It seems to me that before you contact with such projects, you need to check their audit reports. Some companies are doing this quite successfully. Smiley
Yea.This is very good decision. You said abot companies. What do you mean,do you know any?
Actually this looks like one piece of shit spam bot conversing with another piece of shit spam bot.  Fake "conversations" a new low.

We need to ban all paid signature campaigns in order to remove all financial motivation for this crap.

In fact, at this point, I would totally support just turning off all the signature functions.  No signatures anywhere.  No financial motivation.  Problem solved.  We get back to being a community of Bitcoin enthusiasts instead of a forum overrun by a total shit storm of fake posts.

What is the issue with applying your code to oclvanitygen instead of vanitygen? From what I understand you're unloading a pre-determined list into RAM and checking to see if any match, right?

Also, i LOVE the name haha Smiley

Vanitygen/Oclvanitygen is trying to generate vanity addresses.  LBC is iterating over private keys and searching for Bitcoin addresses that contain or have contained Bitcoins.  They are working on two very different problems and require very different code.  Since Vanitygen uses random private keys and LBC increments the private key LBC can use a much faster an more efficient algorithm to calculate the public key.

I'm not complaining, but honestly that doesn't provide much clarity. New secret method coming maybe soon, and next airdrop in March except maybe if one guy changes his mind.
Looks like a complaint to me Wink

For those who are interested in having access to their BitcoinGold. Trezor just released tool to allow doing that (updating Firmware is necessary), details can be found on their blog.
I saw that!  So, I am off to update all my Trezors...
325  Economy / Economics / Re: How and why to hold bitcoins in your Roth IRA (yes, you can do it today!) on: November 20, 2017, 10:20:53 PM
Holding BTC whether in an online wallet or hardware wallet is a  good idea and will grow to reward you if you are patient enough and let it in bitcoin  for a year or even more but keeping it in a roth LLC will definitely attract some tax component and you should be ready to pay.
The reason to put your BTC into a Roth IRA is that then there will be no taxes on the gains.  So you "should be ready to pay" what exactly?  Why did you go off about online and hardware wallets?  Are you just a posting bot?  If so then I hope you die a horrible death (for a posting bot).  If a real person then WTF are you talking about?

I tried to use BitcoinIRA.com.  I went through all the paperwork, moved all the money from my T.Rowe ROTH IRA to them and got ready to buy Bitcoins.  All of the sudden they said they would not do business with me because I had traded on LocalBitcoins.com and they have a policy of not doing business with anyone they can show has done business with LocalBitcoins.com.

So I got all my money back.

I then went to Broad Financial and they are great.  I am so glad that BitcoinIRA.com turned me down!!!  Broad Financial is a much better deal:

1) The flat fee at Broad Financial is less than the percent fee I would have paid BitcoinIRA
2) At Bitcoin IRA they hold the private keys to the Bitcoins, with Broad Financial I hold the private keys to my Bitcoins and they have nothing to
do with them!
3) At BitcoinIRA you can only buy Bitcoins and a few other cryptos.  With Broad Financial I can hold ANY crypto, gold, silver, stocks, bonds, pretty much anything allowed by the IRS.
4) With BitcoinIRA you must use their one broker to buy the cryptos.  This is the broker that will not do business with anyone who has ever traded on localbitcoins.com.  With Broad Financial you buy the cryptos (or gold or whatever) using checks in the checking account of your IRA which you have access and control over.

There is no question, Broad Financial is the better plan.

Would it be possible to use LBC for personal purposes, ie without connecting to the LBC servers?
Try asking that in an LBC thread.

For example here:  https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1877935.0;topicseen

Anybody dealt with any of these 3 bitcoin IRA custodians for their investment? https://goldiraguide.org/top-bitcoin-ethereum-ira-companies/

Wondering about Broad Financial's flat rate model? Is it legit? Is it even legal to go invest through a checkbook control LLC?

Thanks

So far I have had experience with Bitcoin IRA and Regal Assets. I would recommend Regal Assets and their Regal Wallet program. They have a unique cloud + cold storage option for big investors, requiring a minimum of $10,000 investment.

I have heard good things about BitcoinIRA.com and they are relatively new as a company, but they are located pretty close to where I am here near Burbank, California.

I'd say you can't go wrong with either of these two IRA options if you are looking for a safe cryptocurrency investment for the long haul.

How calcul checksum of address ?
See https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Technical_background_of_version_1_Bitcoin_addresses specifically step 7.
338  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Matching public key with directory.io - why so difficult? on: November 19, 2017, 02:45:11 PM
the addresses are they really random or say that we could find an address of the type "11111" every X private key?

Are Bitcoin addresses random?  You tell me:

The private key is huge random number.
The public key is therefore basically a random point on a huge elliptic curve.
The public key is then hashed, this creates a random number based on the random point on the curve.
The result of the hash is then hashed again, creating a random number based on the first hash.
The result is then hashed again creating a random number based on the result of the second hash.

Finally the result of the third hash is encoded into an ASCII string starting with 1 or 3.

Do you see now?

You can search for "vanity address generation" here on the forums.

Vanity address generation:

Let's say I want to find a Bitcoin address that looks like this "1BurtWxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"

Code:
1 Generate a random private key
2 Calculate the public key
3 Hash the result of step 2
4 Hash the result of step 3
5 Hash the result of step 4
6 Encode the result of step 5 as a Bitcoin address
7 Compare the first 6 characters to "1BurtW"
8 If the strings do not match go to step 1

Else you have found one of the almost infinite number of private keys that happen by chance to have "1BurtW" as the first 6 characters of the Bitcoin address.

I did this years ago.

Here is the result:   1BurtWEejbnKeBRsvcydJvsNztB1bXV5iQ

NOTICE that I have the private key and the Bitcoin Address so this is a valid Bitcoin Address and I have the private key so any Bitcoins sent to this address are "mine" in the sense that I can spend them - since I know the private key.

Here is another possibility:

Code:
1 START with the ASCII string you want, for example 1BitcoinEaterAddressDontSend
2 Calculate the proper checksum f59kuE
3 Add it to the end and you get 1BitcoinEaterAddressDontSendf59kuE

Notice that this is a valid Bitcoin address in that you can send Bitcoins to it and people have, to the tune of 13.1251233 BTC (!)

https://blockchain.info/address/1BitcoinEaterAddressDontSendf59kuE

However, in this case, the private key is not know, for all practical purposes it is impossible to find the private key, the private key will never be found so these 13.1251233 BTC are lost forever.

Back in the old days when it did not cost anything to do a transaction and Bitcoins were only worth a couple of dollars each I actually placed one of my favorite poems into the blockchain, there to reside forever.  Here it is:

Code:
11When1DieBuryMeDeepLayTwoXVEY5jv - (Unspent) 0.00000001 BTC
11SpeakersAtMyFeetAPairofXXTyrHor - (Unspent) 0.00000001 BTC
11HeadphonesonMyHeadAndXXXXYUSvnd - (Unspent) 0.00000001 BTC
11ALwaysPLayTheGratefuLDeadWdq4Xo - (Unspent) 0.00000001 BTC

As noted above the private keys for these addresses cannot be found, ever, so these 0.00000004 BTC are lost forever.

Two more interesting points:

1) If you take any Bitcoin address, for example 1BitcoinEaterAddressDontSendf59kuE then, by design, there is not just one possible private key that will give you this exact Bitcoin address.  There are approximately 296 = 79,228,162,514,264,337,593,543,950,336 different private keys that will give you this exact Bitcoin address!  Even though there are that many different private keys that would allow you to own and spend the 13.1251233 BTC at that address it is, for all practical purposes, impossible to find even one of them!

Blows the mind, right?

2) Very long vanity addresses have been found.  Here are the records.  Note that the private keys for these addresses are known by the owners because they were found, by chance, by generating trillions of random valid private keys and then checking the Bitcoin addresses calculated from the private keys.

339  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Large Bitcoin Collider (Collision Finders Pool) on: November 18, 2017, 03:24:07 AM
Its of course not 60 page i meant at 60 field! 6XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX!

Due to the respect of that human i cannot post that privatkey if he  use it again, never knows!!!

I personaly think this is planeted by someone who used same mathematic as me.. very special numbers . Becasue i found it in 2 clicks.  and i did not enter random numbers !! I copied the numbers from my 2 different sites ... i used the same algo with other numbers and could find more results. but all of them used and probaly planted for their research!!!
must say it was a nice feeling since i used diff softwares before and never got any result..  but manually with special tech i got it , and i got it FAST!  But im still not worried about my bitcoins... IT is secure and not little.. ITS very much secure!  BUT, nothing is 100% secure in this planet , but one thing that all of us will die one day and its pretty sure and secured death without comeback! Smiley)))))))

Now to one thing: ANYONE who also have controll over thoose 2 addresses : 1DfDSBE9A7osGE18Be5bNtWPyc7VEuouN9 , and 1BLdu9kTpojFYrpEcmDC59EwMUVCN2dayV ...  If u have them tell me how u found them!  Its not by directory in this case.. but in one another way!!! I think someone else also have control over them and got them in the same way as me !

So, you are claiming that you have an "algorithm" that managed to somehow use "special numbers" you found on two web sites and quickly pick pages between page 600000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 and page 699999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 that have used addresses on them?

Unless your algorithm is:

1) Find a private key posted on the internet
2) Divide the private key by 128
3) Add one to the result
4) Go to that page

then I do not believe you.

BTW exactly how many used addresses have you found using your algorithm?
