3181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Scammers put bad impact to Our Government about Bitcoin Transections. on: October 20, 2021, 09:54:42 PM

I think Digital Currency like Crypto isn't getting much popularity because of these Scammers. They are one of the most strong reason why Government's aren't showing interest on Crypto Transections.

You can't tell that because despite all these negative and abusive use of crypto (like scamming and fraudulent activities) still it gains more attention than before. A lot of rich people and businessmen are investing in it now because of its popularity and market profit. And besides, these scammers and cheaters had already been existing before crypto and never have to blame crypto for why they come.

Although this could create some doubts and uncertainty in the community, however, for the risk-takers and techy people, it was just fine as they know how to avoid them. We don't need the government to have an interest, only we need them to understand and give support.
For me, i don't think the government cares about these scamming incidents as their minds are always closed when it comes to crypto. Even if bitcoin creates a good impact through those people who really know its value, i don't think they will consider it. They are only focused with their centralized fiat and how they can take advantage on it.

However, crypto like bitcoin has even become more famous today as its adoption continues to increase and its price will keep rising as its demand is becoming huge. So even if without government's approval, the rise of bitcoin has now become more inevitable.
3182  Economy / Gambling / Re: Self excluded from Stake - but cannot make withdrawal. on: October 18, 2021, 09:27:00 PM
This is definitely an odd case. I don't understand why support stated that you cannot withdraw your funds. Personally, I know people who self-excluded themselves and had zero issues accessing their funds on popular sites like Stake.

It is possible that you contacted a customer support agent who had little knowledge about self-exclusion and any rules related to it which is why I advise trying to contact them again and again until your problem gets solved op.

You could also continue trying to contact their representatives on this forum though this is the slower route when compared to contacting customer support on their site.

I think these are the rules that would answer the concern of OP.
Quote
You are not permitted to leave any balance in your account during a self-exclusion time period. You will not be able to access your account to withdraw any funds during your requested self-exclusion.
https://stake.com/policies/self-exclusion

Therefore you should have no funds in your account once you go for the self-exclusion, so it's a bit confusing why OP cannot withdraw his balance. Maybe contacting them directly will solve the problem or posting on the ANN thread as there might be some gamblers who experience the same so we can also hear their side and the steps they make to solve their problem.
3183  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Reymart Gaballo (WBC bantamweight) on: October 18, 2021, 05:55:31 PM

Which fight will be the main event then, and if that fight will happen then there are 3 Filipinos fighting in one night and Filipino fans would choose on who to cheer, will it be Donaire or Gaballo. I'm sure Donaire has a lot of fans but I also believe that there are some Filipinos who will bet on Gaballo to upset Donaire.

I expect that Donaire vs. Gaballo will be the main event if ever at that same date and night will be a fight for Casimero, undoubted also that Donaire is more popular than Casimero so the main event and anticipated fight will be Donaire's fight. A solid powerful boxer fighting in the same ring at one night I think is anticipated since those Filipino boxers are known having a powerful punch however Gaballo seem underdog in his upcoming fight with Donaire but I bet that this boxer has a potential that can be unfold during their fight.

Gaballo is staking his undefeated record here just to fight Donaire, but it is Donaire who has a big stake as if he loses, he would lose the belt and a chance to have a big fight against Inoue in a rematch. I can't wait to see this fight, this division is filled with Filipino talents and I'm happy seeing that as whoever wins in this fight, we still have a Filipino champion.
3184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Issue of fixed Matches on: October 18, 2021, 05:28:22 PM
Are fixed matches real? Do the coach and players of teams were matches have been fixed, do they consent to it? If you were in a team were your next fixture has been fixed, what will be your reaction?
Yes, it's real. There are many methods, but the easiest one would be team-x willingly play like a shit, then lose the match (team-y win).
BUT the real problem is whether your information is correct. The scammers might say there's match fixing involved, where's actually not. Or you can get the wrong information to bet on team-x. Where the smart (insider) money bet on team-y Cheesy
There are a lot of scammers in the space who claimed that they are selling some reliable fixed information of a certain game, but first, in order to get that information, we should avail of their services by paying the subscription fee, and most of the time it's very expensive so it's pretty obvious that they just want to score a scam on us.

Actually, there are a lot of rumors that sports are rigged or fixed, but it seems that no one could have proved it yet, as if they find someone, a player or a referee who they think are trying to rig the game, they can just punish them to make the certain sports look clean but in reality, it's still happening inside.

Anyway, it's not our main concern, our only concern is if the fixed information is reliable or not.
3185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: October 18, 2021, 12:46:29 PM
It's easier for bettors to decide what team to bet on in the Finals as both teams have an equal chance to win (IMO).

No, it's more difficult to choose since they are equal. Bettors will mostly base their pick on their favorites regardless of their performance.

I'm with TNT Katropa this time. But first I need to watch their Game 1 performance before placing my bet. I will not bet just because I'm with TNT. I'm not a fan of both teams that's why I will use my gamblers' way.

You'll miss the fun if you will not bet in game 1, yes this is all about which team is your favorite to win and I think there's no need to overanalyze as this would be a close game. I like to bet on the series but there's no betting line for that, so how about one of our trusted members here set up a betting contest so everyone will have some fun.

I would love to join the betting if someone would set up a contest. maybe biskdak can do this.
I'll pass, I prefer to bet on per game and will just choose to be on the bookies.

Maybe I will change my mind, depending on the number of participants that are willing to join.

Anyway, who do you think will win the best player of the conference? as per this article, it says that Calvin Abueva is leading the race.

Abueva still leads race for PH Cup BPC plum

I think he will win as the BPC and it will increase his chance if Magnolia will win the championship.

he will likely get two awards, one for BPC and one is for Finals MVP.
3186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: October 18, 2021, 12:29:23 PM
There is news that Simmons practiced with the 76ers today, and it was the first time since he quarreled with the team. So if Ben decides to stay with the 76ers, then it will be interesting to see his first performance on the home court after returning and fans' reaction to him.

That's good news for the 76ers and for Ben Simmons as well since he didn't pay attention to what the other people say about his shooting ability since everyone has their own skills especially with his defensive skill that has been helping the 76ers to be in the playoffs this past seasons. Looks like they are all set and ready to start the season with a strong team.

So he doesn't want to be traded again? or the 76ers will not trade him anymore?

I'm just curious, appearing in the practice does not mean he is ready to play and dedicate all he got to the team, maybe it's just for formality so there will be teams that could take the offer of the 76ers in a possible trade, and if Ben Simmons perform well in the regular season, then he won't stay for long in his current team if the intention of the 76ers will really to trade him.
3187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter - Nov. 20 on: October 18, 2021, 11:57:26 AM

My predicition is this will be end via split decision in the favor of Shawn Porter.
Porter had faced many tough fights and can withstand any opponent that has a reach advantage like this fight, although Crawford has a flawless record. I reckon he won't defeat my boy Porter tho.

That's a bold prediction but if you checked Porter's record in his fights he had a hard time with tall fighters, was beaten by Spence, and hardly escaped a decision against Ugas, if you analyze both fights he cannot get in without getting hit and we all know Crawford he is very good at shifting from right stance to left stance, this will be Porter's big problem come fight night.

Wow, that's a bold prediction indeed, the OP should add a poll and maybe we can see how many favors Porter and how many are on Crawford.

For me Porter lost on the Ugas fight, yes he is agressive, but Ugas tags him with both hands the whole fight. But Porter won so I guess he is really that durable and tough. But we all know that Crawford is very good fighter, he can play orthodox and then switch stance and has a good chin as well. Also he has a weapon a left uppercut, which is Porter weaknesses in his previous fight, just watch the Thurman fight and you will see that Thurman uses it a lot when Porter is trying to go inside.

There's no chance that Porter could win if the fight will reach to the judge's scorecard. Crawford is a champion and the challenger (Porter) has to convince the judges that he deserved to win the fight and not only being aggressive is the key, he should also be hitting his shots on Crawford to make that happen, and Crawford has to look struggling in the fight.
3188  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: October 18, 2021, 08:09:52 AM
but if they are not injured then nobody will be able to stop them, not even Nets with Kyrie in it.

We are not talking here about the core players of the Lakers in their prime. Even they will play healthy all season, we can't conclude that "nobody" can able to stop them. Maybe I will agree with your statement if those players are in their prime days. I'm not seeing the Lakers as the best contender this season, honestly even the Brooklyn Nets. There's no unstoppable team right now based on my own view and we might see competition to at least 5-6 teams that deserve the Larry O' Brien championship this season.

I agree.
Any team are capable of making to the playoffs or even the Finals. Look how the Suns are so close to winning a championship last playoffs, and they aren't even expected to make it to the Finals.
I guess the era of superteams is over. Underdog teams, composed with perfect complimentary players could actually beat the superteam now.
Even the GSW is scary this season. Especially If Klay plays the same energy after the long injury.
No disrespect to the Phonenix suns but they had an easy journey going to the NBA Finals, in all the teams they played in the west, at least one of the star players was injured.

For LA Lakers, - Davis was injured.
For Denver Nuggets - Murray was injured.
For LA Clippers - Kawhi was injured.

No way they'll make it to the NBA finals this season if the good teams in the West does not have an injury problem.
3189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [BOXING] Jonas Sultan vs Carlos Caraballo - October 30, 2021 on: October 18, 2021, 07:21:05 AM

That means this fight is worth watching for, even the fighter with the best record does not underestimate his opponent, I'm sure he knows how capable Filipino fighters are in winning the fight and Sultan is the only Filipino that beat Casimero in their fight. He has one of the total 4 losses of Casimero, so his a legit competitor.

The guy is no doubt one of the strong opponents of Caraballo in his entire career where he can make his record shine when he beat this real contender in a clean way. On the other hand, Jonas Sultan has been given a rare chance to fight Caraballo and I think it's better for him to give everything here where he can change the flow of his career if somehow he can beat this guy with some kind of fast and devastating knockout even though the guy is a knockout artist himself.

He should and Sultan is more inspired now as he is already fighting in the US where his dreams are close to reality. Though Caraballo is clearly the favorite here, let's see if his winning streak will continue against a durable fighter who has not been KO before. (https://boxrec.com/en/proboxer/648292)
3190  Economy / Economics / Re: Who is Happier: Stock investors or Bitcoin investors on: October 17, 2021, 07:58:37 PM
I think the level of success for both stocks and bitcoin is highly dependent on each person's ability.  There may be countless people who succeed in bitcoin but they won't announce it just because bitcoin still has some sentimental sensitivities.  However, I am happy and feel my instincts are in line with bitcoin and crypto.  Success and failure are included in all types of investments. There is no fixed bar for success on either of these investment fronts.  As long as we have fun and feel interesting, passionate about how to make money for it.  That's part of happiness
I totally agree on this. Its not all the time that money matters. Even if we do make huge profits, but if we are not happy anymore with what we are doing, then its still useless. Being happy in an investment means that you are still passionate and satisfied doing it, even it means small but consistent profits. I guess as long as there is profits, be it stocks or crypto, it will always make us happy if we are doing it with love and motivation.

However, for some the investment which will create bigger profits makes them happier. I guess when it comes to this, we tend to be happy based on our own preference. And i'm glad i found it in crypto.
3191  Economy / Speculation / Re: Welcome to Uptoberfest on: October 17, 2021, 07:26:32 PM
snip...
Thanks for your support, bulls! On Binance, bitcoin just surpassed $60,000.

There will be a lot of people who will want to sell, but I choose to hold and go long. Take some time and it will clear your doubt or just examine the futures market of the same exchange that seems to be shy a couple dollars at this point in time. Buy if possible or hold on to your position.
I do not believe that it was that simple for us to reach 60k. It took a lot of time and a lot of money to reach this level. However, I believe that retail investors did not manage to get this level, it is obvious that we got a lot of help from the companies. The difference that companies made in this world is that they end up putting up millions of dollars, even over a billion dollars sometimes then we end up with something that is super high and skyrocketing because we have too many money going in right away.

So, I would say that corporations are the reason we are more bullish these days and not people like me because even when we all get together we can't be making what they are doing to crypto right now since we are not doing it all together, whereas we are talking about these corporations putting that much money all at once and that is the difference.
So it means that whales had to take this blame again and again. Well, that seems to be happening and those who bought Bitcoin at a discounted price will likely have their thanks to these people(whales) as the price won't just spike so fast without them. It's really hard to expect but this October really has an explosive pump that people aren't expecting. Might this be the beginning for another ATH this year? I think we should have to hold more this and wait until these whales/companies will stop buying.

But, We should have to be careful on the trap, invest only the money that we can afford to lose. That is the real deal.
Of course, whatever the condition of the market, even if its seems too bullish, but we should always be cautious because most of the time, a market trap happens when we least expect it. So always invest on the amount that is manageable to lose.

However, if the whales are behind this bullish market at the present, i guess its not bad having them in the market because we can also benefit from them. But remember, if they can make the whole crypto market bullish from all of a sudden, i think they are also very capable of having it reversed. In the end, what they did is just for their own selfish desires.
3192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Timing is important on: October 17, 2021, 06:49:20 PM
Yeah, you're right, timing is very very important factor in cryptospace.
but it's hard to do when we can buy or sell, it's hard to decide.
but the only thing we can do is to keep checking the marketcap, so that we know which coins are worth to buy or sell at the moment.
I think in all aspects, timing is important. Not just in crypto investing or trading, but even in all aspects of life, if you aim for success, you should have the right timing and mindset.  But sometimes, its easy to say but hard to do. With all your bases in investing and trading, sometimes we tend to forget the right timing because we know in ourselves that we are good enough and that whatever or whenever we do it, it will always be profitable. We only realized its not all about greed or over confidence, when all we do just never end up productive and profitable.
3193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Putin believes Bitcoin has value on: October 17, 2021, 06:20:19 PM
I think the reason why he tried to relate bitcoin into the oil trade is because as of the moment oil and gold are the means of determining whether a country is developed or not, the more oil and gold reserves they have, the more economically powerful a country is. He believes that bitcoin could be used as a substitute for currency but until the time it could be on par with oil in terms of value and use-case he is most likely to sideline it. Bitcoin, albeit a greener option, still falls short on the use-case sector since oil powers everything as of the moment, but as we trend towards a nature-friendly future, not only Russia but many nations which are initially against the use of crypto may change minds and opinions.
Russia is adopting a different attitude towards cryptos than China. President Putin has come public saying "Bitcoin has value but it cannot be used in the Oil trade"

I guess Putin didn't still fully grasp the real potential of cryptos as he says
Quote
“Cryptocurrency is not supported by anything as of yet. It may exist as a means of payment, but I think it’s too early to say about the oil trade in cryptocurrency.”
But even so, it shows that Russia seems to be adopting a friendly position facing cryptocurrency and it may be having some impact on the industry. Given that China adopted a harsh position towards cryptos, is it possible that miners are relocating from China to Russia? Is it possible for Russia to step up to occupy the former place China had in Bitcoin? I guess this is what is happening, otherwise, Putin wouldn't come public with such a neutral position.

The Russian president only said that Bitcoin has value but he also said that Bitcoin cannot be used for oil trading, from the words of the Russian President I think that there is no hope for Bitcoin to be made as legal tender in the country.
From this news we can conclude that the President of Russia does not prohibit bitcoin in his country but the President of Russia also does not accept Bitcoin as a legal tender.
Hopefully in the future the Russian President can accept bitcoin as a legal means of payment so that the poor can be helped by bitcoin and on the other hand so that the price of bitcoin becomes more expensive.
There is still hope I think, we tend to forget the fact that more and more people are revolutionizing towards a future that is not run by non-renewable resources like oil and coal. Thus, once achieved I think we will have good chances that bitcoin could find some space in the Russian economy and be used for their everyday living. We have to consider that the opinion Putin presented is only for the moment and may change for the better, or for worse in the future, once all things are said and done.
But knowing how positive Putin about crypto at the present, it will be more likely to gain positive results in the future. Although no one holds the future, but we know in time crypto will be more usable in the years to come and by that time, maybe Putin will already accept crypto not just as a currency, but also for oil trading. And in terms of Russia replacing China, i have high hopes that it will really bound to happen soon as China becomes more unproductive to crypto. Russia will definitely be a good relocation for crypto miners as the President itself is not against with it. So definitely, its an edge.
3194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: October 17, 2021, 01:55:13 PM
Lebron has been with great players and winning championship, with Miami, (Dwade and Bosh), and then with Cavs (Kyrie) and two seasons ago with the Lakers (Davis).

But one things for sure, with all those great players, Lebron is the King. He might give Westbrook time to shine, but when it is about who are going to make the last shot, Lebron will have the luxury of that. Winning shot for his team, not AD, not Russ and not Melo.

I don't anymore see that Lebron had a successful last shot, in the season where the Lakers won a championship, it was Davis who made the last shot and a game-winner (I know you guys still remember that). Lebron is great, no question about that, but he is not a clutch player like Kobe and Jordan, sorry to say but it's the reality.

He always has that luxury as he's the main man, but knowing LeBron he's more on passing the ball than taking the shot.

Compared to Kobe and MJ, who will do everything to make the last shot and very brave to take full responsibilities in case they'll missed it,

With the Lakers current roster, LeBron might conserve his energy and let those new stars to play without any interference, as long as
all of them have the same goal, and that's to win the title. They still have this full regular season to deal with and prove that age is not a problem if players / team are determined to win.

He is not anymore the type of player who is chasing to have impressive stats, with his ball handling ability, he can just play as a PG and direct the play on the floor. Westbrook and Davis will just have to wait since the kick-out pass is possible if Lebron will drive the ball inside. Since Lebron is only now chasing the hall of fame record, he will not be so aggressive to prevent injury and he would be able to play more seasons.
3195  Economy / Speculation / Re: 60k price recovery achieved on: October 17, 2021, 01:31:59 PM
I'm sure though we are not going to sell until we have $100k or more.
I don't know if I can still wait for that, or for some investors would wait for that price, you know, whales take advantage of easy profit and they could just sell to make the price dump again and they'll start accumulating again. We've seen a lot of correction already this year, so I believe that correction would come again once a new ATH will be achieved this year.
3196  Economy / Economics / Re: Permanent inflation or "just temporary" on: October 16, 2021, 11:37:19 PM
A few leaders of OCDE countries are speaking wishfully about inflation, stating that this is just "a temporary peak". However this may or may not be the case. Even the people with best information (CEOs of large companies and perhaps some ministers) are unclear about how long do we have to endure inflation.

My translation for this is "we do not know if we can effectively pass the burden of all the money we printed onto the labour or the salaries will rise paving way for sustained high inflation in two years".

The central banks tell you it's temporay. But your favorite  "analyst" that got everyrhing wrong since the year 2000 tells you it's not. Gosh who to believe  Roll Eyes
I would rather say that this inflation will gonna stay permanently. Although its not all the time that there will be rising inflation, but believe me inflation will never be gone as long as there is fiat that brings about inflation. And since the prices of basic commodities will continue to increase, then it will be those people who are facing poverty are mostly affected. Especially in this time of pandemic, the government should always be ready to assist those individuals who are mostly affected with this fast rising inflation, not as a form of cash, but maybe in giving livelihood projects that will help them to sustain their living.
3197  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Cryptocurrency be a Global Currency in the Future? on: October 16, 2021, 11:14:11 PM
We are in a phase where we can call Bitcoin as a global currency. Cryptocurrency is a broader term and as long as there are users willing to trade the coin they will survive. If you are looking for countries legally accepting cryptocurrency as a legal tender then that is the only issue you will come across as majority of the countries will not let go of their control of their economy.
Bitcoin being a global currency in the future, no one can really tell. For now, i don't see possibilities that it will happen because majority of the country's government are still holding into their fiat and there's no way making it obsolete just because bitcoin's gonna take it place. Bitcoin may be more famous today because of its blockchain technology, but never will the government going to accept bitcoin as it only brings transparency, that any government won't definitely allow the public to know each transaction they make.
3198  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Traders Don't easily lend out money. on: October 16, 2021, 09:58:17 PM
This is a plane truth about traders in general. Traders always maintain their capital and also always trying to increase the capital, they have the belive that the higher your capital, the more profit you earn, so lending out money will reduce their target and might make them loose alot of profits they expect from the market, that's why they don't lend out money easily.
I understand how traders value the importance of money because they are earning it in a hard way through trading. And trading is really a hard way to generate profits especially if you don't have the skills, otherwise you will only keep on losing huge amount.

However, its always a case to case basis when it comes to money lending. It depends on the reason of the borrower itself. If it needs immediate money for emergency cases, then i know you cannot refuse a borrower knowing there is an emergency matters to attend to.
3199  Economy / Speculation / Re: 60k price recovery achieved on: October 16, 2021, 09:34:42 PM
2021 will be remembered for a long in the history of Bitcoin market recognition and price benchmark, in April we witnessed a spectacular bull season that pushed Bitcoin price to $64,823 before it drop down, and now the market is gradually recovering back to that all-time high again and I think bitcoin price is going to reach 70,000 before the end of October.
2021 is indeed a great year if you look at a bigger picture, yes we have the chance to reach that $70k mark but of course expect another pullback before it happen. Bitcoin is a good investment if you are able to buy at a dipper price, you are now enjoying a huge profit. I do bought and trust Bitcoin during the dip, and now I have no regrets at all doing that. New ATH this last quarter is really possible to reach, keep watching.
Bitcoin has been bullish since the year started and its most likely to end up the year being bullish too. My prediction is not only $70k, but it may reach into $80k because there are still 2 months more to go before this year ends and to think that we have reached already $60k this time. So its definitely a huge success and a huge profits for all those holders who have bought it in a very low price. But for those who kept hesitant to buy and hold bitcoin, then they will surely miss another bull run again that may have change their lives if they took the risk.
3200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [ BOXING POLL ADDED ]: Fury vs Wilder III - THE TRILOGY IS BACK ON !!! on: October 16, 2021, 08:15:26 PM
I think that Wilders boxing carrier is finished but there will always be a place in some circus for him and his wild excuses theories, like cheating with gloves or with his ex team members.
Fury didn't win because he was leaning on him but because he knocked him out and he dived with his nose on ground.

And what about "Wilder's wild theories" about Fury being a dope cheater? Why didn't you mention this? Maybe because Fury has a big doping background and this topic is very unpleasant for him?
I don't blame Fury for doping in recent fights, but when I see how he can take crushing blows, such suspicions creep in.
Well the famous Sagan standard which states that “extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence” should apply here, we know that cheating happens in any sport, and it can happen at the highest spheres of it, just take a look at what happened with Lance Armstrong, so if Wilder has any evidence that is the case then he should show it and let the boxing associations deal with this, and if not then there is no point arguing the point.
Wilder is a sore loser, he would always make an excuse for his losses, accusing of Fury cheating when there's no evidence about it. Wilder is done in this fight saga with Fury but he can continue with his career, go back to the gym, make himself condition again, and try knocking down opponents if he is given an opportunity to fight again.
