Yes, but you can always add more decimal places.

It is 8 places now and I wonder how "easy" would it be to change it?

Funny quote:

"Money can disappear from Bitcoin. It cannot work in the long run."

Bitcoin is infinitely divisible.

Is or could become?
323  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tracking on: July 26, 2012, 02:34:22 PM
Just jump forward a few years and mark every category 100%. But who cares? Some of the atoms in your body used to be in the body of a serial murder/rapist. I won't let it affect my view of you. This thread otoh...

You can say that you are just running a grocery shop in drug area, but isn't that mean that if 90% of your clients are drug guys and their family's then you helping them to live and play their business?

Made my head explode...

Really? Haven't you thought about it earlier?

If you want I can give you much more blowing examples... <devil face> Smiley
324  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tracking on: July 26, 2012, 02:32:18 PM
How do you know coins were stolen, or hacked, or gained by committing a crime? Who makes this determination? You?

As I said anyone can make his own list and publish it or keep for himself.
I do not want to do anything with that information, just good to know.
In example if there would be some Child Porn Related list and you will have some statistic knowledge that there is 2% of CPR BTC you could check some wallet and see that he have 8% of it so he probably is somewhere close.
What I'm saying is it could be very easy for everyone and government especially to track your money.

Two problems: how do you know such lists are accurate, and why would you want anyone, especially the government to track your money?

I don't say I want that, just it is easy and possible, so now or later someone will do that.

About accuracy, everyone can have their own lists, you do not have to trust any of them. One will trust USA gov someone else Palestinian etc.

It's just a knowledge.
And it is not so easy to get anonymous in this machine.

I esspecially want to point that this system is much more traceable than conventional money.

True, so maybe we can add some time decreasing factor? Now its better?

I understand that someone who born in Mexico could have lots of killers and drug related atoms in him, and you could be honest but have nasty neighborhood and that is the reason why you have lots of "bad" BTCs but if it's true why those bad guys paid you?

326  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tracking on: July 26, 2012, 08:33:02 AM
Are you somehow implying that money which was once used for a drug transaction is somehow worth less than money which was not? I dont see the point in this.

No not at all.
But you can get that knowledge for free if there would be software tool and some public databases.
327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tracking on: July 26, 2012, 08:29:51 AM
It is easier with paper money.

90% of all dollars have trace amounts of cocaine
http://articles.cnn.com/2009-08-14/health/cocaine.traces.money_1_cocaine-dollar-bills-paper-bills?_s=PM:HEALTH

It is not.
It just need a program to calculate where money comes and you do not need special lab to find or not cocaine.

329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Tracking on: July 25, 2012, 07:56:56 PM
Correct me if I'm wrong.
We can track every single Satoshi to its mining point.
So if we will collect a database of defrauded bitcoins transactions (for example transaction with which someone transferred funds to shop after what shop was stolen and we know that chief cracker/hacker is now using them)

So if we will build public database of bad transaction we can easy check how much percentage of our wallet comes from BTC known to this database.

For example everyone can provide his database. for example DEA can chow as a database of drug related transactions.
We can check how many % of this source money we have or anyone have and do with that knowledge anything.

My point is that bitcoin could easily let us to make mechanism showing

Wallet .... have:
2,9431%    BTC registered by DEA as Silk Road transactions
54,3259%   BTC straight from mining pools
0,1212%     BTC from Korea government (database address)
7,8932%     BTC from personal list of our foes
0,0234%     BTC of charity institutions registered @ database of sth..

and as well we can check someones wallet if he lets us to and for example if he have more than 8% of drug BTC dont deal with him
or do not accept BTC which we know wear at China government etc.

With graphical interface it would be great tool.
What do you think about that?
Is it possible?
Is that good idea?

In the first place I don't understand why the supply would increase?
It will as I know decrease double in 34 months.

The rate of increase will decrease (in about 4 months) but it will still be an increase.
There shoud be 3 to 4 months in my previous post.
OK, I did not understand correctly word supply, and still when I look into dictionaries supply and demand looks for me like a speeds of delivering sth. to the market rather than an amount circulating in it.
Just for curiosity could some native English speaker correct me if I'm wrong?
Because in my understanding in this case supply of bitcoins to the market is amount of bitcoin that people are willing to sell in some period of time (no matter if it is just mined or old BTC (mined years ago), so to describe a supply in a number we should use unit with number of goods divided by unit of time, am I wrong?

And It could increase in bitcoin just if people will start selling bitcoin faster, but I don't understand why could it be, if you meant that?

Could some english native could explain what supply exactly mean?

But it causes problems like change of structure of ownership moderation and administration.
Osiris can run in anarchic mode, where every user can decide who's moderator changes will be followed.

Example : users are divided in two groups. One support person A as moderator, Second group support person B as moderator.
Portal will split into 2, each part moderated by another person

Ideal, like a voting or sth, or like bitcoin protocol, which could split at some point eventually (or I misunderstood).
336  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Virtual Country. on: July 16, 2012, 01:13:16 PM
You can see Osiris forums by installing Isis ( webapp ) on a free hosting.
But users will NOT be able to post anything, the board will be read-only.
If they want to post they will need to install and use Osiris.

Anyway, now Osiris is closed source, the next version ( v1.0 ) will be completely open and it will be probably released at the end of this year. ( I'm a beta tester )

It's good, but it would be better with tech which allows to move or copy existing forum/s into distributed thing.

But it causes problems like change of structure of ownership moderation and administration.

I have already seen one tor forum at onion domain which owner moderator admin had disappear and no meter that forum was good prospering they had to move and create another one because of lack of admin account of anyone present during last 6 months.

Just add a communication board like a forum but without a forum holder
Osiris - Serverless Portal System
http://www.osiris-sps.org/

Looks good, I'll read the details.

Worst is that probably any of tech like that wont allow to browse sites using regular clean (without addons) browser.
But I'm hope I'm wrong.

Do you think is there possibility of building virtual-country?
Where citizenship is voluntary, where you always can quit where are some rights and rules but anyone can force it to you.

There are some bitcoiners who are wirtlanders:

It's closest to what I mean, I have ever seen.

340  Economy / Auctions / Re: I'll buy 8th wonderland dvdrip with english language audio or good subtitles. on: July 15, 2012, 09:42:23 PM
I can get you a version with English, French and German audio, although not the entire movie is English apparently. The release has English subtitles too just in case. I will leave you to decide the final price based on the quality of the movie.
Great, i look forwart to, but I want to wait for the end of auction if it is most English audio and other part is with subtitles, I'll pay you 1,2 (no matter the quality in some acceptable range, wide range) or if someone will offer lower price I will take his offer.

So we have now first offer 1.2BTC for movie with English audio, who will take less?

less than 1.2BTC for movie with audio
or
less than 0.6BTC for movie with good English subtitles only

Waiting...
