321  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: TerraHash Order Queue and info on: June 19, 2013, 05:40:57 PM
They go from 430 to XXXXXX one at a time.

No, they go from 432 to XXX by randomly skipping to a higher number! Smiley

That is odd way to program something, but OK.
322  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: TerraHash Order Queue and info on: June 19, 2013, 05:37:34 PM
I take it to mean something different.  Of course the order numbers are sequential. They go from 430 to XXXXXX one at a time.
What I assume he means is the time they finalized an order  maybe different. They are not sequential.  IE order #450 took his sweet time loading his cart, but order 500 was lightening fast and loaded his cart and checked out before order 450 was done.  IN this scenario, order number 500 is ahead of order number 450 in the queue.

Oh, now it makes even more sense to me...

sending $79,109.13 up front on 14th of May

Cloudhashing sent TH just enough money to purchase another 10,000 Avalon chips on May 14th, right when TH says they would have made a second avalon order.

Now comes June and Cloudhashing wants a refund, but TH has no money.  The only way to raise money for a refund is to accept pre-orders. Smiley

LOL I'll bet you are right.  Makes perfect sense. Grin

So, like a fool I made a purchase and I am about order # 1200. What exactly does that mean as far as how long after everyone else I will be receiving this thing? I know I won't be on the first order, what about the second?

Total speculation, but assuming they place another order for chips this week, its 6-8 weeks or so to take delivery. another 2 weeks to manufacture and deliver to you.  10 weeks or so is possible. September/October?  Of course this all depends on them able to build a working K16 K64 and ship with the existing chip order. Which is not a certainty.  Cool

As soon as your payment is received in full you will receive email confirmation with order delivery details.

order # 705

Check your spam folders? Is your email correct?  I decided to spring on a K16 board via PayPal and received receipt email within a few seconds.  My status says processing also.

Are there any charts online that show theoretical difficulty in the weeks/months to come?  I've googled, but have not found what I think I'm looking for.  I'm curious to see what those that know more than me think will happen as the influx of ASICs hit the network.

Try this site.  http://organofcorti.blogspot.be/

or this one http://bitcoincharts.com/

Yeah, but every 2 weeks it will keep going Down, so say they deliver middle July, and its 10 dollars profit a day, and then 2 weeks later with everyone delivering soon, i am assuming it will go to 5 dollars a day, and then by mid august when most people are shipping their devices its pointless. Unless you just want to mine bitcoins for the fun of it, and hope that bitcoins goes to 1k a coin Tongue , or store it at your work and don't have to pay power costs

You are projecting difficulty to double every month and price of BTC to remain unchanged. Neither of those is likely.

Try this calculator.

Bitcoin Profit Calculator

Plug in some numbers for the 64 and the 16 boards.  Make sure you use the Expert mode to account for difficulty and deliver time. Try raising and lowering BTC price, difficulty and delivery time to get a sense of the variables involved.   A few weeks delay can have dramatic effect on your ROI.  It may make you reconsider how much you are willing to invest or risk with  TerraHash.

Cheers!

+1. You need an acknowledged member to go and document meeting them in person with a pre-determined Q&A in mind (not plugging me again, anyone can do it). You need more evidence. As of yet you have had a few pics of an empty serviced office.

I agree, I am hesitant also because of those facts, the adjusted prices, no proof of chip purchase and no working prototypes.  Margins would be slim if difficulty continues at 1.3% a day.  If it takes them more than 4 months to deliver. You may never see a return.  If BTC drops below 90 its a certainty.

I will sit this one out thank you.  Tongue

I ask you again to tell me how many BFL devices have been shipped.

No One but BFL knows that, and they are not disclosing the exact numbers shipped.

Let's get clear about our agreement here. This is a SHIPPING blog. I agree to tell you the shipping dates of the products we are shipping every day so you can have some idea where we are in the queue.

Some people ask me to share the order numbers. These are not relevant, since we ship by pay date. It would tell you nothing. Sometimes we had to assign a large number to an old order because it got lost. The order numbers are only for reference, not shipping queue.

Others ask me to post quantities shipped each day. This also doesn't tell you anything, because you don't know how many orders there are. Some of this information is proprietary and we just don't share it.

I use coinbase  http://www.coinbase.com   I have it linked to a bank account that I use just for Bitcoin trasnsactions. (Easier for the tax man calculations) .  You can buy bitcoins directly from the  coinbase site at the current MtGox market price.
Couple drawbacks, you are limited to 10 bitcoins a day until you have been  verified.
Also, the bank transfer takes a few days. So it isn't instant.

Cheers

You can look at the Custom Hardware forum https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=76.0  or the Marketplace to take advantage of some of the GB and offers.
Make sure you do your research before investing in any of these offers.  Caveat Emptor

Its all over the board, but from what I can tell, if you want to get a USB device ( block Erupter USB  ~300 gh/s ) you can pretty much find one and get it within the week.
Too bad that the current price and BTC difficulty of these , they will not generate enough BTC to pay for themselves.  It is mostly a novelty item.  For anything more substantial with quick delivery you will have to buy used from a marketplace or auction site.

If you are looking at new ASIC rigs, it appears that late August -September for a lot of the  Klondike boards - Avalon clones.  If you browse the custom Hardware forum, you can get a rough idea from the posts in there.

You can buy bitcoin on ebay.... Even in the USA...
I just saw that but is it reliable? Could someone not rip you off that way?

Yes they can.  You can search the forums for many scammer stories regarding e-bay and bitcoins(litecoins) etc.  The most common scam being paypal chargebacks or disputing the charge on thier CC after you transfer the coins to them.
