321  Other / Meta / Re: Altcoin Wallet Board In Alternate Cryptocurrencies Needed - Why Admin Sleep ? on: September 12, 2023, 10:45:48 PM
Although this is Bitcointalk, I'm not hostile to altcoins. We already have very big altcoin section. Alternate cryptocurrencies board have enough subboards to fulfill needs. In fact, altcoin boards were used more in the past. The usage rate has dropped significantly in recent years. So it would be pointless to wait for new boards to be created.
322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 10, 2023, 10:55:53 PM
First set was easy for Djokovic but what a great second set we've just watched. Long rallies, no breaks and finally Djokovic won the set again. He's a beast from the net.
It's very hard for Medvedev to turn the game after this but I don't think he'll give up easily. He'll try to stay in the game. Great final game so far that meets expectations.
323  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 Bitcoin will be $173,566 before November, 2025 on: September 10, 2023, 08:40:02 PM
You're right, maybe because i have never experienced a bull run is the reason why i think it's difficult, i can't wait to experience it and see for myself how profitable the market gets. I have not followed the past prices and how Bitcoin rose in the past but since i joined, the movement have not been smooth so it may be why i think it is not achievable.

When the bull run arrives how do i know we are in the bull market and not just bitcoin price rising to fall back again after some time.

If the value of your portfolio* increases every time you renew it, when you start looking at new house and car prices on sales sites, you are wondering which luxury stores to shop at, you will understand that you are in the middle of a bull market. Grin Trust me when that time comes you will know it.
(Only if you have a loaded portfolio, so you better start preparing now)
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH's Endgame on: September 10, 2023, 08:12:46 PM
What do you think? Is the endgame for ETH approaching? Will it be possible for ETH to become decentralized again? Or is it already too late?

ETH has been an overly centralized and untrustworthy coin ever since they rolled back the chain. It has distinguished itself among altcoins with the possibilities it offers, but it has never been reliable. There is also no benefit in switching from PoW to PoS.
I'm not sure if there is an end game here. Coins can survive without being decentralized. They can maintain their functions even when majority of coins are in certain people. Even if they aren't reliable, they can still be traded on the exchange. ETH will probably be around for a long time.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Father of Ethereum's X account got hacked on: September 10, 2023, 06:52:53 PM
Twitter is full of scammers. People have to be aware of that. You see Free NFT, then you see it's coming from a verified account and you connect your wallet, then boom your wallet is wiped. It's that easy for scammers. These scammers use phrases such as limited edition or for a short time to quickly attract more victims, that way people connect their wallet without verifying.
I don't understand how Vitalik can be hacked so easily though. It may be something else involved in this scam.
326  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 Bitcoin will be $173,566 before November, 2025 on: September 10, 2023, 06:17:23 PM
I know bitcoin can work wonders but going that high in such a short period seems impossible to me but let’s see how it goes.

I've never witnessed a bull run or ATH period where the price of bitcoin has risen so much

well we did do 4k to 68k which is 17x

so 15k to 255k is 17x

Those who have never experienced a real Bitcoin bull market may think this is difficult, but when those days come, they will be surprised at how quickly the price rises. The most exciting times for me have always been the days when the bull market rose very quickly. It's exciting to watch the portfolio suddenly become very profitable. But we also worry about where we should exit. Everyone wants to get out at the top, but only a very small group of people can achieve it.

I believe 173k prediction is quite achievable but I won't be surprised if that won't happen.
327  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin and get rich quick syndrome on: September 10, 2023, 04:42:17 PM
Bitcoin is not designed for you to get rich quick. Those who made big money on Bitcoin are early believers that took big risks. Although the idea of cryptocurrency is very interesting, it wasn't known 8-10 years ago whether it would be successful or not. People believed in it and invested and earned. It doesn't make sense to expect to get rich doing the same thing right now. Bitcoin is already widely accepted. You can make money by investing in Bitcoin, but the era of buying Bitcoin and waiting a few years to get rich is over. When Bitcoin reaches $1 million, its value will have increased only 40 times.
328  Other / Meta / Re: Too Many Forum Boards - Outdated Threads - Let's Delete Boards on: September 10, 2023, 12:25:13 PM
There are many unused boards but there is no reason to delete them. Press and Meetups section used to be functional, they are no longer required. Maybe they can be moved to Archival.
Just because the Important Announcements section isn't used doesn't make it unnecessary. On the contrary, it's a good thing we don't use it because it means there is no emergency to announce.
329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 09, 2023, 11:58:59 PM
I was not expecting to see a player like Harry Kane talking like this about his last team Tottenham while he was playing there for years and they knew him as a legend in Tottenham, but after Kane joined Bayer Munich he totally changed his mind about Tottenham and whole Premier League.
He said in Tottenham it doesn't matter even if you lose some games because you didn't lose a lot there, but in a team like Bayern Munich they always want you to win and even if you wi bad results the players are unhappy.
I was not expecting to see Harry Kane saying these about Tottenham at all.

What's wrong in these words? In Premier League nobody expect Spurs to win the title. Grin In Germany things are different. Even though Bayern won the title 11 years in a row, people still expect them to be the champions every year. Spurs lose to Brighton wouldn't be talked too much but Bayern to lose Mainz for example would be in headlines. Imagine Kane to miss a penalty or one-on-one position in that Mainz game. He should feel the pressure more, Bayern is very different than Tottenham.
330  Economy / Economics / Re: To afford personal education or a property? Where to allocate funds? on: September 09, 2023, 11:00:00 PM
The answer to this question varies depending on where you live and the culture. In my country, education is largely free and if your grades are good enough you can study in good schools. However, there is no guarantee of finding a job after graduation. Unemployment is very high in the country and there is a big race even among qualified people. Real estate is a commodity whose value is constantly increasing. There is a huge inflation in the country and one of the best ways to protect from this is to take a loan and buy real estate. So, while the answer to the question may be real estate investment in my country, it may be education for example in the USA.
331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 09, 2023, 10:44:44 PM
Twist in prediction of who was going to play in the finals with Djokovic.

Carlos Alcaraz against Novak Djokovic, Not Daniil Medvedev against Djokovic. It is going to be tough not easy to pick the winner between both players, But I say Djokovic has a better shot at it.

What do you mean? Alcaraz lost to Medvedev in semi final. The final match will be between Djokovic and Medvedev.

Odds for final game: Djokovic @1.41, Medvedev @3.25

Odds may change in different betting platforms but more or less odds are like this. I'd say Djokovic in 4 or 5.
332  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bnb after next 5years on: September 09, 2023, 09:45:03 PM
It depends on how successful Binance remains. Many leading exchanges have been attacked, hacked and somehow disappeared from the market over time. Binance has been operating well for many years, but we can't know what will happen in the next 5 years. The pressure from the governments may increase, even if you trust CZ, something may happen to Binance for reasons beyond his control, there may be a problem for BNB if not for Binance. We can't know this in advance.
Buying BNB at $200 and keeping it for 5 years seems like a risky investment. We can send an e-mail to futureme.org to look at this thread again in 2028. Smiley
333  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Pray For Morocco on: September 09, 2023, 06:54:14 PM
Sorry for Moroccan people. US sources say 6.8 but Moroccan sources say 7.0. Either way it's not a small earthquake but number of death looks too many for this kind of earthquake. I heard it's the biggest earthquake in Morocco in the last century so they may have been caught unprepared. If there are many buildings that are not suitable for earthquakes especially in rural areas, this may have increased the number.
There are many earthquakes in our country. Even though we are better prepared, we have many losses in these earthquakes. I can feel their pain. I hope everything gets better soon there.
334  Other / Meta / Re: censoring foul words. on: September 08, 2023, 09:05:36 PM
This has been one of the most frequently asked questions on my local forum over the years. Free speech is not something people are used to in my country. They have always been accustomed to censorship by an authority, or they have practiced self-censorship on other platforms. It's very difficult for people to get used to the environment here.
Which words are foul and the limits of trolling are completely subjective. I don't think it would be beneficial to limit them as forum management. This forum has helped me a lot in terms of protecting free speech. If I don't swear, it's not because I can't, it's because I don't want to. But it's nice to know that I have the freedom to swear. It would be sad to see this place turn into Facebook, which starts censoring everything.
335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 08, 2023, 08:41:54 PM
Right now Djokovic is playing against Shelton the Semi-final and ... more or less there are no issues for the serbian player that is leading 2 set at 0.
Despite the US player is not playing bad, there is difference between the two players and probably the odd pre-match @10 was "well deserved" Roll Eyes

Nole passed first two rounds without using much of his energy. He'll stay fit for the final if he can finish the game in third set.
I didn't follow the game closely because of our national football team match but it looks like there's nothing exciting. Nole is having one of his most comfortable games in semi finals.
336  Economy / Reputation / Re: If someone is a proven liar, do they deserve to be given negative trust? on: September 08, 2023, 08:24:12 PM
If someone got negative trust for lying, the trust rating of the majority of this forum would be in the red. It's not correct to use the trust system in situations unrelated to trading in this way.
It has become annoying that the trust system has been used for personal ambitions rather than trading in this forum for a long time.
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance removing support for BUSD on: September 03, 2023, 11:47:47 PM
BUSD go, FDUSD come, FDUSD go, XDUSD come... It doesn't really matter to end user as they are all stablecoins with 1:1 backed real USD.
If you aren't in a coma and are following the market, you can exchange your stablecoins for the new one without losing any value. It's not a big deal I suppose.
338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: September 03, 2023, 09:45:20 PM
If Barcelona get to play against teams like Madrid with what I'm seeing I think they won't survive Real Madrid, if they can't beat Osasuna then it will be hard for them this season.
Things can change from one game to the next. Barcelona wasn't very good in this match because I didn't see them playing calmly, but I believe El Clasico is a very different match. I can expect Barcelona to be able to beat Real Madrid this season even though Real Madrid has been in top form so far, but that could change for many reasons.

It's not the best comparison though. Playing against Osasuna and Real Madrid are completely different things.
I didn't like how Barca played today. They should've been more productive. Lewa doesn't look like he's concentrated in the games this season. The red card and penalty saved them. It could've been unnecessary two points loss. Xavi should use international break to fix problems.
339  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 03, 2023, 08:12:46 PM
The winning goal came late but I was sure they would win the game. This Arsenal is way better than Manchester United. This was the first big game of the season and Gunners got 3 points, now I'm waiting for Spurs game. I believe Everton game will be easy. It's nice to see Gabriel Jesus score again. This team needs him. And a special shout-out to Ĝdegaard, he's there whenever you need him. One of the best transfers of Arsenal all time.
