321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling for fun, is it a lie that we tell ourselves? on: January 03, 2024, 10:45:46 PM
Those who have a lot of money and spend their money to go to the casino to get pleasure, is the way they rich people spend their money with friends to relieve stress or just joke.

But most of the poor people they throw money in the casino just to look for the possibility of multiplying money that is not expected by them, so most people think that the casino is claimed as a place to find pleasure is a hoax, but basically depending on what they use gambling to be like, has two opposite views and it is not wrong in my opinion depending on where you stand and think about gambling itself.

If you’ve got the money to comfortably fund your habit, it could be considered fun and entertaining but when you don’t have the money to comfortably do so, it suddenly doesn’t becomes fun or entertaining anymore. That’s just the way it is.
People that has money to fund their gambling activities would find it entertaining and when they play and either win or lose, it doesn’t affect them in the slightest as they’ve got money to comfortably afford to gamble. I would say it doesn’t fun when there isn’t much money to comfortably play.
322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can loneliness make one addicted to gambling on: January 03, 2024, 10:30:35 PM
There is no connection between loneliness and gambling except that person is already a gambler then he can utilized the opportunity of being lone to start gambling more or making some random deposit to his account to constantly keep gambling. Sometimes is from mindset what you think of is what mostly come into mind, and I don't see any reason why someone wife will leave him and he turns himself into gambling addiction instead of becoming a drunker or smoker because these two things are easily being triggered by loneliness and not becoming an addicted gambler.

Why do you think drinking and smoking could be easily triggered by loneliness and not gambling? Gambling could be triggered same way drinking and smoking could be triggered when someone immediately loses his spouse and becomes lonely overnight.
Even someone that has not gambled before could pick up the habit when lonely. And with no significant other to talk some sense into him, he could go over board with his gambling activities. I think someone could easily pick up the habit of gambling as one could pick up smoking or drinking when one suddenly finds himself lonely.
323  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in gambling experts predictions? on: January 03, 2024, 06:02:41 PM

I want to ask, do you believe in experts gambling predictions?

Who could we comfortably classify as a predictions expert? Most likely someone that has had a good number of his predictions come true.
Personally, I don’t see anyone as a predictions “expert”. Using football matches as an example. The outcome of football matches can literally go either way as there is no sure way of knowing the winner until the end of the game.
The person you mentioned that had sure winning games for you and your friends that ended up going sideways was previously seen as an expert. I bet you’ll think twice when any predictions “expert” comes your way with games that he says are sure to win.
324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: January 03, 2024, 05:41:55 PM
Ordinarily, I don’t dwell much on what people say or think about me cause people would always have opinions and something to say about everyone else. And as talk is always cheap and free, people would always talk and a lot amongst the lot actually haven’t got anything useful/new to say.
I don’t dwell much on what people say but I do try to listen a bit if I possibly can as I don’t let society and peoples opinions dictate how I live my life.
The person telling you off about gambling shouldn’t stick his nose into someone else’s business. You’re not exactly breaking the law with your activity.
325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: January 03, 2024, 06:59:24 AM
Nope I disagree with this, the amount of time doesn't really affect it, for me it is the amount that counts.
You could spend less time but play with a higher amount, or you could spend more hours but spend less if you just want to enjoy.
It sounds like a superstition, for me it isn't really the amount of time but the amount of money that you spend which could lead or be the reason why they would call you a gambling addict.

The amount of time spent gambling does have an effect. That doesn’t mean the amount of money used in playing doesn’t count. Both the time spent in playing and the money spent are both important to look out for whenever you’re playing.
When you’ve spent more time playing than already planned, there is a high probability that you’ll also spend more money than you bargained for. If you spend more time playing, you’re also likely to spend more money that you didn’t plan to spend as well. It’s that simple. Best to set a time and perhaps an amount limit and stick to it.

Yesterday was a bad day for gamblers, both Arsenal and Tottenham lost their match and caused so many people who played them to win to lose their bet. The funny part was that Arsenal failed to score a goal against Westham United at the Emirates Stadium.

A bad day for gamblers? Not entirely so. Admittedly, a lot of people had likely placed bets on both Arsenal and Tottenham to win their games as they looked good enough to do so. Obviously, they lost out on their bets as both teams lost their matches. But as some folks lost out on their bets, some folks also played against those teams and won. It may have been a bad day for some, it was certainly a good day for others.
It’s quite sad Arsenal failed to score a single goal despite having the ball, most of the time in their possession as well as missing a lot of chances.
328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 29, 2023, 10:39:55 AM

De Gea was a good goal keeper for United, he saved United in so many occasions. He was even the best Manchester United player for two seasons but I'm very certain Manchester United would still be were they are if they had De Gea in their post this season.
Onana may be bad, which is not a fact, but what I know for a fact is that he's not the reason for what Manchester United are going through.
The Manchester United team is just bad to an extent that the best keeper in the world won't be able to help them. Manchester United concedes so many shot and when that happens they concedes goals.
The defense start from the attack. Manchester United's attack, midfield and defense is average so what magic do you want the goal keeper to do?

De Gea was a really great keeper who saved a good number of balls from hitting the back of the net. I wasn’t all that ecstatic to see him leave as I always did think he was instrumental to the team. Apparently, the management of the club didn’t think so.
I also wouldn’t lay all the fault of Manchester United’s current not so great performance on the present keeper, Onana. Football is a team effort and no single player, no matter how bad he may seem to perform could bear the brunt of their bad performance.
329  Economy / Economics / Re: The power of investment choices on: December 29, 2023, 09:59:56 AM
However, an investor will need to do extensive research before they decide on the altcoins they want to invest their money in because the market is highly saturated and one might lose their investments if they choose the wrong coins. That's why, one should choose their assets carefully to avoid problems.

Any investment requires some good research before putting in your money. Alt coins requires even more extensive research and analysis like you noted. New alt coins pop up every now and then and as quickly as they appear, a lot of them go downhill and disappear as quickly and quietly as they appeared.

It’s safer investing in bitcoin as it has withstood the test of time. Although some alt coins have proven to make a good return on investment, hence the need for extensive research.
Diversification wouldn’t hurt as it’s much better to spread out your investments.

Arsenal's possession of the ball throughout the match didn't seem to help them score goals. I'm sure everyone is disappointed with this result. I also felt great disappointment from the results of this match. Because I also bet quite big for this match. One thing that really regrets Arsenal in this match is that they wasted many opportunities. And Arsenal also had gaps in moments. And give opponents the opportunity to score goals against them.
But it's no surprise that things like this happen quite often in football.

Brighton also surprised today's match. They managed to beat Spurs very convincingly. In fact, Brighton continued to lead by 4 goals without replying until the 80th minute. And Spurs could only reply with 2 goals in the 81st and 85th minutes.

Brighton had a very good run in their game yesterday with Tottenham. I’ve always thought highly of Brighton and I did think they were going to perform a lot better this season. While they’re yet not performing up to what I had hoped this season, their performance yesterday was quite impressive. They didn’t relent in their attacks as they scored 4 goals. Two goals gotten from a penalty kick but goals nevertheless. Spurs rose to the challenge late in the game as they tried hard to equalize scoring only two goals late in the game.

Arsenal’s possession of the ball along with a lot of chances created and wasted did them no good. They couldn’t manage to score a single goal despite having more of the ball and a lot of chances. West Ham on the other hand, utilized every chance they could get. Having 3 shots on target and scoring 2 goals, they sure made good use of every opportunity they could get which wasn’t much.
331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: December 29, 2023, 07:31:03 AM
To become a millionaire in gambling required being patient. In most cases it comes majorly when you are not expecting. Having such in one's mindset may make one to become a betting addict.

Patience do helps but I don’t really think it has much to do with winning big in gambling. Although patience is a good virtue to have when doing literally anything, You can remain patient all you want and still continue to incur losses and debts.
If you’ve got plans to win big someday through gambling, you should first secure a steady source of income that would fetch you enough money to comfortably afford to gamble consistently and smartly in hopes of winning it big. That way, you wouldn’t have to go borrowing to fund your gambling activities. Patience may carry you so far, but it alone won’t be enough.
332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 29, 2023, 06:26:11 AM
They have not been eliminated from the competition, Arsenal's defeat against West Ham was quite surprising, especially since Arsenal were playing at home, but that's football, many surprising things happen.
However, I think that Arenal, Liverpool and also Manchester City have enough strength to compete for the title and it is possible for these teams to be able to compete until the end of the season. This season is still very long and all possibilities are still possible.

It was quite surprising as a lot of people envisaged an Arsenal win. I did too as I had expected Arsenal to win the game with some difficulty. I had predicted both teams to each score a goal but Arsenal coming out victorious but I got both my predictions wrong.
Arsenal didn’t win the game nor did they score a single goal. I’ve never been one to consider playing at home to be that much of an advantage, if any and it was again shown in that game. Arsenal played at home and is considered strong enough to beat West Ham. But neither helped Arsenal as they were defeated
333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 28, 2023, 08:59:22 PM

So, I think Tottenham will make the best use of the second half to reduce their deficit in today match. As for Son and Richarlison, They didn't play well enough in the first half and I hope they can play better to help the team avoid defeat in today match. But if Tottenham lose then they have given up the top 4 place to Manchester city.

It’s getting more difficult for Tottenham to equalize as Estupiñan for Brighton has managed to score another goal. With a beautiful strike from outside the box, he worked the keeper and scored an amazing goal.
The scoreline now rests at 3:0 in favor of Brighton.
Today isn’t Son nor Richarlison’s day as neither of them has been that useful to create chances for goals. Richarlison has had two attempts at goal only to be found offside. I bet that would have been really frustrating for the player. It’s the 68th minute now and Tottenham has yet to score a goal.
334  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: December 28, 2023, 08:33:35 PM
Of course people do other things while at work, but gambling can be worse sometimes because the mind will probably be there as well even when they are working.

An addicted gambler will be stressed about all the money they have lost so far, and won't really be present while working.

Employees on some occasions slack off while working and I think that can be expected sometimes. But gambling when you should be on the clock and working is never advisable. It decreases productivity by a long shot as someone who gamblers in the workplace would have more thoughts about gambling than of his actual work that he’s there to do.
Even while working, an individual who gambles in the workplace would never have his focus fully on the work at hand. More likely, his mind would always be wandering to how’s to recoup money lost on previous rounds/ how to play new rounds and win. Such individuals can never be productive at work.

Brighton v Tottenham Hotspur

Lineups

Brighton — Steele; Hinshelwood, van Hecke, Dunk(C), Igor Julio; Gilmour, Milner; Buonanotte, Groß, Welbeck; João Pedro.

Tottenham Hotspur — Vicario; Porro, Udogie, Davies, Emerson Royal; Sarr, Højbjerg; Johnson, Kulusevski, Son(C); Richarlison.

Tottenham Hotspur are now regaining their come back because they won three consecutive matches with an excellent performance but this time around they are moving to Falmer Stadium to play against Brighton I hope they can win while Brighton are very good at home but let wait and see the end of the game.

Brighton has opened the scoring early on in the game as Hinshelwood found the back of the net in the 11th minute. Tottenham, not playing entirely that bad is trying to equalize but so far, haven’t been successful. Brighton has had more attempts so far as they’re still pushing hard in a bid to score more.
Brighton, having won a penalty with a deliberate foul committed in the box by Spurs is now ahead by two goals and it’s just the 23rd minute. The penalty was taken beautifully by Pedro who easily scored.
336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 28, 2023, 03:00:25 PM
Arsenal's game against Westham is a must-win for them to be at the top of the premier league table. But they should not underestimate Westham because Westham has recorded their second consecutive win without conceding a goal in their last two matches in the premier league.

I thought along the same lines. It’s a really important game for Arsenal that they must strive to win and take full points if they want to replace Liverpool at the top of the league table. While I do think they’ve got the zeal to go for the win, I hope they wouldn’t underestimate West Ham as well as they’re no pushover themselves cause West Ham has shown they’ve got enough spunk to take down top clubs.
I’m willing to bet both teams could each score goal(s) but the final outcome would be Arsenal coming out victorious in the end. No doubt, it would be an interesting game.
337  Economy / Economics / Re: Sometimes tips the securities at the mall or local shops on: December 27, 2023, 11:58:42 PM
That’s your opinion and it’s well received. Tipping is purely optional and should never be mandated. If you feel the service received is good and worthy of appreciation, then by all means, go ahead and tip. Giving tips is an optional gesture of being thankful from the customer for an excellent service provided.

I’d like to think that security being a priority in any organization or business, would pay their security staff a decent amount. Asides that, no employee should have to rely on tips to augment what they get paid.
338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: December 27, 2023, 11:39:05 PM
I think Foden and Alvarez are quite important players for Manchester City this season because without Haaland they can bring Manchester City to victory. I think Liverpool and Arsenal have to be wary of Manchester City revival because Manchester City will again displace them both in the upcoming match.

I wouldn’t say we say their best form but we a glimpse of it. I believe they’ve got a lot more to offer it’s supporters.
Foden is definitely an important player as was proved in their game with Everton. Scoring two goals, he helped Man City achieve the win. Asides his goals, he had some pretty good shots at goal.

If they could play like they did in the second half of the game, the absence of Halland and mostly De Bruyne won’t be noticed in their games. Good game for City as they made a wonderful comeback to go ahead and win the game.
339  Economy / Economics / Re: Why must you used such money to purchased a car? on: December 27, 2023, 11:22:16 PM
Why does it bother you so much that your friend used his money to purchase what he wants? Why should he do what you want and with his money too? As you’ve quit the friendship over his choices of what to do with his money, how long can you hold out till you go back seeking his friendship and its benefits? Apparently, you’re already reconsidering as you’re seeking out opinions on reconciliation.

Even if there was a friend like this, A poor man's advise to a rich person will never be taken seriously. You are in no position to tell someone how to use their money or give financial advise to someone when they did not ask for you advise. You are no professional and should leave the duty of financial advise to the people who are paid for it.

I tend to agree with you on this. His friend in the story, if real, is likely not going to take any financial advise from him and it was proved when the friend ignored counsel to leave the purchase out the luxury car.
A wealthy person is very unlikely to listen to financial advice from someone who’s poor.

340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should mentally unstable people be allowed to gamble? on: December 27, 2023, 10:50:50 PM
The certification of a person to be said to be mentally unstable is not something that demands professionalism to know, for just by the abnormal behaviours and actions expressed by the individual it will be written all over him/her. What we can argument on about that needs a professional hand is only in the aspect of getting a cure it solution to the mental ailment.

On the contrary, not just anyone can state or determine the actual mental state of an individual. Unless of course, you want to judge a person purely by appearance which is what is presented for you and others to see.
There are also mentally unbalanced people that dress okay and behave somewhat normally that you won’t at first notice anything amiss about them.

We definitely need a professional to first diagnose the mental health of an individual as well as getting the proper treatment required.
