This is what money can bring so what more in Gambling where the temptation is truly huge and mistakes are often to happen , though there are cases that the money is also being spend in Trading where the person involved think he can easily make some percentage but ending being a loser.
322  Economy / Gambling / Re: TonPoker - Telegram Poker Room on: May 15, 2024, 12:15:02 PM
Really want to join that free poker tournament exclusively for the Bitcointalk community, but I can't join because I can't access the registration link. Is it true that 17 registered and only 5 managed to continue in the tournament? Does this mean those 5 who managed to play are guaranteed a prize? How is the $100 prize pool distributed?
was also interested to know about the distribution though there is number 1 winner claim meaning there will be number 2 and so on?
and also wondering why there are only 17 users who registered with how many accounts we have here in bitcointalk.

Anyway, congrats to the winner who managed to withdraw their winnings with the strange TRX transaction fee. lol As far as I know, TRX transaction fees shouldn't be as high as 3$, as others have stated here.
congrats as well, hope to participate in the next round .
323  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why do people lose in gambling and still go ahead and bet more? on: May 14, 2024, 12:30:13 PM
because that is the concept of gambling to make people have hopes and believe they can recover from their losses and for me that must not be the proper understanding of the people.
gambling is where most people are being mislead of this knowledge .
324  Economy / Gambling / Re: More revelations on the challenges of physical casinos on: May 14, 2024, 12:19:43 PM
That can happen to anyone.

It's not actually a challenge but it is something that happens for you to anticipate if you have experienced that before. Betting shops/agents or local casinos, anything can happen based on their rules.

They can give oddly reasons for one to deny the winnings of a bettor or at least delay it for them to test that gambler and see how long his patience is.
We are just gamble and the authority will always have the last word/action and in which stands for the gambling site/operator or whom we are addressing .
we are thankful to never experience any troubles from our gambling activities though I manage to taste delayed payment because of some errors but never that I was alarmed because that site is reputable and have proven their name in this field for long time now.

Even though they give the money for long time or let say that the delayed time is still a good one cause they find a way solve the issues. And I think the casino will won't give a chance that thier reputation will break in a small amount of money so they need to find a  way to give it to the gamblers. And also once a casino is trusted enough and have a good reputation then they won't do an actions that can lead to Their casino into a negative one so all they need is to have a good services in order to  maintain the good reputation.
well that is the problem when a casino is just starting and have already delayed cases then what more in the bigger prizes ? i think this type will cater them issues and may lure out gamblers because reputation must be develop from the start and I we have seen this type and those gamblers did not progress in long time.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could I’ve hit a jackpot? on: May 14, 2024, 12:04:18 PM
So, if anyone is holding the coin then keep it holding till the next bull run.

That’s quite a long time. If you are only looking for a quick pump and a short investment then this might not be the one for you. Although of course we are not really sure that this goes as planned.

But assuming it does, you’d have to be very patient and disciplined so you do not sell at a wrong time. That would be hard considering the amount of FUD that will come your way. If you are really determined to hold that long then I suggest to just close off of the world and do not listen to their opinions.
326  Economy / Gambling / Re: Building a unique Casino game from scratch. What features do you want? on: May 14, 2024, 11:55:21 AM
I guess this thread can be closed, because OP has not responded to any of the suggestions and he has also not posted any updates to the progress of this project.

It would have been fun to see a new spin on the boring old Plinko, but I guess this is not going to happen anymore.

yeah maybe he gave up about the plans or maybe their plans did not come to what they are expected and with that in mind generating capital is the biggest problem as they need to lure investors before beginning this project.
and also this is interesting site if they started because they will start from scratch and for sure will listen to everything that the community will say.
327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should there be a way to register your wallet with the government? on: May 14, 2024, 11:40:24 AM
Why would anyone wanna register his/her BTC wallet with the government? If this is going to be optional, I highly doubt that anyone would agree to do such thing.
You think too highly of people. Many are just empty shells who follow blindly any authority they find. If the government says to do this the  they will do it. Most people who have nothing much to lose are like this. They rarely criticize the government and just accept anything that is given to them.
Quote
Having trust in your government is the dumbest thing. I personally don't trust my government and I want to keep my assets as far away from my government as possible.
Like I said many people who are not discriminated or oppressed by the government have so much trust and confidence to their government not until of course they experience just how corrupt the government is themselves.
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to buy privacy coins? on: May 14, 2024, 11:37:17 AM
2. Im feeling if p2p market is also a bit complicated these days caused by it's not a lot of people are using privacy coins actively..

You’d be lucky to be able to find someone willing to sell their privacy coins, yes.

It’s getting quite complicated buying and using privacy coins because the government is constantly tampering down on it. They definitely do not want any of their citizens having access to privacy coins. I have seen many articles luring you in with a promise of teaching you how to buy privacy coins but then will point you to exchanges with KYC.

Does that make any sense? why would i buy a privacy coin in an exchange with KYC. These people are also scared and wary of the government it seems like.
329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Attempting to turn 0.05 BTC into 1.7 BTC on: May 14, 2024, 02:19:56 AM
Well this is the end for me. No luck. Sad

I appreciate everyone who contributed to my post. I may come back another time when I save up the money I lost.

Like what @LFC_Bitcoin says , you are a smart guy and has a lot for future so try to save your money in a better way than risking in gambling , this may serve you a lesson that you cannot fasten things instead do it slowly but surely , gambling is a place just to have fun and not to rely everything for your future.

You have a great run here and that is more than enough for you to understand what should be the better option for you and for sure this is not from gambling.

Goodluck to your future action and hope we will not seeing this same thread again.
330  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Canada fines binance $4.38mln for money laundering violations? on: May 13, 2024, 12:06:00 PM
Hey anyone can put a link to a news article and ask us to talk about it. You know it would be good to give a synopsis of what the article, and then share your thoughts.
That's how it should be done.
It is not everyone that will click on the link. We are all too care about phishing links. Have this in mind for next time..
I think he just wants to be a FUDster to make people sell their holdings from Binance.

This issue is always there since CZ pleaded guilty to money laundering and I'm sure not only Canada will ask for fines but also other countries that have strong AML.

News just doing its job to keep Bitcoin in a downtrend so that these whales can buy at a cheap price and later pay the news creator again to make good news to change from a downtrend to an uptrend that's what I always thought from the beginning why Bitcoin price action is a bit different compared on the past block halving.
or maybe these kind of people are whales arms to make those Fuds looks real because of yeah their plan to buy more while the price is really cheaper .
if we will just listen to this kind of news then for sure we will be facing difficulties to trust Binance when the truth is binance is trying to clear their name for some time now ,
331  Economy / Gambling / Re: QuitGamble.com - Free Help for Problem Gamblers on: May 13, 2024, 11:33:43 AM
Your website have some quality content that can guide a compulsive gambler to become a normal and responsibile gambler. Sometimes, members in this forum always seek for ways to stop gambling addiction which I have usually offered my own opinion but I can suggest this topic for them and my own opinion too.
actually this it not just for compulsive gambler but also a best way for new gambler to know what can gambling bring them as a warning and  a guide , reading this whole thread will give them more knowledge to what can do and not in terms of gambling.
because we knew nowadays that this area of fun bringing is also a place where you can lose everything if not knowing what you are entering and engaging.
332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you successfully influenced someone to invest in bitcoin ? on: May 13, 2024, 11:01:19 AM
Have you successfully influenced someone to invest in bitcoin ?  What was the final result, did they thank you later for this ?
Yes, that person thanked me. That's only one and I am happy that out of the many that have asked me how to invest, only 3-4 continued and one of them luckily got the quick profits this bull run. I've already told to that guy BTC on 2017 but didn't do anything until this year.
I was so happy for him that he did sort of a shortcut and managed to earn already compared to the other friends that I have that it took them a lot of time before having so.
I don’t know if you are just simply a great teacher or you just have a very intellectual kind of friends. You are lucky they ended up with good results otherwise they would have blamed you and ended your relationship.

There’s really no guarantee that when you advice someone that they will be able to get something good out of it that’s why I do not really want to do it. Though it would be amazing if my friends became successful at the same time as I am.
333  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: May 13, 2024, 10:40:21 AM
I think before anyone goes into gambling, they should aware of it like what happens once one becomes an addict, the risks it involved and the impact it create if gamble responsibly and what also happened if not gamble responsibly too, if they have all this ideas, that way will help them not to become an addict and they should also be aware that gambling is for fun and not a place to become rich through it, this way can really be helpful for them and also be close to them to assist them will help too and also suggest them to set time limits and the money they are going to spend for that day, this way can really be helpful.
but that is rare to find that a gambler will seek answers from others first before entering as we knew those who lures from gamblers cares nothing but just wanted them to deal playing and depositing and that is why many of them fell into wrong ideas and wrong knowledge on how to deal with gambling.
but if people will only dig first ? of what will be their "MUST DO" in gambling and for sure they will be in good outcome for sure.
334  Other / Off-topic / Re: Reborn and returned to the past, I want to buy Bitcoin! ! on: May 13, 2024, 10:11:57 AM
As the saying goes, "it is never too late to open a book".

In life, there are always factors and reasons that prevent us or make us neglect to take the right step, but once you realize the time that you wasted, this means that you still have a chance, and the important thing is not to waste it. Bitcoin is expensive now. Investing in it is difficult, and those who invested in its early days are lucky, but this does not mean that it is too late. As long as you think and have the necessary motivation, you will find the solution. Also, we are at the beginning of the crypto era, and perhaps this is the right time to make a smart investment in other currencies. . Good luck
I agree as many people often say they regret not being into bitcoin as early as they would liked to have been, lost time is lost and we can never get it back so what else is there to do but move forward and try to make up the lost time as much as we can?

We now have the knowledge in our hands so it’s best to use it to our own advantage
335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a core subject in our schools - Good or bad idea? on: May 12, 2024, 02:13:58 PM

Regarding bitcoin, many people even consider bitcoin as a speculative asset, and if bitcoin is included in education and taught to children how to invest. It's like we're encouraging them to gamble from an early age. This idea is really bad.

How is investing bad? How is it gambling when we teach kids about banks and etc. it is simply just a currency that is held digitally. Obviously we will make the education appropriate to the age of the kids. We wouldn’t be teaching 6 year olds about investment. But we would open their eyes to the world of digital money. This is our future and there is nothing wrong with it.
336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin a possible tool for revolutionising financial inclusion on: May 12, 2024, 07:01:39 AM
Bitcoin isn't a tool to help with the inflation though, if you're talking about using bitcoin to aid with the financial hardships that people face in the economy and the inflation then yes, bitcoin can help but other than that, it won't be helpful.

Maybe for now that is the case however we do not know how would bitcoin progress moving forward. I think there may be some countries interested in using bitcoin as their legal tender. Which in that case it might be really help with one country’s inflationary crisis. I know for a fact that some countries are already looking into and studying how would they be able to do exactly just that.

338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donald Trump's stance on Bitcoin is changing, the Trump pump is beginning on: May 12, 2024, 06:31:17 AM
It was just an example. Trump will probably invent a new coin, or buy into one that already exists, and use the power of the presidency to pump it while crashing Bitcoin. This is perfectly consistent with how Trump worked the first time he was president.
You are right. The way trump works is quite unique but you can definitely tell the agenda behind it. He wants money and power. He would pretend to care about bitcoin and cryptocurrency but only because he wants to earn off of it.
Quote
Trump doesn't care about Bitcoin. He doesn't care about your portfolio. He doesn't care about anything but making himself money.
He doesn’t care about bitcoin because he can’t have it. He wants a coin he can control and no matter what he does, he won’t be able to have every bitcoin and control them all.

The safe bet here is to stick with Biden and the Democrats.
The US political system is something I find worrisome. There are only two options and it’s not like both of them are your ideal candidates. Whatever the result may be, I want to say goodluck to american citizens already.
339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who's responsible for the dead coins? on: May 12, 2024, 06:26:50 AM
marketing staff?
I don’t think the blame should be placed completely on them. Yes marketing does help and if the marketing team managed to do all kinds of promotion out there surely they will be able to garner lots of interested people.

But a marketing team could only do so much with a coin. If the developers really developed the most useless coin ever in the world. What else can a marketing team do? They will just be called scammers and other names.

340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost Bitcoin and possible future scarcity on: May 12, 2024, 06:19:46 AM
  • do you think lost Bitcoin can cause Bitcoin scarcity in the future?
The halving and loss of bitcoins are almost similar.

Just the halving tends to increase the value of bitcoins by reducing the number, scarcity due to loss of bitcoins also reduces  the number of bitcoins available too, and as usual, a reduction in the available bitcoins will greatly affect positively the value of bitcoins available
Halving is not primarily done to increase the price of bitcoin but it is only a consequence of such. Halving is done to counterattack inflation and in the process of it the bitcoin price hiked up.

This is due to the common and very well-known economic concept that less suppy = more demand. The rarer it is, the more expensive it is. On the other hand some bitcoin who are lost well they were just lost unless some people actually burn some coins to hike the price up.
