321  Economy / Economics / Re: ‘Bullish for Bitcoin’ — China Scraps Plans to Ban Cryptocurrency Mining on: November 09, 2019, 03:30:46 AM
It may contribute a little. Cryptocurrency mining not getting banned in China does not mean demand for Bitcoin. It does not add investors nor cause people to HODL their Bitcoin. If it has an effect, it is going to be more on those involved with cryptocurrency mining within the country itself. Those companies or people are the ones who will directly benefit from such decision.
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Concerns Raised About Facebook’s Digital Currency Libra on: November 09, 2019, 03:07:34 AM
CEO of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg has proposed to launch Libra in 2020. As a means of money transfer among facebook & WhatsApp users at an extremely low cost or even without costs at all. Initially, it looks like a very good idea, as there will be no boundaries and no paperwork need to transfer money all around the globe though certain concerns were raised regarding security and privacy issues.

Take a look here: https://coinpedia.org/news/facebooks-digital-currency-libra/

This is an old concern. This is probably one of the oldest concern raised as soon as the plan of Facebook to launch their own currency was reaching the people. And this is without any foundation. This is directly caused by the track record of Facebook in terms of keeping valuable and even very private information in their social media site. Security and privacy issues are where Facebook is low.
323  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Play Simple FOMO, an ETH-based lottery where the last player to enter wins all. on: November 09, 2019, 02:48:28 AM
Simple FOMO Round 1 has ended!

The winner (0xc54100fc034d412c21ba92ccf2d916374ac22555) has claimed a pot size of 2.190125 ETH. A more detailed analysis is to come.

I wish the winner has also a bitcointalk account so that he will come forward himself and testify that he indeed won this contest. And I hope he is not a newbie like you. I love this contest and its mechanics, and I also think a lot are also appreciating this but many have some doubts and reservations about how legit this is. A little assurance is needed for them for sure. With that, this will for sure increase the participants.
324  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Risks with using trading Signals on: November 09, 2019, 01:59:24 AM
I do not recommend following a trading signal. Maybe some will earn from it specially those who bought right away after the signal was announced but what about those who will buy 10 minutes later or 10 minutes after the announcement. If the coin is worth 0.0001 BTC when it was announced, after 10 minutes, that coin maybe worth 0.00015 BTC or even higher. Those who bought at 0.0001 BTC can sell it at that price already gaining 50% profits and what will happen to those who bought at 0.00016 BTC? They are going to be stuck holding that coin because they come in very late.
Those that follow signals do not really understand the market, if you were to look at how the most successful traders around the world became that way you will see that no one follows the signals generated by others, they have their own way to tell what they market will do and then when the market moves in that way they enter the market not caring about what anyone else thinks and until you can do that then you are not really a good trader.

Because an accurate signal will never hit the market. What will hit the market are vague signals that are sold at a premium. These signals are coming from people who are not even experts themselves. These are people who are failing in trading even after they studied a lot about crypto trading. And to save these skills from becoming a total garbage, they are selling signals that are not really going to take place.
325  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Risks with using trading Signals on: November 08, 2019, 03:16:11 PM
It is because there is no such way as risk-free. There is no easy way for trading, especially crypto trading. Signals are not guarantees that everything will make you a profit in the end. It is a possibility, and always a possibility, that signals could either be good or bad. Bad signals actually abound, especially signals that you can easily access through social media sites such as twitter, facebook, and telegram.
326  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do long term holding profitable in all cases? on: November 08, 2019, 11:20:44 AM
Should I continue holding my ethereum? Am a believer of long time holding but am currently beginning to lose faith due to fact that I have been experiencing constant decline in my major coins that I have been holding since late 2017. The coin in question is ethereum which I have been holding since when its value was around $1,300 and now its value is now less than $200 per one.
Should I continue holding my ethereum?

Yes. There is no problem with Ethereum and the entire market. The problem as I see it is that you bought Ethereum when it was very expensive, specifically during those times when Ethereum was near its all time high. That was a wrong time for me. And now, you are forced to continue to have patient and HODL them until that price will be reached again, which will not be soon I am afraid. If you have trading skills, why don't you try gaining a little from your current amount of ETH? That is an option for the meantime.
327  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to learn bitcoin trading? on: November 08, 2019, 10:58:41 AM
I have invested in bitcoin, and i would like to learn about trading bitcoin to hopefully maximize both my current and future investments.

Since i am completely new to the world of crypto i would appreciate it if more knowledgable people have any good resources or tips to share. Both for (hopefully) profiting from trading, and for practical tips on how to reduce fees, maximize security in a practical manner and anything else that is necessary and/or helpful in my quest to accumulate bitcoin.

If you want to trade in crypto, you should try to learn charting first. Learn to use different tools to analyze charts. This is not easy of course. But you are not required to learn to use all the tools. You may use one or two to start with. Aside from this, you should also learn to research about the different coins' fundamentals. And then you go to your chosen exchange platform. Make sure that your exchange platform has a high volume for their trading pairs for liquidity. Explore and try demo trading accounts first before depositing minimum amount of BTC or ETH first for trials purposes.
328  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Play Simple FOMO, an ETH-based lottery where the last player to enter wins all. on: November 08, 2019, 10:39:03 AM
Simple FOMO
Round 1
Status: Final 24 Hours

Simple FOMO is a new game theory based lottery that rewards the last person to enter the lottery with the entire pot when the deadline expires. Each time a person enters the game, the deadline is potentially extended based on how close that person is to the deadline. Also, as more people enter the pool, the cost to enter the game increases. The entire game is ran on a publicly viewable trust-less smart contract.

The initial pot size is 2 ETH.

The initial cost to enter is 0.001 ETH.

The initial deadline is Nov 8th, 2019 11:16:00 UTC.

I have to be honest, I like the rules. They are simple and straight to the point. There are no other complicated mechanics for interested players. But why is this not reaching a wider audience? 0.001 ETH is pretty low already for the chance of winning more than a couple of ETHs. I am interested to join but only if I have all the available time that I want. I don't want to be contributing ETH to other people. Lol. I want to join and win.
329  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is crypto-powered social network a trend? on: November 08, 2019, 10:12:57 AM
I could if there's an actual reward for it. Unlike Facebook, they don't share their revenue with their users. But if a crypto-blockchain based social media has come and they're rewarding their users on a daily basis even with limitations, I think I'll use them. Just look with Brave Browser, the popularity of it spread like wildfire because of its reward system. And not just that, because of its low consumption to our RAMs as an alternative to chrome, people used it.
This comparison is enough to see the upcoming revolution in the social media platforms, it becomes addictive after first use for the experienced tech-savvy guys. As an alternative to the old fashion Explorer, the browser product of Google changed the look of browsing the internet and the chromium-based alternative browsers compete until today for hitting the best place. The same idea is actual for the blockchain reward distributes social media crypto startups.
There should be a continuous development not just for these browsers as you have given as an example. It's fairly enough to start rewarding users so that they can continue to contribute to each other. Users contributing to the platform, while the platform rewarding the users as sort of recognition for their users. But this kind of business model wouldn't be taken by the old type of social networks because it's kind of hard for them to adjust if this is going to be their case.

If the kind of browser that is started by Brave will become the trend nowadays especially in this age of cryptocurrency, other browsers must have to think of ways to compete or else they will follow the footsteps of Yahoo when Google, Mozilla, and other players came into the game. Google has generated billions of profit out of it and they did not even reward a few cents to the users. Brave is earning the support of many because of its reward system.
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who is the most interesting / fun person in the crypto space? on: November 08, 2019, 09:52:05 AM
If you could choose one person from the crypto space to spend an evening or a weekend with, who would that be?

I would probably be spending my evening or weekend with Vitalik Buterin. The man looks a genius to me and when he speaks he speaks with very detailed explanation and technical knowledge. Unlike other cryptocurrency personalities who are saying a lot but not saying enough about technical details, Vitalik is rather different. He does not even talk about a lot of marketing details and conferences that other crypto personalities do.

Stellar Lumens (XLM) to Post Another 37 Percent Gain after Recent Pump, Crypto Trader Says

A crypto trader expects XLM to grow another 37 percent before it hits resistance, while the community is heatedly discussing the recent token burn
https://u.today/stellar-lumens-xlm-to-post-another-37-percent-gain-after-recent-pump-crypto-trader-says

Apparently yesterday there was a big pump? I do not know because the notification in my application does not sound, I am very disappointed to know this.

Yeah. Stellar Lumens (XLM) indeed rose from around 743 Sats to around 900 Sats. That was not yesterday though. I think it happened last November, 5 2019. That was a high percentage pump turnout after the development team announced that the project has successfully burned a total of 55 billion XLM. That was a big news to all supporters of XLM. That must have caused massive buying. But then it has slowly went down ever since that pump.

Is it true that 55 billion were burned? This is very beneficial for lumen holders, prices will definitely continue to rise towards the end of the year, I can't wait for that.

As I have clearly stated in my post, the Stellar Lumens team burned a total of 55 billion XLM tokens. If you take a look at the information of the Stellar project in coinmarketcap, the total supply indicated there is already 50 billion. The total circulating supply does not anymore appear tiny compared to the total supply. The current circulating supply is almost 50% or half of the total supply. But I doubt the token burning will cause a consistent pump until the end of the year. That is too long an effect of the burning.

333  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will BNB reach $50 This Year? on: November 08, 2019, 08:41:18 AM
This thread was created last May 2019 but it seems the price of BNB is still not showing any sign that it will be able to reach $50. Less than two months before the year 2019 will end, BNB is still at $20. Although it is still possible, there is no sign in sight for an increase of more than x2 for BNB. Likewise, the chart is not showing that BNB will hit $50. In fact, if BNB will be able to recover everything from its previous ATH, it will not even reach $40.
334  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can there be a bull run for XLM? on: November 08, 2019, 08:18:28 AM
Was reading new and came across this article by coin telegram.

What is your call? Will there be a XLM bull run?

No, there will not be an XLM solo bull run anytime soon. I think the recent 20% plus growth which happened quickly after the Stellar (XLM) team decided to burn 55 billions of XLM was the last within this year. But I am not saying that XLM will not be able to increase in price within the year although it has to be along with other altcoins, unlike what happened with its recent pump very recently which was accomplished alone.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Need suggest invest in small amount on: November 08, 2019, 04:55:37 AM
As someone already asked, how much do you plan to invest, what risk tolerance do you have, and what sort of returns are you looking for?

Safest way to go would simply be to invest more into BTC.

NOBODY can reliably tell you what IEO is a good investment, by the way. Asking folks here what coins to invest in will simply get you a list of what others invested in... doesn't mean they are good projects.

OP is saying he has $279 in Bitcoin and $62 in Ethereum, he might have meant to ask where he should invest them.

I think you, OP, should leave your coins that way until December. If you really want to invest, try investing in solid altcoins. Do not choose ICO or IEO over existing tokens if what you have is that amount. That is very limited. If you wish, you may get a hundred USD from your Bitcoin portfolio and put them in altcoins such as Litecoin or Ripple or add them to Ethereum. They will grow not just in USD value but also in Bitcoin value. That is like earning double.
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETHEREUM is only potentially $ 250 in November. on: November 08, 2019, 04:18:15 AM
I predict the price of Ethereum until the end of November is only up to $250 at its highest point. even then, if two resistance of $209 and $225 can be achieved.

following as my prediction. what about your prediction?

Sounds reasonable. I don't think the market is in any sort of state for a massive bull run at the moment.
Yes, we've seen some positive movement, but nothing to indicate we're getting ready for a huge breakout.
$250 could happen.
that's might can to happen or maybe not, because it's just a prediction and I think by the end of this November Ethereum will still be holding under $ 200 because there really still isn't any sign of a major increase and the current market conditions are still stable. yes I know this is only our prediction and do not be too believe in the prediction because it will not necessarily happen.

The days left in November is still over 20. Ethereum is already at $187. That is only $13 short of $200. $13 could be gained in just a matter of minutes by Ethereum. That is true and that can be supported by a lot of historical data of Ethereum. This November alone, I surmise that Ethereum will break the $200 resistance and go on around $250. But it has to be put side by side with Bitcoin's situation also because if Bitcoin will suddenly create a spike, altcoins might be affected.
337  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: DOGE reaches 30sats! Do you think it could go higher now? on: November 08, 2019, 03:47:37 AM
Well, a rallying DOGE would only mean one thing: The altcoin traders are back. And with them, the medium-term investors will follow  and the newbie crypto virgins will follow suit, looking for a coin that will bring 4Xs.

A rallying DOGE would mean better days for the entire altcoin world. It also means the price of Ethereum and other top altcoins are also pumping.

And the newbie crypto virgins will buy when the prices are already high. And they will lose because by the time the prices will correct, they will panic and they think that the market will crash and therefore they will sell.
338  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin using or need! Vs stable coins on: November 08, 2019, 03:25:27 AM
Stablecoins are like fiat. And if they are like fiat, they are not breaking from the system within which fiat works. That would be in contrast to the idea of cryptocurrency or Bitcoin. They are backed by fiat. Their value is pegged on fiat value. And they are also minted in as many as possible. That is not the design of Bitcoin, which is the top and leader of all coins. Cryptocurrency should be following the path of Bitcoin in terms of having a fixed total supply which cannot be tampered with.
339  Economy / Economics / Re: Where's my free money? on: November 08, 2019, 03:05:55 AM
I was promised like 250k by McAfee in BTC value.

When's the price gonna skyrocket like the last 8 times? Tell me plz time travelers.

Lol. Did McAfee call you and made a deal with you? Just like many of the members here promoting all kinds of projects and sites, John McAfee is also just promoting projects that pay right. John McAfee have shilled for many altcoin projects in the past. I don't think he would do that without any amount involved. Did you buy one of the coins that he tweeted? Don't jump into it. His words cannot cause hype anymore.
If the OP met Mcafee in personal, I would say that they had an agreement but if he just saw a Mcafee from telegram, it was a bait. John Mcafee is a celebrity and a well-known cryptocurrency promoter. He successfully promoted a large number of ICOs and I am pretty sure he will not shill anything because his name might be burned.
John Mcafee is a real crypto knowledgeable person so if the OP lose something, I think it is not anymore the concern of Mcafee.

The name John McAfee is not as reliable as you may imply in your post. If you think John McAfee will not shill anything because of his name, then you are probably mistaken. And if you take a look at this man's words relating to cryptocurrency, you will see that he has already shilled many projects, not just Bitcoin but a number of altcoins also. John McAfee is of course a knowledgeable person but is also a man who says before he even thinks.
340  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sometimes its wise to Listen to your heart on: November 08, 2019, 02:18:14 AM
Ranks are not everything. It does not mean to say that a legendary member here on this forum, for example, is always better than the members, even junior members and newbies. But this is not all about listening to your heart. There is nothing reasonable in the heart. It is where emotions are boiling. What happened to you must be something that ultimately coming from your head or mind. If it was not then I think it was all about instinct or impressions created by your observation about the said projects.
