What does everyone have planned for their winnings ?

As I secretly bet under a few alternate, or sockpuppet accounts and proxies, I am looking forward to getting paid well over 5,000 BTC.

... as I fear it's far from over...

Nope it is over, indeed well and truly over, and it has been for while now, it was over even before it was over  Wink Nobody will get any money.

It is just denial and all the other stages of grief left.

Are you guys really gonna split hairs over a few hours? The payments are either gonna happen or not. Half a day or so isn't gonna change the outcome. This pettiness is just gonna leave the winner unpaid.

Matt was never going to pay anyone and he was never going to win.  Changing the deadline is just smoke and mirrors.

Trolloollloolloool.  Keep the drama going as long as possible.  In 8 hours or 17 hours or 47 hours he will have some other excuse as to why the bet isn't "yet" decided.

Read between the lines and you can pretty much figure out how MNW plans to pay. There are many possible sources for 50k BTC. And obviously GPUMax bitcoin magazine plays a role. Do you have ANY EVIDENCE that MNW won't give away 100% of pledges??  Roll Eyes

If some or much of it is from non-paying loans, then most likely it's because people borrowed money to invest in Pirate.

First-hand experience here. Sucks...

How many people tried to warn you? And not just about pirate. HYIPs are last thing that bitcoin needs. They are all the same, 1% or 7.

Even the slightest hint of a collusion with pirate, and no one will pay, its an unfair bet.

I think Matt may have had every intention of paying at first, but it grew out of hand, and now hes just going to see how high the community will push it...hell end up taking his scammer tags and say it was a lesson to teach us all about being greedy and how easy it is to be scammed. The irony being that no one got scammed, b/c very few expect him to pay.

I could be way off base, but that's what I think is happening here.

I think this too.

This is about as low as one can go, even pirate had better ethics. MNW openly stated he expected pirate to pay, and if pirate had paid, of course he would expect that bettors pay up to "teach them a lesson" about "calling scam without evidence", as he was clearly expecting. A hypocrite of the highest order.

As far as I'm concerned, MNW used his stature (as bitcoin magazine director and forum staff) in a pathetic attempt to scam a payday of his own on pirate's coat-tails.
334  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: September 07, 2012, 04:46:25 PM
In the end, when pirate doesn't pay, Mtthew will also not pay a single bet.

That will show to all team ponzi that they are as gullible for trusting him to pay the bets as pirate investors were on trusting pirate.

No, not as gullible. Pirate "investors" actually *deposited* their coins. MNW bettors only pledged them in a forum statement.

I can't believe that I'm posting. I totally believed Matt when he said he had 10k coins, but come on! 65k coins? Thats getting close to 3/4 of a million dollars. Either Matt knows something that we don't, or he's just accepting every bet that comes his was for amusement and is willing to take the scammer tag for a conversation piece. For that much money? is having a good name on this forum worth almost 1 million us? Its not even worth 100k us...

I mean, seriously, If I said I would pay up to 50k coins against pirate, would he say yes? so, that means his total liability would be well over 1million us fiat.

I think this thread went from semi serious to just flat out idiotic.. I can't believe im contributing to this mess...

So, I might as well bump me up to 50k coins, lol...

(Im kidding, as I don't have 50k coins to make the bet.)

I guess we will find out the truth on Monday, lol..

I have the same thoughts. MNW has been trolling since day 1...
337  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: Who Pays What? on: September 07, 2012, 12:54:52 AM
People pay 1% per week (and higher) on deposits because it their next cheapest source of funding - and that happens to be the market rate in this economy.  They happen to be able to generate higher returns, and thus leverage their positions.

There's no evidence that any of these deposit-takers can generate high returns. Just the monumental historical precedence of pirate. And it wasn't that long ago! Stop living in HYIP la-la land.
338  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion about 10,000BTC Bet (Official) on: September 06, 2012, 11:31:24 PM
The irony of this is that I remember Matthew actually being quite sceptical of Pirate's scheme.

From what I've gathered (and I could quite likely be very wrong), Matthew is trying to make a point and pirate's scheme has less to do with it than reactions from forum members do.

And what point would that be? A troll is as a troll does.

There's no non-troll reality where he would accept an additional 2500 BTC in bets, 3 days before he's due to pay.

Right now we have the Team Ponzi who dances around its "told ya" bonfire …

Only in your sick imagination. Even now you cannot stop trying to throw dirt at those who tried in vain to help you.

Nobody is dancing.

No dancing but we are laughing over here.
340  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Putting your money where Pirate's mouth is. on: September 06, 2012, 08:13:10 PM
The WoT is next to worthless now anyway. after all, pirate had the highest rating. Is he still an op in #bitcoin-otc? lol

That's not how you use it. This ain't Ebay, there is no "global highest rating". You have to check out *who* rated people highly, and it needs more time to let trusted users make a reputation.

It's trivial to spam 50 small accounts and have them all rate someone 10. Is the resulting 500-rating worth anything? Not really. But the WoT displays much more than that, and this is very useful and should become even more useful with time. Gribble also has a feature to find out how people you trust rated someone.

Its not about the raw rating, but instead the L2 rating.  How well is the person trusted by the people you trust?

pirate was rated highly by a bunch of other highly-rated people. everyone can see how easy it was to game that whole channel. is pirate still an op there?
