Correct I am reserved on this movement, we will have to pass the usual resistance
points, $45k, $50k etc. until then its too early, there was also talk of a "dead Cat bounce"
scenario.

I can understand the excitement though, after a month of sub $40k sideways movement
any sort of rise is welcome and stirs up a bit of excitement.
If you keep on waiting for that to happen, do you realize how much money you are missing out? I mean if you could buy right now, and it reaches 50k, you are already in %20 or so in profit, and if you buy there, it reaches 60k, then you are in profit but you are missing out that extra amount.

It is your decision of course and I could not tell you what to do, if you want to make a profit that way then you could make a profit that way and nobody could tell you what to do. However if you really want to make sure that you are doing the right thing, then I would have to suggest you to make sure you are ready for such an increase, we are not just a few dollars away from those prices.

Already bought the dip and worshiped at the church of DCA for the last 3 weeks!

I'm reserved in terms of getting excited too early.
3182  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in Rocket 🚀 mood. on: February 07, 2022, 12:39:04 PM
Not rocket yet, I will say rocket once it move above $50K. The main reason I am assuming investors moving to Bitcoin and leaving some other stock investment. I have seen a couple of companies whose stock price has been dumped hard like Meta. So most probably that investors decide to invest in Bitcoin since the price of Bitcoin was lower. That's what I believe, however no matter the reason for the pump, we need it.

Yes, that is the next big psychological barrier that we have to break again, $50k.

So I wouldn't say that we are in a rocket or going to the moon, it's too early, we've lost so much ground last December that we have to cover for that. At least going to $48k might be the logical target and then $50k. So we will see if this spike will continue, it might slow down a bit though this weekend. But at the start of the second week of this month will be the exciting part for us so let's see how it will pan out.

Correct I am reserved on this movement, we will have to pass the usual resistance
points, $45k, $50k etc. until then its too early, there was also talk of a "dead Cat bounce"
scenario.

I can understand the excitement though, after a month of sub $40k sideways movement

ABN AMRO in Rotterdam starts today with some interesting matches

McDonald 1.53 - 2.46 Basilashvili

Goffin 3.20 - 1.34 de Minaur

Hurkacz 1.19 - 4.50 Tsonga

Norrie 1.74 - 2.06 Humbert

I am going with de Minaur and Hurkacz but I recon they all have the potential to
be close matches.

Some big names not competing this year, Medvedev said he is not ready to
play after AO, Sinner has COVID, also not playing are Cilic, Bautista Agut and Molfils.
It does mean that Murray gets a wildcard and is up against Bublik who beat
Zverev in Open Sud de France yesterday i didnt know that was even on!

Game 3 of the weekend was a predictable win for France against the visiting
Italian side.

It took almost 30 minutes for France to get going after Italy took the lead
with a try to bring the score to 3-7. The game overall was riddled with errors
on a windy and very wet evening. Again a frustrating watch for anyone
wanting Italy to show some progress but they kicked the ball too much resulting
in almost all occasions a French visit into the 22 and a score.

The table after the weekend:

Another great video [even though it gave me a mini heart attack for clicking the link prior to reading the other parts in your post].
- Am I correct in assuming that by using "[UNREALEASED]" in its title, it was meant to be an unlisted youtube video [if that's the case, then it's still appearing in BitcoinTalkShow's channel]?

Yeah, I actually only saw a YouTube notification for the new video, and all I saw was the title. I really thought something terrible had happened to our beloved forum. But as it turns out, it was just a walk along the history lane of all bitcointalk hacks. Thank goodness!

Good episode, I really enjoyed it.

Ditto!

I had that mini heart attack too for the briefest of moments when I
got the Tweet.

Very interesting episode, not too long, I didnt realise the forum was hacked
so many times  Huh suppose thats the idea of the channel.
3186  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [Gauging Interest] Teak Slab - Bitcoin / Litecoin on: February 06, 2022, 12:24:22 PM
I have the Teak slab marked up ready for carving, I made a few very subtle changes
in order to hopefully make it a tad less stressful to carve. I have just a few pieces of
apparatus to get before I start, like lighting and magnification to aid the accuracy.

Definitely both would have remained a challenge to the top 3 and would have
won more grand slams and deprived Federer, Nadal and Djokovic some of the
20, 21 and 20 slams they have now. It would be a different scene now.

Dominic Thiem coming back this year can offer a threat to Nadal, Medvedev,
Djokovic, Zverev and Tsitsipas. Dominic is a quality player and still has a lot to offer.

Absolutely, its all good to see players coming back into competition, Andy Murray
is a current example of being out for an extended period, having major surgery and
still able to compete at a reasonable level. Juan Martin del Potro was indeed a great player
but I dont think he will be as potent as before, time and surgery take their toll.

I saw this headline from Eurosport from a few hours ago

"Perhaps it is more a farewell than a return"
3189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Quantum Computers and their potential effect on Bitcoin collectibles. on: February 06, 2022, 08:28:11 AM
If this is the case...why would a hardware wallets pub and priv key be safe? Wouldnt they also be cracked? So where would a person store his btc then?

Cracking the hash algorithm would mean that no form of key generation would at that point be safe. The owner of the quantum computer could brute force his way into your 24 seed words and back end steal the coins in your wallet. This would mean that even hardware wallets would not be safe at this theoretical point in time.

Wouldn't a bip 39 password make it exponentially harder though?

Yes a BIP39 password would make it harder to crack but how much harder?

I feel your pain, all those with loaded coins, notes etc.

There is a great thread over on the Development and Technical Discussion board
concerning QC > https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5381812.0

As o_e_l_e_o quoted Satoshi in that thread, we would just move to a quantum
resistant algorithm but that wont solve the "to peel or not to peel" issue.

Everyone here with the exception of the very early adopters have been
late to the party in relation to any moment in the past. I got in in 2017 but knew about
Bitcoin a number of years earlier.

I have told a few people about it this year and they still havent made the move,
I guess they might in a few years look back and say "we missed the party"

Main thing is the OP is here now.

Full time in Game 1 of the Six Nations

Fairly impressive Irish win today from an early try and conversion inside the
first 5 minutes of the game. Style of play is quite impressive since head
coach Andy Farrell has taken over, fast, clinical and a break from the heavily
structured style of play in past years.

Wales couldnt seem to get to grips with the fast flowing game from Ireland. Missing
key players and others playing in different positions than normal didnt help their cause.

Bit of trivia for @Timelord2067, Man of the match Mack Hansen the Connacht player
notched up his first game for Ireland today. He's an Aussie! His mum's Irish.

Game 2 up next, Scotland v England.

England are favourites but there is talk of Scotland really capable of great wins
this year, but we have seen this before and the team hasnt performed.

ML on NitrogenSports is Scotland 2.97 - 1.37 England

I'm going with a win for Scotland, small bet though, I dont normally bet against
the favourite but I going with the positive rumblings from Scotland

They had a good Autumn series of games and their 2 clubs going ok in the
URC, currently in positions 2 and 3.

:::EDIT:::

and Scotland take the win

Great match to watch and could have been a draw match a few times in the
last 8 minutes of play.

A lot of errors on both sides and some poor decision making by England at times
corresponding to some great decision making by Scotland.
Finn Russell had a great game at 10 for Scotland while Luke Cowan-Dickie
made a silly play to get himself yellow carded and Scotland awarded a
penalty try, that changed the game on the 66th minute.

3194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CRYPTO COFFEE & CRYPTO MENU on: February 05, 2022, 11:51:46 AM
Well, we have BTS themed cafes and Spongebob themed drinks so why not crypto themed menus. I don't really ever feel these help with adoption but they can't be bad I guess.

Come on, forum, get some Aussie to go there for an episode of Bitcointalk Youtube and see if the sentiment is worth the fuss.

And to all those saying they can't wait to buy coffee with Bitcoin... Well, I wonder what's stopping you before?

Yea! I think this is great actually, the owners are obviously into crypto. Why not
have a crypto themed business? the least it will do is raise more awareness.
It would be nice to see some footage from inside on youtube.

I'm guessing all the staff there would need to know their crypto too, if a
customer asks whats a DOGE BLT? they will have to explain it.

3195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CRYPTO COFFEE & CRYPTO MENU on: February 05, 2022, 10:22:06 AM
Contrarian opinion to the responses but while I like the acceptance of cryptocurrency payments, lol the food naming based on cryptocurrencies is actually so unnecessarily cheesy that it's so bad.

Obviously the pun was unintended mk4, Cheesy!
3196  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Interesting coin (Chad legal tender) on: February 05, 2022, 12:44:18 AM
From the video it looks like it is housed in a hefty plastic holder, to me that
suggests its quite thin and needs that holder for a bit of stability.

its a very intriguing piece, i've looked at it a few times and trying to find more info,
its hardly hollow in the middle? like made up of two
seperate sides joined??
3197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union | League // Super |Sixes|Sevens | Pro14 | Cups & Tours | Olympics. on: February 04, 2022, 07:32:19 AM
Yes the player career window is very short, of course there are players who are able
to prolong that if they can stay healthy, competitive and fit.

Regarding COVID, currently there are very few restrictions in Ireland so The Aviva
Stadium in Dublin will be ROCKIN' with a full house for this match, I expect the same
in England, Wales and Scotland but games in France and Italy will most likely have
restrictions.
3198  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union | League // Super |Sixes|Sevens | Pro14 | Cups & Tours | Olympics. on: February 04, 2022, 06:53:29 AM
SIX NATIONS competition starts this weekend with the first round of 3 games.

Within the competition there are two other pieces of silverware awarded,
The Calcutta Cup, a competition between Scotland and England and The
Triple Crown awarded to the unbeaten team between England, Ireland,
Scotland and Wales.

First match up between Ireland and Wales which is always a tough match up.
The Welsh club/provincial teams only achieve a certain standard on a yearly
basis but when they get together to play for the national team they transform
into a very potent unit and are the defending champions.

The welsh team have suffered a number or key player injuries, Leigh Halfpenny,
George North, Josh Navidi, Ken Owens, Justin Tipiric and Taulupe Faletau. Thats a
massive blow to the team and so Ireland are favourites to win this game.

Ireland 1.14 - 5.25 Wales on NitrogenSports.eu

Ireland this year are looking to build on a powerful performance from the
Autumn Series of games beating Japan, New Zealand and Argentina. Ireland have
no injury worries and so will have a full strength team.

3199  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin gives me a positive financial impact on: February 03, 2022, 09:16:42 PM
What gave you a positive financial impact was not the Bitcoin, it was playing roulette with the Bitcoin and having it work out well for you. That could have happened with Bitcoin or many other things.

I prefer not to play too much with the best element we have to store and transfer value, and instead I prefer to continue accumulating little by little (although from time to time I spend small amounts, but I always keep increasing the total of my Bitcoin holdings).

The OP indeed was lucky, to be a newcomer to crypto and start trading doesnt
always result in positive experiences.

The deflationary aspect of Bitcoin coupled with increasing demand alone and
the act of accumulation and HODLing results in a positive financial impact.

Along with HODLing transacting with Bitcoin is important but Trading is a risk
for many who dont have the skills needed.

Yes we have seen this never give up attitude from Nadal this year already,
down 2 sets and still he takes the title, We saw it last year with Djokovic at
RG, down 2 sets to Tsitsipas and snatches the win from him. That is serious
talent, Skill and mental fortitude.

I agree that a lot of the promising younger players need to perfect that combination.

The triad of the mens game have those qualities in abundance
and as they have won through the years they have been able to fine tune them
to build on what they have.
