321  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Importance of internet speed to mining on: December 31, 2014, 02:44:49 PM
I have had this question in the back of my head for a while now.

How important is internet speed to mining?  Do I need a fast connection to get a bigger payout?  I have both FIOS and TWC here and want to put all of my machines on the TWC but don't want to lose anything in terms of performance.

What's up?

Latency is way more important then connection bandwidth, you should always choose the pool which is closest to you for best result.
322  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Best pools to mine with Antminer S4 on: December 31, 2014, 02:42:54 PM
Can someone please provide a list of pools that work with Antminer S4?

There are a lot of pools that work with antminer, actually any bitcoin pool is able to work with it.

What you need to look for a good one which is stable and cool Smiley As for me, I prefer ghash the most, so far they are the most reliable in term of lantecy speed and stability.
323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SignatureCoin (SIGN) | ANONYMOUS | X11 | Free Signature Distributions! on: December 31, 2014, 02:33:04 PM
This coin is pretty much hopeless now as dev is away, someone create another signature coin (you can name it Signature 2 coin) and make it weekly giveaway? So its not so time consuming and easier to manage.

I would want to do it but don't have the coding skill Sad
324  Economy / Services / Re: [PrimeDice] (Staff Only) Earn Bitcoins Simply By Posting on: December 31, 2014, 02:31:01 PM
And now loads more people will check the thread and be disappointed when they find nothing. You don't need to post that you're waiting for something. It's pointless and just encourages more unnecessary spam and clutter in here. Just have patience and wait for Stunna to post more info himself.

Stunna is probably busy enjoying his new year Smiley, he don't want to launch it in a rush and someone exploit the system while he is not around.

325  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am finally buying on: December 31, 2014, 01:53:10 AM
Cheesy and 2016 coming ... with the mining reward divised by 2.

 Grin ...

Which is really good as less miner dump bitcoin thus price increase. Which is even better if you hold Smiley
326  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Can you mine with an xbox or wii? on: December 30, 2014, 02:39:22 PM
The only way I can think of for mining on xbox or wii to be worth while is to have a coin that is exclusive only for wii or xbox, then it has a good potential.

But the chances of someone coming out a way to exploit it is too high.
327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Power companies should mine bitcoins on: December 30, 2014, 02:36:46 PM
A lot of grid is wasted during off peak times. Energy is stored or sold in inefficient manners. Instead, they should use any excess energy in mining bitcoins to sell. Rather than raising electric rates, they can increase their customer base. Their price discovery will be the electricity/btc pair. They can choose which will be most profitable. Storage can then be bought by customers for their needs based on rates. This just seems more efficient than being forced to sell to only one market.

Actually, I think its more profitable and better for ASIC manufacturer as compare to power company to mine bitcoin. Power company can do other related business like selling battery.

328  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Please say where can buy cheapest rigs? (Electricity usage doesn't matter) on: December 30, 2014, 01:36:09 PM
Hi I've found a few ways to get renewable electricity from my 4 acres here in the middle of nowhere, using gravity and the ground, i just have to buy a few parts and assemble them, or how can I build a mining rig where electricity usage doesn't matter? If I wasn't so poor right now I would buy the higher end ones that are easily searchable for but I figured if I go a little further it might pay off alot, im trying to get into bitcoin mining before all the corporations get smart and take up all the mining power.  Thank you for your time

Even if you have renewable electricity, I am pretty sure there is a limit right? Buy S5 from bitmaintech as it is currently the most energy efficient and you can put in more S5 compare to other non-power efficiency one.
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [Cancelled] AntMiner L1 for sales $5/MH/s ships in December on: December 30, 2014, 01:17:46 PM
Sounds like the 115% for S5 is the best, anybody getting 105% refund instead of this?

The pain relief is just god like..  If you have a sore throat do yourself a favour and drink green tea.

Try honey and lemon on warm water, its even better.
331  Economy / Speculation / Re: Prepare for a new big drop. on: December 30, 2014, 12:55:31 PM
Too many people sell for new year and christmas, wait for 2015, I expect some small rally on the first week.
332  Economy / Speculation / Re: Damn, any day this should pop below $300 on: December 30, 2014, 12:50:58 PM
I've been watching for the past week as it looks very weak and have been expecting it to break below $300. Damn, any day now it should go. I think the only thing holding it up are highly invested bag holders.

I think a break below $300 will be the start of the capitulation that a lot of bears are waiting for. It should signal just how weak bitcoin is and let people finally know that maybe bitcoin isn't going to just go higher so you can become rich.

I think a new coin will soon come up and replace bitcoin for the #1 spot and this will be a very bad blow to bitcoin. This I think may happen in 2015.

There is a lot of new alt-coin that is capable of replacing bitcoin but no body trust them, people still trust bitcoin because its the first and the oldest. So no, I don't think there will be any alt-coin replacing bitcoin in terms of value..
333  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Antminer S6 speculation on: December 29, 2014, 03:30:55 PM
they better do an min 1000 to max 1500watt, not 2000w. too many amps on 1 cable
add more chips, lower the voltage and make it a bit better than knc neptun, say 3.5th!

I actually prefer to go all the way to 3k watt or higher. If you want to mine you have to go big anyway so cmon, get a new high amp cable.
334  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Say No to Cloud Mining on: December 29, 2014, 02:57:51 PM
Not necessarily every cloud mining company is a scam. For example, ghash.io is legit.

And also hashnest which is from bitmaintech and is also legit. As long as the investor check before purchasing, cloud mining is awesome...
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Sell all your GPUs right now during Christmas Rush! on: December 29, 2014, 01:53:23 AM
Yes but the question is... will mining every be profitable again.

I think we are all better off selling our GPUs but keeping the risers, PSUs, motherboards just in case in the future it becomes profitable again.

I have learned never to say never, at least when it comes to cryptocurrency.  Wink

For mining to be profitable again... BTC needs to rise in value... and even then there is no guarantee.

Everytime BTC rise in value, alt-coin value drop. So no we need alt-coin value to increase then GPU mining is profitable again.
336  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Worn out components on: December 29, 2014, 01:44:06 AM
Hi guys  Grin ! Today I talked to a guy about bitcoin mining. He told me that if you mine your PC will be worn out. But if I use an ASIC Miner will my PC be allright? Both devices will be worn-out or only the Miner? Huh I'm new in Bitcoin business. Sorry if my question is stupid  Embarrassed

most of use use devices that connect directly to the net with a ethernet wire.

an antminer s-3 is around 175-200 usd

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Bitmain-Antminer-S3-453-GH-s-SHA-256-/111546707330?pt=US_Virtual_Currency&hash=item19f8b3ad82

this needs a psu and an ethernet connection to run.  you need a pc to look at it every one in a while and make sure it is running correctly

Not a bad price for 453GHS : "Hash Rate: 453 GH/s±5% with great OC potential" 194$=0.61BTC (+shipping), it should earn 0.1732/month (https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty)

S5 is the way to go now, S3 is no longer worth it. The price should be cheaper per hash for S5 including shipment.

Note: S5 power efficiency is 30% better then s3.
337  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: should U buy 2 S3 or 1 S2 or S5?? on: December 29, 2014, 01:33:30 AM
I just noticed that the S5 comes out in a week or so, since it would cost the same for 2 S3 or 1 S1, I probably should just wait and get a S5....

You already answered your own question, but buy S5 cause it is the most energy efficiency.
338  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Miners from Pakistan on: December 27, 2014, 12:52:26 PM
-snip-

Rite now i am looking for mining hardware's , is anyone sale here in pakistan ?

Mining using current hardware wont give you profit unless u have free electricity. So, either wait for Gen4 chips or try some very low cost cloud mining.

Some cloudmining companies are able to provide hashrate at a cheap price, because they are running a ponzi. You should be careful checking the site before buying a mining contract.

Well, hashnest.com is pretty legit and the price is really low. 0.0007 per GH/s. I think its really worth buying it.
339  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5 power suply on: December 27, 2014, 12:36:48 PM
Hi. I just ordered Antminer S5 from batch 1. Here is the specifications:

Specifications
Hash Rate: 1155 GH/s ±5%
Power Consumption: 590 W (at the wall)
Power Efficiency: 0.51 J/GH (at the wall)
Rated Voltage: 12V
Dimensions: 298 mm x 137 mm x 155 mm
Cooling: 1x 12038 fan
Operating Conditions: 0 °C to 35 °C
Certified By: FCC / CE
Network Connection: Ethernet

And my question is: What power suply should i buy to fully use 2 of these on 1 AC? Im mineing a bit but im still newbie in AC suplying.

Full page about this miner : https://www.bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=00020141222080420665NM851L7d060D

Greetings.

The minimum you'll want is a EVGA 1300 G2 for 2 S5's (pending that Bitmain's specs. are correct), but if you can find a higher wattage PS for the same price range then you might consider going bigger...

It will be cheaper to buy 2 small power supply, 650 watt each. Unless space is a problem for you I say 2 power supply is better.
340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining coin on: December 27, 2014, 04:14:12 AM
Hello guys,
I started mining a long time ago and i still have my gpu ( asus 7770, 750ti)
I want to start mining again ..... my electricity bill is not high

I want to make some profit

Thanks

You can start mining right away, nicehash.com is a good place. The most profitable algo right now is neoscrypt.
