there is a point you missed, new asic can mine every algorithm, i asked at the companies, not every asic, but some of them can mine all algorithm
Huh

ASIC = application-specific integrated circuit

yes,but as i remind these can mine everthing https://www.hashcoins.com/buy-scrypt-miners/buy-triton-miner/
https://www.hashcoins.com/buy-scrypt-miners/buy-notus-miner/
http://blissdevices.com/shop/neon-mining-card/

so,there will be no asic resistant, prices of x11 and so on will dropp, and will be like asic scrypt
Errr, what?

None of those devices are real. Got anything that's NOT vaporeware?

i mailed with them, and hashcoins are real, i phoned with them, and mailed several times. you can phone too.maybe i will order that
Lol. So what if you mailed and phoned them.
Those products are "under development" - i.e. don't exist.

Go read about all the scams in the crypto scene and you'll see you could mail and phone them. That doesn't mean much. All it takes is 1 guy. No company, no factory, no development team, nada.

People are now able to mine scrypt faster and get more coins, faster than people can buy them. I figured that would happen shortly after the asics came out, and yep,  Scrypt is dead unless you were one of the lucky ones who could afford one right off and got it right away... now it will be like BTC mining, the hardware you buy now wont have any type of return on it.
Huh
This is just wrong.
ASIC doesn't make a coin being mined faster, you should know this as a sr.member.

What ASIC does do is centralize the coin so that there are less people involved -> less community -> less potential investors and an inevitable price lose.

BTC is the exception to the rule simply because it has so much fuckin' PR it's unbelievable.

No they can't.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution. E-SPORTS BETTING TEST WENT LIVE! on: July 05, 2014, 09:25:16 PM
So after a few days of talking, I got us the first streamer to accept Minerals as donations.

He is small (for now) and also new and I reckon he can go big.

He is called 'dog' and is a highly ranked Hearthstone and DOTA player (ended up rank 11 legend last season in HS and has 5.4k mmr in DOTA).

Right now he is accepting donation for his YouTube channel and come Monday he'll set up a donation address for his Twitch channel (he wants to keep em separated - 2 different wallets and he'll be back to his apartment to his 2nd PC only Monday).

So show him some love by following, subscribing and donating to his YouTube and Twitch channels at:

www.twitch.tv/hsdogdog
and
www.youtube.com/hsdogdog

Addresses for donation (that's only for his YouTube channel for now):
Minerals:
MWnDq3xrnJSrf1MjQawBnAaJjYF7qgdZPW
Or BitCoin:
13yt5haj1JoAL2KGi2Tk68UdgNidi1h88c

I might be able to get more streamers as well, can't say for certain right now.

Awesome job! Donated him 100 MIN for starters Smiley
Please ask him to place this image at his stream page

He should also add his MIN address below

We will be setting up a tipbot that will tip a streamer for showing this image and a MIN wallet at his stream page depending on how many viewers watch the chanel. The tip would be 0.1 MIN per hour for each user who is watching the channel. So if 1000 viewers are watching the channel at the time when tipbot checks it, the streamer will receive 100 MIN. Tipbot will recheck number of viewers in an hour to tip again
I will, but he can only do that Monday when he's back to his apartment.

Please suggest what tournament should we coincide the testing time with.
GSL. New season starts July 14th I think so you got about a week and a half.
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: July 03, 2014, 02:52:50 AM
don't feel bad I unloaded 7500 at 3k early on, seemed good at the time and I am strict about covering mining cost budget regardless of what ever coin I have to sell, sometimes it was a good move to sell for expenses and other times not so good as with MIN, but? it somehow usually all washes out in the end Smiley but like you I kept the majority in my wallet.
I take comfort in the fact that 1. it was a sound decision given the alt coin scene, and 2. I still got the majority of my coins Smiley
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: July 03, 2014, 02:12:21 AM
If this coin ever gets to 10$ I'm gonna retire from life.

i think you mean "for" life??

retire from life mean commit suicide LOL

maybe he mined a huge bulk of them and sold very cheap. That could be a reason
Nah, sold some I at lower price I admit, just to make sure that if this coin does crash I won't come out empty handed. Left the majority of my coins in my wallet.

Well, English isn't my native language and where I come from translating it as I did means "for life". So long as you understood what I meant all's good.

If you take a good look at the market history... someone puts his buy order up... and when its filled its being instantly added too the sell orders again for a higher price... making him a 0.001/0.002btc profit each time... irritating little booger Kiss
That's how you margin trade...
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: July 02, 2014, 03:58:14 PM
really slow climbing, never seen a thing like that, at this rate it will take several weeks to reach 20k lol
Usually you see a pump that lasts a few hours but this coin is on the trend up for the past 5 days already.. Haven't seen such a thing with an alt coin in a while.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: July 01, 2014, 11:26:00 PM
I have no idea whats going on here  Huh   a bit of a mix up with data and links

http://crypto-coins-table.com/coins/MIN/Minerals.html
Green is trading volume in BTC and blue is the price of MIN in BTC

They got all the descriptive data wrong though... it's not scrypt, it's not call minimalist.. I wonder who runs that grade H website.
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: July 01, 2014, 10:41:03 PM
coinler,

you seem pretty intuitive.... check out this coin launched about 4 days ago. I have been mining the piss out of it. Its Scrypt-N-Fixed. Its just got listed today on Comkort.com exchange.... will take time to grow no doubt, but I'm rather impressed with it so far. Wallet seems solid, payouts from pool smooth and sending coins and the confirmation is fast.

From what I can tell it has anonymous features but not referred to as such like "anon" per se. I may attempt to PM allcoins.com and give them the heads up about it, but want someone to take a good look or even the code and make sure all as is as it seems. Its a very plain Jane coin nothing fancy ... but seems unique.
It reminds of as almost a fair distribution coin, in that it was only to be mined on 3 pools from what I can tell, b  twith no hash maximum etc, of course we are talking scrypt-N too lol, so max not really needed in this situation.  Ok LMK  just something I like about this coin,,,   Smiley

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=607348.0

EDIT: or anyone else see what ya think? maybe good to mine or invest in and buy MIN, that's my hope lol
Sorry, but it looks completely retarded. There's absolutely nothing to that coin.

All those feature means nothing if there's no target population, no niche.
Where's that coin heading?
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS. Fair Distribution Cryptocurrency on: July 01, 2014, 07:40:12 PM
About what time do you guys expect the betting feature to be implemented?

1-2 days if all be ok
Yesterday Dev said, 2-3 days

(2-3) - 1 = 1-2

did not even want to comment  this

The math is strong with this one.
338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: .1 BTC if you can get me mining at the BEST rental place TODAY. on: July 01, 2014, 06:11:14 PM
Ok, heres the deal. I want you to show me where to go, get me up and running, and show me how to switch to whatever coin I want in the future. And I will give you .1 BTC.

I quit my job and just trade right now.

I do ok, but now I want to get ahold of the coins I like before they get to Bittrex. I want to get a jump on thebprice. I know which ones to pick fairly well. But even by the time I get to one of the bullshit tiny exchanges, Im still paying the miners who come there to dump.

I just want to have the coin myself.

All you got to do is show me where to rent, set up all the stuff to get me off ground, and leave me with directions as to how to switch. I will probably do something wrong when I swith the first time, maybe not.

Im the type of person that learns quick when I see it done. I learn by watching the best, not reading directions that, just go along great until I get to the damn step, and the option or step I.need to go.to next, just isnt there, or I have no idea where to go and what to do at that point.

So once I see it done, I get it no problem. So the first time I switch to a different coin from the one you started out with, ill probably need your help switching the first time. Then our agreement is over.

Keep in mind I want to rent from a place where im not renting a time slot, but the hash power per price unit.

Also, keep in mind I want to rent from a place where I have all the now algo choices, and not locked into just scrypt of whatever.

It's easier than you think...

You can go to BetaRigs.com, choose an algo and hire a rig with the desired reputation and capacity. The rig will be locked solely to you for the duration you chose.

You can also try NiceHash.com - it uses a different approach to renting. You buy GH/s from NiceHash who acts like a pool, you can input there how much hashing power you want to rent, the price you're willing to pay for it and ofc the algo to use.
It's working in a bid system, so as long as your bid (= the price you're willing to pay) is high enough that there enough workers to be assigned to you, you'll get mining going on. Other people might outbid you and take those workers for themselves, but you can always increase your bid price or just wait and work will resume once higher bids are dealth with.

Both methods are very easy, really no need for you to pay 0.1 BTC for anyone to guide you through this.

Let's show community strength and activity!!!

Keep voting!
https://www.mintpal.com/voting#MIN
Bad idea.

Let's show community strength by NOT voting it into mintpal.

Mintpal is where coins go to die.

Cryptograveyard.

I don't understand why you're so insistent on this. If a coin is strong on it's own merits like we all think MIN has the potential to be when the development comes through, how could a single exchange 'kill' the coin?

Sure, bad coins have gone downhill after being listed there. But is MIN one of those coins?
It's because right now MIN has nothing to offer on its own.
Lots of speculation - sure.
Lots of potential - sure.
Good niche - sure.

But what utility does it actually have right now? Doesn't. That's why I think MP will kill it.

Once MIN gets its betting going on, than sure, adding to MP will do good, until than it's just like any other coin out there minus the fair distribution.

I want this coin to succeed, that's why I think it needs more utility to it before it gets listed on MP.
That's also why I am working with the dev behind the scene to get this coin more widely accepted within the twitch streamers community.

Actually Coinler some sensible people who hold Minerals are against anon because it makes real world adoption more difficult.  At least think about it.  Also Mintpal is the centre of price suppression, market manipulation of all kinds, so instead of labelling people who actually support the coin as being against it, use your brain and ask why some people might not favour these things.
What this guy said.
I like this coin, I'm holding a pretty damn big bag of it, a lot bigger than Coinler for sure and I'm against pushing it towards Mintpal. If it gets added naturally, than nothing could be done.

Optional anon is the way to go. If you don't like it, nobody has to use it then. Those that do want it, then have that option.

Price suppression + market manipulation occurs on all exchanges. I'd probably argue it's easier to achieve on smaller exchanges (especially if volume is low) than the bigger exchanges. But it occurs everywhere... can't be helped... just depends on how fat the whales are.
It's easier to do it on smaller exchanges, but when it's done on big exchanges its ramification are far more severe and in most cases they mean the end of the coin.
