What are you even asking here? The topic doesn't make sense to me. If you are gambling for fun or entertainment, you just go hang out and spend a few bucks on poker or blackjack and go home if you lose the amount you took out from the bank. For example, I haven't been to the casino in months and decide I want to go for awhile and play some 1/3 no limit poker. I go to the bank and grab $100-300 and play for a bit. If i lose I don't rebuy and go home, if I win what I consider enough money I cash out and go home.

Personally, I'm more of a responsible gambler because I don't let my emotions control my decisions. I won't ever go over my limit. I admit I had that portion before but it's not always going to be like that anymore because I chose not to be like that.

There is no way I would spend 10% of my net worth in the casino. Spending savings to gamble in the casino is insane. As yahoo62278 says, good gambling should be for fun, and here I don't consider my savings or part of my net worth, but the money for the month. If I have $200 left over this month for leisure I can spend it, going out for dinner, going to the movies or gambling at the casino, or a combination of them.

What is said to be gambling for fun is when you use 1% of your weekly income to gamble weekly and not gamble more than that. Although I went up to 5% at times and I do not feel it at all. But I notice that I do not like to lose at all but if I lose, I am not depressed or be thinking about the money.

I wouldn't even dare to take savings for gambling, it's better to find other sources to use for gambling because it's not worth much but if it's for fun then it's enough I say under $50 for me it's big enough because I don't want to exceed the limit.

Sometimes I don't even deposit money into casinos for fun, there are truly free games for everyone to experience. As for the issue that is closely related to money, many situations can happen like the way OP mentioned initial capital expenditure, but usually we want to win to get money with things that we spend, I know both the feeling of someone accepting a loss and the feeling of not accepting a loss.

But the point of responsibility here is not simply about gambling behavior, because in each different case we will evaluate the level of risk/safety. But anyway, advising someone to play responsibly is just a warning and when they get stuck they can know it was a mistake/continue to repeat the mistake until they stop that habit.

Mindset. Our brain can sometimes be tricked by repeatedly telling ourselves that we will end it if we ever deplete the balance that we set and somehow it works. I've done that many times and because of that, I avoid being frustrated every time I lose. Sure, there will still be the stressful side especially if the losing streak comes but at the end of the day you can still swallow the reality that it's hard to win against the house and you will accept that you lost.

Just play simply as that, I mean don't pressure yourself, just bring enough money if you are going to play on land base casinos, or deposit in online. The thing is that gamblers are not satisfied, even if we won, most of the time we want to comeback for more and duplicate that emotion and feeling. And this could be the downturn as you can't control your emotions.

That's why when I play and really wanted to enjoy, I will just go in traditional based casinos with my wife and some friends to have some fun. This is just my own opinion. Those gamblers who say they play gambling in a casino for fun only are gamblers who only have a limited amount of money to bet. Winning or losing is absolutely fine. Now, what you are saying is that if you gambled $1,000 out of your $10,000 savings, you are fine even if you lose because you have $9,000 in savings,
and he gambled another $5,000 and lost.

This is my assessment: losing $5,000 in gambling is only natural; you won't be happy because that is 50% of your $10,000 savings. If,  in real life, I don't do that, 50% of my savings will be allocated to gambling; only a gambling addict can do that. Someone being fine with losing a thousand dollars from 10k savings, bugs me, because I would not be fine and regret the decision to gamble in the first place. It is a huge amount of money from where I come from. Still as long as it is kept within the "fun" domain it is fine. There should be a ceiling on the max budget to be spent on gambling otherwise the spending becomes difficult to keep track of.

Bankroll management and risk management are two thing if a gambler starts to do they will no longer be an addict.

10% of your savings is a huge chunk of it and does not count as gambling for fun for me. If you run through $1000 in the space of days or weeks, except you quit gambling after that you will be on your way to running through the whole pile. You should not be staking out of your savings at all.

A 10% down is surely stingy and will probably give me temporary rest on gambling since we talking about 10% of my savings but for the sake of discussion you’re right that you can gamble for fun if you are risking what you can afford to lose.

Doesn't matter how much it is technically it's different from person to person but it always boils down to money you've assumed you're going to lose. It's pretty similar to how I consider what money goes into my trading (and is probably why a lot of people compare the two in the first place).

And you can still not be happy even if you didn't lose half of your savings. Even losing money shouldn't make you happy anyway! That doesn't mean that you're not gambling for fun though, two different things. You stop gambling for fun when you start trying to think you can cheat the system, so you try and try again, which ultimately just ends up with you losing more and more money .

I won't accept this because I know a gambler gambling with all the money he has is not gambling for fun. The reason why one would want to use all the money they have to play gambling is to gain back double of the money that was used in playing,  and the truth is that if the money used playing bet ends to be lose the person will definitely feel sad because what was expected didn't come through.  The real fun in gambling is playing with amount you can afford to lose, it doesn't mean it must be all the money you have. So in short, the lesson here is that a gambler should only gamble and use the funds that they can afford to lose, and those funds should not be from your salary or savings, but if they cannot be avoided, then get only the amount you think has a small effect on your finances. I agree with you. But sometimes it happens that a person starts playing for fun, but over time it turns out that he is playing for money or to win back. Therefore, you need to immediately outline your strategy when emotions do not prevail over a person. To be honest, gambling with $1000 when you have only $10,000 as your savings is too risky for fun sake, at most $500 which would be used to play multiple games with small stake. The essence of gambling with small stakes is to increase your gambling time and fun, else gambling with huge stakes is an obvious fact that the gambler is gambling to make extra money.
