321  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who bought Bitcoin in late 2017? Still recovering or fully recovered? on: January 22, 2020, 03:06:37 PM
It would be frustrating if we bought bitcoin at a high price like the end of 2017, which was a bad experience for so many newcomers at the time. bought for $ 17000 but later panic at $ 5000-7000. They have made a lot of losses when investing in the wrong time, and at the moment there are very few people holding bitcoin since 2017, most of them have cut losses from 2018 or sold it when the bitcoin price goes up $ 13000 in 2019
It would be kind of frustrating indeed. Fortunately, I didn't felt any FOMO that time, as far as I remember I do only sell back in the day though I speculate that Bitcoin will grow even further but luckily for some reason I didn't buy. I only purchase Bitcoin when market made a drastic drop which is a good thing since I can sell them right away if next halving would be good.
322  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: By now, is it worth to invest in major altcoins for the long term? on: January 21, 2020, 03:48:10 PM

I have been hearing that even major altcoins are gradually losing its value.

For long term investment purpose, no more investing in major altcoins recommended?

I don't think major altcoins losing its value, probably this is just because we are in bearish market that is why most of them are drowning and even the Bitcoin itself are facing this bearish trend. However, I have been observed this lately that these coins are gradually recovers and that it the prove that it won't lose their value. Talking with investment, always choose major altcoins, the fact that they will give an enough amount of rewards as the market goes well.
323  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Excessive confidence in cryptocurrency trading. on: January 21, 2020, 03:16:20 PM
Some traders and investors think that when trading with crypto currency, one must be bold and confident and make quick decisions. Is excessive confidence in cryptocurrency trading better than doubt and fear, or is it a big drawback?
Having confidence upon your trading is good but having too much of it doesn't make it look good. Excessive confidence might lead on taking a high risk opportunity that could cause loss and so as for lacking of confidence. Besides, I don't think that over confidence will work out in this kind of market the fact that fluctuation rate is not what we think of.
324  Economy / Speculation / Re: Monday Is the Best Day to Buy Bitcoin? on: January 21, 2020, 02:44:03 PM
Nah, I don't believe such day time to buy Bitcoin because as long as I am convenient to buy due to various reasons I will buy no matter what day or time it is. There's no definitive day when will the price starts to dump or pump that's why buy at your own risk and that's how you will manage your risk of investment. A simple buy low and sell high will prove it all.

That's right, I don't believe it either because the price can go down in any days from Monday to Sundays, the chart that we are looking now that shows Mondays is just a coincidence because if it's not then it would be that easy to trade. The price can be affected by many factors and the price changes anytime with no specific day or what.
Even though Monday, it can't be a signal to buy, if the analysis technique is not suitable for buying, stay away, wait until the price is really below and ready to go up, I know this is approaching the Chinese New Year so be careful to trade
Do you think Chinese New Year will have an impact on the market? I only saw when Christmas, there was no big impact on prices. maybe when the weekend market is quite crowded so when it falls on Monday some people do sell off.
I don't think that Chines New Year will have an impact on the market simply because people won't sell any of their holdings just for that event, they have fiat of their own to spend in this event.
I usually buy Bitcoin on Thursdays and Sundays depending on the market situation in each week, and then I sell them all when the market enters Monday of the following week. That's how I often make short-term profits for bitcoin, sometimes I get a lot of profit with this approach. But besides that I also lose because this rule is not always true
Now regarding what day I usually purchase Bitcoin, it is random. I mean if I have seen the Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are drowning I will buy right away regardless of what day it is. Besides, as what OP shows on his chart I think it is just a coincidence that downs happens in Monday.
325  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Before I Invest With Cryptoqurrency? on: January 19, 2020, 02:50:12 PM
Obviously, there is no question of becoming an expert cryptocurrency before starting to invest. It is important to be well informed so that you can form your own opinion about a cryptocurrency. Do not hesitate to take your time before investing in a project. It is better to miss a good opportunity from time to time than to go headlong into projects that will make you lose money.
Absolutely right, before entering in an investment or project you must really have an idea about the project. Conduct some research about their project starting from their whitepaper, developers, the background of the project and if they will able to meet their goal. Honestly, I don't like to miss the good opportunity but you have an undeniably good point that you should take your time preparing for your project you are going to invest to.
326  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: handling bitcoin volatility on: January 19, 2020, 02:15:56 PM
Everyone who has ever traded for more than a couple of hours have had episodes where their trades are wrecked because of bitcoin volatility reflecting on the whole market.

What tips do you guys have regarding protecting yourself from bitcoin sudden moves?
Volatility is one of the nature of Bitcoin that is why we need to consider upon making a trade. Talking with the tips, perhaps I would say that don't be greedy and don't rush it all. If you saw Bitcoins dump right now, just wait because Bitcoin will eventually rise. But if you can't handle the Bitcoin's volatility I would recommend for you to go in long-term investment.
327  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anyone here dream of achieving their financial goal in life through gambling? on: January 19, 2020, 01:34:31 PM
For people who does not have enough income to live a comfortable life, we try to find ways to end the struggle, we take big risk to gain big rewards so if we will be successful, we don't need to work anymore and just enjoy the rest of our life doing the things that we can't do due to lack of money.

are you one of the people who dream like this?
No, I'd never had any thought of getting big profit through gambling since first of all I already knew that there's a low chance of winning in there. Even if you have enough amount of luck it would not be sufficient for you to win. Besides, I don't think gambling would be a good way to end the struggle but rather I think it will make even worse. If you prefer to take a big risk to gain big rewards then investing in cryptocurrencies would be further reasonable.
328  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price on: January 19, 2020, 12:58:45 PM
I had a bitcoin but withdrew like a month and half ago on coinbase to pay some college loans especially since the value kept dropping.  Obviously not the case now, I have $4,000 in the bank, what can I do now to make the best of bitcoin or can you give me strategies as it starts rising again?
Well, I'll just recommend you to purchase right now while it's not too late because Bitcoin halving is getting close because there is some speculation that Bitcoin will enter the bull trend. However, if bitcoins price goes well then you could still HOLD it and that is the strategy I can give, just HOLD and wait till the right time comes that you think would be profitable enough for you then sell.
329  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: No one ever sells, nor buys anything in BitCoin.. Think this is wrong, read on! on: January 19, 2020, 11:12:28 AM
It is already there, rules are already set but the thing here is that they still don't accept bitcoin as it is. These stores accept bitcoin through their wallet which is a fiat wallet where bitcoins are automatically converted to fiat. Despite them using bitcoin, it is still in fiat and that is really sad.

No matter if they convert it to fiats or let is stay the same currency, as long as they are pushing peoppe to use cryptocurrency, it is never a mistake by them to add bitcoin and altcoin to their system. Today, what we need are the kind of stores like these, they might not find the true value of bitcoin, still, they are the mediators of sdoption for people that are open to accept bitcoin as it is, hodl it, and keep it as valuable.
what is needed is the adoption of bitcoin for daily needs, so that it can spread to many people. at this time although there are some shops that accept payments via bitcoin, but I see it is not optimal, so it only has a small effect on cryptocurrency, on the other hand the role of government is needed to socialize bitcoin
the problem is the fluctuation of bitcoin which makes most people still think of accepting bitcoin. besides that you can also see the transaction speed of bitcoin and the amount of fee might be a little heavy for those small shops accepting payments using bitcoin. but of course there are so many altcoins that might be an alternative, not necessarily bitcoin.
I also think that Bitcoin could be hard for people to use it in daily lives the fact that the volatility rate is too high yet transactional fees are expensive. Hence, I think it would be much better if we will use other cryptocurrencies like Ethereum or Ripple who don't have expensive fees and better speed. Talking about adoption, I think we are slowly getting into it as a matter of fact there are some stores are already accepting it as payment but I think in order to achieve this full adoption our government should make the first move.
330  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Experiment , generate more bitcoin by buying TOP 10 alt-coins 2020. on: January 18, 2020, 02:51:46 PM
I prefer to focus on top alts now like eth, Tron, litecoin. Seems like we are nearing the bullish trend very soon, because BTC is doing really incredible. For small investors this could probably be the best chance to make use of this market, hopefully the market will gear up and comeback stronger than before.
I do prefer to invest in top-performing altcoins as wells such as Ethereum, Ripple, BNB and more since they already have proven themselves that they are worthy of my investment. Not gonna lie, I am having a doubt to invest in new altcoins the fact that most of it are trash and it is too risky for me to handle, I know the more risk the more profit it will be but still I won't take it. Top-ranked coins because usually as Bitcoins grow up they tend to the same yet they have the largest volume in the entire market thus, there's a high chance for you to earn a high return.
331  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie looking for some strategic advice on: January 18, 2020, 02:11:01 PM
You said you already have some good coins that you know are likely to increase in price if you should invest in them for long term, in about six months to one year, so I would suggest that you start with long term trading. There has been a lot of speculation that Bitcoin price will increase after the halving.

People are saying this because after the last two halving there was increase, so they are believing that same thing is likely to repeat itself and I have seen some people do some serious technical analysis to prove this. And another reason you should start with long term is because it’s easier than the other ones you have mentioned.
But it is just speculations and we are not sure if the price will really increase after the halving. For those newbies, your focus should first to understand the price action. Strategies won't work if you still do not know how to read price and trends. It is really important to understand the market first in order for us to have high winning rate ahen are trading. Long term trading is also more preferable than short term trasing for those newbies.
It may be just speculation and there's low chance for it to happen but still, we cannot remove the fact that Bitcoin and the whole market are unpredictable hence, there's a probability that Bitcoin will pump after the halving and there's also a chance for it to dip even more. Since we don't know how the market behaves then I would recommend for you to buy Bitcoin right now, HOLD it for a moment and wait for the right time to come then sell, by that way you will have your return without exposing your investment into much risk. And that is why I am very fond of long term investment so I would highly recommend this for newbies.
332  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we overcome our gambling addiction! on: January 18, 2020, 01:35:25 PM
There's a story that my mom told me, it's about my uncle who once became a gambling addict that there comes a time where he sold most of their things in their house just to find money to gamble. The worst thing that my uncle did is to pledge their house just to satisfy his gambling pleasures.

I know it's not easy to overcome this situation especially when you're already in your point that you want to get back everything that you have lost. You keep on gambling thinking you can earn everything back. Actually, we're already lucky enough if we continuously win the game but even our luck has its own limitations. Without noticing it, our wins are slowly turning into losses.

I also know that some of us here will just put their attention on different things to avoid too much gambling. But in reality, it's just easy to say but harder to do. There's no easy way if you really got attached to gambling. But in your opinion or personal experiences, how do you overcome your addiction to gambling?

Well, I am not very sure if this will be effective but I think you should let totally get out from it, leave all behind what you have in gambling and don't ever play again.  I know it seems impossible but you can make it feasible through the help of your family. I doubt that you can manage it alone, diverting your attention to something else by yourself would not totally get you out from it because I do believe it is a human nature that once a person devotes himself to something he wanted to do it would be impossible for him to quit. Thus, support from his family would be essential to move out this harmful iniquity.
333  Economy / Speculation / Re: Return of the bull? on: January 18, 2020, 11:22:37 AM
Bitcoin is silently pushing up for the past few days, what could be the reason, could it be because of the halving coming up later or that the bulls are back in town.
I also initially thought that the rise in the price of bitcoin was triggered by the halving that would occur. it's just that, after a while of reading the information available, many speculate that the current price increase is due to a heated relationship between Iran and America. well, if this is outside halving, then the price of bitcoin will rise to a higher level if supported by halving that will soon happen.
Well, I also believe that Bitcoin pump because of the conflict between the United States and Iran the fact that they were using Bitcoin as a safe haven but I suddenly realize maybe not. Actually, we are not sure what causes why Bitcoin pumps the fact that there a lot of factors could influence the price for instance, the nearby Bitcoin halving could be another factor.
334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China & The Bitcoin on: January 18, 2020, 04:26:08 AM
Seemingly in the news we hear how China is anti Bitcoin

The media are quite mistaken, as usual.  "China" is more than just its government.  If everyone in China was anti-Bitcoin, then the media can report that "China is anti Bitcoin".  But as it stands, that's clearly not the case.  Bitcoin does not require approval from governments in order to function, so it doesn't matter if the government of a particular nation don't like it.  The fact that all those Bitcoin users who are based in China are willing to act against the wishes of their government speaks volumes.  It means we clearly have something to offer if they're prepared to risk attracting attention from an authoritarian regime and the benefits must outweigh the potential ramifications for them.
Exactly. Probably the one who hate Bitcoin and the rest of cryptocurrencies are the just their government the fact that these kind of currencies are decentralize that would make for them to monitor. Besides, they might not totally hate the fact
that they got the higest position of Bitcoin mining pool. And if they totally hate it they can ban it and any related transaction regards with it but instead they only banned the exchanges as I remember.
335  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin Bleeding on: January 17, 2020, 04:09:26 PM
There's time for every market when Altcoins season comes it will increase in price same way Btc has been increasing. Now look the market barely a month since your post was made, there has been an increase in the Altcoins market.
The Altcoin markets has not been steadily increasing, there might be some price increase but not that high enough to get profitable gains, and then it would fall down double or triple of what is had increased so basically altcoins is not the best options for invesments exept those that are establsih. BTC still best and safe for your invesments.
Bitcoin is really the best the fact that it is the safest to place your investment but much better if you will still invest in some of altcoins. Now talking about the market, I also observe that it is slightly increasing, but I am not pretty sure what the reason is, probably because the Bitcoin halving is nearby. Altcoins tend to goes up I think because Bitcoins is now making a move, if we are going to look back as Bitcoin enters the uptrend, altcoins are getting affected.
336  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hottest alts of 2020 on: January 17, 2020, 03:17:25 PM
What do you think the hottest alts will be this year?

Very interested in getting strong opinions on this.

Why dont you tell us your opinion first? If you are asking this way, everyone will obviously shill their own bags. But yea lets give it a try, my top picks are:

1. Dogecoin
2. Mooncoin
3. Venezuelan Petro
4. PotCoin
5. TrumpCoin
6. PutinCoin and Putin Classic
7. Whoppercoin
8. Unobtanium
9. Cat Coins
10. Useless Ethereum Token

Edit:

Sorry forgot about:

11. UFOCoin and 12. F*** Token

I have never heard these list of coins you have except for Doge. Do they really have something to offer and have what it takes to make it big this comings months? I would still consider establish coins like ETH, XRP, to make a huge run and see how far they can go.
I am not familiar to those token as well. The risk is to much high to handle though we know that the more risk it got the more profit it will be. However, I will still stick to the top performing alts like ETH, XRP, and BNB just like totoy4741 mentioned. Besides, these coins are have prove their worth to place your investment.
337  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do Not Trade By The News, Follow The Price Action on: January 17, 2020, 02:16:27 PM
There are tips that saying sell on the news and I always cringed if I hear or read about it. Following the price action is the best way in order to grow our capital. We should be a technician and not a fundamentalist. If we follow the price action, then we can know the best time to enter and exit in the market. Chart do not lie so after all so we should focus on improving our technical analysis skill than to enhance fundamental analysis skill.
News can be use as a guide somehow but not entirely hence don't rely on it too much. Much better if we will follow our own intuition that we can get out from the market chart. It is better if we will have our own technical analysis out from the chart, learn how the market behaves and make an analysis out of it. Use all the resources you know that can be helpful such as News and articles in order to create your own.
338  Economy / Speculation / Re: My opinion about the price movement of BTC on: January 17, 2020, 09:16:07 AM
A very good observation, mate, and by following the Bitcoin price chart, now we can be sure that Bitcoin price is going to break the 9K USD zone. It can be the start of the most wanting bull run, as the altcoin market is growing too. So, we can hope 2020 will be a better year for crypto.
Bitcoin has increased, now just waiting for the coming altcoin season, indeed Bitcoin must be consolidated first because to reach high prices altcoin must survive
I'm having a thought that if Bitcoin enters the ATH other cryptocurrencies will be the same just like what have happened a year ago where the market is hype. Bitcoin will eventually enter the $9k zone before the halving the fact that most of the coins in the market are now having a good run.
339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Daily Living on: January 17, 2020, 06:11:46 AM
I am very happy if that bitcoin can be used for daily without converting to fiat. But in reality, not all countries disgusting bitcoin
as payment, one of which is the country where I live prohibits bitcoin from being used for payment. Which means me I can't use
bitcoin daily. I can only use bitcoin on financial crypto. Hopefully, the bitcoin popularity will increase will make many countries
start to legalize bitcoin as a payment tool.
Same as you pal. Unfortunately, Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies cannot be used in our daily expenses thus you need to convert it first into fiat before to spend. I do hope that sooner Bitcoin would be acknowledge and authorize the utilization of this currency not only on online but also in real life. Though there are some countries who have already implement this kind of monetary but this would not be enough participation of big enterprises are also needed.
340  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can bitcoin touch 9k USD next month? on: January 16, 2020, 10:22:56 AM
As I predicted bitcoin going to touch 10k soon by this year.
many suggested it can't be,
many suggested it will go down again.
but recently bitcoin has grown up from 7k to today 8.6k.
Now I am prediciting bitcoin price by next month or end of this month will touch 9k.
whats you guys say?
The crypto market is now by -1.86% and it is not suprisingly because the pump we only seen might be just a trap. Some speculation are saying that Bitcoin will drop more as we getting near at Bitcoin halving and expected to skyrocket after that event. But I do still believe that the market will now recover and if this happen we might eventually seen the Bitcoin will touch $9k by the next month.
