321  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Targets for 2020 on: November 08, 2020, 06:21:35 AM
Well we have seen Bitcoin nearly touch $16k last night, with that in mind what do you think is in stock for Bitcoin for the remainder of 2020? Do you think we will see it break past $20k?

Bitcoin on the rally to $16K and take a brief dip to $14,900, I thought it will drop to $13K but it turns out to hold the support level at$15K right now, assume bitcoin on periods of sideways and retesting to rise up again, well this process may take more than a week.
Before bitcoin could break $20K again, there are a lot of resistance levels to overcome, but the odds are still high to close at $20K by the end of the year if the parabolic uptrend happens again.
322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I accept Bitcoin for payments on my online store? on: November 08, 2020, 01:26:06 AM
OP's concern is more like on implementing of the payment gateways on a website which is more technical and need a developer to make it work.

He said about technical doubt, yes it may be about that, he will figure it out because it's not that hard to hire someone or just add a barcode/address by himself for bitcoin payment.
However, he also questioned about risk and safety. We know how crypto payments work, many people have done it on their websites too, even for charity.
There is no risk other than volatility, fees, and confirmation time required for a transaction, so it is safe.

Is this a good idea? Are there any risks (other than the volatility)?
The one of my main concerns is: how safe is it to accept cryptos as payment on a website?  Huh
323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I accept Bitcoin for payments on my online store? on: November 07, 2020, 02:59:19 PM
Well, know your customer and your country if you know lots of people using bitcoin on your country, then why not give it a try, bit of course, don't just bitcoin for payment, give your customers options for payment.

Of course the main payment system will still be with fiat, eventually, bitcoin and cryptos would be an alternative option.
The store is more focused on local sales in the UK for now... as far as I know, cryptos are quite popular here.

I like the idea of being able to get some cryptos (not everything) instead of fiat as payment... it would save me some time instead of having to buy from the exchanges Grin

The one of my main concerns is: how safe is it to accept cryptos as payment on a website?  Huh

Yes, it is safe as bitcoin payment is irreversible, besides the volatility and confirmation time, nothing to worry about it.
Since many people using bitcoin in the UK, then it's a good idea to add a crypto payment option.
Buyer and seller should understand that both parties have to wait until 1 confirmation received on your wallet, then you proceed buyer's order.
324  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How about day trading Eth? on: November 07, 2020, 06:05:03 AM
Ethereum price movements every day are quite large, this can be used for day trading, but in my opinion, the benefits of day trading on Ethereum require large capital.

It's not easy though, tiring and costs a lot of time to watch the market graph and planning the strategy over time based on technical and trend analysis, and don't forget the high risk to lose.
in short, day trading isn't for layman in the trading battle field. Better to buy and waiting for a week or a month to sell it.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do not trade Alts with BTC these days, You will just lose on: November 06, 2020, 02:00:02 PM

I don’t mind trading shitcoins for BTC. But for promising alts like Ethereum, Stellar Lumens, etc., of course I wouldn’t convert them to Bitcoin for now since it is on a parabolic move. Because of this move, correction would be parabolic as well. Always better diversify your assets rather than just trading them all into Bitcoin, so that you will get less disappointment if the situation moves south.
i have a shitcoin here and i didnt trade them to alts or to btc because the value of them is still low , not just i love them but i dedicate time to get them on the past but by the way if thats your decision that was still okay because btc was valueable compare to shitcoins not only because of the current price of btc right now but valueable because it was a good quality of coin . on the altcoins there are many valueable altcoins and not all altcoins are falling . eth is one of that , its now trading at over 425 usd and thats a nice price compare to the last price of eth

Shitcoins meant to be wasted, nothing good will happen for those coins, let alone trade them, it simply worthless.
I consider stellar lumens won't achieve a higher price, look at the price chart, barely maintain its position at $0,1 since last year.
Better to stick with some famous altcoins since the price always tends to rise whenever bitcoin climb up.
326  Economy / Economics / Re: This is why bitcoin HAS to go up on: November 06, 2020, 10:16:26 AM
Lol where you said it doesn't depend on supply and demand afterall Grin what you explained there is still the same supply and demand that is causing the Bitcoin to keep increasing in price.

What he was saying about bitcoin price not only drive-by supply and demand of bitcoin but also the depreciation of the currency, in this case, the US dollar devaluation.
it's a common thing that prices for goods and services to rise due to inflation, so does bitcoin price, just like gold which has relatively stable value over centuries.
Although bitcoin price is more volatile than gold, it still holds the value as an alternative to central bank-controlled fiat money.
327  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Another 2017 kinda year is already around the corner on: November 06, 2020, 07:05:50 AM
2017 and 2020 thread looks identical or similar, today bitcoin reach 15,000$, I have nothing else to confuse me right now because I'm certain that bullrun is finally here, dec 2020 to cross over of 2021 will be a long bullrun ride, hopefully altcoins will break the chains too and bring huge ROI like that of 2017

It's not identical, there are a lot of differences between these two years, even if you look at the price comparison, bitcoin price in early November 2017 was ~$7,100 but in 2020 it's $15,700. Bitcoin rally in 2017 happened in September-December, but in 2020 the bull run starts from April and the price gradually increases and decreases through these 7 months. a relatively short pump for bitcoin and altcoins in 2017 and a more mature market in 2020, and it's just the beginning as bitcoin will reach a new ATH in 2021 imo.
But for altcoins, only a few that could follow bitcoin path to rise, just some major altcoins as we can see at the market right now.
328  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: American election is nothing to do with BTC on: November 06, 2020, 04:58:24 AM
One of the famous analyst say American election is nothing to do with BTC. Well that's the spirit I would say as top rated crypto currency may not be impacted whoever wins the American election, also he says the value may go up till the end of the year. Is BTC still giving opportunity for investment? What's your thought guys.

https://www.businessinsider.in/stock-market/news/bitcoin-doesnt-care-who-wins-the-us-election-it-will-rise-in-value-regardless-of-the-outcome-a-cryptocurrency-fund-chief-says/articleshow/78968900.cms
it may not be impacted Long but in the beginning for sure there will be changes in market.
I don't know if the Bullish market today is effect of Biden being leader in This Election or the election itself effects the Crypto market.

Bitcoin Spiking almost $16,000 in just a short period of time from $13,000 level?this is something we can relate about the US election IMO

But I believe that there are something happening now because the Counting in Online broadcast seems to be Paused?
well World is expecting the result as sooner as possible so this may surely effect every market worldwide.

I tend to agree this significant rise of bitcoin price within days seems related to the US election, as bitcoin in the US market is one of the biggest, many companies and institutional investors recently investing in bitcoin came from the US. Because it's not only for the short term, whoever is elected as president will directly influence the market for the long term because of the policies that will be implemented.
"Longer term, however, a Joe Biden victory would be better for Bitcoin and gold because that would imply an unprecedented level of government spending"
329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One of the top 10 btc wallets hacked? on: November 06, 2020, 01:46:24 AM

Just a quick note on this - https://cryptoadventure.org/the-us-government-seized-69369-bitcoins-worth-1-billion/

According to Bloomberg's report, these coins were seized by the US government and it is confirmed that the coins were not hacked.

We speculate about this matter but it turns out like this, which means this address bc1qa5wkgaew2dkv56kfvj49j0av5nml45x9ek9hz6 belongs to the US government now. they are bitcoin whale after seized those coins.
in the same way as in the past, bitcoin in authorities' custody will be sold at the federal auction. at least we know, it won't be dumped into the market anytime soon.
330  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is pumping on: November 06, 2020, 01:07:50 AM
So let me ask you a question in one word tell me:
1. Will Bitcoin create a new ATH?
2. What is your price prediction?
3. Will Bitcoin reach $50,000 this time.

Thanks.
1) New ATH will be higher than $25000 if Biden can change the situation for the US economy after the strong impulses by Trump.
2) Maybe it will touch $18000 in a week but the flat market will be boring to watch if the demand falls on this price range.
3) Speculation is not a good idea if there is no fundamental support, especially in the volatile crypto markets.

Many traders predict bitcoin bull run will reach $20K in December and probably a new all-time high as bitcoin is just 28% away from establishing a new one.
Right now, bitcoin price at $15,900 and still continue to climb higher, according to trend analysis this rally may be extended to $17K before a pullback.
I won't so confident to say bitcoin will reach $50K this time, it would be great if bitcoin breaks the resistance level step by step to $20K.
331  Economy / Speculation / Re: Just in - Bitcoin at $15 000 on: November 05, 2020, 05:09:21 PM
Amazing achievement if I may say for early November as many traders expected bitcoin to reach $15K by the end of the month but actually it's not.
and not just test the resistance level at $15K, it keeps on the rally to $15,200 and market sentiment still at strong buy which means it could reach the higher mark before the end of the day.
332  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin cross $15k in end of 2020 on: November 05, 2020, 01:52:32 PM
It looks like we wouldn't need to wait any longer we are just $81 short before it finally cross $15K again.
So the next question is would it continue to reach higher,Sustain to it's current price or drop down?
Would we see a new ATH before this year ends?

yes, I saw it, bitcoin at $14,900 like a minute ago on preev but then drop to $14,800.
Bitcoin may reach $15K in the near future or maybe today.
Not sure who, where, or which exchanges got a huge influx of money from investors buying bitcoin, but it's close to reaching that mark.
Some technical analysis I've been following gets it in the right frame.
333  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One of the top 10 btc wallets hacked? on: November 05, 2020, 05:46:21 AM
I have studied information on this movement of bitcoins. If this was a wallet hack, then the coins would be sent to multiple wallets.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5160025.msg55169454#msg55169454
Here user humerh3 writes that: "I can give this wallet for free".
This suggests that a fake is being sold on the Internet.

There is not enough information yet to say that the wallet was hacked.

it makes sense since all the hack cases always end up did the same thing, spread the coins into numerous wallets.
Those 69,370 bitcoins associated with the silk road, which means whoever owns the wallet can't freely move it into exchanges or mixer without being traced, all the time.
it happened in April but there is no movement yet to date, well just chill about it.
334  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it a good time to buy Bitcoin ? on: November 05, 2020, 03:04:41 AM
Quote
i need to buy it at this price ?

Buy it and hold for a year is viable, to buy shorter term is speculative.    Last estimates Ive been reading is for a 2 year price accumulation which presumably means now is fine to buy, however thats the best case scenario and it might take five years for any positive to be seen overall.   Quite alot of patience is required and the ideal is to use BTC rather then only hold it for storage, some countries their own currency is so bad that BTC seems entirely sensible always as its linked to the wider world rather then a failing national economy.

5 years is quite long but I think we can harvest a good result but for safe we should look for short term also so whenever there's something bad gonna happen we already recover the possible losses we get from holding for 5 years timeframe although this is just an speculative thoughts so for sure there will be more gonna happen I'm the past years.

According to current market condition, no need to wait for 5 years, you'll get profits if you buy now and wait for 1-2 months as bitcoin in the bull run right now, expected to reach $15K-$16k. Bitcoin succeed to break $14K resistance after a few times attempt and dips, now it's facing $14,500 resistance and $13,900 support level.
The volatility of the market is unavoidable, so just bear in mind to be careful and be patient wait for the right time to buy or sell at the right time according to your plans, manage the risk and your money.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hurray! Binance did it again on: November 04, 2020, 02:46:20 PM
Good job for Binance.

They're making it possible to recover those stolen funds by the project scammers. They are grandstanding for this news because it will give them another credit for being a good or might be the best exchange in doing things like this.

Is next the suing of those scam developers?

At first, I thought it was the insurance company that back-up Binance in case something like this ever happens, apparently it wasn't.
However it questionable as the scammer was willing to return the funds as 99,9% recovered.
it seems there will be no law enforcement or prosecution in this case.

After being contacted by Binance, the scammer returned the funds to the exchange.
CoinDesk asked the exchange if it had reported the scammer to law enforcement, but a reply hadn't been received by press time.
~
According to Binance, the undisclosed scammer was “quick to cooperate in an attempt to avoid the impending consequences.”

One of the top 10 btc wallets hacked
why do you think there is a hack involved?
all you provided were a bunch of transaction IDs from the blockchain showing that some coins moved from one place to another and the guesswork you read on some telegram group!

where is the real owner? where is the proof of that? where is the proof that this was sold on dark market and was real not just some fake file containing malware like they always do? where is the proof that this was actually cracked? and what kind of weak ass encryption was it using that it got cracked?

We can't say for sure, who knows whether it was the hacker or the owners that moved those bitcoins. But it connected to silk road.
The market may panic sell if those coins get into exchanges, but first it has to enter the mixer, then lost track of it.

69,370 Bitcoin from an address associated with the Silk Road darknet market.
According to a Nov. 3 report from crypto intelligence firm CipherTrace, the recent movement involving two transactions adding up to 69,370 Bitcoin (BTC) — or more than $960 million at the time of publication — originated from an address connected with the Silk Road marketplace, which was shut down in 2013. The crypto user first sent 1 BTC — likely as a test transaction — before moving the bulk of the coins.

“These movements could possibly mean that the wallet owner is moving funds to new addresses to prevent hackers from accessing the wallet.dat file or that hackers have already cracked the file.”

337  Economy / Economics / Re: Second lockdown in Europe can their economy survive this?. on: November 04, 2020, 04:28:47 AM
Did you see this:
"More than 700 km of traffic in Paris as second French lockdown begins" - source: https://www.euronews.com/2020/10/30/more-than-700-km-of-traffic-in-paris-as-second-french-lockdown-begins
As I see it's happening in some other big cities in Europe! People are running away from cities, lockdown in the apartment, without yard,  can really be crazy! Economy is on the break, after the first lock down and printing money like crazy I wonder what governments plan to do next!? To print more money maybe?! We all know how will that end, so people it's the time to getting into crypto more than ever before!
Well as I said before, it's going to get a lot worse before it gets better, like always!

France's second lockdown will restrict people to their homes until at least December 1.
No wonder why people flee the city and for them who don't have any other choice but to stay are not in doom, they still can go to work, school, and shopping for essential things. Well, the government and citizens have learned from the first lockdown what they have to do and don't. So, as long as they can reduce the number of people infected with the corona, it will be better for future economic growth rather than having to deal with many deaths due to this pandemic.
338  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it a good time to buy Bitcoin ? on: November 04, 2020, 01:57:58 AM
Hello guys do you think now is a good time to buy bitcoin for trading in cryptocurrencies not for holding it
because the current price looks too high for me (13500$) but im affraid that if i wait it will go more higher to 16k-20k
do you think BTC can fall again at least to 9000$-10000$ or that's not gonna happen and i need to buy it at this price ?

Today bitcoin price reaches $14K for a moment and then drops to $13,800, a volatile market obviously.
You can check some technical analysis where bitcoin is heading, mostly show that it will break $14K and may reach $15K by in this month.
No one can guarantee it will happen 100% but the sign and market sentiment leads there.
Don't invest what you can't afford to lose, you can wait as long as you want, but I doubt it will fall below $12K anytime soon.
339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Venezuela to Incorporate Bitcoin and Litecoin Wallets into National Remittances on: November 03, 2020, 01:04:02 PM
This is absolutely the right decision for them, besides Bitcoin and Litecoin are the best choice.

But not the right decision for citizens to use that national remittance service.
What is the point to send bitcoin or litecoin through government oversight if people could send it directly one to another wallet? without being unnoticed by the government and without paying fees that may be charged. The best way to spend it directly to merchants if there are some accept it as means of payment, no need to convert bitcoin/litecoin to petro or bolivar.
340  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New way to cheat with Bitcoin! be careful on: November 02, 2020, 10:17:47 AM
Obviously not a new way.
Even newbies in bitcoin community should aware of this kind of fraud, it's not a matter of newbie or not but how people think rationally.
if something is too good to be true and people have to pay something upfront with the lure of multiple returns, then it's more likely a scam.
Many people fall for another way of fraudulent, such as a scammer impersonate as someone or a website, people who don't check it carefully will be deceived.
