321  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] YinCoin YangCoin ☯☯ RELAUNCH First Ever POS/POW Alternator! Multipool! ☯ ☯ on: May 21, 2014, 02:40:14 PM
Guys the distribution is not official yet i have received a couple applications this will need to wait. There is another question i added to the apply form.

Once the dev post the new thread it will be open to send your answers for now do not send anything.
quick question about the distribution then if that's okay Smiley : shouldn't the people who already own Yin/Yang receive a bonus ? It's not very interesting for investors who are in since the beginning, and currently still holding yinyangs (like me), to see that the currency they have been buying  with their own money is now being spread for free. I kind of have a feeling we are being left out ?

We are not being left out if your going to see it in long term what the OP is doing, like this distribution.
Its being done in order for this community to grow and prosper.

I am also a big investor of these coins and I see it as a good way for promoting.
I approve this move Smiley
Don't get me wrong, i approve it too. I've been selling and buying yin/yang since the start to help the volume on Pol like probably many others, my latest trade was about 20K of the coins (mostly Yin) which i bought for 300 sat. Just knowing that now people (INCLUDING leechers who'll dump and earn a few $ for nothing) get 4k of the coins while I and others have paid $5 or more for that a few days ago. If the coin would sell for that price, there will sure be a lot of dumpers that'll cause a drop in price. So most likely the coins will be worth a fraction of that after the distribution as it is set up right now. I hope you understand my point of view, early investors will benefit way less than new investors since the value will go down a lot. And since all my btc is already invested in Yin/yang, i'm unable to buy any of them cheap, right after distribution. So I (and others who invested before the distribution) can only watch how their stocks will shrink in value and wait a (long?) period for them to get to the same value as it was before distribution. Quite a downside for us.

That's why it'd be great if current holders of the coin would get rewarded for their effort in some way. Right now they're disadvantaged, even when you speak of an increase in value on the long run.
322  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 when? on: May 21, 2014, 12:40:17 PM
the marketcap is currently about 7 bil. even if the price doubles, big holders will earn massive money and most likely dump before it would actually hit 10.000 usd. don't expect it to happen soon, we all know the effects of these dumpers
323  Other / Off-topic / Re: Quit smoking on: May 21, 2014, 12:35:02 PM
i know some people that stopped with the help of a book. have no idea what book exactly (and it was dutch) but maybe try to look for one in your own language that has some good reviews from quitters ?

also try to look for all the health problems they cause, there's so many reasons that can help you reconsider smoking on the internet Smiley
324  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New to Mining - Need some Recommendations on: May 21, 2014, 12:30:15 PM
Minerscube is a scam, you can try an s1 but i warn you that it won't easy to achieve ROI, unless you have free power

Yea, I understand!

Seems like mining for BTC is very difficult these days, even if you do it in a pool.

I'm still interested, just not sure if I want to mine BTC now.... maybe something else would be worth it??
really depends on where you live and how much you pay for electricity. I'd recommend altcoins, preferably a new one with an active dev.

326  Economy / Economics / Re: Would u pay in bitcoin? on: May 21, 2014, 12:08:10 PM
My question is if u see something u would like to buy and this item is offered at a lower price if paid using bitcoins, providing that you don't already have a wallet or coins would you take the time to set up a wallet and buy bitcoins just to be able to receive a discount on the item u wish to purchase?
I believed atm most people would not bother and pay full price,
WHY IS THIS SO?

because first of all, people who are not familiar with bitcoins, have only heard of them in a negative way most likely.
secondly, are there that many (well-known) merchandisers that offer a cheaper price when paying with btc ? (including exchange fees etc)

331  Local / Alt Coins (Nederlands) / Re: Hebben jullie ervaring met Dogecoin? on: May 21, 2014, 11:51:02 AM
332  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Accidentally created a wallet address that someone else already has? on: May 21, 2014, 11:47:48 AM
is it possible to manipulate a new wallet address (read: generate one by yourself and not a random one) by experts ? or is it 100% safe

Can we give a poloniex address for the distribution ?
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty for open source ByteCoin/Monero GUI on: May 21, 2014, 11:40:39 AM
can we mine directly to an exchange wallet ?
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] YinCoin YangCoin ☯☯ RELAUNCH First Ever POS/POW Alternator! Multipool! ☯ ☯ on: May 15, 2014, 06:26:12 AM
I haven't got any experience with actual mining so sorry for the noob question, but if both coins are 100% premined what are people exactly mining atm ? How is this possible ?

Are they mining undistributed, premined coins then ? I have no clue how this works so if anyone could clear this up for me Smiley
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] YinCoin YangCoin ☯☯ RELAUNCH First Ever POS/POW Alternator! Multipool! ☯ ☯ on: May 05, 2014, 03:50:30 PM
Stick to your plan to get the coin on that other exchange. People will see potential in this coin now that it's still fresh, expand now so people will see this coin is alive. Yinyang's old concept died before, so let this phoenix rise from its ashes. Bring it to the public now so everybody can follow its improvements. You've got a brand new concept unlike all other new coins, i truly believe in its potential and i rarely get that impression. So let's get some action into it!
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][GTC] GUARANTCOIN on: April 25, 2014, 01:05:33 PM
Get yourself a real, trustworthy certificate that can prove you're registered for legit distribution.

Right now you're asking 1 BTC for 2.000 GTC for investment. Your exchange gives you about 5 grams of gold for that, worth about 0.5 BTC. So obviously no one is ever going to exchange the coins for gold, until the point your coin starts dying and hits the gold value. That's the point you guys will disappear together with the gold exchange, right? Hard to believe you will be sending gold when the coin starts dying. Unless you can prove, by an official contract, that you will keep the exchange without a price change for an X amount of time, but that will never happen.

Clever though, you got inspired by the current bank system i suppose ? Giving people money you don't actually have in the valve, and in crisis time when the people want actual, paper money instead of numbers on their bank account, you go bankrupt and leave the people with nothing. Too transparant scam if you ask me.
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FairQuark | FRQ | CPU Mining | 4% Fair Pre-mine | Get in NOW! | on: January 30, 2014, 07:42:32 AM
Hello everyone!

Unfortunately Bitcointalk moderators decided to ban all giveaways on altcoin forums. This is the reason why the giveaway threads have been locked.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=434310.0

Twitter and IRC giveaways are still active!
Could you please explain what happened with the pre-mine ? You said we can track it here http://finder.fairquark.com/address/qLSALnUEFuBR5tjFudfHJx9SR3qAcfR2oY but it only says there are 7 transactions out ? I don't get that link...

And what's up with the http://mine.fairquark.com:8372 pool ? I mined there and didn't get any coins, while I did get coins on all other pools. People say it's a scam pool, i'm starting to believe it is, and this coin too ?

Give us more transparency please...

nice ! thanks for this
340  Economy / Gambling / Re: Win free Bitcoins every hour! on: January 29, 2014, 10:09:26 PM
To make it fair (the hourly game):

1) generate a digit ranging from 0 to 9.
2) make the system do this 4 times (so it generates 4 digits seperately in 4 steps, instead of generating a 4-digit number in 1 step).
3) the 4 digits together now for a number 0000-9999 (number 10.000 would be gone but number 0000 could be used as jackpot).

Use 1 Server Seed Hash (SHA-256) and 1 server seed per game (so not per digit, but per 4 digits) but do make 4 different client seeds (1 for each digit) per game. So all the 4 digits can be generated using the same "key", just using a different client seed for each digit.

Also, the client seeds should be generated in a way that the client seed of one digit will not influence the generation of a client seed of a next digit for that same game, ofcourse.

And if possible, give more transparency on how the calculations are exactly done. Hashes converted to numbers, how it's done. By not knowing the server seed before the game, there's no way that would cause any harm i suppose ?

What i typed here is ofcourse still not 100% proof of fair play but i still have my doubts, like many others, on how the number is currently generated and there are possible ways to manipulate it in order to never (or barely) hit the jackpot. This 'method of generating' i wrote is still absolutely NOT legit or finished to be used, but might be a start to a provably fair game that makes people more certain they play something... fair. Hitting the jackpot right now just doesn't look like a 1/10.000 chance. Who can tell anyway? I'm not a scripter but i hope, in case you truly want your game to be provably fair to everybody, you will use a system like this and have a game where every number created, has an equal 1/10.000 chance of being created. And if that means the jackpot should contain less money for you to make some profits, that's fine by me. We all understand you can't give away more BTC than what the advertisement etc pays you, and respect a fair cut that goes to you in proportion to the work you put into this. Yet don't forget about the people making this happen for you :-) some more transparency would be very appreciated so we can all enjoy this game even more without questions being raised!
