321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can myetherwallet get hacked? on: January 22, 2018, 02:10:12 PM
Hi, i have backupped my pvkeys on an usb stick. I wrote it also down on a piece of paper. My computer broke. I put a metal pin through the harddrives. I will not buy a new pc soon. So i wont check in on myetherwallet for some time. I cant click on phishing links. My question is : are my funds safe? Can myetherwallet get hacked? Can my funds dissapear even when i have no computer, hid my keys? Im to stupid to work with a ledger or trezor. Can something happen to it like with the parity/kill?

It is very possible that your funds can be hacked  which is why MEW suggest that people should use Hardwallet to safe guard their funds.

Bitcoin To Drop As Low As $1000 This Year, Wall Street CIO Predicts
"I wouldn't be surprised if over the next year it's down to $1,000 to $3,000,"

Is this going to be real or not ?

Well it is all speculation , Bitcoin has always risen overcome all resistance. Besides the adoption of Bitcoin is just gaining traction so I would not give up just yet
323  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is the best wallet for Bitcoin trade on: January 22, 2018, 02:06:05 PM
I would suggesting using Electrum as it is one of the safest desktop wallets available... I can't promise anything about fees though since they all are technically almost the same.

Let me first say that there is no guarantee that your coins is safe online except you use a hardwallet like Nano and Trezor but I use Luno and they are great
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin - altcoin on: January 22, 2018, 01:11:51 PM
I just started with buying some crypto coins and have a lot to learn.

But almost every time when Bitcoin is up, al lot of the other coins also go up. And the moment Bitcoin drops , the other coins also drop. Is this just a coincidence or is htis how it always works? Can someone explain this to me?

Well this happens because when Bitcoin is down, a lot of people cash out of their altcoins to get bitcoin. The market is so unpredictable and soon enough, you will see that there is no correlation between bitcoin and altcoins
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Buying my coffee with cryptos! on: January 22, 2018, 01:09:57 PM
Letīs say I want to open a coffee shop where you can buy your coffee ONLY with cryptos.

Which coin would you use for this case?  I would choose XRB, because it is very fast and there are no fees!

Please tell me your suggestions.

I would choose XLM, Zcash , ATBcoin and even 3dcoin. These coins are very fast and have a low transaction fee
326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How can I measure the hype of a project? on: January 22, 2018, 01:08:43 PM
Does anyone know any tool or set of tools that could allow me to evaluate how much hype is a project achieving across different social platforms and media? I would be looking for something easy, automated and not too expensive.

Doesn't matter how much hype you are able to measure , it is not going to determine the success or failure of a project but I think Icorating will help you to achieve your goal
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Risk in National ID submission for ICO KYC? on: January 22, 2018, 01:06:31 PM
Hi guys,
Today I thought that many ICO are allowing to participate after KYC in which user has to submit national id, address proof and bank statement etc.
Isnt it risky?

A lot of ICOs will be regulated despite the fact that they are decentralized. It is not new and it is what we need to weed out the scammers from the space. Not all ICOs require your ID
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do your numbers before entering an ICO - how to on: January 21, 2018, 09:51:30 PM
I am seeing so many new people here that I thought I would make a post about the basics. Surely many people know this, but others donīt:

If you are considering an ICO, you like the team, advisors, roadmap, idea, etc... There is a number you have to make.

Look a the total number of tokens.
Look and estimate the average price of the tokens in the sale.
Multiply those. That is the "marketcap" of those tokens.

If that number does not make sense to you, run away.

Example: Startup X sells 1 Million tokens at 1 dollar each. They keep 3 million tokens. This startup is saying that their tokens have 4 million dollars of value total. Can be reasonable, although they are keeping too many tokens, so the value is unlikely to go up unless very good things happen.

Example: Startup Y sells 1 Million tokens at 1 dollar each. They keep half million. They are valuing the tokens at 1,5 million total and only keeping half a million. Much better.

Example: Startup Z sells 4 Million tokens at 1 dollar each. They keep 100 million. They are valuing the tokens at 104 million total and keeping most of it. It is nearly impossible for that token to be worth what you paid for it.

Thanks a lot for this info. You are right. Many investors jump into Icos without doing their due diligence or looking at market cap
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which altcoins are going to change our lives? on: January 21, 2018, 09:47:28 PM
I'm sorry for all the ones looking for speculations, this is not the purpose of the thread. I want to hear from the community about which coins will be making a difference in our world over the next few years.

Here are some alt coins

POWR. A great token that will change the way we deal with power. They are creating a blockchain where people can trade their excess energy

3dcoin.  They are creating their blockchain for the VR industry where anything is possible

Lucyd. Check out their Smart glasses that will make a difference in the world
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Airdrops Profitable? on: January 21, 2018, 09:45:00 PM
Hi everyone. I've tried participating in a couple of airdrops but haven't gotten any coins yet. For those of you who have, how do you go about making anything out of airdrops? Is it worthwhile or just the usual pump and dump?

You can join some airdrops and check out some threads in bitcointalk where people share airdrops. There is no guarantee that you can make profit with airdrops but if you do your research , you can make some money
331  Other / Archival / Re: Are you worried? on: January 21, 2018, 09:43:08 PM
Since the market is going down and down are you worried about your Bitcoin? I saw someone asking what to do with his/her bitcoin? S/he has 12 bitcoin. What are you doing with your bitcoin?

I am not worried about the price of bitcoin because it is in a corrective mode. As history has shown in the charts, there will always be dips and rise for bitcoin. I suggest your friend should hodl
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you had $50, what would you invest in? on: January 21, 2018, 09:40:58 PM
Hey Folks, I know this was posted all the time, and sorry about that. But I'd like to hear from you what would you invest in if you had 50 dollars in your pocket ready to put into some crypto?

It depends but If i had 50 dollars, i would invest in Bitcoin, Eth and some ICOs that solve a great problem and are below 10 cents
333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin on: January 21, 2018, 09:39:02 PM
In the next year ETH will overtake BTC as the number 1 cryptocurrency.  I would unload your bitcoin while you still can.

I don't think so. Even if the price comes close to bitcoin, i will still be positive on Bitcoin because Eth and bitcoin achieve different missions on the crypto space
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: GREAT CRYPTO DEPRESSION on: January 20, 2018, 01:52:05 PM
DID EVERYONE SURVIVE THE GREAT CRYPTO DEPRESSION OF JAN 2018???

It is not over yet but it is the best time of the crypto market. Despite the panic and seeing investments lose valur by 50%, it is a great reminder of the importance of proper research

337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The investment on: January 20, 2018, 01:41:09 PM
Do not invest in coin you do not understand, or even see many people make a lot of money from it.
Calculate your investment in electronic money when your investment is not high, which will help you easily cut losses and exit the wrong trading.
Be consistent with your principles.
Be patient and think hard.

Spot on and i love your advice. Strange to see that people invest because of FOMO when they have no clue about the vision of the coin.

It is best to do yoir due diligence so your emotions can be intact when the market experiences its ups and downs

339  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blood-Bath Over? on: January 20, 2018, 01:33:15 PM
it seems that we've recovered 100 Billion over night putting us right back at 550 Billion at the time of writing this. Are we heading back to 700B?

What do you think?

Since the correction is ongoing, it is possible that we are going back to 700b. Compared to the market cap for Stock which is at a trillion, there is so much room for crypto
340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Waiting 2 days for ethereum transfer! on: January 20, 2018, 12:25:27 PM
Someone sent me some ethereum 2 days ago!I know they sent it: checked Etherscan
Has not shown up!
As far as I am concerned ethereum is a joke.
Opinions please!

There are so many things that might have happened. Maybe the gas was not enough or the network is congested
