321  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ambivalent attitude to gambling on: June 22, 2023, 05:38:47 PM
Criticism
Criticism towards gambling persists, with the belief that these games have a detrimental effect on society by exacerbating wealth inequality and contributing to social issues.

What do you think? Why is there such a different attitude to gambling products and will it ever change?
Religion and the culture affects the whole perception to every gambler and we cannot change that one, what we can do is to accept it.
This is why most of the gambler prefer to gamble on their own and play online than to go to casinos. Different perception to gambling varies on every belief and culture, there's no way to change this one because religion comes a long way even before gambling. If this is against the belief of your community, expect to receive lots of criticism, just focus on what you think is right and be responsible for that.
Especially if you are living in a country which they treated gambling as a sin expect criticism because that their own belief , you just have yourself if you treat gambling as only a source of entertainment then let it be, as long as you are addicted and you did not treat gambling as your lord and you willing to sell all your belongings just to play. People who gamble always persecuted by many people who doesn't have the same belief as yours so be mindful and always protect your peace.
322  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who is to be blamed, the gambler or the betting agent on: June 21, 2023, 04:51:30 PM
There are dire consequences for agents to suffer if they let someone gamble in debt and let them gamble all day long. It's the agent's fault, but I don't think the agent will go bankrupt because of it. If the gambler defaults on the debt, then the agent does not benefit from the gambler's loss, and it is difficult for someone to repay that amount owed to the casino if the casino does not have guarantees from its customers.

On the other hand this is a good strategy to get a lot of money from customers, especially if the gambler loses. But frankly, this strategy is not recommended because it is clear that a casino should make its customers gamble for fun, not to cause them financial difficulties.
But most of the casino doesn't really care if the gambler will fall into larger debt just to play more, that is their business they are not charity. But yes, agents should be the one to be blamed, they are pushing some people to their limits or they just doing all what they can do so that people will take the bait. It should be not like that, but we should have our own decision and mind as well.

324  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gender in Gambling [differences between Women and Men in Gambling] on: June 18, 2023, 08:30:54 PM

Even without this research or hypothesis, it has always been clear that women gamblers are way lesser than men, like I mentioned in my previous comment, here in my country, women who gamble in the society are regarded as useless, waywardish, and if the woman is still a young unmarried lady, such a lady will hardly find a serious man to marry.
Overall, women are heavily stigmatized when it comes to gambling, but then, no more of such this days since online gambling have become really popular, most women can now gamble in peace, and no one in the society, not even a family member will know the lady is into gambling.

Yup that's what I am seeing even in my neighborhood they are men playing cards and some illegal gambling. But when it comes to mahjong here in our place more older women is playing maybe it is by the influence of our past eras wherein only privilege women are allowed to enter casino or play with their amigas. But I agree there's a lot of men playing, maybe that is because the interest of women is different from what is the interest of men, we all know that we are different in mindset and way of life.
325  Economy / Gambling / Re: We NEED Bitcointalk Members Feedback on Casino Challenges! on: June 16, 2023, 01:37:28 PM
Hi! I just checked the website, it looks good and neat maybe I just a little bit something to the font and to the footer. Overall thank you for trusting this forum to give you feedback and I love challenges as well! Also , I think putting "We will reply in a short while" instead of giving precise statement such as "We typically reply in under 4minutes" even though live support didn't show up in under 4mins but that's understandable don't get me wrong okay? just giving feedback , picture is little bit pixelated I think or it just me i dunno. Again, website is good just little bit need to polish it. Good Job , brother!
326  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never Expect Consistent Winnings From Gambling - A Lesson I Learnt. on: June 12, 2023, 08:04:22 PM
To be sincere with you, it is not exactly foolish to expect things to work out the way we envisioned it in our minds, but rather, it becomes foolish if we do not have a backup plan, that is, a plan B, something to fall back on just incase things at the end of the day didn't go the way we planned it.
People do take loans for various reasons, and purposes, some still gamble from the money borrowed, and not all of them that do that end up in the gutters, some still get lucky and win just as they had hoped, but then, others still lose their bet as well as the money, if they have a back up plan, the loss is usually not a big deal, but if they don't, that is where the problem lies.
Usually losses can lead to financial problems even if they have a backup plan. I mean, it's because they lost money that was borrowed money. I'm not sure what backup plan to think of when a gambler has used up that loan money over a few of their gambling sessions, will they get another loan and try to recover the losses?

Yes it is true, it will be another problem if the money that they used came from loan or they just borrowed it . It will not be good for them since the interest will getting bigger but they don't have anything to play with because they already lose the money they borrowed this will lead to another problem in the future and will cause them to frustrations because they can no longer pay for it , that's the sad part of it. So as much as possible I will not do borrow money or lend just for me to gamble because there's no assurance that I will win it all.
327  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Earning online more preferable than offline? on: June 09, 2023, 09:09:53 PM
Interesting topic reason, digital skills worth more as compare to traditional average market skills, If you are an expert in the domain then things are not that simple. These days people like to earn money by making their time valuable. Time is money the youth's tagline because now it's not the time to bring standard in life now it's time to bring quality in life. Soft skills such as trading, risk management, graphic designing, or any type of development are what provide the actual worth to your time.

Digital skills are important these days so if you don't have any pick anyone right now.

But you can do both, I am doing both things right now. When I earn from my digital market work I spend some of it in trading. Being a freelancer in this world is good thing because you can handle your own time and money. You can try different investments , you can monitor your assets sometimes, both can have a huge earning only if the one who trades knows what exactly he is doing.
328  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think Casinos Should Do Survey From Time To Time To Assess You. on: June 08, 2023, 04:59:24 PM
Casinos may do survey from time to time but as a business, the survey will be something like "satisfaction level" of their players related to their services. This kind of survey might be needed to improve their service as they will know what is wanted by players and what is not wanted. However if we are talking about survey to asses players related to money to spend, I dont think casinos need to do it because it is player's responsibility. If it is about VPN, maybe a survey is needed because there are still many issues happened related to the use of VPN.

Do you even think that people have that time to waste on going through their whole process in survey, the only captivation that may draw the interest of gamblers to enroll on this is if there's a attached bonus given on every completed stage of surveys made, bit if nothing aside giving them reward they may not give it a positive take in going through the whole process and the funny part of it all is that it will now be a continuous one from time to time.
Yeah, honestly I don't like survey it is kinda boring to me and waste of time for me that's why I think this kind of thing doesn't suit me. Even VPN, i think there's a lot of reason that's why they don't allow VPN, it will not only beneficial to the gamblers but also to some hackers and other intruders because they can bypass the system of a casino by doing that.
329  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you use a VPN on a casino, even if it is not allowed in their ToS? on: June 04, 2023, 06:53:04 PM
Of course not, why do I need to break the rule just for me to play in that casino? there is a lot of casinos everywhere in which I can play. Not following their rule will only give me problem in the future so better not to risk and try things that are not approve in ToS, and above all ToS should be read first in order for us not to abide all rules and will not cause issues in the future.
330  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is digital currency powerful? on: June 02, 2023, 02:40:00 PM
Compared to fiat currency, Digital currencies are very powerful in-terms of control. You can control your own coin. There is no interference from the government, no one can rob it or counterfeit it. You can use it globally and expand your business internationally. I don't find anything more powerful than this! what is your thoughts on it !
But the thing is we are the who will be fully responsible for that since we don't have any agency or govt that we can go to if things get bad because they cannot trace it nor they cannot see who will be the one who stole your assets. Digital currency is powerful and good result of innovating technology but just like other technologies it has a flaws and we should know and learn even the basics of it.
331  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Behavioural signs that suggest you are Addicted to Gambling on: May 31, 2023, 02:33:59 PM
I was browsing on the internet and stumble upon this article and found out that there are three kinds of gamblers. They are Professional gamblres, social gamblers and problem gamblers. The first two are okay but the third one which is the problem gamblers are the ones who are struggling with this addiction.

So I asked myself what behaviour would suggest that an individual is a problem gambler. Did some research and found many behaviour that suggest an individual is struggling with gambling addiction. Out of those I found the following five behaviours to be most common ones in a problem gambler.

  • Preoccupation with gambling.
  • The urge to increase wagers to achieve the same level of excitement.
  • Having difficulty in controlling, cutting back, or stopping gambling despite several attempts.
  • Lying about gambling activities.
  • Borrowing money to gamble.

As gambling addiction can be a challenging issue that can have a very harmful impact on an individual's life. it is always recommended to find a professional helpb rather struggling with it. Do you agree with those behaviours? If not then you can suggest some, that can be added to this topic.
#5 bro is the thing that I have done before, it is a shame but I borrow money to my mother last 2yrs ago so that I could bet on my favorite team in an esports. She didn't know that since he is always working and I am working as well but for me to satisfy my addiction that time I will invest a lot in different team on semi finals because I believe that the more team I will bet the more money I will be getting.
332  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Gcash Down? Unauthorized Transactions on: May 10, 2023, 03:37:47 PM

333  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Gcash Down? Unauthorized Transactions on: May 09, 2023, 05:27:09 AM
334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why can't regular flash drives store Bitcoin on: May 05, 2023, 09:16:56 AM
you can store bitcoin and any other stuff life your private keys. If you're flashdrive can't store bitcoin, i think there's a problem with that. Hard wallet is the one I trusted and it's going pretty well.

I think OP is a newbie. Op wants to have the feature of a hardware wallet but can't afford to buy it. But OP, you can hold Bitcoin or any other asset without using any hardware wallet. You'll need a piece of paper and a pen. That's it. Hide it until you are satisfied with the price of it. There's a tremendous advantage to holding it on paper, unlike in a hardware wallet. Some people who don't know Bitcoin or other crypto-currency will see your seed phrase and think it is just a useless paper with weird words, unlike in a hardware wallet they can search about and can cost you your life if they knew you have crypto-currency.

340  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does your country tax your gambling winnings? on: March 26, 2023, 01:45:48 PM
Yes, our country tax gambling winnings. For Lottery, Casino games, and e-sabong (online cockfighting), the tax would be a 20 percent withholding tax if it exceeds 10,000 in Philippine Pesos approximately ($185). I'm sure many people in our country don't pay taxes from winnings in gambling unless it's enormous. You can't avoid tax for sure if you win the lottery. Grin
