VERSION 6.0
It's not New Year!

Quite correct. For a lot of people, its Christmas!

ZEC below $100  will it be dead by Wednesday?

Well it won't be dead but it sure won't make much sense mining it. By tomorrow ZEC mining should no longer be as profitable as mining ETH/ETC

Except for when all this hr dumps back to eth etc. it too will take a plunge. All in all both coins will be tight on profitability after this.

You're forgetting about the CPU botnets that will continue to drive the ZEC price down.

Are.they only cpu? Probably is gpu

The botnets are CPU.

I don't have this :  (especially if you have applied the 6 GPU fix).

do you have a link for it?

win 10 enterprise

what version are the drivers you set up?

Latest one available.
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v4.0 on: November 13, 2016, 06:10:51 PM
What's the concensus on the drivers for the RX480 Nitro?

Running on an asrock H81 Pro BTC mobo with 8GB ram and a basic Pentium Processor. Using all powered usb risers as in the rest of my rigs, with additional motherboard molex power standard.

All my other rigs are fine, keep getting that opencl hang error on the 480 rig though, and it only sees 5 of the 6 cards as well Sad

I think it updated to the latest drivers, and in global settings I see under the Opencl info, it has some weird characters...maybe an older version of the drivers?

any suggestions are welcome.

thanks!

Built a friend's rig with pretty much the same comp as yours. Windows 10 should see all those cards (especially if you have applied the 6 GPU fix).
No errors or any funnies. (running on latest drivers). What version of windows are you using?
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v4.0 on: November 13, 2016, 04:49:57 PM
but if I can get some 470's for £160 odd I will probably go for those due to the power consumption.

The 470's offer probably the best bang for buck (especially the OC editions)
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v4.0 on: November 13, 2016, 02:53:01 PM

Hey, Hotmetal, so you POS really proposed that miners and pools should defraud Claymore of his 5% dev fee for the XMR miner in 2014 by stealing the funds mined to his worker? You seem to have no problem stealing Claymore's money for his hard work. And you accuse him of theft? GTFO of here.

Who's next?!

Would you like some cheese with that whine?
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v4.0 on: November 13, 2016, 12:27:32 PM
Too early for these two since v5.0 isn't published yet. But it will happen, no "worries".

Linux version doing 120 sols/s per RX470/480 with very little power draw (~100w per gpu @ the wall). Good luck matching that.
331  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v4.0 on: November 13, 2016, 12:10:38 PM
Can you understand that it is necessary to increase the speed? There are nearly twice as fast Linux miner and miner Claymore must improve in performance to take part of the cake of them.

No need, us Linux guys are draining profits quite nicely and we thank you for not joining. See, we're nice guys Tongue

I already get this with 3 x RX480 and Claymore 4.0 Wink

So i'm on nanopool and showing about 11K Sol but I am at 12.2 k Sol on my ethman.  I know its all about solutions yadda yadda, but 1.2K less sol is pretty massive.  Anyone have better luck any place else?

You might want to try suprnova.

335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v4.0 on: November 11, 2016, 09:21:26 AM
I'm having issues with my rigs rebooting randomly after some time using V4, did not have these problems before.
Can't seem to nail down any obvious cause for this.

All rigs are running Windows 7 Pro and ASUS STRIX RX 480 8GB with powered risers. -i 0 vs -i 2 seems to have no effect on stability.

Anyone else having issues like this?

Overclocked BIOS?
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v2.1 on: November 10, 2016, 07:31:26 PM
It's not about money, there are several reasons why I'm not going to release ZCash miner for Linux in near future - most of haters who say that I stole SA engine are on Linux so let's they use some different miner. Also I don't like to see as someone applies IDA to my miner to see how it works. Also I don't like Linux, it's a pain for me.
NVidia: if I release miner for NVidia, these haters will again say that I stole SA engine. So there will not be NVidia version.
I think other devs will create public miners with similar speed for Linux and NVidia soon.

IDA doesn't just work on Linux binaries. Can disassemble Windows executables as well quite easily (as you probably know).

Anyways, no one really cares about the fact that you used SA code. People were up in arms that there
was no credit given or that the license wasn't followed. Just as having to pay a dev-fee is the
"right thing to do", same logic applies to giving credit etc.

The topic should be done with now because it's over and dealt with. Let's all move on.

Keep up the great work.

I have a feature request. Currently suprnova show's the current and historical earnings.
Is there any chance to add a "future earnings" tab like nanopool / nicehash and the other pools have?

That way I can tell (based on current hash rate / exchange pricing) what my future returns will / can be.

I'm getting on Radeon RX 480 ~20 Sol/s is this normal ?
I'm using nheqminer  GPU on Windows

Use Claymore's windows miner.. You can get around 40 - 60 sols/s depending on bios etc

As someone mentioned before, this coin has become a mine and dump coin. With the latest huge drop in price the profits are almost equal to ETC now. Although  Zec is still not present ( Huh)  in http://www.whattomine.com/coins, for my small home farm of 280x and 390's (1200 sols/s) this is the reality. If we as a community do not learn how to care for our coins, sooner or later our profits will be gone. I mean, every time the pools pay to the miners there is a rush to fill the buy book in poloniex. I am not saying that we should wait too long but there is a way to sell in small portions with a minimal negative impact on the price. I do not consider myself as a good trader but I managed to doble my Zec profits selling during the spikes and not affecting the price in a negative way at all. Just a food for thought while squeezing another sols from your cards  Tongue Very good miner by the way. I don't have any issues with it at all!

P.S. In http://www.whattomine.com/coins now and then appears UTC on top - currently 3.5$ profit for 280x. I am afraid, however, that this coin is in danger of delisting in Bittrex and the buy offers are pretty small.

https://www.whattomine.com/coins

Click on DEFAULTS and it will reset and you'll see ZEC etc
