321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where is the fun when you lose your money? on: March 23, 2024, 04:08:26 AM
The fun is the entertainment you are getting while wagering. You cannot really view it as a win/loss but more of a how long did I play on the $50 I deposited? If I play for a few hours on $50, then I feel like I got my moneys worth even if I lost the $50.

322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing in casinos: Still a thing? on: March 23, 2024, 12:48:13 AM
I've been wanting to increase the number of my long-term crypto investments for a while now and I've already got like a good amount of BTC that I can comfortably invest without pulling out and I've checked Bitvest just out of curiosity and I've seen that you can invest in their website, I think I've seen it with Bustabit and Bustadice too back then, are they still doing that or is there like a lot of new casinos that are offering this kind of thing, I can't recall how it works when you invest in them so I'm going to ask (although I feel like stupid forgetting how it works), how does it work? And are there any other trusted casinos that are offering this investment? Is it a bad investment?
I wouldn't feel so safe investing with Bitvest. LightLord isn't active and handles business bad IMO. Always paying late for sig campaign and has delays on withdrawals from the site. If they could/would improve that, then I'd feel better.

You would have to message Leo to see if BAB and Bustadice are still accepting investments. After the sale of both, he might have made a couple changes.
323  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: €2.000.000 Chipstars Casino Tournaments!! on: March 22, 2024, 08:56:57 PM
How is it a guaranteed 15,000 prize pool, but you have 62,000 in prizes over 3 winners? I am glad you guys decided to share the competition here, but is the information you shared correct? As iv4n asked, why wait til 14 days past the start to share it here? Just now remembered the forum was here?
324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does pragmatic play bonus buy really worth it? on: March 22, 2024, 04:49:39 AM
I recently play this provider without the use of VPN on Stake.com that’s why I kinda become addicted on this provider. I frequently purchased bonus buy worth 20$ for a minimum bet but the usual profit I can get is just x2 of my buy bonus while I’m frequently lose my bonus buy.

I’m pondering why many user keep using Pragmatic Play especially the bonus buy feature while it’s expensive and the return is not that high considering the max win is very small compared to other provider like push gaming that offers much higher max win.

I admit that Pragmatic games is really cool to play due to graphics but winning wise, I don’t really like it since there’s no 0.1$ minimum bet.
In the long run you are going to lose but you probably already realize that. As far as bonus buys go, I feel like 1 in every 20 buys profits and usually isn't enough to cover what you have spent on the other buys. They're fun but not worth it IMO. You can visit pragmatic play site and play all the games and buy all the bonuses you want for free.

326  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ Help Out Decentralized Gambling Research - Chance To Win $500 in BTC✨ on: March 21, 2024, 09:43:16 PM
We are happy to announce that the raffle reward has been raised to $500 in BTC!

This is made possible by our new partnership with Dapp Casino (https://dappcasino.io/). Dapp Casino is a specialized platform focusing on the evaluation and ranking of decentralized gambling establishments. The bigger prize will hopefully boost survey participation. This partnership does not impact the content or integrity of this research project.

Congrats on finding a sponsor, op!

BTW, what do you think of splitting the prize pool so more people could win? I think this can be attractive as well since folks will have more chances to win a spot. TBH, even 100 bucks is a pretty sweet deal to me.

You could divide the prize pool equally based on the number of winning spots you want or have a tiered winners where prizes descends e.g. 1st place, 2nd place, etc.
Very nice to see you have got a sponsor. I'm sure when the prize was under $50 you didn't get as much attention as you will now. I'm with potato chips on giving more a chance to win, you might get even more participants if they feel they have a shot at winning something. Good luck!!!

328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Feelings on losing the match and the bet on: March 21, 2024, 03:38:44 AM
Are you sad that your team lost or are you actually sad you lost money? I hate losing when I make a bet, but no reason to get upset. You can bet again on the next game assuming you have the funds to make a bet. I think most people are going to be sad on losing the money more than their team losing.
329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Streamer's fan took his own life due to addiction on: March 20, 2024, 11:07:05 PM
I'm not sure how I feel about streamers because I do enjoy watching some of them. The content can be quite entertaining. I don't enjoy the big fake streamers such as xposed, trainwreckz(might be misspelled), Drake's fake stream for stake, Rosh, or any of the guys that are wagering $1000 or more per spin. Anyone who believes they are wagering that amount daily and not caring might not be ok in the head. They are doing a show for the gambling site and being paid for their time, the money you see being wagered is nothing but pure air.

The smaller streamers with real emotions involved are however very entertaining as the wins and losses they go through are directly tied in with the money they might make. Anyways, this isn't about my likes or dislikes.

The 1 thing I do like about a streamer such as trainwreckz is the fact that he tells people he is down millions and not to gamble. People should have to have some sort of disclaimer to let people know they are for entertainment only IMO. Might save someones life.
330  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul to Fight Mike Tyson in Live Netflix Boxing Event - July 20 on: March 20, 2024, 07:36:40 PM
The more I read about this match and the more promotion that I see, I feel like it's going to be basically a sparring match. The fact that it's on Netflix and not Pay per view also tosses a red flag at me. While I feel like in his prime Tyson would knock the snot outta Paul, there is no denying that the 30 year age gap is a big deal. Tyson could probably hang in there for 5-7 rounds, but has not been training like he used to. Paul clearly has the advantage as far as being in shape goes.

It's likely that this is just a glorified sparring match and neither will be giving 100%.
331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not place to make money is place to lose it? on: March 19, 2024, 04:29:16 AM
... and I don't think that the percentage of losers is greater than the winners .

Keep thinking, then.

Is this true gambling is not place to make money is place to lose it?

If we talk about short term, you can win as well as lose, although you have the odds against you. In the long term, the longer the term, the more certain the loss.

Gamblers are screwed over by the house(casino) and by the government where I live(USA). You can sit there and feed a slot machine $5000 and lose it all, then feed it $500 more for a total of $5500 in the slot. On the last spin you finally hit a bonus and win $1200 on that bonus. They make you pay taxes on that $1200 win even though you're still a loser on the night. Ridiculous!!!

Yes, that's bullshit. Is it the same with poker? I doubt it because no one would make a net profit.

With poker you have chips so it's not tracked. You can just cashout $1000 at a time if they started tracking it somehow, but sports, slots, anything that gives a ticket to you upon cashing out is taxed at $1200.

333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not place to make money is place to lose it? on: March 19, 2024, 03:19:01 AM
Hi everyone,

Gambling has become very popular in the world , especially after the changes that have occurred over the years with modern technology and the abundance of games, we can now gamble with one push    anywhere and anytime . More money is flowing to sites and casinos in huge quantities, and everyone’s goal is to win more ,As is always known, if there is a loser, there is a winner, and I don't think that the percentage of losers is greater than the winners .

Is this true gambling is not place to make money is place to lose it?
Of course the % of losers IS greater than the winners. Most people gambling are going to lose. You walk into a land based casino and see 1 guy win, but at the same time there are 50 others losing.
334  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Quickest way to earn merit? on: March 18, 2024, 10:11:23 PM
Merit is needed to rank up and it can be given by anyone who has it to give. As far as the quickest way to earn it, don't worry about trying to earn it. Just post normally and be helpful on the forum and participate in conversations where you are knowledgeable. Merit will come when it comes.

I am so much impressed with your words, it gives me motives and courage,I know it's not  easy to earn merit as we newbie but we can't just be complaining on getting merits when we don't get to understand much more about this forum to gain knowledge about the forums, he's a newbie but he as earn much merits so far tho I don't know how good his posts are but merit don't matter I will also be happy if any of our senior high ranked members can give me merits ,but is just a matter of time merit will come when it's time we just keep making good posts I believe I will gain merits someday.

Perfectly said, there are so many ways to earn merits.
For example:

_By making a quality post
_by making a nice contribution

For someone to be rewarded this are the few task that need to be completed before thinking about how to get merit, you can't seat and fold your hands and be expecting marit to fall down from heaven.is obvious that everyone want to gain merit so as to rank up to the next stage, but depending on how serous and hard working you're.however for you to get the reward, you really need to work hard and stop been curious about getting merit, merit will surely come for those who are hard working.

Everyone tries to make it more complicated than it really is. There are some newbies who make better posts than legendary members. You are basically trying to contribute to a conversation and hopefully spreading some knowledge. You don't have to post like this person or that person, just be you and try.
335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: March 18, 2024, 03:54:48 AM
@ChiBitCTy. Agreed. Also, the Chargers have a new general manager and head coach. It will not be very surprising if this is the beginning for a formation of a team that they want to bring to the playoff in 5 years and challenge for a superbowl. If this speculation is correct, the general manager will certainly need to trade and draft younger players for Jim Harbaugh to position around Justin Herbert. This might also be a longterm roadmap for the Chargers, I reckon.
I think they might be relying on Harbaughs knowledge of the upcoming college players and be looking to get some gems out of the draft and be looking forward to the next few years not having to pay high salaries. Everyone at the skill positions minus Herbert will be on rookie deals, they'll be able to do alot in free agency next year if their draft picks don't hit this year.

337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drake and Bruno Mars An Example of How Gambling Addiction Can Affect Anyone on: March 17, 2024, 11:00:05 PM
While we often discuss Drake's well-documented struggles with irresponsible gambling and the "Drake's Curse", it's important to be aware  that gambling addiction can affect individuals from all walks of life. In this regard, let us take a moment to look at the case of another celebrity, Bruno Mars, whose gambling issues have manifested differently from Drake's.

Several internet sources today has reported that Bruno Mars borrows money specifically for gambling purposes, this is one thing that goes against one of the  rules of responsible gambling. Bruno currently owes 50 million dollar in gambling debts. I am not going to bore you with the detail. Therefore, I will leave a link to the full story - https://www.nme.com/news/music/bruno-mars-is-reportedly-50million-in-debt-due-to-gambling-3602329.

The lesson to learn is that gambling addiction is not respecter of Gender, economic status, race, nationality, religion. It will mess you up, bring shame and disgrace to you if you don't abide by the rules of responsible and do all you can to avoid it.
Guess he better put out another hit record real quick and get that debt settled. These celebs can make up that money real fast by doing some commercials, making a record, getting a starring role in a movie or what not. Whomever lends them the money feels like they will be repaid.
338  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Stop gambling if you don’t have free time to do it on: March 17, 2024, 07:24:44 PM
I’m always a victim of this mistake before when I’m still allure on online casino. I keep playing every night after work. I always play until midnight which makes me consume most of my rest time for my job preparation tomorrow.

The result is I don’t have much energy at work due to insufficient sleep and I lose funds on gambling because I keep playing quick due to my limited time. The effect is very disadvantageous to me since I both lose in these situations. This is the reason why I change my gambling pattern significantly that limit me to play only during weekends when I don’t have job tomorrow.

This is an advice based on my experience, don’t ever insert gambling on your schedule if you really don’t have free time for it because it will always result to disaster in both gambling and your life.
Sounds like a you problem. Not sure what kind of gambling you are doing, but most people would stop well before their bed time so that they could get the rest they needed if their job required it.

Maybe you should look to talk to a therapist.

Welcome to bitcointalk, you should consider making a small purchase of the Copper membership from the admins and present your project in a more professional way. I see that you're not a casino, but to offer a service and have a website you should want a professional look. Up to you, but could help bring in a few customers.

Payments have been sent to everyone who qualified, we have the funds to go at least 1 more week. I'll know before payday if this continues past 1 more week.
