Maintenant pourquoi Satoshi a disparut?

"It would have been nice to get this attention in any other context.  WikiLeaks has kicked the hornet's nest, and the swarm is headed towards us."

Post 2 Ici: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=3;sa=showPosts

324  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Changing Bitcoin subsidy algorithm on: July 25, 2019, 05:10:30 PM
But few argue the hashrate might significantly reduced to the point where government or "elite" organization could launch 51% attack at acceptable cost/loss.
With pessimistic views where bitcoin price & average transaction/second remain stagnant, it might possible.

that is not enough for starting an argument about changing the block rewards and result in change of bitcoin supply. if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
if some day in the future, we started facing this problem and the risk of 51% attack and loss of network security was becoming serious, we can then start this discussion. but now the information we have suggests that the price is more than enough to cover the cost and a lot more, so the incentive will remain.
not to mention that in this pessimistic scenario if the usage and price has dropped significantly that it can no longer cover the costs, then the incentive to attack bitcoin isn't there anymore either. just like there is no incentive to attack altcoins with small hashrate whereas you can easily do it, even the big ones like BCH can easily be 51% attacked (just like they did reverse blocks by 51% attacking it in May this year).

I think that you guys are very optimistic... we are heading to an iceberg.
The profitability about Bitcoin mining is at stake. The only way that 'nothing happen' is that Bitcoin double its value to compensate. This is not going to happen this time because, there is a red line where the investors will not go, and rather will spend their money on another crypto. It is not a coincidence that Libra will be launched officially at this precise time.

The banks behind XRP, LIBRA or EOS are just waiting that BTC hit the iceberg to take the lead and that will be the end of Bitcoin as the leading crypto.

Think about it. What if the value of BTC do not double? Then the mining will not be profitable, all the mining gears will lost profitability, all the miners will switch to another currency. This will trigger a domino effect and in March 2020 all who have Bitcoins will cry because money will flow out of Bitcoin to something else.
Now you may say that if many stop mining Bitcoin, then the difficulty will readjust.

All of this is like an Earthquake in the Crypto...

Bitcoin will see its dominance fading and the banks will take the lead.

Fixing Bitcoin at this point will be too late.

Source : https://www.canardcoincoin.com/blanchiment-dargent-bitcoin-est-utilise-800-fois-moins-que-les-monnaies-fiduciaires/

326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Lost Bitcoins in 2014 on: July 25, 2019, 01:03:43 PM
Hi i mined some BTC in 2013/2014 and forgot about it until today. I just did it with my PC and a programm and graphiccard + usb miner.

Today I thought about it after I forgot it completly.

I´ve nothing. No Wallet adress, no idea where to find.

Tried to login here but it says that my account was banned after a password leak of bitcointalk happened in 2015.

I´ve the same PC and harddisk so I looked for that Miningprogramm. Perhaps all is saved in there.

All I found was the programm "Bitcoincore" but I think I need to find another programm.

I dont know what I´m looking for and my Harddisk ist full of stupid old Files and Folders.

Do you have a hint what and where I should look for?

Thanks so far

1- BACKUP your wallet.dat, the old one. This is the most important thing
2- Install the latest Bitcoin Core from here: https://bitcoin.org/en/download
3- search your NEW wallet.dat. On windows it should be in c:/users/yourname/.bitcoincore/wallets/
4- REPLACE the new wallet.dat with the old one (and not the opposite). Keep the old wallet.dat on an USB or any safe place where you will not delete it by error.
5- run bitcoint-qt.exe

Now you have to wait until the blockchain synchonize until the last transaction you got. Bitcoin while loading the blockchain identifies your transactions and reconstruct your wallet.

Once the Wallet finished to sync you will be able to spend the coins you had! Good luck!

If you coin is a token (eg a ERC20), you can get it listed for free or on very cheap price on a decentralized exchange.
For popular DEX like Etherdelta, you can manually add the token and start trading without the involvement from the exchange site.
There are similar services for tokens from other platforms too.

We have blockchains, not tokens Sad

331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges that would list your coin for free or a very small fee? on: July 25, 2019, 12:26:41 AM
I think almost all exchanges will charge for each token listing process. why don't you try forkdelta or maybe binance.

Even if there are chances that we could be listed on a big exchange, because they like the project for example, or because they want this kind of projet for policies reason, I would not go at this stage.
Everyone can make a mistake, and you don't want to f*ck up with Binance because you don't have the experience!

So I am more looking into some friendly exchange where you can settle with your investors and get some experiences doing try and tests... and if you do a mistake you will not be burned alive like Bytecoin did with Binance.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges that would list your coin for free or a very small fee? on: July 25, 2019, 12:01:08 AM
I would also suggest against listing a coin on extremely low-volume exchanges or potentially shady exchanges such as YoBit. In my experience, a lot of lower-volume exchanges have problems and those problems might not be fixed quickly for those trying to trade your coin, and same goes for potentially shady exchanges. If you have any questions about an exchange, try to look up if the exchange you want to list your coin on has a Bitcointalk thread and read a few pages of that if applicable. If you can't find that, look at reviews elsewhere.

There are 2 controversial exchanges here that I am interested in, but I do not understand why they have such a bad reputation in these forums...

- HitBTC: I am trading with them for +3 years. I have seen tokens getting to the moon, then dumping and dying being only listed there, they also have a good community in both Europe, US and Asia: check the busy chat. They have some technical glitches sometime, but see how many coins they are listing, they obviously have more technical issues than the exchanges that are listing 10 coins.

- Yobit: while a lot of people talking very badly about this exchange, the traffic on this exchange is huge, similar to HitBTC (Alexa) and they also have a lot of twitter followers. That means that there are investors there. So what is the problem with the shady side? 99% of Tokens are washing money shames, including tops 10 coins. Shady is all the crypto and the securities, and all the banking system... If they are stealing coins like some people say, then why so much traffic and followers? They got some issues with dumping in 2018, but we are in 2019 and they seems to have fixed the problem?
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges that would list your coin for free or a very small fee? on: July 24, 2019, 11:03:43 PM
If it is not shit exchange, it does not matter. More exchange is not considered negative by anyone, on the contrary with more choice it will be easy to find the appropriate one. On the other hand, listing in one of the top 10(except hitbit) keeps you alive.

"except hitbit" do you mean except HitBtc?
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Exchanges that would list your coin for free or a very small fee? on: July 24, 2019, 09:57:33 PM
We have been in contact with exchanges that are asking several BTC to get listed. Some other are asking just a small fee.

What are your experiences and advices about quality exchanges that would list you either for free or a small fee? What exchanges you would consider as far as listing a new coin at first?

Update: I have found that thread that precisely answer to all my questions

335  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Article about the blockchain and Bitcoin scaling. on: July 24, 2019, 09:44:35 PM
Just a small stupid question but, since SEGWIT is enabling a variable size of blocks and so far it never happen that the Bitcoin transaction had to scale up over 2500 bytes, why people are still talking about the size of the blocks?
Isn't SEGWIT the solution of this problem?

"As of 2017, the average transaction make-up would lead to blocks with 4M weight units being about 2.3MB in size if all transactions were segwit transactions."

336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $32m stolen from Tokyo cryptocurrency exchange in latest hack on: July 24, 2019, 09:19:42 PM
Once again, the infamous question, why the exchanges are not modifying the wallets so that they cannot make for example a transfert of money > 1 without having someone verifying that the transaction is made by a valid member, identified and not from a hacker that got access to the hot wallet by hacking the server?
Exchanges have the resources for paying programmers.
Hot Wallet in the exchanges should have an extra layer of security to avoid these big loss of money.
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BUYBACK TOKENS SOLVES DUMPING on: July 24, 2019, 05:15:59 AM
Buying back does not fix the problem at the root.
The problem is that many people are not helping coins by mining and dumping for example.
Coins should be careful to who they are vesting their money. If you let too many miners, if you go into the auto select pools, if you give millions in bounties, it might help to get some popularity at the very beginning, but all these people are not real supporter of the coin.
If you have to buy back your own coin, that means that you failed to attract people who cares about your projet.
As an investor, stay away from these coin, they are not healthy, they are just short term projects that goal is to make short term money. Your investment is at risk when playing with these coins.

339  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-23] Indian govt panel seeks total ban on private crypto on: July 23, 2019, 09:32:41 AM
Not going to wade into this mess, because there seems to be just so many voices piping up and down about the state of crypto in India. This news, if true, does realise that it's banning private crypto and yet deciding to install one itself, right?

And if true, this SHOULD mean that Bitcoin and maybe a handful of others, would escape the ban. Interesting to see how they'll define private... because at the moment. But all the quotes seem to deem all crypto as private.

It sounds like a consequence Libra from Facebook. They do not care the small cryptos, but Facebook and Whatsap is HUGE in India. They see it as if US is meddling in their finance.
340  Bitcoin / Press / [2019-07-23] Indian govt panel seeks total ban on private crypto on: July 23, 2019, 08:12:57 AM
https://www.rt.com/business/464811-india-crypto-currency-ban/

A total ban on private cryptocurrencies has been approved by a government panel in India which also recommended a 10-year prison sentence for anyone dealing with unregulated digital assets.

After nearly two years of work, the inter-ministerial committee (IMC), chaired by the economic affairs secretary, has submitted its final report to the government, together with draft legislation seeking to ban crypto trading in the country. It also recommended setting up a 'Digital Rupee' that would be issued by the Reserve Bank as legal tender.

The Committee has recommended a law banning the cryptocurrencies in India and criminalizing carrying on of any activities connected with cryptocurrencies in India.

Highlighting their “serious concern” over the growing popularity of alternative digital payment systems that completely lack government oversight, the IMC stressed that privately generated cryptocurrencies “lack all the attributes of a currency,” carry no “intrinsic value” and therefore can be detrimental to India’s economy.

To stamp out crypto mining and trading, the panel in their draft 'Banning of Cryptocurrency & Regulation of Official Digital Currency Bill' suggested imposing a jail term of up to 10 years and/or a penalty of up to $7.25 million against any person who “directly or indirectly mines, generates, holds, sells, deals in, transfers, disposes of or issues cryptocurrency.”

"These cryptocurrencies cannot serve the purpose of a currency. The private cryptocurrencies are inconsistent with the essential functions of money/currency, hence private cryptocurrencies cannot replace fiat currencies."

The need to produce clear guidance on cryptocurrencies became acute last April when the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issued a notice banning financial institutions from participating in virtual currency transactions. In July 2018, the Supreme Court of India endorsed the ban, pending further review.

Before the government decides on the fate of cryptocurrencies in India, the IMC report and the draft legislation will be reviewed by all relevant departments and regulatory authorities.

@SecretaryDEA
“Committee is very receptive and supportive of distributed ledger technologies and recommends its widespread use in delivering financial services,” Subhash Chandra Garg, Economic Affairs Secretary said in a tweet. “It also opens up door for a possible official digital rupee. Private crypto currencies are of no real value. Rightly banned.”
