In the Mofo wallet I start the FIMK server, and then I click on start forging. The status field says that forging has started, but how do I close this popup forging info window? I mean I probably shouldn't press Cancel Or Stop Forging to close it..
There should be a big button that says "Hide" you should click that. What you describe is what an older version looked like. In that version clicking cancel or close indeed closes only that dialog it did not stop forging, only clicking STOP Forging will stop forging. Look here for the latest version. http://mofowallet.com

Mofowallet update
Supported coins and their embedded server versions:
1. FIMK 0.3 2. NXT 1.3.4
The decentralized public API servers can be observed and controlled from the settings menu (Option "Settings / Public Nodes"). It was unclear to users what this functionality is about and required some explanation. It also was too developer centric and required a slight makeover not to confuse non developer users.
Several fixes for the Messenger (available under the messages tab for each account) it now updates after entering your secret phrase decrypting your messages immediately. Fixed the problem where you were required to open your wallet file to decrypt messages (when clicking inline unlock button) now users can have the option to just enter their secret phrase. Changed css and added animations to the inline compose dialog, made several improvements to the composer controller.
Fixed a bug in the central rendering code where message transactions were incorrectly labeled as public key announcements. This affects both the accounts section as well as the block explorer since they all use the central rendering code.
Changed the way inline messages are rendered in the accounts section. Long messages used to be cut off at a certain length, making the list of transactions for an account more compact. Changed this to render the complete message inline, makes the UI less compact but does show you all your transactions and messages in one place without having to go to another screen. Will make things easier for the user especially when we'll complete making MofoWallet compatible with mobile device screens.
Fixed several bootstrap/css issues in multiple places.
Authentication Plugin
Several fixes to the Strong Authentication Plugin, the user landing page now shows debug information for easier implementation. Eventually this debug information can be turned on/off by merchants during their implementation phase. The authentication plugin offers strong proof of identity for merchants that require their customers to identify themselves. The authentication plugin is build ontop of FIMK Namespaced Aliases. The Krypto Fin ry non profit association offers residents of Finland the option to electronically provide proof of their identify using strong authentication and permanently tag their FIMK account as authenticated. This proof is cryptographically signed by Krypto Fin ry and stored on the blockchain. Merchants can request that proof from their customers by redirecting them to the Authentication Plugin in (web) MofoWallet.
The online plugin is beta software and is meant for demo purposes only!

Mofowallet update
Supported coins and their embedded server versions:
1. FIMK 0.3 2. NXT 1.3.4
This is the first major update after initial mofowallet release. Improvements where made on almost all levels.
API Request Manager
The network request layer has been completely rewritten, it is now aware of all active and pending (API) requests. Requests are grouped and can be prioritized or canceled all together, requests are bound to the controllers that started them and are automatically destroyed when the controller is destroyed.
Network requests are executed from a central interval (timer) and is no longer event based. The interval acts as an external agent that can takes action and cancel requests if they either time out or take too long to start (when higher ranked requests take up all available slots).
The number of concurrent requests are set at six for now, this seems to work well while running on localhost and when connected public API servers.
Decentralized API
Improvements are made in the usage of the decentralized API, users can run their own API server and add these to mofowallet. Because of the usage of multiple public API servers synchronization among those servers has to be performed on startup. Synchronizing involves a check if the server is up and functioning and a detailed analysis of the fork that server is on.
Public API servers that are on a fork are ignored for the current session this way not wasting any network traffic.
API servers are required to have SSL enabled and must use a proper certificate.
Embedded Servers
Users are prompted if they want to start the embedded FIMK and/or NXT server on startup, options for each server are available to either start automatically or never start at all.
Users can run both servers at the same time but this does put a higher load on your system. Running the servers is however not required since mofowallet is fully functional when operating on the public API servers only.
Forging
Forging/mining is supported for all embedded servers. The blockchain must be downloaded before you can forge blocks. The forging UI has been updated and now requires your secret phrase to be entered only once, either enter your secret phrase or open your wallet file containing your secret phrase. To see if you forged any blocks for now you will need to look at the amount forged label in the accounts section. Better feedback of exactly what blocks you forged and other info like charts and averaged are under development.
Namespaced Aliases
Namespaced aliases now support encryption. This is the same encryption AES encryption offered for normal messages. Namespaced Aliases can be encrypted so only the owner account can decrypt or where the owner account and one other account can decrypt that.
Asset Exchange
Introducing the initial Asset Exchange UI for FIMK and NXT. UI is read only in this release meaning you cannot enter or cancel orders. Asset Exchange is a work in progress and is suspected to change considerably. Our aim is to offer a professional full featured interface to both the FIMK and NXT decentralized exchanges. We consider a professional UI one that offers traders all tools required to do your daily trading.
Current AE UI includes:
1. historical price charts 2. listing of all available assets 3. display of current price and 24 hour percent change
Planned AE UI additions:
4. in client per asset blockchain based commenting 5. better charting (moving average, candle stick etc..) 6. automatic actions based on blockchain events (this requires the client to stay on)
Better Messaging
Better support for sending plain text or encrypted messages. Message transactions in the transaction history are displayed inline now. If you provided your secret phrase messages are decrypted on the fly and can be seen inline in the account transaction history but also in the blockexplorer.
Startup Service
New service available to all plugins, plugins register with the startup service to do intialization upon application startup. Plugins register so called activities that show progress in the startup dialog, activities can be made to run only after certain other activities have finished running.
The startup dialog can be hidden by the user and the mofowallet is usable from that moment on. If certain functionality in mofowallet depends on an activity to complete it will be disabled until the activity has completed.
Highly Contextual Identifiers
All identifiers for blocks, transactions, accounts, aliases, block heights and more now support mouse events. Plugins can register for mouseover, mouseout and click events. This has enabled everything from the blockexplorer to the account section to be *clickable* and will show you a details dialog in which everything is again clickable.
Bugs fixed
Fixed a bug where sometimes sending a transaction does not immediately show up in your list of recent transactions. This works correct for all broadcasted transactions now.
Fixed numerous performance bottle necks, desktop mofowallet is much faster than the initial 0.3 release.
Fixed the problem of mofowallet constantly sending requests to obtain state from the public servers. The rewritten network layer fixed this.
Fixed a bug where sending a transaction gave no meaningful feedback, on sending transactions the user now sees a dialog that shows transaction creation, signing and broadcasted feedback.

Thanks for actually being interesting in user feedback. This is so much better than other coins where the developers don't ask and don't care. You guys are doing a really good job and I hope you receive my comments below constructively. They are just my opinion. I'm no expert.
1] I think the MofoWallet will be really good, but I am not keen on the name as it sounds a bit like a joke. 2] I can't see the benefit of the all the front page with all the "Power by..." stuff. When I bring up a wallet, I want it to go right into my only wallet or give me a list of wallets to choose from. 3] Can't see the point of having whether the server is running as an option. The less low-level options (in the user's face) the better. Run the server by default. 4] The application flow of "Create account" -> "Existing FIM Account" does not make sense. Perhaps you mean "Create wallet" -> "Existing FIM account"? 5] Make opening a wallet give two options: "Brain wallet" or "Wallet file" Many users actually prefer brain wallet for its simplicity and you shouldn't try to force them into wallet files if they don't like that sort of thing... especially in the NXT community 6] No sure about the option of saving secret phrases to wallet... seems kind of risky. 7] When I click on "Forging" I get a dialog asking me to enter the server URL. In my opinion this is overcomplicated. Why not just automatically have the server running (it is energy efficient after all!) and have a toggle button for forging (on or off). When you switch it on, it asks for your password. 8] I don't care about themes. I think a uniform branded look is probably best. Professional icons, etc. Make it unique.
1] Can't comment on that 2] Agreed it makes no sense in the current situation it is a leftover from an earlier plan on how to present mofowallet. I commented it out and it looks much better. 3] Agreed, also a left over from the dev phase. It was mostly for my convenience during development. Best IMO would be a dialog at startup that asks to start the servers, it explains it will run faster in the end but it will need time to download the chain first. An option to "Always start servers on startup" should be on the dialog and checked by default. The server start process could be visualized in the same dialog shown at startup to show start-up progress. 4] Good point. 5] In mofowallet a wallet is considered to be an encrypted file containing a collection of ACCOUNT_ID+SECRET_PHRASE+DISPLAY_NAME. It seems what you are suggesting is already the case. All dialogs that ask for your secretphrase have the option to enter it by hand or click open wallet and have the secretphrase read from a wallet file, it's a users choice. Personally I use many accounts and I find it extremely difficult to remember those secretphrases so the wallet file really helps me do things quick. 6] The wallet is encrypted plus you store it in a unique place. Users can designate an empty usb thumbdrive for storing their wallet files, only inserting it into your computer when you need it. If that is perceived as dangerous since the file can be stolen when someone (remotely) accesses your computer then consider that an infected pc is already no longer your pc, it simply belongs to the hacker. Trying to protect against that is pointless, you can buy all the locks in the world but if you leave the backdoor open it quickly becomes pointless. 7] Agreed on the compilcated UI it will be reworked. Good point about the energy efficiency makes rethink point 3. 8] I do like themes ![Wink](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/wink.gif) But the default one should confirm to the standards you mentioned. Thank you for the constructive criticism. I can assure you my parents did not use crack cocaine. I'll have to check with the other team members but I would be highly surprised if that was the case.

We are working on a solution for the performance problems of mofowallet. On some systems it works very well on others it's just slow. There is a technical explanation of the problem and the solution here http://forum.fimk.fi/index.php?topic=428.msg2382#msg2382TL;DR In the coming days we'll be fixing mofowallet, problem is that it seems to pile up network requests when on a slow(er) connection. The solution is to optimize bandwidth usage and implement prioritization of certain network requests. The expectation is that it will run much faster even on a slow connection.

A question: I withdrew ~30,000 FIMK (the first FIMK I bought) from DGEX 1-2 days ago to my address FIM-XZXB-V4LF-ZU82-44RPX The problem is the FIMK haven't yet shown up in my wallet. At the time of my withdrawal I was using the client I downloaded from your website. This was the first transfer I have sent to this address. Then I started using the wallet here: https://fimkrypto.github.io/mofo/launch.html The transfer does not show up in the mofo wallet either. To test whether it works, I then sent 2 FIMK from a faucet to my address and it worked, it showed up in my mofo wallet (although I remember I did something called - if I'm not mistaken - "publishing my public key" from the mofo wallet before the 2 FIMK faucet transfer). So bottom line: is there something I might have done wrong and that can be corrected to have my balance reflect the ~30,000 FIMK I sent from DGEX? Or does the fault lie entirely on DGEX and I have to keep pressing them for an answer and to speed up the processing of my withdrawal? Many thanks for your help! Seems like the FIMK is there http://80.240.143.139/accounts/FIM-XZXB-V4LF-ZU82-44RPXDo you know of a reliable online wallet where I can see my real balance? Mofowallet seems to show your balance https://fimkrypto.github.io/mofo/launch.html#/accounts/FIM-XZXB-V4LF-ZU82-44RPX/show (notice the show part at the end - hidden feature ![Cool](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cool.gif) ) give it some time to load, we are working on the performance issues.

Can you tell more about the service you are working on?
It's a paid P2P Q&A site, based on crypto instead of FIAT. We are a few months away from open beta. Thats great. And FIMK is supported too ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) awesome!! Too bad it's just a little bit too early or I could have assisted you in tuning mofowallet to your needs, basically help setup a plugin to assist in your NXT + FIMK administration needs I bet a site like that could use at least some backend/administrative software that could be used for (small repetitive) daily administrative tasks. Even if it's just to verify the work done by the automated parts that you undoubtedly have built. That would have been another perfect testbed for mofowallet plugins. But you mention a few months so who knows where we are with mofowallet then. Keep us posted. The idea sounds promising.

Support for the default client is being phased out and it is unlikely we'll be investing time in that apart from necessary security updates.
I actually appreciate the direction that you are taking with the public key issue and the mofowallet, and other developments (this is the reason I'm patently sitting on millions of FIMK) but the fact remains. You bundled 0.3.1 with a wallet that has no way of sending transactions to an unknown address. At least you could've modified the message in the client to let the users know, that this is not a bug, it's just not supported, so do this for alternative. I'm especiall not happy about this because I'm developing a service that will also accept FIMK and this is a problem as I'll generate a brand new address for every user. No one will be able to use it at the time being, unless they use mofowallet. (Or unless I publish the key myself for every newly generated address, but that is extra development I don't want.) You have a point about the missing instruction. We'll see what can be done. Can you tell more about the service you are working on? EDIT: now how can I be sure that I'm forging in MOFO wallet? It says that I am forging, but when I click on it and then on "start forging", it says "Forging started" but the pop up window does not close except if I press on "Cancel".
Clicking Cancel will not stop the forging it only closes the dialog. The forging UI and UX is on the list of being changed, these first days after launch gave some better insights in how we should do that, I agree it's not as clear as it should be.

Did you guys seriously pushed a release that has a default wallet that can't send to a new address? (public key is needed but there is no field to provide it)
We have a public faucet plugin available in both the downloadable mofowallet and the online version. This links directly to the faucet plugin https://fimkrypto.github.io/mofo/launch.html#/plugins/faucetWe also have integrated the public key publishing for new accounts in the UI of mofowallet there is an extended explanation here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=633304.msg9428841#msg9428841. Finally in mofowallet support has been added for a new address format called a publish addresses. To send FIMK or NXT to an account without a published public key simply add the public key to the address separated with a : symbol. That format is accepted everywhere in Mofowallet. Example: FIM-KXHG-U8SX-XPA9-9GU6V:24e6e437ecbf5c0921d7ac30d37614c6a3689b5ace0a980a995ec8c6463af216 Support for the default client is being phased out and it is unlikely we'll be investing time in that apart from necessary security updates.

How to initialize a new account that does not have a public key?
Initialize, what do you mean with that? When I try to send FIM to that new account. It says it needs a pub key in order to do so. However, unlike the NXT UI, there's no field to input the pub key. How to initialize a new account that does not have a public key?
Send some FIM to other account or register alias (from new account). That's the point: i cannot send to it because the sending client (0.3) complains the new recipient account does not have a public key. yet, unlike NXT, there is no way to input the recipient accounts public key in order to complete the send operation. To send NXT or FIM to an account without a public key you should use it's publish address. This is a new address format available in http://mofowallet.com and can be easily created by appending a : and the public key after the account number. Mofo wallet will recognize this and get the public key from that address. Users with new accounts should click "Receive FIM" or "Receive NXT" to initialize their accounts. This is what you see for an account without public key ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2Ftl6lxFh.png&t=663&c=tpfPHNJaT3mC7Q) Click "Receive FIM" ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FUhgNEK7.png&t=663&c=w6vT7QFdXqRSOA) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FWBuTLkL.png&t=663&c=Q9ngI8FGwyBLdw) Click "Help me out" and you get ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FN7Ybu7F.png&t=663&c=hCkaQTaprCfx8A) Or click "I know what i'm doing" and you get the publish address ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FbVoC2yT.png&t=663&c=c5gCIZjTdFQELg) Click on all the "What is that" and "tell me more" links for further instructions. For accounts with a public key clicking "Receive FIM" (or NXT in this case) will simply give your address. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2FMj5wGyO.png&t=663&c=U91jFykljx1OGw)

Could someone explain to a person who is not very familiar with NXT, how do you update the old wallet to the new mofowallet?
And I also noticed, that after I updated jre7 to java 8 the old wallet isn't launching anymore, it can't find java.
I'm using Windows 7 64bit.
You don't need to update anything. The downloads on http://mofowallet.com are self containing meaning they are simply a folder with in it some libraries and a single executable (called mofowallet.exe) you run mofo by double clicking the executable. You should take where you download the zip file and you must unpack the zip file (google for "Windows unpack zip file"). The downloads for windows are not yet available as an installer for which it doesn't matter how you do anything. For those it's just Download -> Execute -> OK -> OK and done. Mofowallet is not available as installer (yet). Something must have gone wrong with the update to java 8 FIMK and NXT (which is now included in mofowallet) don't care for java 7 or 8. There is this https://www.java.com/verify/ not sure if it helps.

I have a 27 inch monitor I can read your text perfectly fine when written in normal font. TY.
You have probably hit the fork at block 96248. I've hit that fork myself a couple of times. Very annoying, there is a fix for it in version 0.3 (as you can see in the public wallet and the other nodes) but 0.3 isn't out for a couple of days.
So.. Until 0.3 is out another solution is if you replace the fim_db folder in your installation folder with the one I PM'd you the link for and you'll be able to forge on your local machine.

I don't want know the explanation, only want to know how to forge immediately again.
Download the latest release for main net which is 0.2.2 https://github.com/fimkrypto/fimk/releases/tag/v0.2.2 and run that. The 0.3 version is not out yet but it makes no difference when forging.

Can't Forging!!! ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) click not forging button-- start forging---unknown account Version 0.3 is currently being tested and part of the test is running it on the public wallet. The message Unknown Account is a little cryptic but it means your account is not whitelisted to forge on that server. There is a more detailed explanation here: http://forum.fimk.fi/index.php?topic=408.msg2191;topicseen#msg2191

i am on fork as well solution didnt help ,cant get past 96249
In the post they say to wait 10 minutes before reconnecting. You could try to completely shutdown FIM, delete the fim_db folder, wait for an hour or so and then reconnect. Other peers are probably blacklisting you because you are on the fork.
