321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin or Dogecoin? on: November 17, 2017, 07:43:07 AM
Which is more profitable and most preffered by the many?
why would you even compare the two?  anyone who would answer your question will surely choose bitcoin over dogecoin. they are far from each other. Bitcoin started in 2009 ,almost 8 years ago. Dogecoin started only in 2013,almost 4 years ago. Bitcoin has reached too far compared to dogecoin because it was launched first. It became the favorite and it became the standard when we are talking about digital currency. dogecoin may rise in the future,it has potential because it developed an online community quickly, it also has a fast initial coin production compared the other crypto currencies. By mid 2015s, there are almost 100 billion doge coins have been circulating. But when we compare the two in their current state, anyone would choose bitcoin.
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Dogecoin have a future? on: November 17, 2017, 07:12:18 AM
Dogecoin has been my favorite alt coin for quite a long time. It serves as a good cryptocurrency for tipping others, as well as being a fun and inexpensive medium of exchange.

However, I'm worried what might happen to Dogecoin in the future, since it has been quite some time that no new version of the QT wallet has been mentioned, neither some innovation to keep it going for the long term.

It would become ideal for Dogecoin to add SegWit to its code, and gain traction if it gains acceptance from the miners. Then, if it manages to become the first cryptocurrency to accept the scalable solution, it could rise in popularity once more (not to mention that transaction will be near instantaneous).

Nevertheless, Dogecoin is a great cryptocurrency being inexpensive and relatively stable, making it a great way to tip others or send micropayments faster than BTC at a fraction of the cost.

Looking forward to your opinion. Wink
dogecoin will be valuable in the future,as many people says, they predict that by the year 2019 or 2020 it will sit a 1 us dollars.  Dogecoin is one of my favorite alt coins aside from ethereum. Maybe because I love dogs and I love the meme doge. when it was launched i thought it was just a "joke". it has a fast initial coin production when it was launched. It also developed an online community quickly maybe because the meme is popular and it reached a 60 million us dollar capitalization month after it was launched, three years later it reached a capitalization of 340 million us dollars so I guess it will have a good run in the future.
323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to participate in ICO's? on: November 17, 2017, 06:38:37 AM
Right now there are many ICOs coming out, is it really safe to participate in any of it and spend that much? In participating ICOs I have high hopes that these coins could be the next Bitcoin or other currencies that are really going up in the market.
there are so many ico there and it is really hard to distinguish which is a scam or not especially when the developers are good at scamming. Most icos there are scam but I can say that there are still legit and trusted icos. do your own research about them, read their project platform and the goal of the project, try to look if they are experienced enough, read about the team of developers and the desciption of the full project then invest at your own risk .It is like a gambling because you might lose what you invested or gain whatever amount you invested.
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to detect a scam ICO? on: November 17, 2017, 03:14:14 AM
How to detect a scam ICO?
It is hard to determine whether an ICO is a scam or not. If you are not paid then it is a scam. When you want to know what is a scam or a legit ones, go to their page, try to do a research by yourself and consider that it is known by many. Try to read about their project platform and judge it if it is too good to be true. Try looking for the white paper,if it has none probably it has a high chance that it is a scam, if it has a whitepaper read the full project description. Look for the development team, read the description then think of it if it is worthy to be trusted, if it has none then do not waste your time, look for another.
325  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think digital currency will ever replace paper money? on: November 16, 2017, 03:42:37 PM
Personally I say yes as our society becomes increasingly dependent upon technology, digital currency will become a more popular means of paying for different things and it is more effective and instant. I haven't used much physical money in the past 8 years and I rarely had any problems with that.

What do you guys think? Wink
In my opinion, I say no, it should not replace our money because digital cryptocurrencies like bitcoin is heavy reliant on technology, as the name states,"digital".It circulates through the use of technology specifically the internet. If digital cryptocurrency will replace our real money,  what will happen to those who do not rely in our modern technology like computers or who does not use internet?  they can not use it and for those who live in place where internet is out of reach, they will not be able to use and spend it unlike the paper money.  Digital cryptocurrency is intangible and it is not applicable in everyday life for example buying things from the market, or from the store that needs immediate transaction between you and the seller.
326  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why do we keep converting bitcoin back to dollars ? on: November 16, 2017, 11:48:31 AM
It's almost like we don't value it for itself, but what it's worth in "real" money.
we convert bitcoin in dollars because you can not actually use bitcoin to buy coffee outside, we convert it to dollars or any other currency because we want to spend it to something that can not be bought through bitcoin but can be bought using real life currency. But not all the time we convert bitcoin because I personally hold it and I do not convert it yet. I am waiting for the time that bitcoin's price wil rise even higher.  Sometimes I do not convert it because I can purchase something directly using bitcoin, for example is steam games and other in game purchases.
327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in the classroom, yes or no and why? on: November 16, 2017, 11:30:01 AM
This is for a personal writing project I'm working on. I imagine that Bitcoin would be good for things like teaching things like math with decimals ("How many Satoshis do you need to get a tenth of a Bitcoin?", stuff like that), budgeting (Spend it on whatever you want, but when it's gone, it's gone), or even a little bit of IT / programming stuff like how cryptography works. What do you guys think of this?
Idont think so, I can not disagree because there are colleges and universities that are actually teaching bitcoin as one of their subjects. About what you said, teaching how many decimals or what, how many satoshis to bitcoin, that is not how it is.  It is just a simple math that every highschool student know. Some sort of budgeting is thought on our economics class so adding a subject like what you said is just plain worthless. maybe a thing like introducing to bitcoin, how it works, how trading, mining and stuff like that works, also other altcoins included.
328  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too late to buy bitcoin? on: November 16, 2017, 06:32:41 AM
Even the blind can see that crypto Currency is making people millionaires all  over the world just because they present the holders of such currency with the financial freedom and opportunity to accrue large amounts of wealth base on currency investment . But my question is that, is it late to buy bitcoin? Should i wait maybe bitcoin price will decline after 1st August meeting? Please i will welcome your advice so that I can make my decision on crypto currency investment.
I think if you want to buy a cheaper price of bitcoin, you are late. Too bad we missed the chance to buy bitcoins when its price is low. They say if you invest 20 us dollars in bitcoin 5 years ago,you would be sitting with 7000 us dollars by now so do not hesitate to buy because I believe it will grow and develop even more so you will not lose something. If you do not invest until it dont rise maybe you will regret it. Bitcoin's price is currently at about 7500 us dollars and it may rise up in the next few months so do not say that it's too late.
329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who can destroy Bitcoin ? on: November 15, 2017, 02:43:02 PM
Bitcoin is growing very powerfully but in this present scenario which factors can destroy or make its market value Zero.
i think what can destroy bitcoin is government if we are talking about in a certain country. Like what happened to China, bitcoin was totally banned by the government because the central bank of china does not have any control to bitcoin so they want to regain their power of control.  If all other countries also ban bitcoin like China, it may be the end of bitcoin. Another factor may be internet, because no internet, no bitcoin. It will not be destroyed but it will be unusable because it is a digital cryptocurrency so it operates with the use of technology especially with the use of internet. If there is a total break down on the internet around the world, if that's possible,  bitcoin will be unusable.
330  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bitcoin is not gambling on: November 14, 2017, 03:06:06 PM
I don't know why people say bitcoin is gambling. Its not gambling. You are investing your money and time. You use your internet. So its not gambling dealing with it.
I beg to disagree, people actually say that it is gambling because they have tried it.From the definition of gambling,it says that it is an act where you risking something important by relying on chances. It is gambling not in a sense of betting money in a game of luck and skill. What we mean is people do not just simply invest in bitcoin, they are gambling it. Once you invest, you are taking the risk of losing sosomething.  When you are trading, it requires to have trust in others. It may be high risk because some are reputable and trustworthy and some are not so you are taking the risk here.
331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe that digital currencies will replace Fiat? on: November 14, 2017, 01:48:27 PM
I know it may not be possible right now, but do you think fiat will be gone in the future?
I do not think replacing fiat money by digital cryptocurrency is possible. Digital crytocurrencies from the word itself, digital;  it is used or characterized by means of computer and technology. Imagine if the fiat money was gone and the approved currency by the government was bitcoin, what will happen to people who does not rely on technology, or they do not have it. Even if they have it,they need to have an internet connection.  Keep in mind that not all places in the world are reachable by internet like farmland or other remote areas, they are not able to spend because they can not use digital cryptocurrencies.
332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are your plans with your Bitcoin? on: November 14, 2017, 12:22:40 PM
Hi guys Smiley May I know what are your plans on your Bitcoin in the future? Do you plan to keep on investing on Bitcoin related businesses or do plan to convert it into fiat and ventures on new business?

I'm planning to invest more on Bitcoin related companies and convert some of my Bitcoin into fiat and invest it on our local stock market. How about you?
My plan with my bitcoins is to earn more bitcoins, like what you will do, I will also invest more so that I can earn more. I will continue joining campaigns so that I have more bitcoin to hold in my wallet.I can also do gambling and casino games because earning is simple in gambling, losing is also simple here so maybe I will do it when I have something ready to lose. I will also boost my trading skills to earn more bitcoin. I will wait if there is a change on bitcoin's price and if that goes I will convert it into real life currency, but I will not convert all, I will still continue earning and investing because I want to be rich.
333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are so many people against bitcoin? on: November 14, 2017, 11:50:37 AM
I'm trying to understand why are so many people against bitcoin?  is it the innovation that scares them? the feeling of staying behind? the fact that that money will go to the wrong hands?

I do not think so, I guess they are not aware of what bitcoin is and how it works. It is hard to believe at first even I do not accept it as first and I thought this will be a waste of time. I think they are thinking that bitcoin is fake because the currency is just circulating only in online world, they can not touch it or something that they can spend it directly from their pockets. They also have no idea how you earn money from this. They have no clue how you will get paid and where do they get the money that they will pay to you. even I do not know how but I know that I can earn money through this.
334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to explain bitcoin to teenagers or children on: November 14, 2017, 03:59:08 AM
Bitcoin is difficult to explain. I also felt difficulties in understanding bitcoin for the firs time. Let's share how to explain bitcoin to children of teenagers. In My country I can say 98% children don't know bitcoin. In fact, bitcoin can be future money. If the children not familiar with cryptocurrency or bitcoin, how can they face the digital era in the future.
yes I agree with you, even I do not understand bitcoin completely so I find it hard to explain and introduce bitcoin to someone. I think when you are introducing someone or explaining it, you should start on the very basic. Explain the what bitcoin is, the concept of bitcoin.  When you are explaining it to a child, make sure that he or she has the interest because as we know kids do not have long attention span and can not focus in a long period of time. Make it lively and make sure it catches his or her interest then explain it in a way that he or she can understand clearly, do not teach all your knowledge in one sitting.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing on ICOS is good or bad ? on: November 10, 2017, 02:54:22 PM
This depends on the individual because everybody will have different opinions. For some it might be good while for the other it might be bad.
Not all ICOs are good, some there to scam and some just to raise funds. Some ICOs might be good while the other may be of no worth.
You must be wise in choosing an ICO. If the ICO has good value in future and are in the market to solve issues then investing in it might be a good idea.
I agree, when you are investing in ICOs, you are expecting high return. Ico is pretty risky, it has its pros and cons. In the positive side, some of the investors gets rich here because of the high return investments.  The bad thing is maybe you are not one of them because many Ico now are scam,  I am not saying that all are scam but most of it. The good thing about investing in it is because of its transparency, also when you invest you can be a part of community.  The return of investment can be 10x higher or just completely nothing. It is very risky because scammers are everywhere, some use unregulated icos to victimize greedy investors. So it depends on you whether you want to invest or not.
336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: why some country banned bitcoin? on: November 10, 2017, 12:09:18 PM
why some country banned bitcoin?
is there any problem? i know that bitcoin is international crypto currency. but why some country banned this cryto?
other countries has already banned bitcoin and any other digital cryptocurrencies. For example is China, they have TOTALLY shut down bitcoin. Many known person have said that bitcoin is a fraud.  China's reason for banning it is because it is against their law. This activity is characterized as unauthorized fund raising which is a criminal offense in China. I guess China's central bank want to get back their power but they conceal it by saying it was just for risk management. Bitcoin is not controlled by China's central bank and they dont trust it so I think these are the reasons why they remove it.

338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price Worth $7500 on: November 10, 2017, 12:18:17 AM
Bitcoin Price Will Have ‘No Difficulty’ Hitting $10,000,
After Bitcoin hit $7,000 and stayed above it Monday, the virtual currency’s most famous fans are confident $10,000 will involve little effort.
Will the bitcoin price reach $10k by the end of the year, then what about the altco price??

I am not sure about that but I think it is possible, it has a high chance that your prediction will come true. Bitcoin's price increases gradually. because of the increase in demands in bitcoin and the consistent supply, the demand goes higher than the supply,in this way or manner as the law of demand and supply states,  the price will go high.  This is the current state of bitcoin now so it is not impossible that bitcoin can make it.  Every bitcoin exchange, buying or selling of bitcoin affects the price of bitcoin to rise up.Bitcoin's growth in price is not the same at all times, some are fast, some are slow but steady growth.
339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you ever convince or encourage someone to invest in Bitcoin? on: November 09, 2017, 10:52:44 PM
Bitcoin has been awesome and will always be awesome. We, who have been involved in Bitcoin since the very early days understand this very well. However, for the laymen, for the people who don't really understand the technical aspects of Bitcoin or those who only watch the mainstream media are skeptic about Bitcoin. Since, all they hear in the News is how Bitcoin can be used for illegal activities and how it offers complete anonymity (common misconception) to people to do what they need on Internet.

Have you ever convinced or encouraged anyone to invest in Bitcoin and did you have success? Of course, since we know that we are giving a good advice, so we would usually advice our own family members or friends about this.

In the past few months, I encouraged some of my friends to invest in Bitcoin. They had a lot of questions about it from technical perspective and I helped them understand. They invested in Bitcoin and are very happy with the returns. And now this information propagates and more people will get involved in Bitcoin.

In my humble opinion, as a Bitcoin enthusiast, we can help understand people the positive aspects of Bitcoin. The price of Bitcoin is still in the very initial stages and those of us who really understand what Bitcoin offers, know that Bitcoin Price is only 1/10th of what it's worth right now.

What are the most common responses you get from laymen about investing in Bitcoin?

Some popular ones I receive are:

1. "Oh, it's already too expensive, I cannot afford to buy it."
2. "The governments don't regulate it, why should I invest in it?"
3. "It's an illegal currency and only cyber criminals use it."
4. "What backs up Bitcoin? For example US Dollar is backed by Trust (all time favorite response Cheesy), but what backs up Bitcoin?"
5. "The market is way too volatile to invest."
6. "You can't really use Bitcoin as a currency."
Yes,  I did it to someone,my other family members, my friends and my school mates, I encouraged them to invest in bitcoin. I love to share knowledge that I know,  I like to give them tips.  But I do not want to share it to someone that does not give interest in listening. I explain them the important details, the important things that they must know,  I like it when they ask questions it means that they are intersted.  I feel glad when they did not even think and say bad about it,  they trusted me easily.  Now,  we are both investing.
340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if, we advertise bitcoin on T.V.? on: November 09, 2017, 10:36:14 PM
I've just thought about this for a moment but, if we want bitcoin to get more popularity, attention or acceptance would it be nice to make some advertisement about it on T.V.? I don't know if in other countries they advertise bitcoin but in my country, I haven't seen one. How do you think advertising bitcoin will affect the people? Any thoughts?
I think advertising bitcoin in tslevision is not a good idea, bitcoin is already popular and why do you even advertise it if you will gain nothing,  I mean for example, the commercial of a soap,  they pay huge amount of money to advertise their product.  In return, their product will be known by people and they will buy it. In bitcoin, it will not be the case. I guess no one wants to pay that amount of money that does not expect for a return. Another point is it does not need advertisement because it is not a product or a brand, it is a digital cryptocurrency, it is like you are advertising dollar to be more popular.
