Personally, I think that the most promising altcoins in 2020 are Ethereum, Litecoin. Since there are good forecasts for their growth. And in 2020 they will bring a very big result from investments.

I didn't share my opinion because I wanted to get an actual sampling of what people think . 

Now, that said, since I did ask everyone their opinion, I'll gladly share mine.  I'm really into the next-generation coins:

• Cosmos
• Polkadot
• V Systems
• Litecoin
• Zcash

Sure, Polkadot hasn't launched yet, but seems a very interesting project.  Cosmos & V Systems because of the strength of their team and technology.  V Systems seems to attract quality projects.   Litecoin because it's basically Bitcoin .  Zcash because it still seems to be the best privacy solution running.

Personally, I think that the most promising altcoins in 2020 are Ethereum, Litecoin. Since there are good forecasts for their growth. And in 2020 they will bring a very big result from investments.

Anyone investing in Ethereum in this year 2020 is on for a big waste. The coin has never done any significant changes since it emerge. Its more like it is stagnant without changes.
I still think Bitcoin should be the main focus but coins like Cardona, Ripple, Stellar and Tron could have good changes.

Anything involved with decentralized finance will probably pick up in 2020.

That means we're looking at Ethereum, Waves, Augur, Decred, EOS and a handful of others.

Also, I think staking coins will pick up momentum in the next year as people start turning to less volatile assets after getting wrecked over the past couple of years (like me.)

If Ethereum switches to POS in the next year, then it could be due for one hefty bull run, since it will essentially be at the intersection of both trends.

Definitely worth keeping an eye on IMO.

Still I prefer the top altcoins for now, and of course I am giving chance and opportunity for some altcoins too, but for now, still looking for the new project what they will give and what's their difference to other project, I am just taking it easy for now and will observe first in few months before I will finally decide to invest.

Ethereum as usual and Tezos might do perform well too for this year. But you must not rely on people's choice of bags, you must have your own factors to choose from these coins. You will have hard time with that but it's worth it if you are the one who has set standards.

This hottest alts in 2020 are undoubtedly the ones that have good technology and it is in the fast recovery phase.  The alts such as BSV, Dash, ETC, BCH are really showing its value.  It's growing very strong and doesn't seem to stop.  so we can follow the trend now and its value may soon grow even more.  because the halving event will lead to stronger alts.

I have a list of hot altcoins, it's a top 100 on CMC. Most of them are hot for years, and some will be red-hot in the near future. Altcoins like Ethereum, Litecoin, XRP. Binance coin, Monero, and many others. We can say that here on the forum we talked about buying more of them and holding them for the future. Depend on how long you will choose the altcoin as an investment place. I just thinking that the oldest altcoin such as ETH, litecoin and etc are suitable for you to choose them as long term investment. But when you meed short term investment maybe you can find them on an IEO project.

Choose an exchange which has reputable and pick one project when the exchange launch an IEO. At this time this way is really promissing, there are a lot of investor who says that they gain more then 10x profit from their capital. But you must be careful when intend to hold it for long term investment because usually the coin will have a high price when it was being traded on an exchange.

These are very high rising coins in this market and will undoubtedly be the best investment trends this year. I think ETH, LTC, BNB will be the best 3 growth coins because the value is constantly changing dramatically in January and if this continues for a while longer then investors will have a lot of new investment opportunities.

In addition, investing IEO is also the second investment option to help you make more profit in the short term.

Personallly my vote is for Eth because as soon as it switch to proof of stake, there will be massive demand from whales and institutions and even miners to buy and stake more and more eth that will reap them passive dividends, if the market support eth with bulls im optimistic that it can achieve as high as upto 100x from here but for that the transition should be smooth and all outstanding issues should be resolved.

I'm never really able to get myself deeply into alts. I love my LTC, Monero and a few other smart contract types, so I always have my favorites but yeah, I got to agree about ETH too. NOT my fav coin, I even hated it for a really long time until things changed with their direction and even Vitalik seemed a lot less annoying. It's still around after all this while, improving and building, it will become hot again this year. Not to the point of 1k price or 100k as you say, but definitely better than today!

Those are troll coins and he's trolling lol. Pretty much everything in top 200+ will pump regardless of their development during altseason(IF it happens), But only those with strong development will sustain the gains. OP you better do your own research, people here will shill their bags.
