I don't understand. Why is it more fair to distribute this coin to people who happened to see this thread and post on it, who didn't do any work, didn't spend any money (fiat, BTC, etc.), or take any risk?

word of advise: if you dont want this coin to be ruled by the give away thread spammers, weight the giveaways by activity * average_post_length. Then do a quick check of their post history to make sure they pass the turing test.

The distribution problem is HUGE across all cryptos right now and if we solve that we can really change the world.   In a way we're stuck in a classic prisoners dilemma and just need to find a way to cooperate so that a system is widely distributed.  It is better to own 0.1% of a system valued at $20 trillion than to own 15% of a system valued at $100 Billion.  We only hit the  $20 trillion valuation when billions of people have skin in the game (like with the USD) and that by definition requires a wide distribution.

Please, count me in. I am interested in the FrictionlessCoin's NEX project. I found out

NXT was an attractive system, but I later discovered it had an arguable initial distribution

of all coins at once.

I think that encouraging wider distribution will promote the utilization of coins, which

should be the object of existence, not being held by a small number of people and piling

up a huge market cap.

Although the distribution problem may never be solved fairly, I think that NEX is one of

the promising candidates that deal with that problem better.
