321  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: MTGOX Withdrawal issue on: October 04, 2011, 08:20:23 AM
Hello Mt.Gox Users,

Please be aware that due to the sudden increase in AML requests, processing of submitted documentation has become slightly delayed. We thank our users for their continued patience and support as we adjust to the requirements which have been obligated upon Mt.Gox.

Wait, I just saw this. AML = Anti-money laundry? So you are already giving data about your costumer's to governments? That's the reason for all the sudden requests on documentation?

Did you at least warn all your costumers of what's going on? If governments are already gathering data from bitcoin exchanges, this is of huge importance.

The documentation in question is held on a secure data store. Any submitted information will not be shared by any third party under any circumstance, except where Mt.Gox is legally obliged to do so at the instigation of a police investigation.

Hello RandomBuny,

We sincerely apologize for the delay you have experienced in having your submitted documents reviewed. Please be aware that these measures have been brought into place at the insistence of a number of banking and policing entities after an increase in the incidence of fraud, phishing attacks and money laundering being carried out using bitcoins to mask illegal transactions.

We have been attempting to process all submitted documentation as quickly as possible, but due to the sudden increase in AML requests, processing of submitted documentation has become slightly delayed. We thank our users for their continued patience and support as we adjust to the requirements which have been obligated upon Mt.Gox.

If you would like to contact Mt.Gox Support directly to further discuss the issue, please feel free to contact us at support@mtgox.com, or by accessing the below link, at any time:

Hello mb300sd,

Your suggestion has been forwarded to our development team for review.

casascius,

If it would help, I'll ask Mark to make a posting to that effect. Furthermore, the email address tied to this account is the Mt.Gox support address.

Hello Borph,

This unfortunately is not possible, for the reasons you outlined. The simplest way would be to have the bitcoins paid directly to her Mt.Gox account, which would not cause any issues, at which point she could sell them for EUR and withdraw to her bank account.

Alternatively, for clients who already have a Mt.Gox account they could send her BTC or mtgoxEUR directly via a Mt.Gox Redeemable Code. This would likely be the best way to go about it, for recurring or long-time clients.

Hello payb.tc,

As per the Mt.Gox Support Desk site,

Any funds deposited or withdrawn using Technocash over the past week are currently being held by Technocash. They have stipulated that they will hold these funds until all fraud claims submitted to them have been processed, at which point they will release the remaining funds not used to pay out fraud victims to Mt.Gox. We will then complete the transfer which you originally requested.

Please be aware that Technocash has yet to give us a timeframe for this fraud claim process to complete.

We sincerely apologize for this extremely unfortunate change in circumstances, and would advise all customers who have recently made a Technocash deposit to urgently contact their bank and cancel the transfer.

As Mt.Gox was not made aware of the account closures until they occurred, we have been unable to take any action to safeguard users' funds at this time.

As we are yet to make any progress with Technocash, and they are still processing fraud claims submitted to them, we still don't have a timeframe for when we will be able to release those funds to our users.

We sincerely apologize for this, Technocash gave us no warning at all that they were planning on freezing the account.

Hello fastandfurious,

If you need assistance, please feel free to contact Mt.Gox Support at any time. You can do so by either logging into Mt.Gox and clicking the "support" tab, or by sending an email to support@mtgox.com.

If your problem relates to a Euro transfer, please make sure when sending an email to let us know when you made the transfer, how much it was for, and your Mt.Gox number.

Mt.Gox has recently opened an account with Paxum, a Canada based payment processor. Whilst they wont deposit directly into a paypal account, they can make deposits directly into Canadian bank accounts.

This may be another option for you.

Note that Mt.Gox now has the ability to set up Euro wallets. If your friend was to set up an account, she could be paid in either mtgoxEUR or BTC, and withdraw those funds in Euro straight into her European bank account via SEPA transfer.

The only thing she would need to do is either provide her clients with her Mt.Gox bitcoin address, or ask that they pay her by sending an Mt.Gox EUR Redeemable Code by email.

Please be aware that Mt.Gox will soon be re-opening an Australian bank account, which will allow our Australian customers to carry out transactions between their account and an Australian bank account once again. We apologize for the suddenness with which we lost the ability to carry out Australian transfers, our partner in Australia, Technocash, quite unexpectedly froze our account with them without any prior communication.

We will be going with a new partner in the future to ensure something similar does not happen again.
