I haven't read up on the address generation protocol, but here's a question... Would it be possible to have a dedicated machine for generating addresses, and is it possible to be lucky and generate an existing address with actual balance? We've had this discussion thousands of times on the forum. Nothing prevents it, it would just take you billions of years, with all the computers on EARTH bruteforcing. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=892752.msg9909378#msg9909378

Now that these private keys are compromised, I sure hope nobody decides to import them, biggest mistake ever.

I need to follow them? Why? I am sorry, but there is little time I can spare for twitter, let alone "following" somebody, which is not useful in any sort of way.

Hey, Just trying to figure out what the transfer fees would be for a range of sums ranging from $1000-$100,000 USD (i.e. 3.18-318.22 BTC) from wallet>wallet.
What would the lowest/highest possible fees be (or worst case/best case if you want to call it that)?
Thanks.
(I did try and google this using a range of keywords but couldn't find a concrete answer)
Look at this TX https://blockchain.info/tx/8f1d3a8ef6b2d4a25d2f499279e01518b4770819ccbc39a765c4c326170c61b3Fee:0.0001. That TX is way way bigger than what you want to transfer(217,517 BTC). And if they chose to, they could have sent it with a ZERO fee and it would still have confirmed due to the priority being higher.

Odd thing is, MH370 was never found, ever...it just vanished as if abducted by aliens. While the information about the new plane is scarce, it has vanished as well(till found, if ever). In both cases, the pilots did/asked strange things. MH370 simply turned around, while this new plane asked the tower to gain altitude.

When I look at the pictures, I imagine chocolate coins for some reason.

OP, we all have individual ideas why Bitcoin will succeed or fail. But we are just men(gender neutral), it's really a gamble. It will either or will not. Not to crush your "hopes", but it's just your opinion, a single man out of 2 billion people using the internet(and the earth has 7+).

I've been reading about the new forum software for many years now. For the amount of money theymos has received, he should've whipped it up 50 times by now, and also hired a team to help.

The human brain is really good at finding patterns, sometimes too good for it's own sake. I'm afraid you are seeing patterns where there are none and this is just a random sequence with no meaning.

I can definitely see what OP means, I suppose in the future there would be more miners and thus the risk of a double spend would be lower and 0 conf would be more common.

Of all thefts and errors that have occurred with Bitcoin, bc.i holds the #1 spot in theft related issues.
Theft under BTC 1000 doesn't get you into the first 30: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=83794.0BC.i is still to small to make it to the list. This wasn't about number of bitcoins lost, but number of people who lost coins one way or another.

Since I'm an Atheist, I suppose it would be improper for me to celebrate it. As would the Jew as well.

Doing a quick search on OP_RETURN, this seems to imply that yes, the bitcoins(0.0001) are lost forever.

I kind of feel the whole KorraXAssami thing was too rushed with little to no background. I am not against it, it's just that only at the very end was something implied.
