Phil - what are your temps on the 1070 TI Hybrid 8 card board?

I'm running 3 on a ASUS right now just to test and I'm liking these. Just have to figure out how to stash these big 'ol heatsinks lol.

Able to add Alexis78 to ccminer on this at all? Thanks
323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Windows mining monitoring tool - v2-BETA [OPEN BETA] on: December 11, 2017, 06:38:26 AM
I'm on it, but it's complicated, because not all miner have log, some got API with REST access, some JSON-RPC.
It's hard to design a generic plugin.

But it's still on my list Smiley

You are the man!

Is there any way to have monitorig still report just the GPU temps if it does not see the miner working?

Right now your app stops updating if it does not see a miner running even if a miner that it can not detect is running.

Thanks for your support and hard work!.

Is this a good M.2 riser?

@manicdan What do you mean with power cards?

This is the one I'm talking about:
https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/-f4AAOSwTapV4-qz/s-l1600.jpg

As you can see it has a small 4 pin power connector. You don't have to use it as the riser itself is powered.

The one your looking at is probably a good choice.

I guess I can get this "adapter/riser thing" on e-bay right?

It's much better to get this adapter.  you can run upto 4 devices from this one.  I am using one with 4 cards plugged in.  no additional power required by the adapter either.  Just ensure you get the VER 002.

https://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/PCI-E-to-PCI-E-Adapter-1-Turn-4-PCI-Express-Slot-1x-to-16x-USB/605305_32833259844.html?spm=2114.12010611.0.0.649f3bbb809U1s

I had an incident of that m.2 pcie adapter burnt out.  Luckily didn't damage any components on the board.  The pins below can get bent and short out.

This works 100%??

I am using 2 cards.  All 4 ports work for me on 2 separate Z270 motherboards
Imo it's definitely worth trying out yourself for 14 bucks odd.

So you can potentially run 9 GPU's with this adapter plus the other 5 slots?

Is anyone running these right now can say how they're working?

Thanks heavyarms

Yes, the actual rule is when load is less than 30%
but I can add a rule on the GPU temp too.

I'll note that

Thanks -

Also curious if you know when you'll be rolling out the miner plugin integration so we can add our own

Monitorig stops updating if the .bat file is a different miner i.e. ccminer - is there a way for it to at least keep reporting the GPU Temp even if it can't tell that ccminer is running?

Thanks for your hard work -

Is it possible to get the individual cells to highlight red instead of the normal green when the fans go above 70c?

Everything is working very well so far nothing to complain about!
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cheapest Rig Frame Built under $25 and 20 min. on: December 10, 2017, 04:45:51 AM
Nope, both the Onda D8P and the Colorful boards are rock solid.  Only change I made in the BIOS was to change to PEG for the video.  Haven't bothered updating either BIOS either since they just work, but I probably will at some point.  Running nvOS on them.

Very crafty, I love the laminate board crazydane!

Since everyone is sharing here's the "MINING RACK" that I use:

https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/store/product/seville-classics-3-tier-mesh-utility-shoe-rack-in-satin-bronze/1061424241?skuId=61424241&mcid=PS_googlepla_nonbrand_storage_online&product_id=61424241&adtype=pla&product_channel=online&adpos=1o2&creative=224122691883&device=c&matchtype=&network=g&mrkgadid=558368192&mrkgcl=609&rkg_id=h-1d75a1d10d20d7731b4ba876e293aa4c_t-1512881020&gclid=Cj0KCQiAsK7RBRDzARIsAM2pTZ8bA3vhyAG9j62jd5YQSSlw9NMEpGHHHOlK6WQLkg-bVV3PzQXewowaAmLAEALw_wcB

Yes, it's all metal but I've been running these almost a year, not one issue, no shorts no problems. Underneath my mobo I cut to spec from a foam tile, they're cheap AF and I had a ton of them in the garage already. Something like 5 or 10 tiles are like $10 at costco, 1 tile can do 5 mobo's so yeah, it's not expensive.

Bitcoins at 1280. crazy how you can just lose hundreds of thousands in just 24 hours.

Not like I was going to cash anything in anyways. Still just a crazy thing to see. I'm holding for the long haul, don't care if it drops back to 7k
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: December 10, 2017, 02:22:08 AM

I'm so discouraged....and looking for an alternate solution. I was even considering going back to using risers on  a known board. Then, I found the Onda B250 BTC-D8P is available in the US :

https://www.waikey.com/item/onda-b250-btc-d8p-8-pci-e-slots-motherboard-8-gpu-mining/

Not sure if I should trust this site.

That is an interesting looking board ...
wow thats super cheap

new DNS name;  shop that pops up out of nowhere undercutting even alibaba prices.... yeah... nothing to worry about here  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

lol i was thinking the same thing, domestic USA seller that beat out the price alibaba quoted me for 10 units ... riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight. super legit.
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My residential Solar + Mining farm on: December 10, 2017, 12:19:09 AM
Anyone thinking about going solely strictly for mining, just stop it already lol.

I do have a 10kw panel on my house, we got it before I started mining, it is currently producing 20kw/day in the summer it was doing doing about 40kw/day.

Basically it barely offsets 1 rig lol. So if you're thinking you're going to plop down 40k to offset the power cost of 1 or 2 mining rigs.... you're a bad dude lol
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Cheapest Rig Frame Built under $25 and 20 min. on: December 09, 2017, 11:45:35 PM
A little self righteous about your views on how many PSU's are the "in thing" aren't we?

I still have rigs with 2 PSU's it doesn't bother me, I have a bunch of rigs with 1600w EVGA T2's as well.

Both of them work PERFECTLY FINE so it doesn't matter WTF you use, just get it built.

2 850's is a lot cheaper, $300 give or take vs $500 for my 1600's. Either one works. More than just one way to do things, just because it's the way YOU do something, doesn't mean everyone else has to adopt it.

I agree with you, i prefer to build my rig 2x PSU's, it doesn't take much more space, make's it alot easier to deal with dual-8pin cards because you have alot more connectors, and is cheaper to go (2x800w cheaper than one 1600w and not counting all the adaptaters you'll have to buy (6pin to 8 converters, Y cables, and so on adding failures points), and i have more confidence in the stability of the power over long run. It even make more sense to me for 8-10 card rigs. Getting server psu's here is really annoying, and it's mostly sold out all the times so....

Keep up the good work OP, go and refine your designs !

an atx psu is more of a failure point there bud if you wanna talk that route, server psu is also made for harsh enviroments, atx psu is not. last I checked using 1 outlet vs 2 is better. btw if you know what your doing with the server psu its not a pain in the butt, its actually quite easy. also dunno where you are looking for those server psu's cause I don't have issues finding them and guess what for much cheaper than an atx of the same wattage, I can pick up a 1500w server psu for about 125 bucks, can you pick up an atx psu for that much, hell no. also 2 psus creates a big failure point if one psu dies depending on which one, gpus or other hardware could be damaged, id much rather have the WHOLE rig shut off, the price you paid for 2x 800w platinum psus, id done picked up 1500w for cheaper than BOTH of of those together, 800w platinum atx psu still going to run you around 80 to 100 bucks. the idea here last I checked is efficiency no? to spend the least amount of money possible while getting the most profit? sound familiar? btw breakout board for hp 1500w server psu is about 15 dollars and then youd need a pico psu which is another 13 dollars, still well below what you would spend on 2x 800w platinum psu's that are fully modular

Yoiu're not running server PSU inside a residential home, one you're trying to live in anyways.

If you buy janky atx psu's yeah, sure i see an issue. I'm willing to bet the farm I'll never have an issue with my EVGA's, and even if I do, I have about a dozen 850's just sitting on the shelf on standby. A good Jew always has at least 2 of everything Smiley

Im mostly lookinng for most profitable cuz with those money that i currently get i would like to making an "reinwest" for buying more harware.

If you're looking for the most profit, investing in BTC would NET you far better gains that a mining rig. I only use rigs as a hedge.
Yea maybe but i wont have fun then :p

You'll have plenty of fun spending that $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Well already got bot for Bitbay (its market) and it makes me over 700Euro a day Soo :d

sounds like a good bot. what's it doing?

Good job I just have 2 things on your normal build - since you're doing the building, why put it so high so you have to use zips? Cut it the right length so you can screw the GPU's in .

Also you have room on the sides, move those supports to go over the PSU's, so it gives you a bit more room to spread the GPU's out - the frame is already that width, might as well use it.
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sixth alt coin thread I forgot to mod last thread. on: December 09, 2017, 07:00:01 AM
I postponed my board purchase for the time being, a little to touchy for me to jump in and snatch 10 of them, I think I'll just unbox all the brand new spares I have and use them instead for the time being, I'm hoping the rev 2's will be a little less finicky. I don't mind risers for now.

Thanks for all the awesome info fam!

.....

1080 TI RIG FULL PARTS LIST
https://goo.gl/Jyw38u Parallel Miner Rev2 Frame (Shown)
.....

Nice video as usually Smiley. But frame! for 400 bucks is too expensive. 110$ PSU + 6 risers of 5$ and 3 fans for even 10$. So just alluminium frame for more than 200$ ! The cost of materials is about 20-30$ maximum and the work to made it no more than 50$
Frames $100+ is pure price gouge.
hey if you make a similar quality frame for less I'll buy it

Ive said exactly the same thing. Its a great frame but not worth that much. Especially when shipping is $90 to the UK. All I need is the lengths of each aluminium section and I can get rhe materials and build it.

Lol forget a mining specific frame, I just get a small 2 tier shelf that's stackable for $25. Everything gets secured just as well as a "mining specific" frame. Literally takes less time to put together too lol.
340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: EZ 6x 1080 TI GPU Mining Rig Build 4400 Sols / 1 PSU on: December 08, 2017, 11:56:00 PM
The Gigabyte "Windforce" 3-fan model works OK - I've got one - but it doesn't cool much better than my EVGA SC 2 fan model, and the fans are the standard junk Windforce fancy-name sleeve bearing type that die too fast - and a 1080ti NEEDS that cooling if you're running it at more than 60-70% of TDP.

Up side - like the EVGA SC - it's a 8 + 6 model not a 3 x 8 model like the Aorus or the Duke or the EVGA FTW (among others).

Couldn't agree more! And the cooling on my SC2's shit on MSI Armors, 3 fan gigabytes etc. I Freaking LOVE my SC2's.
I have to do mixed rigs because of those 8+8 giants with my 1600w EVGA because of it. 2 8+8 cards with 4 8+6 cards. Hate those things.
