http://mag.newsweek.com/2014/03/14/bitcoin-satoshi-nakamoto.html

"It's been turned over to other people. They are in charge of it now. I no longer have any connection." << sounds like his invention taken over by US Government or other evil group/government.

or even the core dev team. Imagine that.

any proof the core dev is not sponsored by a gov't??

thought so.
322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If that really is Satoshi, how can we help him? on: March 06, 2014, 03:18:06 PM
Yeah, why don't you go and bodyguard him. You owe the man your existance.  Roll Eyes
323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi's Daughter Says Her Father Distrusted Government on: March 06, 2014, 02:18:51 PM
Sounds a little delusional but I have seen worse ramblings on this site.
324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: **Breaking news** Satoshi Nakamotos identity revealed on: March 06, 2014, 02:07:40 PM
Boycotting that site 100% forever the "reporter" should be ashamed.

+1

If she doesn't lose her job after this would be even more of a shame.

What did she do to lose her job?
This is news, man. People write what the masses want to read.

Open source software = open source lives.
You can't escape it.
326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Track stolen coins??? on: March 05, 2014, 05:53:51 PM
Bitcoins cannot be stolen.
Private key can obtained from someone's machine but nobody can claim sole ownership of a private key.

Get tracking coins out of your head. It will never happen.

It's guaranteed to happen in cases like this.

You track the coin and then what? You can't prove anything...

Both seek public/mainstream acceptance.
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Goxcoin: New project to compensate victims of Gox and restore confidence in btc on: March 04, 2014, 05:52:10 PM
Sounds like a pump coin.
330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So... I just spent all my paper IOU notes. My life's savings! on: March 04, 2014, 02:30:43 PM
Don't buy gold or bitcoin, buy scarce non-renewable resources instead.

Get yourself a barrel of oil and store it. You'll be a billionaire in 30 years.
331  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It will be quite a simple way to destroy all the possible bitcoin exchanger on: March 03, 2014, 05:29:00 PM
People who receive coin in a lawful exchange should not care where the coin comes from and be punished by having their coin taken away.
Once you start forcing people to verify the origin of the each and every coin they receive, it's all over for Bitcoin..
332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it safe to say we survived the Goxxing? on: March 03, 2014, 04:02:40 PM
Survived as a collective but the individual sacrifices were great.
The people who gambled and lost knew the risks. They'll come back stronger.
333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Solve this riddle on: March 01, 2014, 03:27:16 AM
It is (supposedly) most likely at XXX, since the client will use old coins/transactions when sending 5 BTC from XXX to YYY.

So, this means it is client dependent?
I'm not convinced that this the proper way to trace "my coin"
334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Solve this riddle on: March 01, 2014, 03:23:42 AM
Not sure if trolling but maybe it is educative to the one or the other:

I'm not trolling, just speaking in terms that most people on here use to simplify the situation.
335  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Solve this riddle on: March 01, 2014, 02:39:08 AM
Suppose I have 1 BTC.

I send my 1 BTC to an address XXX that has a balance of 50 BTC.

Next, 5 BTC are sent from XXX to YYY.

Where is my 1 BTC now? Does XXX or YYY have it?
336  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Great News!: Federal Reserve Chair: US Central Bank Can’t Regulate Bitcoin on: March 01, 2014, 01:02:07 AM
This is a huge win for cryptocurrency.
And great news for the people who will be fighting MtGox on their own. It's a small price to pay for the common good, so take it on the chin guys.
337  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How viable is Bitcoin with Satoshi + MtGox theif holding 2 Million BTC? on: February 28, 2014, 09:13:11 PM
The fact that one exchange holds close to 1 million or 1/21 of all BTC is scary in itself.

But hey, don't let people tell you that Bitcoin is centralized.
338  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tracking a BTC Transfer on: February 28, 2014, 07:56:22 PM
Its not trackable

What are you saying? BitCoin transactions are perfectly trackable, unless it was a shared transaction, or the coins were mixed...

Bitcoin transcations are trackable, Bitcoins themselves are not trackable unless you're lucky (coin is sent to empty account and no transactions occur on that account afterwards).
339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Oh, I can't believe a magical, made up currency didn't work out" on: February 28, 2014, 07:25:41 PM
Bitcoin will get kicked around until people can see that it will earn them money again.

Bitcoin wasn't created for earning someone money...

Satoshi is turning over in his grave when he reads this stuff.
340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: what can we do about Mark Karpeles now on: February 28, 2014, 06:16:23 PM
