3181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will NFT bring any change in crypto gambling industry? on: March 11, 2021, 06:23:39 PM
I don't get the hype. I don't understand why would anybody pay to take the ownership of a digital asset at all. No need to say I don't think that it is going to affect gambling industry in any way. This is just another toy for the super rich people so they can show off imo.

me neither. this is somewhat like the cryptokitties but this time it's the popular people who release NFTs like Logan Paul for instance which his NFT card was sold for $5M. i don't understand how the price came to be that high but jeez it's a digital card. now I'm not sure how NFTs could be in the gambling industry unless there will be someone/popular company that will create unique NFT for MMORPG games probably as prize for the winners.
3182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🔷 Waves Tech - a powerful blockchain-agnostic ecosystem on: March 11, 2021, 05:13:14 PM
When we get the Binance NSBT Distribution?

Seems it is already delivered. You can find it at binance "Transaction History", but it isn't shown in the spot wallet this moment.
Rate is about 0.00048 NSBT for 1 Waves.

does it even have a value?

i have been received hundreds of tokens in my wallet but none of them appears to have any value at all. is it on swop?
there is no way of verifying whether the tokens received do have a market. i was interested to come back again to try trading since i can see waves.exchange volume had gained volume. quite good that it's competing and listed on CMC DEX too.

3183  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin could win the currency war on: March 11, 2021, 09:53:59 AM

BTC can sit side by side with the currency that will dominate just as how it does today where USD and BTC can be paired. if China's CNY can somehow rise over USD, BTC will still be alongside.  BTC will still not replace any fiat even when there is a dominating power. i don't think there will even be a war if they intend to, they could have done so when China had yet not established an air defense zone in the south China sea.
3184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 11, 2021, 09:04:49 AM
Must listen and watch Aljamain Sterling post fight interview with MMA Fighting Damon Martin.
I know guy got a knee in the head but he is now acting like a champion and he said that fight was even except in last round, and he even say that he still feels some presure in his head  Smiley
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZMKigmG2ixo

And here is Petr Yan post-fight interview with Ariel Helwani:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xf9UEzE4w0M

Can't wait for them to fight again and UFC will surely make a lot of money from this.

glad they asked Yan the right question. it's obvious sterling really can make it to oscar. mma fighters get hit all the time to the head but with just this soft knee, he acted like he wanted the belt without a fight. he is going to really bring this shame to life. he acted worse when someone from his corner says its an intentional because the ref says he's down when the knee was thrown.

3185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers - How do you use your signature campaign earnings? on: March 11, 2021, 08:17:29 AM
I haven't received much payment in my signature campaign so right now my plan is to hodl the bitcoin that I will receive as it is at most a trickle amount and I don't think that gambling it or spending it on anything is going to be worth it. Maybe when I get enough bitcoin, I might go and buy a new phone or something that isn't worth a lot of money but is worth buying.

if the pay will go into your account in the casino wallet, you may be tempted to actually roll a dice or bet a sports match. once you read something like the strategies on winning dice or a thread in the gambling forum about a football or a boxing match, it could spark an interest in you that you could buy a new phone with just one bet. but you're safe if the BTC goes into your personal wallet at least you can hold it there for a long time.

3186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: 90% of bounty hunter never care about the quality of post on: March 11, 2021, 07:30:06 AM

i feel you OP, we already know that the 10% that are like me are the only ones who care.  Cheesy

the bounty manager could really impose strict rules when it comes to accepting participants so he can make sure that the only ones who join are the ones that can participate in a good discussion. this will however make the campaign slightly unsuccessful since the goal of promoting a new project is to make their project visible to the community. if only a few people can participate, the project might not get attention.
3187  Economy / Economics / Re: The President creates a "Ministery of Extraterrestrial Affairs" on: March 11, 2021, 07:08:27 AM

Quote
The agency was approved by 76 legislators Wednesday in the country’s congress, which is dominated by President Daniel Ortega’s Sandinista Party. Fifteen opposition legislators abstained.

despite it being a crazy idea, it's been approved by 76 legislators. their president put his trust in his councils full of shamans.
it appears that the Chinese had been developing projects there which this president also authorized a Chinese company to build a $50 billion canal across the country.

Chinese or no Chinese, Nicaragua government should focus more on their people specially how they can get vaccine. Not on something that people thinks their government are going nuts.

Promote space program? Only first world country has that kind of distinction so I doubt that Nicaragua even with the help of the Chinese can developed it. They still needed knowledge, the right man power, facilities etc. The Chinese government are just using them.

their country had been around for a long time though and no one is helping them but the Chinese so who else will they rely on but the ones that are supporting them. they can't expect that from US.
3188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Canelo Alvarez vs Billy Joe Saunders - May 8 on: March 10, 2021, 05:21:51 PM
This is not related to Canelo or Saunders, but will "champion be still a champion" if he was loosing the fight and won only due to disqualification (landed an illegal strike not on purpose, but while being in a "rage-mode") of his opponent?
My comment was about "power level" mate. Yes, generally top-3/5 rank are strong compared to the rest. So in the case of disqualification and stuff, as long as, the title fight is between those ranks, well.. "a champion is still a champion." Hence anyone trying to fight the champ will still respect him because his "power level" is up there. Sometimes, luck is what makes the champ stands out from the other top-3/5.

Canelo lost over Mayweather but in an interview, Mayweather admitted that Canelo can box and hard to beat. he pays respect to Canelo that they lasted 12 rounds. a champ is a champ. if they do a rematch, Mayweather might be in a dangerous position knowing he is already past prime 44 years of age.

with Saunders, he has the experience advantage due to his southpaw stance if he could establish lead foot to throw a power punch as Pacquaio would do it.
3189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: NFT Pegged Real Assets on: March 10, 2021, 04:44:28 PM
NFT while you are digitalized item into virtual and you must destroy the item you are digitalized to make it has some valuable, If not doing that then the NFT not really worth anything for what purpose then we digitalized that item if there has 2 item (in real life& digital item) represented 1 item?

I mean we have to lock the real world item as a collateral like we create USDT. Each and every NFT is having underlying asset which is really pegged to that asset. For example, we lock a gem and create an NFT for it?

how do you lock a gem?

there were blockchain projects related to gold that is somehow tokenized. the idea could turn bad since it has to be kept in a centralized vault and it could mean the project is centralized if we are going to be talking who locks the gem. its also going ot be checked/audited every now and then when the community starts to become paranoid.  Cheesy
3190  Economy / Economics / Re: Food prices doubled this year on: March 10, 2021, 09:34:19 AM
After a year of this thread, I can clearly say that prices are increased but it is yet to be doubled in my region. Governments are increasing tax rates at the time of Pandemic not it is getting added to the actual price of the products and it will increase further when the new normal begins.

Which country you are residing in? Even if the tax rates are increased, that should not have much impact on the food prices. Because the governments almost never increases the tax on agricultural products. However, increasing oil prices may cause additional expenses in transporting food products. Here in my country there has been no increase in the food prices. We are paying the same rates that we used to pay before the pandemic.

Certain Imported and factory made foods increased by about 10—50% where I live. But prices of agricultural produce from local farmers seem to remain thesame or increased a bit. I honestly don't worry about the increase in factory made foods because lots of them are contain ingredients that are harmful to people.
I prefer to see people buy more fresh organic fruits/veg like tomato rather than the heavily processed factory-made ones.  People need lots of healthy foods to handle the global disease better. Interestingly, the bad foods price seem to increase in the pandemic while the good ones remains very affordable for people to use for their health... That is what I would likely do to the food market until the bad food completely disappear.

it's the prices of fresh fruits and veggies that increased in my country. it varies in the provinces and to the National capital region where there is a middleman that hoard the products making the prices higher. factory made products are very much controlled by the government afaik there is mandate that the companies won't increase the price.

its not going to be prevented and over time prices will just go up when production costs are high as well. and the pandemic is not helping anyone.

3191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best investment advice for everyone this 2021 on: March 10, 2021, 08:39:30 AM

the forum users are actually a good community to ask because they are already in crypto for years. they've heard everything here from scams to legit projects that turned scam. there is no other qualified community that will give you advice in crypto but the bitcointalk community. most of the advice you get if not so sure about investing in crypto is just buy BTC and hold.

if you can earn BTC instead of buying then earn it.
3192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Canelo Alvarez vs Billy Joe Saunders - May 8 on: March 10, 2021, 07:36:14 AM
Canelo Alvarez-Billy Joe Saunders Fight Officially Announced, May 8 At Site TBD
Quote
Now that Canelo Alvarez has torn through the WBC’s mandatory challenger for his 168-pound championship, he can fully focus on the first of two title unification fights he hopes to win later this year.

As expected, Matchroom Boxing announced after Alvarez’s three-round demolition of Avni Yildirim on Saturday night that he’ll battle unbeaten WBO champion Billy Joe Saunders on May 8. The site of the Alvarez-Saunders bout wasn’t announced, but promoter Eddie Hearn informed BoxingScene.com before Alvarez defeated Yildirim that Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, are the two venues under serious consideration.

OK, this is the fight that we all have been waiting for Canelo, another legit challenger in Billy Joe Saunders. BJS is solid in all area, well rounded, technically sound and I think he will give Canelo one hell of a fight here, more competitive obviously against Avni Yildirim. Canelo himself admitted that Saunders will be a difficult fight for him.

But I will still give the edge to Canelo here, probably by decision.
This is what we have been waiting for, Canelo is going for the reunification of all the tittles so he had no choice but to face the mandatory opponent he was given, it was a waste of time but at least it will serve as a warm up to the real fight, this is not going to be easy for Canelo but I see him winning this fight as long as he does not become overconfident and trains as hard as he should as I expect this fight to go all the way to the end, and with this in mind the overall physical shape of both fighters will be critical in order to decide a winner.

by the replies, we could already see Canelo is the winning bet.  there is just so much Canelo had done in the past compare to Billy Joe Saunders when we look at the names of the opponents he beaten there the famous names including Shane Moseley, Kovalev and then Miguel Cotto. although both of them started at a young age,  there is no discounting Canelo is a much stronger fighter. the fight will just taint 1 loss for Billy Joe's record.

3193  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why I am confident Bitcoin price will still rise A LOT before the next big crash on: March 10, 2021, 05:51:05 AM
This is pretty much following what PlanB's stock to flow chart analysis predicts, which is all good.

But is there really going to be a crash? I mean the market or scene has changed from the 2017 to
2018 correction, its not all OTC investors now, there are serious Hodlers in Bitcoin who say they
wont be selling.

Don't underestimate the FOMO and FUD of greedy people in large groups...

Every cycle there are people getting into bitcoin trying to get rich quick. Putting in all their money.
Then when it goes down they are in the hole and then bills come pouring in and they are forced to sell...
Stupid traders will cause the crash...

well everything in crypto is possible. bitcoin hitting 150k might be too much of optimism but for some of us it will be more than that. the fomo is going to overhype crypto but the fall could also very terrible. just as how history show when btc touched $3k during the bear market.

not knowledgeable about Pi Cycle Top so its very interesting to see someone used 111 and 350 DMA.
how do we know the market is very overheated?

My experience is that the market is overheated when

- Bitcoin is mentioned in mainstream media (TV)
- Everyone around you talks about it
- People around you start buying and trading shitcoins
- The price is going up at an insane rate (look at last 30 days before previous ATH)
- etc.

maybe true. a very popular guy in finance like Elon Musk investing $1.5B in BTC is big news. one could say he is one of the guys hyping but this is actually old news. he is in the crypto space for a long time ago. i can see BTC on newspapers though so yes it's spreading. the problem however is that the price is too high already for an ordinary guy will not be able to afford it.

3194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Has anyone placed esports bets? on: March 10, 2021, 04:46:12 AM
the entire time i watch the video just picking up what they are talking about is already making me insane.  you have to be a real gamer to be able to follow what they are talking about and most probably if you wanted to bet as well, you really have to be familiar with the games and the guys out there in the team.

i thought i could understand because once upon a time i was addicted to Counter-Strike but this esports gambling is not what a casino gambler would have a chance of winning.

3196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I pick some PEAK? on: March 09, 2021, 10:32:49 AM
Any other thoughts about them? Roll Eyes

just pick the popular ones, not this one. like the user above said this project didn't have an Announcement thread here, it would have been a good reference to check what other users here had asked about the project. they started last year around march but it's only now that we heard of this Peak. seem odd but yes at your own risk, you seem to have decided already that you promoted it here.
3197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: This Crypto Looks So Good For Future Investment. on: March 09, 2021, 09:39:56 AM
Is the coin HAC? You should at least leave some comments than just posting the link, I do not see much about the coin, no link to the coin than the one you posted above that does not reveal anything, make some comments in the OP board and tell us more about the coin.

I will like people to know to be careful of altcoins, some coins are just scam, the coin above HACASH is not on coinmarketcap, I say another one instead which is also HAC called Hackspace Capital (HAC), this just mean that any coin not listed on coinmarketcap should not be considered a legit coin until it is listed there.

its actually on CMC. this page https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/hackspace-capital/
the data says a lot about the project. it appears like there is a market for HAC before it got delisted. hard to get listed on any exchange today particularly to a coin that has its own blockchain unlike having an ERC20 token that they could just like on Uniswap and the likes. with something like HAC, it's a long way from where they are.
3198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does BITCOIN make a person's life better !? on: March 09, 2021, 03:50:44 AM
If you look thoroughly, then BITCOIN is just money, but like money, can it improve the world around, and humanity as a whole !?
I don’t think “good” and “BITCOIN” are the same thing, most likely the opposite.
Because of money, a person becomes weaker, he does not need to do something, to develop, because money will do it for him.
Things do not work like that, bitcoin is just a tool and tools can be used to improve your life but at the same time tools can be bad for your life, think of an automobile, it can greatly improve your life and makes your ability to go from point A to point B easier and faster but there are also many people that have misused their automobiles when they drink or take other substances while driving and they have either suffered injuries or even lost their lives while driving, and a similar logic applies to any tool including bitcoin.

OP is viewing it differently. i'm not sure if he wants us to live without money.

bitcoin improved the lives of people in Nigeria and in other countries who are unbanked. it's all just money as OP said but bitcoin is very different for you can look at it as an investment because its value can increase that you can be richer as before. it helped the less fortunate profit from BTC.
3199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee charged with fraud over cryptocurrency on: March 08, 2021, 06:36:18 AM
For me, alongside Mark Karpeles and Craig Wright, John McAfee ranks as one of the worst enemies of cryptocurrency. I hope he will spend the rest of the his miserable life behind bars, without any possibility of a parole.
Mark Karpeles scammed with mtgox and John McAfee scammed by promoting scam projects but no one lost money with the claims of Craig Wright.

The Americans are trying to get him extradited for some time, but this guy managed to avoid that until now. Once he is deported back to the United States, he will be tried for the 2012 murder of Gregory Faull. A few years back, a US Federal District judge ordered McAfee to pay a compensation of $25 million, but he ignored the judgement.
If John McAfee is extradited to the US then he will be spending the rest of his life in jail and knowing that he will be trying his best to defend that from happening.
He was planning to eat his own dick and he might get the opportunity to take as many dicks as possible if he is extradited back to the US Grin. Fuck him as he was shilling hard for scams and he was adamant that he does not care if it is a scam which means he accepted his fate.

watched that story on youtube where he hired mobsters on the island and then murdered his neighbor. the reason was about his dog walking around or something. it's all in youtube the mcaffee documentary. this guy they say is a madman. he is detained in pain. if extradited, that's when we see him sentenced for his jail time. and then he could eat lots of dick inside.

his riches turned his life worse. he made a lot of business and in the documentary, it was said that he raped his partner. crazy stuff.

3200  Economy / Speculation / Re: If the FBI wallet with 141,000 bitcoins was stolen what would happen? :o on: March 08, 2021, 06:03:25 AM
It is not entirely unlikely, because we saw what the law enforcement officials (FBI Agents) did in the Silkroad case. See this article for more information : https://news.bitcoin.com/rogue-silk-road-agent-admits-to-stealing-bitcoins-seized-by-u-s-marshals/

I have seen crime documentaries where hardware wallets was seized, so I reckon these guys know how to store bitcoins on hardware wallets, so my guess is that the coins are stored on hardware wallets and not on Exchanges.

The dumping of these coins will only cause a temporary slump in the price... then it will recover within a week or two.  Wink

very unfortunate for the two rogue agents, if it happens later around 2017-18 they probably learned to send it to a mobile wallet.  should the wallet be in the list of wallet addresses that exchanges should freeze whenever coins come from them?

141,000 BTC is really going to make the robbers as whales in Bitcoin. however, everybody is going to be tracking them so it's going to be harder to hide.
