Well, I faced a moral dilemma and would like to ask for an advice...
FrictionlessCoin created a thread dedicated to NEX (descendant of NXT). I had a lot of fun reading that thread but I suspect some people took NEX seriously. The problem is that if FC waits till April when Nxt source code becomes completely open, he still won't be able to generate a valid genesis block, coz Nxt uses a crypto algo modified by BCNext (this is why we collected 10 BTC for the audit). I support all cryptocurrencies and would like to help him to create a new genesis block, competition is good for the whole crypto-community. But this could look not very good to guys who own NXTs...
What would u do?
My take. You, BCNext, and others have created something innovative and powerful, and you need to respect your shared creation. Additionally, many people have bought into your vision and staked hefty amounts of very real capital, time, effort, and care to make this new invention into something that the rest of the world values and uses. Of course we all have profit motives at work, but we also have a sense of pride and emotional ownership of NXT because of the many people like yourselves who are contributing to this project. A product is not just the source code and market share; it is the people who come together with a shared vision to make something new and good. So, someone else comes along and wants to poach your (and others') creation simply because he fails to appreciate how the initial seed was planted. You aren't under any obligation to render assistance. You can support competing cryptocoins (and I think you should) without buying into false criticism. FC claims to be motivated by a sense of fairness, but he has no moral high ground. He is here to extract value at the expense of others, not to add it through effort, innovation, or risk. He is merely an envious interloper who brings nothing genuinely new to cryptocoins. You are, of course, free to make your own choices of projects and allegiances. Just remember that many people are here because of what you, individually, have brought to this project. Those of us who have spent significant money (like me) and time, talent, and effort (like many others) will wonder whether you truly respect your part of this creation if you can share with a poacher the code that has come into existence through so much of your own effort. If you believe in NXT, fight for it.

I'm in!
But it would be even more fair if you pay me for them. (My BTC account is in the signature. Thank you in advance for making me rich for doing no work, taking no risks, and spending no money.)

Anyway where i can find NEX wallet to test?
That's just cruel.

Read the thread... some guy is working on the algorithm as we speak.

I don't understand. Why is it more fair to distribute this coin to people who happened to see this thread and post on it, who didn't do any work, didn't spend any money (fiat, BTC, etc.), or take any risk?
Do you actually believe that the majority of NXT initial holders paid even a single satoshi to own their millions of shares? You didn't answer the question. What about this coin - the thing that you are signing your name to - is more fair, good, just, or however you want to think about it, given that you are rewarding these early adopters in this random way? You use that word "fair" a lot. So how is it fair, if some people just stumble upon this thread with their hands out?

There is quite little difference between 21 BTC (200$ - 400$ on Sep / Oct prices) and forum posts amount.
That's because there has been a hell of a lot development and implementation since the initial creation of the block. It's called "capital appreciation," or "sweat equity," and it means that the value of the product is increasing because it is becoming a more robust product through the efforts of developers, who are augmenting the functionality, as well as marketers, and various other support people and mechanisms.

People paid for their NXT. That was fair.
With Nex, anyone can create multitudes of accounts and get more Nex. Don't tell me that you're going to base distribution on account history either. Anyone that knows anything about this forum, knows that there are many accounts with long histories that are controlled by ONE person. Also accounts are bought and sold routinely.
I'm sure the OP controls many accounts with long histories and will claim the majority of the NEX for himself if he gets people to support his scam.
It's not really a scam. It's a lot like a religion, actually. He charges nothing for this vaporware.

I dont get it. Where is the difference to NEX? Yeah I know there are 3 Billion more coins. But that´s all. you copied the announcement completely from NEX, or NEX copied your announcement. wut, wut The difference is that NEM is made from recycled drinking straws and smells like honeysuckle.

You're all in the genesis block, don't worry.
The ME.TOO genesis block is actually a lot like Noah's ark, so there'll be enough ME.TOO coins for every creature on the planet (that includes insects, bacteria, fish, birds, mamals - the lot).
ME.TOO is free, and everyone must get some to keep every species happy (ME.TOO is not just for humans you know!!)
We can always add a few trillion later on. Value is not the issue here. Keeping everyone happy is (otherwise they might start another clone and spoil the party).
You do know what kept the lions and tigers from eating the deer and gazelles on Noah's Ark, don't you? Nothing. They ate 'em, alright. Noah just got LOTS of deer and gazelles. There's a lesson in that, but I'm not sure what it is.

First NEM giveawaysThis is The First NEM Giveway. Since we don't have the genesis block yet. The giveaway will be in NXTSay I love NEM and post your NXT address here you will receive 5NXT --- on one condition you cannot post in the NEX's thread. NEX is the NXT's bastard child and NEM want to distance NEX from NXT and NEM. So you cannot post in NEX thread and receive the giveaway. This condition will be checked Funding is limited. So act fast Hahaha, Chief don't you think your rules are kinda harsh, NEX inspired NEM from what i can tell and i was told all crypto-currency are fighting against corrupt government not with each other. well; this is my 6019410306759877072 I love NEM In other words: "Cover your bases," to paraphrase the eMunie guy. Not a bad strategy. But the best strategy is to do what you're told by the guy with the bag of money. And that's why... I Love NEM! In fact, I just edited my post over on the NEX thread to say so.

So damn interested I can't stand it.
But really, I love NEM! And ME.TOO!

Who is FrictionlessCoin, and why does he make everyone's hackles go up?

I just want to post on page 1!
Oh, plus, "interested" is the code word, I believe. But I already wrote that in the NEM thread. Can't you just copy my posts from there?

word of advise: if you dont want this coin to be ruled by the give away thread spammers, weight the giveaways by activity * average_post_length. Then do a quick check of their post history to make sure they pass the turing test.
I'm interested. But I don't want to take any more tests. Unless they involve lifting heavy things. I can lift heavy things. No spelling test, though, please.

I share the concerns of zavtra, Catswold, R-T-B, and others about where this coin is going, if it's going. I feel like we're being held hostage. And I wouldn't bail out if there were a hard fork in order to resume development. My concern, however, is that no one knows how to develop the mixing service that is crucial to the identity and uniqueness of this coin. If it were relatively easy, it would have been done already. Isn't the value of this coin basically Artos's mixing service, after all?

I remember using 0.52, then 0.55 and today I just upgraded to 0.58.
Sorry, r3animation. 147k was stolen from me several weeks ago due to the rogue client. I feel for you, my friend. Fortunately, the perpetrator was tracked down, and much of the stolen NXT was recovered by RickyJames. This is a community that takes care of its investment and investors, and takes any breaches of security very seriously, if any of you new investors are reading.

Awwwwwwwww shit! Did someone say, "beta testing the mixing service"? Very exciting stuff now.
