321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA Betting Tips Heading into the 2024 Postseason on: April 05, 2024, 12:57:39 AM
During the first round of playoffs, It’s a safe bet to put your money on ML rather than risk on huge spread because it can give you an almost guaranteed profit instead of risking for more gains for an extra risk.
Alternatively, there are markets for betting on the series winner. That way you can remove the potential risk in case the favored team underperforms in one of the home games because it can always happen.

JB and the Heat won’t do it this season because if Miami wins the play-in tournament, they’d have to go through Boston or Milwaukee in the first round, and that won’t happen in 2024.
I wouldn't quickly count the Heat out, they have a good chance to avoid the play-ins and possibly face the Cavs. If they fall to the play-ins, they can probably beat the Bucks in the first round because they've been dropping games against teams they could easily beat.

Looking at the bracketing, they should have make both sea teams on different group but then they're both on group B.
Both of them landing in Group B is probably for the better because Group A is like the group of death with Team Falcons, Team Spirit, Heroic, and Azure Ray.

This is probably the farthest they can go IMO, and i'll be surprised if one of them advances to the playoffs. If they can get help from Team Liquid like what happened in DreamLeague maybe there's a possibility.

I predicted a draw here but we can expect anything from this two teams in 2024.
I also expected a draw, even a win for Man United would've been fine if they held on, but they just had to give up those two goals at the end.  Lips sealed

@slaman29 Now we're all tied up with that one hell of a comeback from Chelsea and it comes down to the F1 and Cup final on the weekend.  Wink

If I don't get at least one point out of those two remaining questions this might be my worst loss of the season.
324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: User experience Trends in Online Gambling: What's Next? on: April 04, 2024, 04:26:51 PM
If I could suggest one thing for casinos and sportsbooks it's probably the trading bots or maybe something similar to an exchange feature because the transaction fees sometimes become a big deciding factor and one of the best ways to save on fees is exchanging your coins.

To be specific, something similar to this service, but on other casinos and sportsbooks.
325  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lately I've been thinking about this a lot. on: April 04, 2024, 03:42:26 PM
Many gamblers are placing bets on this fighter since its more reliable than you against the casino games, this is all about agility and skills, but the possibility of intent loss to make more money is also possible in this game, what's your take on this?
It's still a toss-up and thinking this match would be more reliable than casino games is a trap given they've already secured their fair share of money.

Jake Paul might have the upper hand if we look at the odds, but you never know what the other side plans to do, and to me, it's always possible for Mike Tyson to step up even though there's not much on the line.

I'd rather bet my money on another match and betting on casino games doesn't look any worse.

They've been sleeping for a long time. With that I mean, I am sure that you understand what that really means. Yuragi is so good and has been consistently good even with OG.

A trivia for that grand finals, sanctity was playing with 100+ ping during that time. What an incredible player.
I'm referring to the CS squad, but it's also nice to hear their Dota squad qualify for a tournament.  Wink

After taking a break for a few days i'm testing my luck with this Dota bet on Heroic. They're currently the best SA team, and only got here because they had tougher matchups facing three good EU teams. The odds are still close because all of Talon's series have gone to all three maps, and it's a decent alternative bet for 1.85 odds.

327  Economy / Gambling / Re: My experience on live bet on: April 04, 2024, 12:57:53 AM
Just don't regret your decision.
That's one of the many downsides of cashing out your bets too frequently, as i've been there at one point.

Might not be a good strategy for others and it just shows that gamblers are also very different in terms of their gambling style and strategy.
The cashout feature is always discouraged for a good reason like potentially missing out on a late-game winner when things could still change at the final moment.

Others might go all in, but there are also some conservative gamblers within us.
I can relate to that, as I used to be one of those gamblers who prefer to prolong their bankroll and avoid losses when possible.
328  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gambling kills the fun in these two cases on: April 04, 2024, 12:00:06 AM
Do not make gambling your only source of income or your only means of entertainment, as this will eliminate the first goal of gambling, which is pleasure.
As much as I agree with you, gamblers would always fall for one of the two mistakes mentioned because they can quickly forget this advice while playing and only realize the same thing once it's over.

pleasure? Would you mind elaborating?
I assume he's referring to the feeling of winning because once you start winning most of your bets within a short period or have a winning session it always gives you the adrenaline rush. That kind of feeling might encourage you to return for more if you don't have any hobbies aside from gambling.
329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🕹️ Esports 🎮 Prediction & Discussion Thread on: April 03, 2024, 10:40:05 PM
This Elite league has eliminated a lot of teams already. Notable teams like Nigma Galaxy and 9pandas are already out. But they're not the only teams that are already out. Here's the list of the others that will come together with them.

- KEV
- nouns
- Rest farmers

And tomorrow there will be more teams that will be out, to be specific 3 more teams.
I didn't expect Nigma Galaxy to exit out of the tournament this early when there are a lot of weaker teams in this Swiss group. I thought they could've gone up 2-0 in their first two series since Talon had a stand-in.

On the bright side, their elimination put Team Secret one step closer to qualifying, and they might have a higher chance of qualifying with Satanic filling in for 23's absence in their decider series against Aurora.

It'd be amazing to see if all three SEA teams somehow advance and win their series.
330  Other / Off-topic / Re: Gambling addiction is not about the money you could win; it's about the "win" it on: April 03, 2024, 03:41:16 PM
But even with those ideals in play, why would a millionaire start gambling in the first place?
Aside from what everyone has said, I guess it's because some people aren't satisfied with their source of income and find it fun to win money through gambling.

so why would a rich athlete or politician become so addictive to gambling?

I think socialization+joy+drinking+gambling is satisfaction to them. What do you think?
That's probably true to a certain extent because as the others already mentioned, casinos would always step up to provide the best experience for their best customers, and that's the high rollers.

IMO there are still high rollers who are addicted because of other reasons like struggling to stop themselves from chasing their losses.
331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What was your latest big win from gambling? on: April 03, 2024, 03:01:29 PM
My latest big win was probably $50~, it might not seem a lot to most gamblers, but to me, it's a big amount when most of my recent deposits have been 10x less than that. These big wins always boost my confidence and encourage me to take a few risky moves. Similarly, i'd increase my betting amounts when i'm starting to win more than usual so I can take advantage of my luck before it falls off. And if it does backfire within a few bets, i'd immediately switch back to my regular betting amounts.
332  Other / Off-topic / Re: No interest in gambling if there is no profit or fun to be accountable. on: April 03, 2024, 03:55:25 AM
Would you still consider to game in such casino site?
Or would you go for the one you would either loose of gains by profits or find funs gaming?

To me if profits and funs are not featured in gambling then I don't find any Interest in it
I'll keep playing in the same casino because most casinos now have a leveling system and I wouldn't easily be discouraged by my bad luck. Even if my losses stack up, i'll eventually get some of it back through their VIP rewards.

I understand that those two go together, but there's not much change in switching through another casino, and it could be a coincidence that you're winning on another casino. If I keep on losing then so be it, i'd look for a different solution like taking a break from gambling or reducing my deposit to a budget-friendly level.
333  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: April 02, 2024, 11:14:05 PM
Then I have all sorts of thoughts blaming casino, like do they manipulate the result of the game when user goes all in. I am sure they are all fair, it's just that the possibility of losing the game may be minimal but it's never 0.
You have to remove those thoughts about your losses and always shift the blame to yourself for going all in instead of the casino.

Regardless of the low probability of losing your bet, it's still a bad decision to go all in because you'll quickly lose more of your deposits before recovering your losses.

Sometimes that's how luck works, they'll hit you with a loss when you least expect it, and once you sink in more hours, you'll know these low-probability outcomes happen more often.

From next season you should start writing negative feedback on forum profile of members who dont submit many times.
That might work if it becomes an actual rule next season, but I doubt it'll get approved by the Cro2 team when we already have enough punishments.

Wait what, another matchup with only 1 different answer. What is happening this week lol
That's how my matchup ended in the previous round. It's quick and less stressful even when you're on the losing end.

I guess seeing a duel with both teams having the same answers from the first question until the final is more than possible.  Wink
335  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: April 02, 2024, 10:07:38 PM
I can also say that PGL did a fantastic job with this major and the final reached a peak of 500k viewers at some point which is amazing! CS will never die and that is a solid fact.  Cool Cool Cool
My thoughts are the same, aside from that unfortunate hiccup from the VP/G2 series, they handled this first CS2 major better than expected.

Congratulations to Navi for winning PGL major Copenhagen and not only that, they're automatically qualified to two another grand major and great event and tournament.
On top of that, they rose four spots from the world ranking. It's still unreal that this iteration of Navi would take home the trophy and beat them one-sidedly on the decider map.
336  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Claw Machines: a category of gambling? on: April 02, 2024, 09:29:51 PM
Do you consider this a category of gambling game? What are the chances on long run? Skills matter, or do you have to be lucky, nevertheless?
Regardless of the standards, I would categorize it as gambling and put it on the lower end, like those games with loot boxes because you still win a prize, but the rates are worse than actual casino games. Luck is always a factor because claw machines can be modified to only work at a certain time and you don't know how many tries are needed before it hits that specific threshold where you can snag a prize. In the long run, the owner should always come out on top unless they didn't set it properly.
337  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many times all-in save your bankroll? on: April 02, 2024, 04:48:23 PM
The games I frequently go all in are Dice and Blackjack because I always prefer to play with odds close to doubling my bet.

I don't recall my betting record specifically on going all in, but most are losses. Maybe my record would be like 1/20 if I had to give an idea and it made me realize that i'll have a higher success rate of recovering my bankroll if I stick to my regular bet amounts until the end.
338  Economy / Gambling / Re: My experience on live bet on: April 02, 2024, 04:18:08 PM
I started to question why this sport bet robot was acting that way after two of the three games had already been played, even if I eventually won the game. At that point, my cash out was #1,641.
It's mostly due to your multi-bet's last leg. The live odds are higher than the pre-live from 2.07 to 3.45, and can likely fail when you start to look at the situation of the match(85 mins in with only 1 goal).

The cashout amount would've been higher if that match just started instead of nearing the end.

IMO, that's still a generous cashout amount, even though the bet is only a few minutes away from being graded as a loss.

Our matchup quickly went down to the NBA question and my mistake in choosing the under on Curry worked. Tongue Anyway, good round, and good luck on your next match.

Also, it's great to see my name on the upper part of the standings, I just wish I could maintain that position until the end.

The set of questions this round is nice it's less complicated, even though I barely follow the other sports.

We are thinking of going Pay-Per-Post, what do you think?
Shifting to pay-per-post would be great for the participants because sometimes it's inevitable to fall short on the weekly post requirement.
