Well since the whales and the miners joined forces we had witness one of the biggest pump and dump scheme which what happened on BCH a few days ago and thus it lost all of its credibility. I believe they have profited a lot and it was a success so there's a decent possibility that they might do it again but its not limited on BTG imo although theres a huge chance for BTG because of their private premine.
It is possible but a very risky investment. It would be a high risk high return investment if ever BTG pumped crazy like BCH. There's no doubt that if they plan to manipulate a coin now, it would be BTG since it is the only recent bitcoin fork that have been sitting for low price for some time. Also, BTG dev might be someone from the miners who manipulated BCH and they might try manipulating BTG as well for it to go to the moon. U look at the shills they have here defending the 'fraud' and saying it was NOT a "SCAM" I repeat, NOT A SCAM Bullshit we "ALL BACK in August 2017" said it was a "SCAM" Given the number of shill-bots hasbara paid here I think U are right, its going to the moon, on another attempt to discredit the "BITCOIN BRAND". I am closely watching the price of bitcoin gold but the price keeps decreasing everyday now the value of BTG is around $160.I don't think the price bump will occur that happened in the bitcoincash,because the the value of the coin is depends on the demand of that coin but currently the market cap is very less.
Yesterday it was down to $130 the 30 day low, and now back t $170, so somebody is protecting this shit-coin  Exchanges are still stopping ppl from getting out but the tide has slowed. Lot's of people "BELIEVE" it will go back to $500 USD soon, I don't think so, maybe $300 that will be it this year, waiting to get your $500 back could be along wait for those who bought the top during the Futures on YOBIT.net |

I am planing on switching to windows to see how things are.
I need advice from someone who is running more than 8 of the same GPU's (12x 1080Ti's etc).
Is it possible? Is it stable? Is there alot of work to get it running?
YOU MUST USE LINUX [ Why would a miner support windows? ] BTC-12 is a great board 1060-3 is the best bang for buck, 1080 is the worst LINUX or Die Windows is spyware/malware U can't even 'reset' a windows box without pulling the AC or having double pole-relays running on a switch. I test mined it with ccminer using a GPU card (single) for test mining, all the shares were rejected from btx.suprnova.cc, strange ...
Don't really want to roll up sleeves and read all the 'timetravel' code in ccminer, isn't there anything explaining this coin?? The bitcointalk.org thread is really about machinecoin, and not this coin, it calls itself a 'minable-coin', but has all the web property's of an ICO;

people call a lot of things scam just because they want them to be dumped for many different reasons but mostly they do it because they want to buy that thing at the bottom and then ride the pump of it.
in case of bitcoin gold, i still wouldn't call it a scam. but it definitely is a shitcoin. that doesn't mean it is not profitable to invest in it.
your mistake is that you bought it at a bad time. you bought when everyone was dumping their free BTG tokens. there has been 16.5+ million bitcoins when they forked it and people received 16.5+ million BTG from this fork which many will surely dump and continue to dump in the near future until it reaches the bottom.
if you want to invest you should invest by then, when the dumping has stopped or slowed down.
don't expect anything big out of this premined altcoin but it has potential for getting pumped.

I believe BCH started rising 2 weeks before the fork of BTG, and the reason why BCH is getting pumped is because of two factors:
* Chinese whale buyers
* BCH hard fork

bitcoin gold and bitcoin cash and 90% of the altcoins (specially ethereum an the top 10 coins) are the same thing. they all were created for pump and dump purposes. they have no actual value, no usage, no real contribution and in most cases they have lots of bugs.
