They could (as we've seen in multiple countries) and I think some should be banned simply because of their scammy nature.

Each of them has their own pros and cons, of course.
But IMO FB is best for just reaching the most amount of people possible. Twitter for general updates. Telegram/Reddit for community interaction and so on.

Governments are busy putting new laws together to regulate cryptos. Beware that some coins could be outlawed: I am not going to name the coins but there is a strong possibility anonoymous coins could come under attack by regulatory authorities. Solution: Put www.Bitcoinfuji.com in your portfolio: compliance beyond expectations: 10 cents ICO now If I were the government I'd start by banning this crap you just posted. Oh how happy I'd be to see all the scammy ICO/airdrops gone.

Sweet dude, looks amazing!
Good luck and keep ups updated.

Not financial advice here, but I would certainly do more research on the ICO, understand the project and the tokenomics, make sure I like the concept, team and potential before considering any investment. I will also check out many review sites like crushcrypto.com and youtubers' views as a reference. Eventually this comes down to a few picks and then I will distribute some funds accordingly. My current favorite is Hadron and Swapy but you might have complete different choice. Bearing in mind the high risk of ICO in general as well, even a great team might not make it in the end, but at least I know I am investing in something that's I really like
Yup, you can never be too sure. I gues going with ICOs done by already established companies is a good idea. The Telegram one, for example.

I think we have to add one point regarding the team, they should be seen in video as episodes or in the meetups. Team's profile must be updated in LinkedIn
Agreed. You need to be able to look them up on most social media as well and see their past projects. This sounds like doxing but at least you'll know they're legit. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Buy a bunch of coins, go to sleep for three years, and come back to massive wealth! ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) If only it were that easy... ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) But there is some truth in that, if people were more patient and decided to hold more, they'd probably make a bigger profit.

Of course, I'm hoping for the best but I imagine this can go horribly wrong.
Also, Russia had a lot of problems with corruption before so I'm not too sure about this regulation right now.

Neither one.. ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) I'm a freelancer for work (marketer, blogger, social, community manager) And a crypto-junkie for the rest of my time (trading, investing, hodling) A lot of my freelance work however, is for big companies, but I'm a contractor rather than employee.. I think that's the better approach, especially compared to doing it full time.

I think Waves, bitcoin cash, ripple are some pretty good choices right now.

Well, on the bright side, there's nowhere to go but up now... ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Hello im newbie, some of my friend teaching me of this kind cryptocurrency. can someone teach me to have a huge profit of cryptoworld by free? im a poor so i want to take time in this world
If only it were that easy ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) What I'd recommend is focusing on other ways of getting money first (jobs, gigs, remote work, etc.) and then try investing a little bit to make a profit off of that.

Greetings to everyone! There is a pretty new anonymous cryptocoin which has a huge potential and is currently at a low price. It has 21 bilion max supply, which is 1000 times more than Bitcoin and the block generation is much smaller in time. The transactions are sent in seconds and validated in just a few minutes. It brings stealth by the zkSNARKS algorithm, being a proof of work (POW) coin, currently based on EQUIHASH. So it is ASIC resistant. Is called BitcoinZ and is inspired from ZClassic. Here is a video about it and an interactive explanation of the zkSNARKS algorithm: If you have some free time, please check it out. https://youtu.be/3hVG888tOpYI would like to hear your opinions on it. I think that it may have a great feature, because the community is dynamic and they want to improve the technology. I also heard that they want to add smart contracts. Have a nice day! What's wrong with bitcoin 1.0? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Nothing wrong but people need the iconic name Bitcoin to create a new coin or airdrop, fork etc for marketing purposes. Unfortunately this is a highly effective marketing technique can't erase that. Instead of new shits like these everybody can contribute in the development of one Bitcoin. For what it's worth, I don't think many "gimmicky" coins will survive in the long run. Stuff like weed/pot coins, kfc coins or whatever and so on. They're purely an attention-grabbing name and seem super gimmicky.

Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: do your research on it to see what makes it so great (whitepaper, the tech, etc.).

I think I have started to say no to the ICO investment this year. I'm not demotivating anyone but I had major loss in the last year so I'm keeping my hands clean this year. I would probably choose the coins which are already listed on the blockchain and they are making good market reach.
I do keep info of different ICO today as well but not sure about putting my stakes over it.
I want to stay away from most ICOs this year as well but some of them actually look pretty good. Will have to do a lot of research just to be safe though.

Anyone have a link to the whitepaper/roadmap?
|
|
|
Generally, I think it's safe to say that most altcoins are better for the short term and the bigger ones (eth, btc, etc.) are for the long term.
|
|
|
It sounds good on paper but could be easily abused.
Or it could just be the exact same thing as the trust system. Might go either way.

If you haven't heard about it or tried it yet, give it a shot. I have waited anywhere from 15 minutes to 24 hours for transfers on LTC or BTC. It took 5 seconds to transfer and receive my NYC. It is mind blowing. http://newyorkcoin.net/ Thank you Kristi for starting up the New York Coin thread. The fastest coin in the market, no fees, used worldwide. Can’t beat this coin. Let’s make $NYC.X great again.
Okay. Zach here for ficco and nyc. Let’s get more exchanges
Santana in the house. We need this exchange. NYCoin!! Lets get it.
Making threads full of altaccounts sure isn't going to help the coin, it's just making it look bad. I'll just paste the link of the original thread made for this coin: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2016963.0 Thanks for the link. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) This thread seemed really suspicious.

Interesting... ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) I'm not sure if I'd be willing to invest in that but it's interesting to see how big it gets.
