due to drug influence reaction.
There have been increase in the cases of rape ,robbery ,homocides, depression, suicide, gang fight and this cases have shown a large number of youth engagement in this crimes.
Increase in domestic abuse ,marriages are caused by this drugs influence and anger management problem faced by many of this youths ,both male and female gender.

What can the government, communities and parents do to cure this situation .

Legalize everything, that's my answer. I must say, I'm neither a lawyer nor a doctor, it's just my personal opinion based on what I read and see with my own eyes. Drug abuse is bad, no doubt about it, but so is alcohol abuse, tobacco abuse and many other things. Legalize drugs and you'll make them less attractive to the youth who always wants to do something illegal. Make broccoli illegal, and the youth will start using it more.
3195  Economy / Gambling / Re: Gambling Brand Name Vs Site Functionality? Or Both? on: June 01, 2022, 08:17:45 AM
I see a lot of great Casinos and Sports Betting platforms here that doesn't really have great brand name but have excellent functionalities and quality designs. While some ( not so many) do have both great designs,  functionality and perfect brand name, so many majority simply don't. So, I was wondering. If I'm going to spend so much money to build a great gambling platform, why not just spend extra little more to acquire a great name? After all, nothing is greater in business than your brand equity.

What do you think? I'd like to understand the mindset of some gambling operators and start ups. What do you consider to be the most important in your gambling startup? Great name or site functionality or both?

First off, it would be very interesting to know what do you mean by "perfect/great brand name"? Examples. Also examples of "bad" brand names would interesting to see too. I personally think that the thing is subjective, in the first place. And overall, you don't love or hate a casino because of its name. If a casino has excellent functionalities, you start loving its name whatever it is.

Who of you guys bet on the "$30,001 - $32,500" or "$32,501 - $35,000" ranges?

Now we can say that one these ranges will win. Congrats. Especially if BTC hits over $32,501 in the next hours. 7.50x is a good multiplier to your bet, isn't it? Smiley

I myself missed the betting this time, but even if I bet I'd bet on the "$25,001 - $30,000", so I'd definitely lose it. Again, congrats to you, optimists! Smiley
3200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you spread BTC to people within you on: May 31, 2022, 04:13:06 PM
Hello all,

As a lover of Bitcoin how do you spread Bitcoin, i mean how do you tell people about Bitcoin and it's adoptions?
To me i have held many discussions with friends in college with me, sometimes teaching them blockchain, the future of Bitcoin and why we should buy and hold Bitcoin, how the world will be in 5 years to 10 years to come. With this little meetings i have been able to share with my friends and also spread bitcoin to mates in college and i know they will do the same and if everyone does the same tell me what will be of Bitcoin today. So let us support Bitcoin max Adoption by telling people arounds us, bitcoin remains the future of money.

Bitcoin is the future of money. I do believe that. But when it comes to advising someone to invest in BTC I'm always sayingб invest only the amount you can live without for the next 3-4 years. People lost a lot of money aiming for the quick buck and then panic selling several months later with huge losses. Imo, the best advice for people who are not rich would be to try to earn BTC instead of investing in it.
