Hello,

Is there any way to open the wallet without writing the secret passphrase ? Like in "read only" mode?
As each action on the wallet need passphrase, it should not be a problem, and better, prevent keylogger utilisation to steal passphrase when there is no reason to write it.

You can save your passphrase on email,or text file, and just copy/paste it Smiley

I have been around since the early days, and I'm still holding. Still have every BURST I ever mined. I would love to help out with anything I may be capable of assisting with, just let me know. I have time, GPU's, and HDD...

Awesome! Any special skills or favorite things to work on?

If you can code - code something that uses burst, or enhances burst or whatever.

If you can hack sites together, figure a site that uses burst, or helps burst users or whatever.

If not, try to help getting more people to know burst, and thus hopefully getting more people to use burst.

guerilla marketing : Figure the strengths of burst, and then very politely and in a non-spammy way, mention burst in discussions on the net, where the topic is related to something burst can do, or can solve.  For instance, if you have ASIC and GPU mining experience, you could dive into a discussion about how futile it has become to mine scrypt , and then tell the story about how you sold your 10 GPU's, bot some harddisks, and have been mining burst with a ROI of about 4 months.. or whatever...

never just pop in and say burst is the thing... be helpful, provide solutions, make sure the readers feel they were lucky they read your message.

Get live on radio shows about crypto's and talk about burst

help your local business that already takes bitcoin to also take burst

sell stuff for burst

Find a bunch of environment geeks in some forum and tell them how much more environmentally friendly burst is, compared to asic and gpu mined coins.

Test the burst wallet software very thoroughly and create issues in github with bug reports.

Go to the local bitcoin meeting and discuss burst and its merits and perhaps pitfalls

Every time you get paid at work, spend 1% or 5% or whatever % you can afford, buyng burst

go to all the exchanges that doesn't yet have burst and vote it up. Also vote it up on any other kinds of altcoin services where it might not yet exist.

Help newbies in the forum to get going in a friendly and constructive manner

imagine how cool the new car will be, when you sell some burst for $1 a piece in a few years...

Very nice post!

I try to help all newbies,to get them on board,or train...Whatever...We are going to leave solar system and whole galaxy -  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0vxOhd4qlnA   Grin Grin

We need to make PR team from small groups, who will seat on exchanges and trolling about new way of mining. And like you said-"I sold my GPU's,because GPU mining is dead and isn't profittable. Now I bought 10 HDD's,and make good money on burst.

I will be happy if someone will like to make PR on trollboxes with me.If you want, you can pm me at any time.

Also I like to help all newbies. If someone has questions about mining burst, you can pm me at any time. Smiley

Still interesting that the volume is so low at exchanges. They are selling little or none. And even more interesting, what would happen with the price if/when they were selling?

A half a dozen of whales can crash the price down to 1 sat atm, looks like we'll have soon a new kid on the block. As for the profitability - rented VPS would be probably bad news - it means they have enough capital to start pumping the market for a final dump and let the P&D carousel seen in other pumpcoins spin out of control in their favour. So I'm actually a bit relieved the market is in standstill now.

There are more cheerful explanations. Some of you may know I've been shopping for investor to realize what dev has been promising in rudimental fashion - actual storage "powered" by BURST (in reallity, gaining edge over competition thanks to mining BURST). So here's the plan - start a classic cloud-dropbox, service which would also mine BURST. You dedicate X TB for clients, but they dont usually use it all, basically rent the promise they can start using it anytime they want. Then, one just deletes plots to make up free space as necessary.

It may be possible someone beat me to it, but there's a catch - there's not been announcement of that service.

PS: I'm still looking for investors, I'd like to do it in fiat (signed agreements, shared incorporated ltd etc), DEX asset would be supplemental at best, currently there is not enough market depth to raise capital for anything worthwhile.

I can almost guarantee you standstill, also watch price even right now plummet like really fast (I am rarely wrong) I feel its too early for your proposal as I sense clones coming to the market next year.. idiot doing what he is doing right now will experience negative cash flow

wanted and discussed with few possibility of BURST being included in the supernet... that would be big.. but this idiot is causing havoc, if I would not any better based on the market price he is trying to take BURST out of the picture in the preparation for a clone now if that is the case I am changing word idiot to sophisticated but unethical

idiot has added more storage drives Today also, rest of you might as well stop mining
May be that was TIMK225,who finaly found the way,how to start mining burst Grin Grin Grin LOL Grin

This coin call my attention, im reading how this work and from my point of view the dev is doing a great job.

PoC is just a new idea and i start to love it Tongue, i just buy 2tb external hdd to start mining it, do you think is enought for a good start?

i will try to use this miner -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=731923.msg9696842#msg9696842

with the poolV2 config, i will post the results as soon as my new hdd come Wink

I will keep and eye on this thread and come back more often!!
You are welcome to community!Well...2TB will be enough to test POC mining at the moment. With current diff you will get about 1000-2000 burst/day and you can forget about solo mining.I have found 0 blocks solo in 5 days with 16 TB.If you need some help, you can PM me any time.

How many people did think like you, when price of BTC falled down to 2$ from 30$...You did try to develop firecoin, and after one fail, you think -it is no worth to fight...You are looking now like these guys, who sold their BTC's at 2$...It is allways worth,if you know what you do.
Aaron, you know what you do,and I know, what you know what you do.And if you will have feeling like your project is dead, try to read "Seagull Jonathan Livingston" of Richard Bach. You don't need to listen to all these people.Even if you will think, what you are alone, you need to understand what you are above others, and you can fly much higher like others, and only this is the reason why you fly alone...I believe in you,and your project, but right now we need to think, how to get more people to this project.

Like you said,we don't try to manipulate with price like others, and this must be the reason, for all new community members to join us.There are so many scam coins these days, and lot of noobs are loosing huge money on these scam coins,we just need to show them who we are...
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CATc] CataloniaCoin · Start Building your socio-economical future·Wallets on: November 26, 2014, 08:39:15 PM

LAST HOURS UNTIL THE SWAP!

Please Introduce your CATc in C-CEX, within 24 hours we reach the 45000 block and swap old coins for the new coins

Due to technical problems at C-CEX has been little time to make SWAP. We are studying how they can change the old currency for a new after SWAP for those who for whatever reason have not been able to do it time. But if you do not want to wait let your coins in C-CEX and the process is done automatically block 45000 entrants.

Remember the SWAP is free, carries no fee.

*** In a few hours begins a new algorithm, another step in our roadmap, we are working hard to show you great surprises  ***

CATc Team

Update: In a moment we will post the new wallets.

Nice to see your hard work dev!Thank you!

Hey all,

I was thinking about changing to solo mining for a while to see if there is an improvement or not compared to mining on a pool.
I am currently using Urays miner on his US pool.

I thought is was possible to solo mine using this miner, but I am uncertain of how to proceed. Obviously I need to change the http://127.0.0.1:8125/rewardassignment.html to my address. But can I just point the miner to localhost and start mining or are further steps required?

Do any of you users use Urays miner for solo mining and have a working config-file that you would be willing to share?

Should I perhaps use another miner that is better for solo mining, any suggestions?
You need to download pocminer v1 from op.And you need to put your passphrase in passphrases.txt
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@echo off
cls
:start
java -Xmx750m -cp pocminer.jar;lib/*;lib/akka/*;lib/jetty/* pocminer.POCMiner mine "http://127.0.0.1:8125"%*

goto start
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If your rewardassignment is changed to your account, you will be able to mine solo after 4 confirmations. And if you will put the code above to your run_mine.bat,your miner will starts automaticaly if crash.

I switched to solo mining two months ago,and will never mine for pool again...May be If I will not be able to find block in two weeks, then I will switch to pool.

Happy mining Wink

how many tb do you have?

16 TB and I finf about 0.8-0.9 blocks each day

i have 12tb.

averaging your setup you are doing 500burst/TB/day...

my perfo are worst...

can you tell me which miner are you using, staggersize and pool?

thank you very much for sharing info
My stagger is 4000,because I use windows and don't have much ram.I use dev's pocminer v1 and I mine only solo.
If you will switch to solo, and wait one weak, you will see much better results instead of pool mining. Wink

whit transactions/Day we are come back at the beginning of september..

and total amount transactions/day is going down too!!!

any ideas about it???

Block reward is reducing, and if you will look in orders on exchanges, you will see, what at this point not lot of users wanna sell their burst. All smart users keep their burst in wallets, because burst will be new bitcoin, because after some time we will see big data centrs, what will mine burst, and diff will pump up with prices.

how do you update I have been out of the loop. I had version 1.0.0 I overwrote the files in that wallet with the ones in 1.1.5 but now when I enter the pass phrase it doesnt do anything just removes the phrase and asks me to enter it without any error. I tried to start the new wallet and generate a new wallet id and after creating the passphrase it asks me to reenter the phrase but when I do it and hit the arrow it removes it from there and asks me to re-enter it. I am copy pasting this so it cant be wrong.
Just try to download 1.1.5 version and move your burst_db folder from old version to your new 1.1.5 folder and you should be ok.
