Current difficulty is 7042400.964355485. Really? Didn't check, but it must be multipools. Well, it's not affected by multipool. Maxcoin is not finding any blocks for a day. So, I calculated current block's difficulty to see what the matter is. "difficulty" from console's getinfo command is not current difficulty but previous block's difficulty. This 7042400 is current block's diff. Someone with big hash attacked KGW's difficulty change logic and maxcoin is stuck again. We need some more time to breakthrough this difficulty. As hashes go away, maybe this difficulty could be unsolvable forever if immediate hardfork is not implemented.I fully agree to your idea. Even Startcoin uses Digishield. Why with buggy laggy KGW until now?

The currently difficulty is at 5 million due, we believe, to a failed timewarp attack. We will be re-enabling ACP once the blockchain begins moving again, which will be an estimated 5 hours, to mitigate from such an attack. If the attack persists as a DDoS we will switch the re-targeting algorithm for something more robust.
Something more robust is really needed. Digishield, Dark Gravity Wave v3.. etc.

very unstable difficulty, very low yield.
Any thoughts on whether the time is now right to turn Maxcoin into a purely POS coin? I don't think pure POS is good idea. Maxcoin is most well known coin is Keccak algo. However, the difficulty re-target algo. should be changed for smooth operation. How about Digishield? KGW is too old and buggy. At this time, the thinking is to incorporate as a startup company and raise venture capital to help fund the project. Nick has some connections in the VC world. There might also be a SolarCoin 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization which could raise tax-deductible donations, pursue grant funding from charitable foundations that care about renewable energy and the environment, etc.
This is amazing stuff if this happens! Two thumbs up!

This coin wants to grow to be a 'real world coin', one that has some real usability and adoption among merchants. Here's a suggestion...
Take a look at the Square or Paypals mobile credit card payment systems and build a system similar to that for IO. Give IO's mobile wallet a way to create an invoice, add tax, send receipts via email or text, let seller send invoices straight to the customer's wallet and have the wallet store receipts, label purchases and offer data in a usable form for taxes (tax write-offs like gas, office supplies, hotels, travel expense, etc).
Basically, build it for businesses and not just customers. Businesses will need these tools to really make adoption easier.
I could not agree more! That's exactly what I/Ocoin is working on. The ability to be able to create Invoices, add tax and send receipts via email or text, once this is in place it is a very easy transition to real world adoption! Very god post! Thats exactly the type of posts we are looking for! Send me your IONS name and i will send you 200 iocoins! PS: if you do not follow me on twitter do so now! @pixelperfecti0n MY IONS: Max-io

Mac wallet works so far so good.

It's Monday. Block# is heading to 305000. Please release wallet for hard fork.

|
According to people on Maxchat.info, Mac wallet is proved to work fine. Please release it. The application works but the dmg is broken. We're working on getting this fixed at the moment. It will be released as soon as it's easy to use - if we release it now we'll be inundated with people claiming that it's broken and asking us how to use it. Here is solution for auto popup DMG. DMG should be read-only. http://prntscr.com/4mec9q

... can we get on with some max coin talk ? Such as any progress on the wallet update ?
Let's keep this thread positive. Whatever anyone thinks of the developers, they are real, accountable people - a rare occurence in the cryptocurrency world. They have a wallet issue to remedy. Let them get on with it. Some of us want to keep up with easy, accessible progress rather wade through masses of quotation-upon-quotation, amongst which vital news could be obscured. Yes! Everything looks fine except wallet issue. Let's be positive.

Yes,my wallet can't sync either,i just can't figure out what happened.Dose the dev alive or can someone help me fix this situation?
Try the "resetcheckpoint / getcheckpoint" combination followed by letting maxcoin-qt re-sync as described at http://maxcoinnews.net/maxcoin-0-9-2-1-release/Worked for me. Also, here is my complete maxcoin.conf: # Seed nodes addnode=maxexplorer.cloudapp.net addnode=max.suprnova.cc # Enable RPC server=1 rpcallowip=*# RPC information rpcuser=<my rpcuser name> rpcpassword=<my rpc password> # Mining gen=0 par=2 enforcecheckpoint=false that part i underlined is a severe security vulnerability and will allow the public to rape your ass for coins. do not EVER use that command in your conf --> rpcallowip=* Please explain. That command is included in the default maxcoin.conf which is supplied with the Linux source code for every version to date, including the present one, maxcoind/maxcoin-qt 0.9.2.1. If what you are saying is true, then the developer is leaving every Linux user wide open to attack. *edit* Oh, OK, I see what you're saying. If someone could take control of my router, theoretically they could send a transfer command to my wallet. Not likely given the type of router security that I have. But I can see your point. check out this changelog for Jackpot coin.. see part bold underlinedCHANGELOG V 1.5 (1) Coin split rule changes minimum time before coin split : 2 days maximum time for non-split the coin : 7 days maximum coins for non-split the coin : 100,000 or 1/64 of balance

The dev on this coin has been busting his ass all along since the coins launch writing code. no MIA vanishing act for 8 months or something cough cough.. Max Coin and the guy has a lot more in the works too ! anyway he did that RPC security update a while back for a reason.. some Jackpot users got hit for coins and it's happened before on plenty of other coins and anytime i mention it i usually get people mouthing me off saying duh.. and it's so common sense i should not have even said it. well you guys just showed me it is in fact worth saying LOL what happened in the JPC incident way back was, (so we heard via rumor i guess) is that some hacker guy had simply collected the IP's from the wallet an easy trivial task then he simply started trying to connect to them.. you can test your own wallet via your browser with the IP/Port too eh and from there i dunno.. maybe he just started trying the default user pass combo's until he hit pay dirt.. not sure. but there is no time out on password attempts i *think. So a guy could kick back and brute force it as long as it takes until he has access. and from there coins get stolen.. again i don't know how exactly or what ever but i do know it's been reported and confirmed by a lot of guys. funny thing is i never even heard of the wild card thing until the jackpot coin wallet update LOL i always just used localhost ip (127.0.0.1) an old school loopback address ..be safe guys Thanks for inform. I edited my conf file according to your advice.

I updated to 9.2.1. First time I couldn't sync.
So, I did -reindex -rescan. I typed 'resetcheckpoint' on console window.
Reindexing took about 3 hours. (I slept during that)
Now, I wake up. I found that my wallet sync.
+1 Wallet 9.2.1 works fine for me Yes it work fine, the serious bug was in the 0.9.2. But there is still a problem with the sync on 0.9.2.1, it will sync as long as it stay open after the reindex. Close it and reopen it i'll be stuck and stop syncing. Yes, I found it too. After Closing and reopen, the wallet was stuck and stop sycing. The minor fix should be released soon.
